I love coming here from time to time to enjoy the sounds of the big city. There is so many stores to shop at and many big screens to look at. I love coming here during the winter even though it's cold but it's so lovely to walk around with family and friends.

Crazy busy crowded due to two opposing rallies going on simultaneously across the street from each other. All the usual activity with costumes overwhelming and some barely there...like body painting and G-strings for coverage. Oh happy day. But the weather was nice and the FOOD at the festival.....indescribably delicious!!

A little over rated in terms of a tourist destination. It s definitely glitzy but watch your wallet and purse. We only walked through after seeing a show. From when I first visited years ago, they ve at least blocked off traffic.

Wayyyyyyy too many scammers in the streets. You will get harassed all day by scammers and people disguised as cartoon characters. This should be illegalized immediately for the safety of the public. Not a minute went by where i didnt get harassed by someone asking for money it really takes away from the joy of sightseeing time sq. The stores here are ok. A bit expensive but u can find a good deal.

Wow! From Toronto, I still am amazed at how many people there are at the square!!! I love it eventhough it is so crowded and it is a must go place for everyone to go! Do go and see a street performance there and make sure to give your tips. Going at night is the best and especially at midnight where all the electronic signs perform a spectacular light show. I wasn't able to go but I've heard it's great.

FEW TIPS:
-DON'T TAKE PICTURES OF PERFORMANCES WITHOUT GIVING SOME TIPS
-DON'T ACCEPT CD'S FROM PEOPLE WHEN THEY SAY IT IS FOR FREE IT IS NOT
-DON'T STAND IN THR MIDDLE OF THE SIDEWALK

When I first arrived to the city, the lights and colors of time square were overwhelming. There is a lot going on at once here. This may sound naive, but before visiting nyc I didn t realize how almost exclusively touristy this part of town is. I mean, it s all still very cool to see and be around. At night, the scene looks very futuristic. You feel like you re in a movie set in 2050 or something. Maybe this is obvious for most readers, but there aren t really local restaurants/bars/shops in Times Square. It s all chain stuff. Definitely worth seeing and exploring. You are close to so many other cool parts of the city too. Just be careful and don t go on one of those bike tours... don t let them talk you into it. I was charged around $60 for about an 8 minute right (misunderstanding, I thought he said he was not going to charge me). I guess that was my naivety and I had to learn the hard way!

Times Square is usually too crowded to enjoy but tonight there was plenty of space. Unfortunately that was due to COVID, hopefully we will get to the new normal and then I'll avoid Times Square again.

I don't understand the hype about Times Square. Yes, it is impressive to see all those screens, but that is it. To me, a shrine to consumerism and materialism. With the large crowds and the bright lights, it feels a bit overwhelming. A once in a lifetime visit would be enough to get the experience of big city lights.

Lovely Times Square! No words can describe the ecstasy and flamboyance you experience at this place. Lot of lightning and plenty of people from all over the world come to visit this place. Spend a day or two here and you will enjoy every moment of it. There are plenty of places to eat, shop and simply watch. There was a live band performing every time I ve been here so it s an added joy to experience a live performance.

Madness describes this place the best. It has a bit of a Las Vegas feeling over it. Unfortunately there are some improvements on their way which makes it less nice to see. If you don't like crowds stay away and go to Central Park :)

The coolest place and no one can rate this below 5,
Bustling destination in the heart of the Theater District known for bright lights, shopping & shows.

It stretches from West 42nd to West 47th Streets.Brightly adorned with billboards and advertisements, Times Square is sometimes referred to as "The Crossroads of the World"] "The Center of the Universe", "the heart of The Great White Way", and "the heart of the world".One of the world's busiest pedestrian areas, it is also the hub of the Broadway Theater Districtand a major center of the world's entertainment industry.Times Square is one of the world's most visited tourist attractions, drawing an estimated 50 million visitors annually.Approximately 330,000 people pass through Times Square daily, many of them tourists, while over 460,000 pedestrians walk through Times Square on its busiest days.

Formerly known as Longacre Square, Times Square was renamed in 1904 after The New York Times moved its headquarters to the then newly erected Times Building, now One Times Square. It is the site of the annual New Year's Eve ball drop, began on December 31, 1907, which continues to attract over a million visitors to Times Square every year.

One of the Most Happening Place on the entire planet. Proof that this city never sleeps.
The only lines running on my mind were from Jay-Z s hit with Alicia Keys. This city and especially Times Square is at a completely different and faster pace than the rest of America. It feels like you re in a completely different place... there are a lot of huge stores and billboards and almost every angle will be photogenic... To just sit back and relax I suggest you go to the Times Square McDonalds order something and enjoy the view from the second floor... Plenty of entertainment options are available too.

The heart of the big Apples. Totally a must place to go for all of the travelers in NYC. Only drawback is it has no free toilet here. Even all the toilet access in all the fast food chains are locked with code and only admit entry for their customers.

We loved times square! Compared to SF ( which smells like a toilet that's visually surrounded by feces and hypodermic needles) it's a clean and safe place. There's a huge police presence on just about every other corner. Felt really safe. Yeah, you still need to be aware of your surroundings just like any other place but there's a feeling of safety here because of NYPD. We definitely want to come back again.

Quaint little intersection. There is a big set of bleachers where you can sit and observe throngs of people, traffic, and flashy billboards. Many hustlers in costumes will try to take photos with you for money.

It's a nice place to go see if you're a tourist. Pretty cool to see when it's dark outside. The whole time square is is glowing from the screens. Otherwise not much to do out there besides restaurants. Streets are pretty dirty..

Pro tip: Avoid the crowds (but still experience the amazing neon overload that is Times Square) by going earlier in the day (10-11am).

Grab a coffee and a pastry from a nearby shop, post up at the tables near GMA studio 7, and watch NYC come to life while getting a healthy dose of the American dream: Ads erved up via flashing lights and selfie sticks galore!

So much to do! So much to see! We were there to see the Lion King on Broadway. It was so great! After the show we wandered around Times Square, took photos with different characters and ate dinner at a food cart! Even at 11pm, Times Square looks like broad daylight! It's a time we will not soon forget.
