We took our 2 year old grandson and he really enjoyed it. We had a ball.
Very nice place. Lots of fish that we don't see very often.
So much to see and do! As with any aquarium or museum, you can expect to spend a good bit of money. It's fairly expensive, but they have so much to maintain.
The variety of marine life was impressive. We saw and learned about so many things. Our group had all of the major age groups represented, and not a single one of us was bored or unimpressed. There was a children's play area that was an unexpected surprise, and gave our kids a chance to play while the grown-ups got to sit and relax a bit.
The whole facility was well maintained, perfectly air-conditioned (we all know that matters in the summer!), and a wonderful fun and educational experience. We could not have asked for more!
Wonderful place for families, kids, and singles. Aquarium price is $29 for adults which include one movie. The movie we saw was the dinosaurs. It was an excellent 3D movie about a half an hour long. Didn't do any feedings, but will next time.
They really need to redesign this place, modernize it and bring in a larger tank to incorporate some larger mammals like a Whale shark and more rare sea creatures, this place was once the largest of it's kind and one that other cities modeled their Aquariums after but The Georgia Aquarium put the breaks on Aquarium of America's when it opened and dropped a giant behemoth beast into their tank and designed their building for growth and modern upgrades, the only thing bad about Ga Aquarium is its in the middle of nowhere and it look more like a giant church and less like an aquarium on the outside however the only saving grace to visit this aquarium of America's is that you get to leave out to a vibrant exciting city with lots to do and your right by the riverwalk that's being revitalized to be skateboard parks, a huge jogging/ river viewing path, interactive ground water fountain, courts, shopping centers and condo's, where in Atlanta you walk back to your car and go home because there's nothing around for MILES!
Very nice. But in all fairness. It's way over priced. And then you have this company jacking up parking prices in the French quarter. $22.00 for an hour to park???? REALLY!?!? THEN IF YOU DONT GET BACK TO YOUR CAR IN TIME THEY BOOT YOU!! serious people. We have to stop this.
This is a very cool place to go. It is a little pricey to get in. I got tickets half off from our local radio station website. Your ticket does include one free movie in their theatre. They have a few different movies and times to choose from. They have different exhibits such as parokeet point, Mississippi river, gulf coast and more. You can watch them feed the penguins. You can also pay a little bit to get some food to feed the sting rays. They have a section where you can touch sting rays. There is a food court where you can grab a quick bite to eat. All of the staff were friendly and helpful. Will definitely go again at some point in the future. They do not have parking but you can park in a public parking lot close by and they will validate $5 off of your parking fee.
Very nice very huge place! Good variety of sea creatures!
Beautiful Aquarium! So much to see. A great place to take your whole family. They even have a 3D theater was great educational films that adults and children will love. The scenery is tranquil as well and the staff are very friendly.
Awful, tourist trap, nothing to see.wasnt even raining and the bird exhibit was closed. Won't be back.
Beautiful place. I suggest going around 4pm when nobody's in there and kids aren't on fieldtrips
To be able to touch the Sting Ray's was great, the penguins were lovely to see but for the cost I cant say I'd do it again. Going to Pet Smart wouldve been just as exciting although they dont have sting Ray's. Overall I think they could have had more.
It Was A Adventure For My Granddaughter To See The Animals..
This is one of the jewels of New Orleans. I visited the imax theater as well as the aquarium. I had a good experience at both venues.
Kids love it... need to add a little food court like they did years ago
Had a great time going here with my niece and nephew, it was my first time but they have been several. I enjoyed seeing them get so excited when they would see each animal and wanted to make sure I saw it as well. It's a great family experience, there were a lot of families there that day and everyone was clearly enjoying themselves. Would go again for sure
Fun and relaxing, they are doing some renovations currently so not all areas are open.
Very nice place to bring the kids! You can feed the birds and touch the stingrays. It was smaller then it looks, but still very nice.
Spent a good portion of the day here. Hand fed some birds, hung out with penguins. Very interesting mix of aquatic animals here. Stayed for a movie after visit which was extremely informative. So much to see here, I will be back!
Kind of small for the price perhaps I'm comparing it to ATL aquarium.... however, the red beans and rice, and shrimp poboy was so yum.
Awesome place! They have a birds exhibit and have such beautiful animals. there's also a exhibit where you can feed it to stingrays. Apparently they are planning an additional shark exhibit which will be so cool. I enjoyed the penguin demonstration. I wanted to do the penguin interaction experience but wasn't excited about having to share the experience with strangers at the cost it was.
Fantastic aquarium. Can get very busy, but I highly recommend the behind-the-scenes penguin experience! It s worth every penny for a once in a lifetime experience.
Overpriced, for a relatively small aquarium. Better if you have small children. Older teens will be bored. The 3D Imax movie was nice, but not worth the nearly $30 admission price. Spend your tourist dollars elsewhere...
