Went to this hospital Thursday morning there is no one in the lobby it was no reason to rush but yet for some reason they didn't even take my vitals they ran in CT they didn't even listen to my heart and they sent me on my way keep in mind I've just been through a car accident and the airbags deployed I was complaining of chest pains hard to breathe couldn't move they sent me home 2 days later I'm at St Joe's to find out I have a broken sternum a fractured rib and there's something seriously wrong with my kidneys this hospital sent me home to die never ever ever go here if you want to live

My name is Steven Wolf this review is on behalf of my mother in law. She went in yesterday to have a drainage tube replaced after having it ripped out due to an accident at home on 6/9/2019. She called the surgeon the night it was ripped out and again that morning 6/10/19. The following day 06/11/19 she receive a call back from the surgeons assistant and was told she had scheduled an appointment for her to come in. She (The patient) had to call again and informed them that She did not have an appointment set according to the hospital. The assistant corrected the mistake and got her in the next day. Keep in mind the tube is sewed into the stomach and drains stomach bile. After going into the hospital she was taken to the radiology department. The radiology department explained her the two options for doing the operation. First one was to have local anesthetic and the other was to put her to sleep. Her and the person doing the surgery agreed to the second option. After being transported to the operation room the person doing the surgery decided that they were going to do option one instead of what was previously agreed to. According to her "It helped with the first punch but i could feel the other two". Meaning every time they pushed the tube in she could feel it. The person preforming the surgery knew that the first option would be painful. The patient is a 67 year old woman who has a high pain tolerance. After the surgery she was in tears from the pain. The person who preformed the surgery cannot be called a doctor.Doctors are meant to care for and help patients. This "doctor" could not care enough to carry out the wishes of his patients. He did not care that he put this 67 year old woman through terrible pain. Pain she is still in the next day after what they did to her. I am extremely disappointed in the level of care my mother in law has received . I would like the matter to be addressed so no one else suffers the way she has.
I recently recently had 2 major procedures performed at BUMC. My experience with all of the doctors, nurses, anesthesiologists, radiology techs and every one else was nothing short of outstanding. Virtually everyone was extremely competent, friendly and compassionate throughout both procedures. Perfect? Nope. But all in all, I can't imagine a better experience.
I put my life in their hands a couple of times in the past few weeks, and I would not hesitate to do it again in the future.
Banner has been a lifesaver for me...i had a transplant 3 years ago ..unfortunetly i have had to return to banner do to some infections. I came in and was out of sorts but the staff here n dr.s have been very patient and fully understand my fears n wat i must been going thru. I recommend this hospital .they are great
Dirty, disgusting, trifling staff.Blood everywhere!!!Horrible horrible hospital!I live way in phx thats why i came to this one for the 1st time but never again!im use to mesa baywood or desert clean staff and u actually see the housekeeping staff there walking around cleaning doing there job... not once did i see a housekeeper !!Everything was sooooo dirty !Never ever a again!i dont care if im dying ill drive way too mesa before i come here again..
Some of their staff is very very rude, like security in the emergency entrance and lady from information desk. They make you feel dumb and ignorant, they don t take on consideration that you are in a hospital and you are going thru difficult times. So disappointing for a hospital
The worst place I have been to the ER was taking for ever to take my mom in and she was in some much pain I had to rush her out of there and take her to another hospital. The nurse in the lobby was so rube and it was just hell going there never go there.
Let me start by saying I generally hate hospitals and I have really high standards for medical care. I had my second child here almost 4 weeks ago now and it was a great experience that I have wonderful memories of...even though I had a very long and difficult labor. I was transferred here from a birthing center due to some minor problems. The situation was managed very well and they made me feel very safe and comfortable. Every single staff member was professional, friendly, knowledgeable, respectful, and went out of their way to be helpful. My wishes and preferences were respected and I was always asked before anything was done or given to myself or the baby. I highly recommend this hospital and will be back if I have another child and still live in the area. Hopefully the high standards don't change and stay the same !
Only thing that was not ideal were the aftercare facilities. Very outdated, small, and cramped. Bed was not comfortable.
Had a C-section here. I loved my surgical staff. The postpartum care was amazing. Every one of the nurses and doctors my son had he loved. We received the best care for our whole family during our stay. My son was extremely well taken care of and they were so helpful with teaching us better techniques to use for feeding and burping since I was not able to move around too much. I would absolutely recommend any mother to have their baby here. You, your baby, and family WILL receive the best care.
I've been in hospitals that's close to being medieval. Although the place is not a Beverly Hills hospital. I was treated with respect and had no problem with the food, although there were a few mistakes I had no problem with it.
