A simply MUST if you are here during Thanksgiving. Since a youth I ve wanted to see and experience the Macy s Parade and here was the time of a life time, even with the coldest conditions 2018.. it was worth the freeze and wait!!

Las Vegas has nothing on the lights glitter and excitement of Times Square with the motion picture billboards. Some music to tie the whole area together would have been a nice touch. I have been to plazas where block after block the same music followed you and gave a more cohesive experience.
We had our first visit here last night and the whole area was rammed and I mean touch tight. So many people ,street artists, shops , restaurants , street vendors and not forgetting the sky scraper illuminated billboards. Well worth a visit, no hesitation in recommending.
Crazy busy with many places to sit and rest and eat. Ventured around time square at night and couldn't help but get slowed down by every other person taking selfies right in the middle of the walkway. If you want an exciting place to see in the Big Apple at night, this is it. There is lots to see. Expect selfie delays though. Another bummer is all the LCD screens are basically advertisements for consumers. Sure it's a shopping district but there should be screens with visual elements to take you away from shopping. That immerse you into art or something.
Most famous spot in the city, I managed to tick New Years Eve on Times Square in front row off my bucket list so it will forever be an amazing memory! Although pricey stores, you can t say you didn t expect it, at the end of the day it is one of the most famous places on Earth! Can t wait to go back!
Always something to see and there is always a spectacle around. This is the essence of New York. There are lots of people walking around and sightseeing and they are some good and bad things, so parents, keep a look out. The lights from the billboards at night are amazing.
Great tourist attraction. It's awesome in new years. It's so pretty with the talk buildings and screens everywhere. It shows the point at technology we are at. It looks best at night.
The area is full of life and you will feel very safe m! Street vendors and stores. Brightly lit, colorful sky high billboards. Many streets are closed off to traffic and there are people dressed in costumes, sports and competitions.
Iconic Square! It's like no other. Beats even Las Vegas for lights spectacle. A must visit for any New to NYC Tourist. Of course, classic location to await each New Year!
The most amazing nightlife I have ever experienced. We began with some DALLAS TEXAS BBQ and enjoyed the most amazing views ever. It was honestly, just like in the movies. I'm ready to move to New York.
Amazing experience. The heart of NYC is constantly pumping. The New Year's Eve experience is just an experience like no other. The restaurants around the area are good but for an authentic experience I would recommend Hell's Kitchen area and 9th.
One place everyone has in bucket list.I have visited this place 3 times and never been disappointed. It has culture, people, shopping and what not...Evenings are particularly special.
A very vibrant place, highly illuminated at night. There's always something going on somewhere, plenty of bars and diners to take in. Worthwhile taking a walk in the evening to catch the atmosphere. We stayed on 52nd and 7th so we weren't far away from Broadway either.
Overpriced like any other big city. Go walk to the park enjoy the scenery, and save your money. Time square itself is a nice area for first timers but it's nothing too special either.
It's the world famous times square. Lots of "flag ship" stores. You can get a lot of unique items here from things m&m, and Hershey's stores. There is a wide variety of food, bars and costs so check what your looking. It's always crowded.
Great people watching of course. I honestly felt quite safe in NY, more so than when in Chicago. A lot of shopping right in Times Square as well as food options. Highly recommend. We went the end of May and had a variety of weather, pack for all conditions. I was often chilly as I only brought a thin jacket. Our hotel was perfect, close to everything. Not worth the extra cost for "city view "
Perfect place to visit during night but also during a day. After 3am even better as there are almost no turists but on the other hand at that time its dirty and full of strange people and homelesses :-(
It was so vibrant and full of people and colorful distractions! I would highly recommend stopping through here if you're visiting Manhattan, definitely something I've never seen before!
Good place to see people and cultures from around the world. The place is always crowded during the day and the night. If you are lucky then you can see a unique performance. A lot of big store around the place. A lot of space to sit to enjoy the ambience of the place. The feel is different between the day and the night, you should try both! It's worthy
Time of my life!!! Time square was a great experience. The crowd is another story, but I dealt with it. Lot of food, shopping and sites to see. If you get the chance go just for the experience.
I've lived in NY since I was 5 years old, and Times Square keeps getting more and more unbearable - specifically, too crowded (even by NYC/tourist area standards). It takes me longer to walk one short block in Times Square than 5 blocks away from the area. It would be nice if a better means of pedestrian flow was put in place - especially separate lanes for gawkers (& those who cannot tear their face from their cell phone long enough to notice surroundings, + people who insist on walking 3 people across) and people actually trying to get somewhere. Lastly, a grown man (at least 6'4") tried to punch me (5'1", 90 pounds), full force, because someone (tourist) just barely grazed his arm with a purse/bag and the guy thought it was me. Inexcusable behavior by any measure. I'm just lucky he missed.
Probably the only time in my lifetime I would ever be able to stand in Times Square without any traffic. 06/14/2020 a Sunday Afternoon during Covid19!!
Times Square is everything you thought it would be and more. The only reason for 4 stars is I think NYPD could do a better job at crowd control and crowd flow management. There s way to many panhandlers and people just trying to scam you for money.
Times square is definitely something to see. One of those places that needs to be seen in person. It's a living and breathing place and the constant movement of people and cars is an absolutely amazing thing to witness.
Dirty after, but I love the lights. Be weary of the costume characters, you're wallets, and bags. Don't be a silly and you'll be ok. DON'T ACT LIKE A TOURIST! If you do, you deserve what you get lol
It s as good as they say it is! Obviously pretty crowded but the experience was really amazing and definitely something that everyone should experience at least once!
Amazing as always. Drop by to soak in some NYC whenever in the city. Gets insanely crowded but if you can find a parking spot and ignore the weird smells and weirder people, great place to hang about.
Disney store staff was incredibly accommodating with my son's photo shoot to display his image on the screen. My son 2 years of age was not staying still for the photograph. They made him feel comfortable and tried until I got a great image of my son.
It's all about what you're into. Earlier today it was less crowded. In the larger, nighttime crowd the visuals had more clarity. The over-the-top displays we're huge, bright, colorful, active, sparkly... Hold on. Gotta catch my breath! Let your eyes come back to the faces and you'll see average, over-painted, sad, exuberant, insecure, confident, joyful, pained humans. Look lower, at the sidewalk, and you'll see urine, refuse, homelessness, blindness, deafness (or so the cardboard said), sometimes with swollen ankles, blank stares, rocking bodies, bleeding veinous stasis wounds..., and we all just keep walking.
A tourist must. Lots to explore and observe. Many, many people will try to get your cash though people selling music, maps, the characters that you can pose with for photos ... anyone that approaches you wants money, lol. Use your discretion and if you have a soft spot for strangers and their tales, don't bring cash
Most memorable places that I had visited in 2014 during the summer break as a tourist. Especially when returning home after 12am from a long day, the energy never went. Love to come back, when things get back to normal.
Always an interesting experience especially if you really love super crowds and people yelling, pushing and just being straight up a-holes. Biggest pet peeve... Don't stop in the middle of the sidewalk to figure out where your next stop is. Find a place off to the side so you don't hold up everyone else.
