Yesterday and today (Sept 24 & 25) I had two important electrical projects handled by your wonderful staff Devyn and Cody. Yesterday they installed my crystal chandeliers that we had picked up when we were stationed in Europe. It literally took them the entire day as our house is over 40 years old and some rooms don't have any electrical outlets. They did the required work and had everything covered so as not to make a mess on the furniture. Afterwards, they vacuumed the work areas. Also, there was very little drywall damage and I was already forewarned by Carter when he came to do my electrical inspection and I asked him about the chandelier installation that there would be some. Today Devyn and Cody showed up to hard wire some smoke and carbon monoxide alarms in all our bedrooms upstairs. They went through the attic and worked their way down to the bedrooms, the hallway, the main floor and finally the basement. Now our home is safe and I have peace of mind. Both of these staff members were very polite and knew their job. I was telling Devyn I'm so surprised that such a young man like himself has so much electrical knowledge and expertise. He should be promoted to Master Electrician- the guy knows his stuff. Again we always love our Appleton Campbell experience. So far we've been using your services for 4 years and we will continue to do so as all your staff are professionals and we always feel that you will do a great job. The Appleton Campbell team was able to priority schedule us late on a Sunday afternoon to get our heat back up and running on a cold February day.

Glenn fixed several electrical issues we were having. He was polite and caring and went above and beyond the call of duty. He even remembered personal details from a conversation we had a year earlier. We will be requesting Glenn for all of our electrical needs in the future.

Excellent experience starting with meeting David Forney who presented us the options that led to our choice of electing to replace our16 year old original
A/C Units. We then upon having 2 portable window units supplied prior to installation then two crew teams arrive in 7 days planned early morning arrival just as expected. The position of the outdoor units & the indoor basement units following the removal of the old ones was well with in the planned 7-8 hours.

Liam was very professional and very informative of what must be done to identify the location of a water leak behind drywall. He was very thorough with his work and kept me abreast of the work status. He did a wonderful job and cleaned up after the job was completed. Had a technician named Seth do annual maintenance on our oil-fired low-pressure hot water heating system and on our summer air conditioners as well. His work was completed in a professional manner and he explained in clear terms what he was doing and why he was doing the steps he performed. I would peg this young man as an asset to Appleton Campbell's workforce.

This company's prices are an absolute rip-off, and they will try to take advantage of you if they think they can. We had an issue with our whole house water softener, and prior to this I never bothered to learn much about the system and had another company come out periodically to maintain it. Our usual company was unavailable for a repair in a reasonable time frame, so we called Appleton Campbell for a quote on fixing the problem. The sales person who came out did a bunch of tests and seemed to do a thorough job, but he basically tried to convince us we needed all kinds of things done that weren't needed and stated the cost would be $2500 for a band-aid fix and $15,000 for a replacement system. That's right, $15,000 for a WATER SOFTENER. You can buy a pretty nice system and install it yourself for less than $2500.

This salesperson tried to convince me that the pressure tank the other company installed 2 years ago (which was still under warranty) wasn't large enough for our house and that we needed a new one, which was total BS. He backpedaled on that a little bit when he talked to my husband on the phone, but that claim literally made no sense to begin with. We had no pressure issues until the week prior, and 2 different companies we got quotes from had already come out and said there with nothing wrong with the pressure tank. He also tried hinting that our hot water heater was old and could go at any time (it's very easy to install a hot water heater). He tried to explain to me how the water softener system functioned and was essentially trying to charge us a ton of money to re-bed the system, which as it turns out isn't difficult to DIY. He made it sound like something difficult. I realize that's what contractors do, but at least don't charge some completely outrageous price. The same work he quoted for $2500 was quoted at $750 by a smaller well company. That's a HUGE discrepancy. It was still a lot of money, so we actually ended up researching and doing the work ourselves. Now that I understand how the system works and how easy certain things are, I won't be paying anyone to work on it for simple things (like re-bedding or refilling calcite) again. So I guess in a way I have Appleton Campbell to thank for that.