My husband has been in this facility since January 13th. His problem is not resolved and is getting worse. Rarely hear from his doctors and serious issues are not addressed until he brings them to their attention. I worry that he will ever get better. I pray he comes home.
I woke up here after a month and a half coma. I am very fortunate for my new health. Thank you to my nurse for all the love and thank you, Banners, for a great staff.
They were very slow to see you to draw blood and get fluids going and to come get my husband for ct scan. That all took 3 hrs and now have to wait another 1-2 hrs for results. As we sat waiting the nurses and doctors sat around laughing and talking loudly about personal matters instead of working. So im leaving with a headache. We did have a great nurse named Emma now she was great.
I had same day surgery today, 2/7/2020. The doctor, resident, nurses, support staff were all great. They all made what was a nervous day for me into a more relaxed day for me. I had to stay in PACU for 4 hours after my surgery was completed. My nurse in PACU, Laura W. was amazing!! I was asking the same questions over and over. She was kind, understanding, helpful and so patient with me. Thank you so much for the caring employees you have. It made a huge difference in my day and experience.
This hospital has a large waiting room which makes it hard to hear the staff call your name however instead of walking out and announcing your name they stand at one side behind the wall and call it. I waited for 2.5 hours before asking about my wait time as it was a busy day for hospital staff. Once i did ask though they informed me that i wasnt in the system and that i had been called twice. Must be nice to have super sonic hearing. I will not return to this hospital.
Monica Smith one of the Emergency Department Nurses is toxic and unprofessional. She should be fired and terminated immediately for her incompetence on how she handled my grandmother.
One of the worst experiences in my life. I had a hysterecromy and prolapse repair. The drs and pre op people were all amazing but after surgery i was moved to the 6th floor and had the worst nurse ever. Her name was Michelle and she has no sympathy or empathy for anyone. She even joked the next morning that it must've been a full moon because everyone was in so much pain and up all night crying in pain. They left my catheter out longer than supposed to to check if i could pass urine (which i couldn't) and my bladder felt like it was gonna explode and i had to buzz nurse to actually come put it back in which still took half hour or more as i screamed in pain waiting. They also didn't let me walk after surgery which my Dr. told me was a must after surgery. Finally at 9pm they let me walk but the just sent me to do it by myself even though i had a fall risk tag attached to my medical bracelet. Very unprofessional is all i have to say.Like who does that?? Who finds that funny. I was in so much pain i was shaking and crying and she couldn't care less. Luckily the next day i got new nurses Terra and i believe Karen. They were wonderful and caring. I would never wish that kind of treatment on anyone. Would not choose that hospital again.
doctors, nurses and all personnel very kind, direct and helpful. waiting rooms were comfortable. it was a long wait but considering the type of operation, it was all good. thank you Lord for giving my daughter's doctors their great knowledge in what they were doing. ASA
Very warm, comfortable, clean, & calming! (Not a typical feeling when walking into a hospital). Staff is very friendly and willing to go above & beyond what's expected. Love the photos and artwork all around the campus...makes time for family staying with a patient a bit more relaxed with something educational or just beautiful to look at. We feel very blessed to have found a doctor who is determined yet still passionate for his patients working through a medical center as wonderful as Banner University has been for us! I appreciate, applaud, and deeply thank all staff members who are a part of Banner University...it wouldn't be possible without all your hard work and compassion
At 515pm December 15 2017 I checked into the E.R for a infection in a prior surgical site . The registration employees and the Nurses were top notch. But now the Dr.that seen me should "NOT" be allowed to deal with the public! So I am laying in bed in really bad pain waiting to meet my Dr. She comes in and introduces herself and she knew my name and moments later she looks at me and says so are you still shooting? Uhhhh What? I say I am not a junkie! And where did this opinion come from because she had admitted that she had not seen my chart yet. I think I may need to take this to a higher authority because the bias the hospital will have on such actions. P.S you have my number on file feel free to call. Sincerely Karl Allen Spratt
Worst ER ive been to in the country. Come in with Chest pain and SOB and they make you wait 4 hrs in the lobby. Turns out it was blood clots in the lungs (Pulmonary Embolism). SMH I can't believe this place.
Delievered my baby at this hospital and overall I was extremely satisfied with the staff especially with Taylor and another nurse, who assisted in the delivery. No matter how much I cried out in pain they always remained calm and did everything to keep me and my child safe. I'm so grateful that they as well as the rest of the staff gave me a very great experience for my first child!
Yesterday had cyst removed. Everyone was taking care of me. I feel especial, the surgery went well. Thank you very much to Dr. Nicole Mahnert all the Assitant of her, The Nurses Anna, Adriana, the lady with blond short hair (sorry forgot ur name) and Tasha whose the one who takes care of my billing to get my surgery done. I would recommend this hospital. All facilities work done nice, organize and clean. Thank you so much guys!
