Aquarium of the Americas Review

Expensive but fun. (Check prices before, online prices say cheaper) also it is faster to buy tickets online than stand in a line. When we went 2 areas where under construction so that kind of sucked. But the bird area was awesome, favorite area by far.

The interactive exhibits (feeding stingrays and budgies) were very fun; otherwise nice, but relatively small (think the Insectarium was a little more interesting); movie included with the ticket was fine (surprisingly large theater, but the screening we chose was puffy without a lot of documentary content).

A little smaller than I had expected, particularly for the price of the tickets, but still a great time.

Doing a great job dealing with COVID rules. We checked in for our preset time with no issue and the smaller crowd made for a more enjoyable visit.

The renovation is looking great but it would be nice if they upgraded the bathroom to be kid friendly. Even though there is a step for kids they need to be almost 4ft to reach the sink with it. The urinals and toliets are also not little kid friendly. It would be great if they went to LCM for ideas to make the bathroom more kid friendly.

Had a great time with my son. Lots of things to see. We did the virtual game and it was really cute.

Cool place. Great for kids. Kind of on the smaller side so you will to have other attractions to see for the day

Several exhibits are being updated, those that are open are very nice. Staff is great

It had a lot of interesting sea life. I really enjoyed feeding the sting rays. It was crowded, but it is a Sunday.

Nice aquarium to take a leisurely stroll through. Great for kids young and old.

Easy location to get to, fair price for the experience.

Only have 4 stars and not 5 because the gift shop should have more adult gifts. Very limited selection for adults and mainly geared towards children. More postcards would be fun!

Best Zoo Ever!

I went to this zoo as a child. I remember Monkey Hill fondly. The tallest place in New Orleans!

I brought my daughter this zoo when she was a child.

We would take a homeschool field trip here almost every year. Even now, my kids have such fond memories of it that they ask to go every time they come to visit me!

And they are adults now!

We finally decided to break the bank and visit the zoo as a family when my granddaughter was 8 months old!

We had such fun! Discovering everything a new through her eyes!!

I think we re just gonna have to splurge and make it a family adventure every year and I m sure my granddaughter will have fond memories of it as well.

Tip to the wise: Get a group together of 10 or more and you can get tickets for three dollars each. Unless they change the price which could happen because they ve made so many improvements this is just the best zoo ever!!!

I am cereal!

I ve been to other servers in Colorado Abilene Baton Rouge. All the other zoos I ve been too are so disappointing they just don t measure up to the spectacularness of this Zoo!

The animals are in wide open spaces so you can see them clearly you don t have to see them through bars and they re well cared. They are happy!

It makes all the difference when the animals are happy and they re such wonderful floor and phone around you that it really is like taking a vacation in the middle of New Orleans.

The aquarium has been one of my favorites since I was a small child. I can now see that love in my kids as well. It's really a must do while you're in the city. They are in the middle of a remodel right now so it leaves a little to be desired until the new exhibits are up and running. I'm sure they will be great once finished.

Some nice fish. Sea otter was fun. Some exhibits seemed to be halfway installed or dismantled, some tanks were too dark to see anything. I don't feel it was worth the admission price.

Such a beautiful aqurim, coming from a dive master. Very interactive for the kids, amazing and clean displays for all to enjoy. Highlight of the vacation

Great aquarium, very well maintained and friendly staff.

I came here when I was walking around the city and was surprised with a sudden downpour. I am so glad I came. This aquarium is so beautiful and educational. It is located along the Mississippi River and not far from the French Quarter. I especially enjoyed the Caribbean Reef tunnel. Plan to spend several hours in this amazing aquarium filled with aquatic life unimaginable.

If you want pressed pennies, they are throughout the building but the best ones are at the front gift shop!

Wonderful place for my sons wedding. Lots of beautiful backgrounds for pictures o fr any kind.

Good place to burn a few hours. Otters and penguins on display.

It's ok. Not amazing, but the kids enjoyed it. $25 per ticket for kids - we couldn't have stayed much more than 3 hours - not enough to do for a full day.

Nice place to visit. I especially love the Imax theater!

It was way overcrowded and people do not take turns letting others view the exhibits...it was stressful. Also their Red Tail Hawk was so stressed he was pulling out his own feathers. It saddened me, also...way overpriced!

I would have enjoyed the Audubon Experience much more if it had all been in one location. Having to go downtown was not worth the headache. At least we saw it once because we will never visit again.

An amazing aquarium lots to see spent around 2 and half hours and took like 100 pictures the bird feeding is fun until they start climbing in ya pockets

We love going to the aquarium. We are super excited they will adding more.

We have been twice now, and had a wonderful experience both times. The animals are amazing to see, especially the penguins! We enjoyed the movie on the big screen, and all the staff we interacted with were friendly and helpful. The bathrooms were clean and well-maintained, and you could tell the exhibits are well kept. Short wait at the ticket counter, not as bad as I expected. The gift shop is well organized and clean, with a wide selection of souvenirs and great stuff for kids. I would recommend making this one of your must-sees on a trip to NOLA!

The stingrays are so cute actually all of the animals are cute the place is so kid friendly and clean

Monday was slow time able to view and watch 3D movie. Lovely time for 5th graders Pearl Watson Elementary

At no time did I think the fish should be let free, except that one time but that's only because I was looking at the tank wrong. Otherwise, good going on keeping these fish and such alive.

Have loved this place both times I have went. The kids loved it too. There is so many exhibits and a variety of stuff to see. A place to eat and 2 gift shops. The people are always friendly and willing to help. There is a elevator for strollers or wheel chairs. It's fun for all ages... Just can get a bit pricey with tickets and parking.

Nice experience as always, very good selection of wildlife. I love seeing the white alligator as well as the Penguins. It seems to have gotten a little more expensive than last time, two people will run you about $60. They will throw a free IMAX movie and, unfortunately that movie is only about 24 minutes long. All in all, a good experience but have if you've never been there.

We had a great visit at the Aquarium! This was top of the line. Very much recommended!!

Great adventure. Was some what annoyed at how the penguins were banging their beaks against the glass when people were present. Should be displayed in a less stressful enviroment that, que the St. Louis zoo on penguins. The owl & hawk could be better displayed, more humane.
Even with those two things it was a great adventure.

A great place to visit! Maybe not as much variety as possible in Atlanta, but very worthy. Excellent specimens, friendly staff, being in New Orleans is one of the places to visit)

It's ok, a small-ish aquarium! Easy to go through in a few hours. There's not of information signs about the animals. Pretty dark aquarium!

This is a great aquarium. Used to come here for school when I was younger and they have something for everyone. Check out the penguins.

I'm from Lafayette Louisiana and visited the aquarium when I was a kid. I recently went back, and I was amazed! This really is a quality museum with great sealife and exhibits

I've loved this place since I was little and I'm glad to now take my son to enjoy the aquarium! Always fun!

Not too big, fair price, nice tropical greenhouse, greenhouse with parakeets to feed funny and the edge of the Mississippi and its wildlife to see. To do absolutely!

Nice facility. Lots of interactive fun for the kiddos. Walk through tunnel was really cool. Would be 5 stars if it wasn't for the price. Even with the military discount or was just shy of $100 for 2 adults and 2 kids ages 3 & 7.

Great for the entire family, had so much fun a little expensive for me though. Location really close by the parking and make sure to get your ticket stamped by the information for a 5$ off take a picture of the map to save paper. Everybody was nice and helpful. We missed the birds section by the food court so we ended up going back Coz we wanna make sure we explore everything. It was fun!
