Great people watching of course. I honestly felt quite safe in NY, more so than when in Chicago. A lot of shopping right in Times Square as well as food options. Highly recommend. We went the end of May and had a variety of weather, pack for all conditions. I was often chilly as I only brought a thin jacket. Our hotel was perfect, close to everything. Not worth the extra cost for "city view "