My brother who fell was taken by ambulance to banner and he was left in emergency/overflow room for 5 days with no pain meds, no fluids and no food. As he screamed in pain they told me to take him to a hospice. He was a veteran and had Medicare. Within days he was dead. Thanks Banner, you killed my brother with your negligence . Kay Woodward
2015 I lost my fiance and best friend in a tragic horse-cart accident while trying to save our son. The doctors, surgeons, and nurses tried everything they could. When they told us she wouldn't make it, they were constantly checking on us for the next couple days until we said goodbye. They were absolutely great in such a horrible time. They also took her organ,s as she had just changed to being an organ donor just weeks before, and 4 people were able to live on or better. Thanks to all the great people at the hospital, the fire fighters in Buckeye/Goodyear, and the LifeFlight personnel!!! She will be missed!!!
Visited banner today. Had multi health complaints. Most of which stemmed from my stomach. A cat scan was given with no real cause of what could be causing me to bleed or have pain. While yes the nurses cared for me I feel like the real issues were ignored I was given a vague explanation then released then after leaving and reading papers multiple things were found during my cat scan that were very alarming and not addressed
My aunt was admitted in this hospital in the ICU. We where waiting for over 6 hrs to not get not one infinformat about her status. The staff dr and nurses are very rude here. This is not the way to address patient health.
if you like your self and caring about your health do not go there for any thing ,specially they labcorp .they dont have experience ever,so they hurt you.
I recieved, such great treatment here today, i was impressed, dr. Gardner, in e.r. and his staff, were the greatezti was treated with dignity respect and i wasnt judged for my bad choices in self medication, he still treated my illness, reffered me, and, i went in white knuckling pain, i am sooooo, grateful for you dr. Gardner,,, thank you, thank you, and thanl you and i anticipate a speedy recovery, n if not i hope you are my treating physician. GOD bles you doctor
Hey I hope y'all having a great morning but wanted to say my horrible experience I had with hospital has been resolved. A big thank you to hospital for working to resolve problem. Even though we are just coming down from huge covid spike and we we're all stressed the medical staff who worked tiredless to serve patients that's what's make health care heroes
Worst care ever. My mother was here since last night. Can't get answers just orders for more tests. Then leaves before reading or discussing what was found. She transferred here last night with a gallbladder problem as determined by Abrazo heart center. Now, well over 24 hours later still no recommended treatment. The doctor this early evening wanted to see an MRI before releasing her then left without talking to her or handling a discharge. The doctor that came on duty this evening is uncomfortable doing a discharge without seeing her. Only communication is second hand through a nurse.
Update: now the doctor will not see her till he can see if she can keep food down. She had yogurt and fruit earlier but is not considered.
The updates look great but that's about it. I waited 3 hrs to be seen for a possible blood clot only to be taken back and wait even more. Some nurses are friendly but other are just rude. I knew from the beginning when I hesitated to come o should have just listen to my gut and not come. Oh well my mistake but never again.
Mom was told to go there by another hospital, hostpital confirmed that the dr was waiting for her. She sat there for 5 hours and kept being told by staff that she was lied to and they don't do that and she waits like everybody else. Was told she was 4th in line but seeing many people taken back after being told that. Don't come to this hospital.
I have been to this hospital for two separate visits, each for three days inpatient. Both visits were as close to enjoyable as any hospital stay could be. I was fortunate enough to be able to take care of most basic activities by myself, but any time I did need something, help was provided. The staff were kind and efficient, the facility clean, and the food surprisingly good given the setting.
In my time at the hospital (and immediately after my visits), I had only two negative experiences. The first involved a miscommunication about possible post-operative symptoms, which resulted in my visiting an ER a day after discharge for what turned out to be a common side-effect; the second was an unexpected scheduling change which resulted in a two-hour wait prior to my second procedure. Both issues were minor, and both were addressed (or are in the process of being addressed).
Unrelated pro tip for future patients: bring a bag of chocolates for the staff when you come in.
Do not come here if you have an actual emergency because you won t be seen. I checked in myself using their kiosk like requested and was called up by registration almost immediately. I was told to have a seat anywhere in the lobby, which I did off to the side. After 4 hours I still hadn t been called back to see anyone. And after 4.5 hours I was told by security that where I was sitting was for Covid patients only and to move over to the main section. It would ve been nice to know that before I was instructed to just go sit down. The emergency lobby is so disgusting; there s garbage everywhere, homeless people throughout and I didn t see them sanitize not a single thing. There is absolutely no social distancing in place.
