I've lived in NY since I was 5 years old, and Times Square keeps getting more and more unbearable - specifically, too crowded (even by NYC/tourist area standards). It takes me longer to walk one short block in Times Square than 5 blocks away from the area.
It would be nice if a better means of pedestrian flow was put in place - especially separate lanes for gawkers (& those who cannot tear their face from their cell phone long enough to notice surroundings, + people who insist on walking 3 people across) and people actually trying to get somewhere.
Lastly, a grown man (at least 6'4") tried to punch me (5'1", 90 pounds), full force, because someone (tourist) just barely grazed his arm with a purse/bag and the guy thought it was me. Inexcusable behavior by any measure. I'm just lucky he missed.