The aquarium has updated recently. That's good and bad. Good because it keeps visits interesting. Bad because now more and more of the attractions have an additional cost. It was $70 for me and my two children to get in. We didn't pay for any of the additional attractions. My girls, 5 and 7, had a great time. We were engaged for about three hours.
Wonderful experience! The pictures I took don't do it justice. It's an amazing experience.
My 6mo daughter is obsessed with the fish here. I've visited a lot of aquariums Ashlie over America and some in Europe and have never found another aquarium that compares to this one. It is big enough to make it an all day event with plenty of amazing sights, but not so big that you will be sore by the end. You can take your time and mosey from exhibit to exhibit enjoying every strange and beautiful creature you see. They have some very exciting themes like a Louisiana swamp theme and a rainforest theme and decorated and immersive. Get a membership and plan to visit the aquarium and zoo multiple times in a year, so you don't have to miss anything or rush through.
We saw some amazing creatures, and had a great time. Also took some beautiful pictures, and had an overall wonderful experience. The only reason I'm not giving 5 stars is because the Amazon section of the aquarium was a bit lacking. It was missing some of the animals that were advertised.
Our kids loved it. So did we. Fees the birds! We loved that and the IMAX.
Wonderful place to take the family! Spectacular exhibits.
Just okay for $30.. not as big as we thought.. it does include a pass for a 3D Imax movie .. one time to experience is enough.
The aquarium had a good collection of fishes, and feeding shows. They have a stingray touch pool to let the general public pat the stingrays, it is a beautiful experience! They also have a parakeet feeding area where people can feed the birds. The geographically sorted assembly of aquatic creatures is great!
Educational, well-kept, and impressive exhibits. Good mix of local gulf marine life with exotic coral and fish species. Definitely one of the nicer aquariums I've ever been to.
Seemed a little over priced but still a great experience for the family. Conveniently located near parking and the Riverwalk.
We visited the zoo as well the distance between the 2 facilities was annoying but WE loved them both.
Awesome Aquarium!! It is well cared for and have very unique fish in the tanks. I especially loved the stingray exhibit. The only down side is that they close at 5pm. Something that we did not know going in at 3:45, so we didn't really get our money's worth or make it through each exhibit, They should really point out the closing time if you are buying tickets late in the day.
The aquarium was okay. The zoo was much more impressive. They charged for every little thing at the aquarium and it was all over priced.
Wonderful aquarium. I went here during my honeymoon trip and it was worth admission. The coolest thing in my opinion was the leucistic alligator
They had soooo much information on all their animals and their natural habitats I couldn't get to it all. The habitats were well kept, and the animals were cozy. Their hawk and owl were awsome to see, and I now know how big an otter is . Sad to see that they're not doing so hot on visitor numbers, we were really hoping to get to the insecterium but they are permanently closed. Hope they get the finances soon!
Staff members are very helpful and knowledgeable about the animals
They have beautiful exhibits and they are working on a new shark section. I love visiting the otters and penguins too. And a lot of their seahorses are very pregnant right now so there's going to be a bunch of babies soon
It was very nice but wasnt as big as i thought it would be. Kinda very fast walk through only took a hour and a half. Imax was amazing though.
One of the better aquirums i have been to i mean it was great but can top atlanta aquarium
Great value when using the audobon experience tickets. Unfortunately the shark area was closed when I visited, but did get to see the penguin feeding! The parakeets atrium was my favorite part.
The staff is awesome. variety of fish and submarine creatures. Clean and kids friendly. The location is amazing. it's next to the French Quarter, Mississippi river, Riverwalk Mall, cruise ships, and many attractive sites in New Orleans.
After visiting the aquarium numerous times over the years, I have finally experienced the backstage penguin pass! It was the best day I've had in quite a long time. I learned quite a bit about the back operations of the aquarium. The new stingray and shark pool sounds really amazing when it opens next spring!
Nice 2 story aquarium. Several themes from the Americas. Huge screen showing nature movies. Some in 3d. Under water glass tunnel.
The facility was very hands on and informative. The staff was passionate about whatever it was they were doing. Joy at the customer service desk was very personable and Steven with the penguins took his role very serious. Excellent time! Thank you!

Pretty expensive for what you get. Yeah the displays are nice but it's so small. You'll be in and out of this place in no time.
Great fun and educational . Great for the whole family
They had a variety of fish and they were fun to look at. The only thing I didn't like was that there were few tanks with dirty water and it seemed as though they do not clean often..
Great place to take kids. So much to see. Very well kept. Only drawback is parking is not included. It will cost you at least $7 or so. I highly recommend visiting this place, especially with children, if you're in New Orleans.
Great location Amazing view on the riverfront good food & tons of different tropical fishes excellent place for adults& children