This was the worst ER visit I ever had. I went in with horrible abdominal pain. The only staff member that did a good job was my night nurse. My night doctor only came in once, my day doctor was horrible at explaining stuff, and my day nurse took up to 45 minutes to respond to the button. We had to remind the day nurse twice to retrieve the urine sample. They only did a blood test, urine test, and ultra sound. They claimed they would check the appendix, gallbladder, and pancreas. They took 7 hours to get the ultra sound results back. They claimed they didnt know what it was and blamed it on a stomach flu and to come back if I have something burst. 2 days later, i had increased pain and instead went to Honor Health Deer Valley. They did a CT scan (which Banner could have easily done) and within an hour told me I had appendicitis and gave me an appendectomy the next day. We looked at the documentation given by Banner (which the nurse forgot to give us some of the documents we found out later on), and they hadn't even checked the appendix. They saw that I had infection due to white blood cell count, but didnt put me on any antibiotics. They only prescribed me antacids and tylenol. They also gave me omeprazole without first testing if it was H. Pylori, which the omeprazole would have made it hard to test if I had that, luckily I didnt. They sent me home in a condition that my appendix could have burst and I could have gone septic, without seeming to care at all. I wouldnt recommend this hospital to my worst enemy.
I ve been in a lot of hospitals as a patient and also as a loved of a patient. This is my first time as a patient in this hospital. I was having a surgery and staying one night. I was very happy with the care I received. You have to know as a patient you re not the only patient that the nurses are caring for, and they re not perfect they don t always remember everything. So sometimes you have to remind them, but asking nicely with a smile goes a long way. They re not your slave. And they do come to your call button rather quickly. The food is good too. Everyone is very nice here. I had a very experience from pre-op, post-op, to my room. And in four days everyone has a private room. Yay for that!
Waited 3 hours in horrific pain, watched people come after me get taken back before me. Ridiculous. I wasn't asked what level of pain I was in during triage or anything else pertaining to my situation. Not to mention the fact that my 5 year old daughter sat it out with me when she should have been in bed. I walked out. You people need to evaluate how you run an ER, just because it's not trauma doesn't mean it's not excruciating. I advise others to try a different ER, can't be worse than this place.
My wife was here for Surgery, all went well with the surgery, however there were some really bad attitudes with a couple of the nursing staff. I QUITE HONESTLY WOULDN'T EVEN TAKE MY DOG TO THIS HOSPITAL UNLESS THEY IMPROVE SOME OF THE ATTITUDES OF A FEW STAFF MEMBERS
My father had emergency surgery for a heavely infected toe (due to diabetes) which had to be amputated. My family & I waited over 3 hrs in the surgery waiting room. After a while I called the service phone to see if there had been any updates, or how surged had gone....operator very kindly notified me that my Dad was back in his room & has been so for quite sometime. Surgery was only 7 minutes long...not one Dr had the courtesy to notify us or at least give us an update once surgery was completed. I found this to be very unprofessional & lack of consideration from hospital staff. Nurses...why are they always in a nonchalant mode...have a heart...at least if your in that prefession....geeez :-(
I had a c-section at Banner and from this routine procedure was infected with MRSA and necrotizing fasciitis, which is a flesh eating bacteria. The nurses in the surgical unit were amazing and took wonderful care of me throughout this horrendous experience. I was separated from my newborn for 2 weeks 8 days after he was born because I was back in the hospital fighting for my life. This hospital has traumatized me for life both mentally and physically.
I was in the hospital overnight for a pacemaker and other than I had to wait for a room after recovery, the experience was terrific. The nurses and doctors were the best.
Sadly my grandma passed away from horrible Sepsis there a few years back. I thought she was getting better from open heart surgery. No she had Sepsis, horrible hepatitis, and Marca from the surgery!
Patients beware - this hospital is a joke. By far the worst experience I've ever had at an emergency room. Not only were the nurses cold and inattentive, but they added statements to my medical record that were untrue. For example, that I had a loss of taste and smell (which I had never stated). I also witnessed an improbably disposal of medical waste (which is interesting because they presumed I had COVID according to medical records, even though I didn't). I was left in a room for over an hour without anyone coming to check on me, meanwhile I could hear the staff giggling and laughing outside of the door. I not given any real information about my condition, follow up care, or anything. I was discharged and told I'm fine, only to have another doctor ask for my medical records and discover a real issue. Heaven forbid I needed lifesaving care, because I would probably be dead. With hospitals like this, it's no wonder that medical errors are the 3rd leading cause of death in the U.S.
Just Horrible, the main entrance staff and security were very rude and racist to my family and I. I didn't like the experience and I will not be coming back.
Transportation leaves you stranded for hours. Very frustrating when its over 80 degrees the facility has locked its doors and no water. Extremely bad service from this dept. Complaints do nothing for the residents.
The hospital staff was very nice and helpful. The only issues I had was that the accomodations was great in labor and delivery, but very poor in the patient area. There was no A/C in the room my wife was staying at in the patient area. We had to wait until the morning for maintenance to fix the issue, which they were not able to resolve. The nurses were a little rude in the patient area as well. Other than that it was great.
Always a pleasure to visit. It's the people that make a place good or bad and Banner-University Medical has top notch, five star, employees. Need I say more?
The best neuro team ever! They saved my daughter's life she had an aneurysm she was in the hospital from June 23, to July 11. I want to thank Dr. Kumar Dr.Sunenshine and everyone that was involved for caring for my daughter. An extra special shout to the nurses on 10th floor in neuro my daughter was on pod B thank you so much Carla, Caleb,Michelle, Gianni, if I forgot to mention you my mind failed not my heart thank you all from the bottom of my heart. Last but not least Thank You Chaplain Asa for words of comfort when I thought I going to lose my daughter Thank You!!!!
The worse freaking hospital after sitting for 6hrs and being told I wasn't an emergency enough and have to continue waiting in discomfort I signed myself out cause that is just unacceptable no resolution, no help, no care and the way the staff talks to the patient some deserve to be fired SMH. Glad I finally found a hospital that cares enough to think I am an emergency I will NEVER DEAL WITH ANOTHER BANNER HOSPITAL AGAIN thanks to the bs treatment I received here. And go figure I have the flu and phnemonia and bronchitis all of which could have been caught and treated when my symptoms first started thanks for nothing.
Wife just had open heart surgery here. All went perfect until recovery which was truly a nightmare. She shared a recovery room with three others over four days. There were groups of visitors with very young kids in the room for hour's at a time (5' away from her bed).. making rest impossible. Nurse's should have strictly enforced the two person limit especially for someone just out of major surgery but seemed oblivious most if the time .. although ICU staff was perfect, due to the recovery room situation, we'll never return to nor recommend this facility.
NEW: WHAT A JOKE THIS HOSPITAL IS SAYING THAT AFTER THERE INVESTIGATION THAT THE DOCTOR NOT RESUSCITATE ORDERS DON'T CARRY FORWARD WITH SUBSEQUENT HOSPITAL ADMISSIONS WELL WHAT THE HELL IS ECTRONIC RECORDS FOR DR JENNIFER O'HEA PRESCRIBING MY DAD FENTANYL EVERY 30 To 45 Min UNTIL HIS DEATH AND SAYING HE WASN'T COMPLAINING OF ANY PAIN THIS HOOD I MEAN HOSPITAL IS HORRIBLE TRYING TO MAKE EXCUSES AS TO WHY THIS HOSPITAL MURDERED MY FATHER AND IF IT DOESN'T MATTER TO U NOW MAYBE IT WILL MATTER WHEN GOD JUDGE US ALL I'M DISGUSTED WITH THE WHOLE OPERATION OF THIS THUG HOSPITAL WHO THINK THEY ARE DOING 13 MIN OF CPR. They treat the animals better than Thier patients. I don't care what job u have have a heart and take time to get to know your patience he had been there to many times for this to be overlooked. I miss and love u dad I hope they didn't break your ribs and choke you with those cords awful people so full of there selfs they think they are God!!! I'm over this place!!!! I didn't want to give them 1 star but won't let me post without
This hospital has the worst staff I've ever seen. We are on floor 16 and the staff is always joking around inappropriately with each other. We can hear them in our room. They have an attitude when my wife calls them. One nurse got caught in a lie saying she helped my wife eat but she did not and had to apologize. We hate being here. I wish we could transfer hospitals.
I am not sure if this happens on all floors but the evening and overnight crew were extremely loud and unreasonably noisy all night long. Having to talk loudly, crush cans and plastic bottles, sharing way to loudly their personal family dv stories, shouting with visitors instead of using quiet calm voices for personal conversations, changing my garbage out at 2:30 am ... A few other things but I'm to tired to lousy them all . The frequent checks aren't what kept me up. It was the rude noisiness. On the upside, for the most part everyone on the floor was nice enough and friendly. Just wish it was not when I was sleeping. Or trying to sleep and recover I should say.
I was really apprehensive about coming here after reading the reviews. I had to go to the Emergency Room.
However, all the nurses/doctors were fantastic. Unfortunately, the wait time was long.
After finishing with the doctor, I had to hang around for an additional 45 minutes to get my prescription and finish providing insurance information. This was on a slow night.
I had an Upper EUS procedure here in January 2020 and would like to thank and compliment all the staff, Dr. Mounzer and others who made this a very pleasant experience. Facilities were very clean with very considerate and profession people. Special thanks to Katie, Erika, Hector, Emily, Nickson & Pat.
My first born was delivered here. My wife's blood pressure was high, she had to be induced. Doc gave her some blood pressure meds. My baby's heart rate dropped, last minute C section was done because of it. We had a birthplan that included leaving the vernix on my baby's skin, they wiped it off anyway. One of the nurses wiped so hard she pulled my babies hair. He did not cry when they delivered him, just made sounds. He cried when the nurse pulled his hair, which is how I knew she hurt him. My baby did not receive vaccinations or vitamin k shot. We were pressured to give our baby the vitamin k shot by multiple doctors and nurses for the entire 3 days we were there. We refused each time. For the first 24 hours, my son would not eat much, and was resting, which we were told countless times it was normal. They checked my sons sugar and said it was low and ordered him to go to the nursery. They placed a sugar IV in his arm and said he could not leave until he was eating enough to maintain his own sugar level. Almost 2 days later, he was still on an IV in the nursery. They moved his IV and re-poked him twice. We had to go to the nursery every 2.5 hours to breastfeed. My wife's nurse would attempt to keep her from going, because her bp was high. Completely neglecting our child. Mind you, we had to take an elevator back and forth and my wife was in pain from her C section. Before one feeding, we arrived and the IV was in our son's forehead. No one told us anything. At this point, we're furious. We wondered why they did not at least call us before placing his IV there. We spoke to the pediatrician and asked why he could not be in the room with us. We asked what's taking so long for his sugar to stabilize. Realizing the possibility that he's still not eating as much because his body is relying on the IV. During our discussion, the pediatrician stated that the blood pressure medication they gave my wife was being transferred to my son through her breast milk, and that it actually causes low blood sugar. The doctor did not inform us. Knowing they messed up, the pediatrician immediately ordered my son to be released from the nursery. My wife discontinued the medication and we had to formula feed for 2 days until the meds cleared her system. It is my belief that my son never needed the IV in the first place, especially since it's completely normal for babies not to eat much during the first 24 hours after birth. I'm pretty sure his sugar would have been fine if they just let him rest and it's likely he would have eaten more, sooner, if his body was not relying on the sugar IV. The nurses in the nursery and the nurses working the floor my wife was on had the same knowledge and credentials. They could have easily given my son the same care in our room. Horrible experience. They act as if they have more authority over your health and your child's health and you do. STAY AWAY unless you're dying. Even then, check your alternatives first.
Thus far the hospital has been a nightmare. I have known Dr. Blackstone since she started Scottsdale Bariatric out at SHC Shea. She was incredible then, and she remains incredible now. The difference here is the quality of the stay. She performed a Laparoscopic Sleeve Gastrectomy on me about three years ago, and my recovery at Scottsdale was phenomenal. The nurses were on point and attentive. Now, my mother had the same surgery and is currently sitting in her room still waiting on pain meds. She is over an hour past due, and the staff has made no effort to rectify the situation. Furthermore, it took over an hour for her to show up in the system after she was transfer to her room, meaning that she was completely unable to receive any pain medication until she showed up. The nurses did little to amend this problem aside from apologizing and reiterating there was nothing they could do. Perhaps there wasn't, but this does not change the fact that my mother was forced to lie in pain while they waited for the system to update. In addition, the night crew was horrendous. They were off schedule and inattentive. Given that this entire unit is solely for the bariatric patients, I would think that their quality of care would be better finely tuned for the patients. Unless there are some significant changes in the quality of care during the course of my mother's stay, my review will remain. As of now, no matter how much respect I have for Dr. Blackstone, I will not recommend anyone to the Banner Bariatric due to their staff's apathy for the patients.
I just had a dnc Friday in Prescott. I came here after the pain progression and the symptoms of infection. When I got here the where rude that I wanted a wheel chair since I can t walk. Then they told me that I have a 6 hour wait because covid cases are being seen first. Then as I sit and cry in the waiting room for hours the nurses tell me to stop crying. Then when I go for my ultrasound the lady tells me when they read my results I ll go back. Then they called me for blood work took my wheel chair and forced me to walk carrying all my belongings while crying. Then when the guy drew my blood he didn t let the alcohol dry and got it in my hole when he shakenly stabbed my arm. This place is a joke. Do not go.
My boyfriend and I had to take my dad into the ER one night, upon arrival the help we got was awesome. The severity of my dad's condition, he was taken back right away. I really appreciate the care my dad got on his stay, the Dr's, nurses, and physical therapist's were all awesome. My boyfriend and I did also get to stay with my dad and the nursing staff made sure we were comfortable as well.
I was in the outpatient surgery center where I had s tonsillectomy and this place was absolutely awesome!!! They took such good care of me and even though it was 30 min they briefed my husband who was sitting on nails... even after I went home they continued to call and were extremely helpful when my Dr milligans office was nothing but complete rude a******* no joke I went 3 days w out proper meds the hospital told me this is the protocol for this and this is what you should be going through etc... they went above and beyond and they don't have too.. thank you so much
I had all but one of my kids here. I used to highly recommend this hospital. This hospital received a makeover and nice renovations; sadly this did not improve its professionalism. The nurse my daughter has in Labor & Delivery has some of the worst people skills I ve seen in this field. I will not allow my children to have children here going forward. Their new policy requires my daughter to feel scared and unsure as I was forced to leave her side, unable to be with her for support during her epidural. New policy only allows 1 person in the room. So I had to leave my first time parents daughter and her boyfriend alone. Both scared at the whole situation and forced to be alone. To take no consideration for my daughter and father to be to have a parent in the room is alarming and sad. Broke my heart that she cried asking if I was coming back. I HATE this place for that
I've been here for multiple open heart surgeries, next is a heart transplant. They've been great to my family and I. I chose BUMC when I was able to go nearly anywhere.
As the wife of a heart patient who was treated at Banner, I would like to take the time to recognize the doctors and nurses who treated my husband. Dr. Verma, Dr. Levin (sp) and any other doctor who worked on my husband, I thank you all for saving his life! A special thanks to the nurses Bethany, Chloe ( again, I apologize for my husbands behavior!), Alyssa and also Ben who always let me back to the ICU with a smile and a greeting! To anyone who tended to my husband whom I did not mention, I thank you from the bottom of my heart!
The worst care ever. Staff rude, nurse kept saying "I'm busy and I'll get to you when I can. My mother vommited and we pushed the call button to let staff know (we got her a basin and wash cloth to take care of her initially) but nurse did not come in for more than one hour and the vomit bin sat in the room on a shelf even longer than that.
Would not listen to my 90 year old mother and when I tried to advocate for pain management and care, nurse says to her, "boy, your family is really over protective!"
Sat in room with my mother day after her surgery from 7:30am to 4:30pm and we were not visited by one doctor, not one care coordinator/social worker, not one nurse manager or anyone to talk about care plan or progress toward discharge.
Her pain was a 3/10 and went to a 6/10 2 hours later. Nurse's response was I can't do anything for 3 hours as that is what is "on order". Our response is wont it get much worse by then, become too hard to overcome, and perhaps an alternative to the pain management experience n order should be discussed with doctor!
The worst customer service when you call the operator and try to get a hold of a patient. The hospital does not have patients name registered when they first arrive. Bad service I do not recommend this hospital to anyone.
My experience with this hospital is by far one of the worst. My dad came into this hospital very ill, the doctors called me telling me my dad is very sick and probably won't make it. Throughout the past two weeks I have gotten five phone calls from the physician saying my dad is very ill and we should have a family meeting to talk about his future care in deciding whether we want him to stay alive. My dad has advanced directives and gave me MPOA. I went to the hospital to advocate for my dad and found out they weren't doing everything they can to help him. I arrived at 6pm and was told my dad needed to be put on a dialysis machine at 10am but there were none available in the whole hospital and apparently the city. I got upset and started going up the chain of command and the house supervisor came up with a machine 15 minutes later. Throughout this time I'm being told my dad was not going to live, and I finally had it with their negativity. I asked them to just give me the facts from there on and the next day I was told that my MPOA was not valid. The nurse manager in the ICU emailed me what seemed like something they looked up on google. I had a conference call with the nurse manager and risk management and they said my paper was not legal because it was signed in New Mexico. They then said the decisions for my dad were dependent on his whole family and they weren't honoring my dad's wishes as far as advanced directives and me being his MPOA. I then contacted my lawyers and was informed that my document was in fact legal. This has been ungoing for two days and I have tried calling them and leaving messages but no one has returned my phone call. So what gives a nurse a right to give out wrong legal information pertaining to a very important document? I am so disgusted with the way they are handling this while my dad is ill in the hospital. Do not, I repeat do not send your loved ones here because they easily give up on a patient that's very ill and will continually tell you how bad they are doing even when they start doing better. We are in the process of moving my dad to a different hospital. Come to this hospital at your own risk. And if they give you legal information, please check your sources or get a second opinion.
RIP OFF!!!! I was charged for my hospital stay & newborn hospital stay "nursery". I was told everything within my 4k deductible was included. Got charged separate deductible for newborn. We had the same room normal vaginal delivery. Disputed with Insurance. Crazy! I have 2 kids prior different hospital (no insurance) went smoothly.
This place was alright except for their porta cath worker he gave the hospital a bad ex9I think he didn't like African American he treated me very bad I filed a complaint with a manager and I called to file a complaint but they don't care cause they didn't do anything I asked them to give me feed back which they never did and told me that they usually don't which is not true but I know it's cause of the color of my skin6then I of the nurse asstance6did the same treated me like I was nothing she was treating the5Hispanic all nice cause I heard her with the patient on the other side6of the curtain being nice talking Spanish but me she treated me like I was nothing
A nice place Most of the staff is helpful and friendly However it is beneficial to have family members visit in order to receive basic care such as personal hygiene This morning I was taken to the restroom by the nursing assistant, who took me to a chair to wait on my breakfast placing a monitor so I would not get up without assistance He never gave me any water or soap to wash my hands and face before my breakfast was placed before me by other staff. Two hours later I am still sitting in my chair He is singing and sitting at the computer desk at the nurse's station I have turned off the alarm and washed myself The toilet was not flushed from two hours ago
Update: As promised Banner University Medical has contacted me about my experience. They are conducting a thorough investigation in order to ensure that my experience will be an anomaly. Overall, I am very pleased with my experience with Banner University Medical staff and facility
I had surgery (my first ever) here last year and the experience was seamless from start to finish. My Dr. was wonderful and so was the staff. No complaints. It seems as though many of the complaints here are about the ER and/or waiting room. If you come into an ER, you have to wait if your condition isn't life-threatening. Go to urgent care if you want to be seen immediately. It's called triage. And FFS, quit whining.
I called a doctor near me for a chest pain. She asked me to go to ER. Banner University Medical Center ER took me in the room and put me on the EKG, blood tests as soon as I finished writing my name. They did not even see my ID or insurance card at that point. They did several other tests after three hours. Good manners. Fast treatment. Thank you!
Not a very caring hospital I had to give it one star to be able to write this review. My male nurse had a really bad bed side manner. So much so my husband called the head nurse to come see me then I only saw my new nurse when it was time to be discharged. I would rather have went to a county hospital. The nurse did something to my vein so I can't really bend my arm
Do not go to this hospital if you can help it. They don t care about patients or family and should have their license revoked. This is our third, and last time we will go here. All of our experiences were/are horrible. I m changing insurance to make sure I never get stuck with this place. The people are stupid, uncaring, and give you no information until it is too late. Every single person we dealt with, except the doctors, have been incredibly insensitive, and rude. STAY AWAY!!!
I went to the hospital emergency for a severe headache / a fall that I had few days prior and the total experience was very positive. From the initial admitting process, seeing the doctor then getting a CT scan. All involved were helpful, professional and caring. It was my first visit to this hospital in several years and my whole experience very satisfying. The ER Doctor was Dr Kevin Fordell.
I had an emergency Double By-Pass at this hospital preformed by Dr. Kevin Brady. I was very scared but Dr Brady made me feel safe. He told me that he does these all the time. His bedside manner was calming and confident. He was awesome. The staff here at the hospital were outstanding. I actually hated to leave because they treated me so well. But because I was doing so well I was able to leave after 3 days. I can't say enough praise about the staff and service. They took excellent care of me and were very attentive to my every need. I never had to wait for anything. Thank you!
I was admitted through the er. Ontop of being in agonizing pain due to gallstones i found a admissioms guy by the name of devon yelling at me even when the security got involved he still continued to Say things to me and yell. He thought yelling at the guards her gone they would jump on it at least they had since to listen to reason. Nothing was done he got away with yelling at me embarrassing me and not being caring at all. The only reason i am giving a three is because i loved my nurses in the surgery center. When a staff member is yelling at a patient they should be immediately removed from the floor. I would file a formal complaint but no one offered anything up. Also my surgen was awesome would not reccommend er unless absolutely nessecsary
First of all you all don't deserve 1 bit of a star, there should be no stars option for you so call Banner and the University medical center, none of you medical peoples, no one in your department has no idea what family means when one of the members are there in your care. All reviews says about Banner medical staff. We even had the worst of worst experience with the Banner. You want to know what it was, you probably just going to say I'm sorry, word sorry has no sympathy whatsoever but your make money of people, so take care of them, be honest and be careful, God is watching you
NO NEED TO RESPOND BACK I KNOW YOUR ANSWER REPOSTING was taken off