I am fully aware that there is a high markup on labor costs for plumbing work. I just don't appreciate contractors who try to take advantage of people who don't know enough about what they're paying for. I guess the moral of the story is, learn about how the things in your house work so you don't get fleeced. Oh, and the sales people for Appleton Campbell work on commission, so be aware of that. They probably do good work, but you will pay way, way too much for it.

I would like to thank KEVIN, CARTER, DAVID, and FRANKLIN. The service provided by these employees of Appleton Campbell was the best. They not only provided quality service, they were very sincere in their desire to assist my parents in returning water to their home. Both of my parents are disabled and were in desperate need of well pump and tank repair and installation and these guys were on the job with heart. Appleton Campbell is a company with professionalism, courtesy, and an old fashioned model of humanity and integrity. It may seem like a bit much to say but I feel it is very true that they came to my parents home doing God's work and an incredible job they did. I felt that it was more personal and gave me a sense that this is a company that does not operate solely for profit but work for the satisfaction and needs of their clients. I would recommend them to anyone who needs a repair or installation or inspection of any type. If you want the job done right and enjoy down to earth conversation and hospitality then choose Appleton Campbell.

Glenn was very professional and friendly. He troubleshooted the issue and it was fixed in less than 5 minutes. This was my first time using Appleton Campbell, but I will use again in the future. Also, want to mention, called and got an appointment right away and he was here in

We have had numerous jobs conducted by Appleton Campbell including electrical work and HVAC replacements. We now have a near-state of the art HVAC system with humidity control, air scrubbing and a very high efficiency handler, blower and thermostats. Our techs Tyler and Josiah ran a complete check of our system and did a thorough job of maintenance and follow-up.

On the electrical side, Glenn and Dylan went over our house with a fine tooth comb and pointed out some issues to meet codes and standards. All the people have been professional, arrived on time, courteous and helpful. Would highly recommend.

Chris was extremely professional. He showed up on time with a mask and booties. He looked at our entire system took his time to explain things and not only did he do a great job, he did it for less than we expected. He fixed our issue within minutes but he didn't want to just leave our place without finding anything else. He diagnosed our condenser and confirmed that we had a pressure problem as we suspected. He did an outstanding job, and I don't say that about many. The guarantee alone is worth talking to this company.

Steven and stewart were professional and polite. They were efficient and trustworthy. I even had to run out for a bit and felt perfectly comfortable leaving them to their work.

Due to a leaking fuel tank, I decided to replace my oil furnace, in my 170 yr old house in the historic district ,with a gas boiler. It was a challenging job. Two other firms turned the job down as "too complicated". Appleton & Campbell had been doing the maintenance on my oil burner so i called them. They sent a very knowledgeable, competent person out to give me a free estimate. He was very thorough and realistic about what they could and could not do. When I nearly fainted over the cost he was very helpful and explained various financing options that might help me. The two technicians who came to do the installation were fabulous. They had to bring a special truck to lift the old furnace out through the coal chute, in the rain. They were careful of my floors, made sure they kept me apprised of their progress and informed me when there were challenges and what the solution would be. They were knowledgeable and methodical and went out of their way not to inconvenience my tennant. The job took two days and involved replacing my inadequate gas line as well as the furnace. The electronic thermostat that I had requested did not make it on the first work order so another tech had to return to install it. They were very accommodating in scheduling the return visit, working around my schedule and the technicians who installed it were equally knowledgeable and helpful. They showed me how to work it and made certain that it was synched with my internet and wi-fi before leaving. I'd like to personally thank Chris, Jason, Micah, the other Jason and Nick for a job well done and for making what was an unpleasant household emergency a lot less painful and difficult to navigate.

Update, 12/16/2018: Appleton Campbell returned recently to perform routine maintenance on our gas furnace and to diagnose an annoying metal-on-metal scraping sound emanating from one of the ductwork dampers. The tech took the time to thoroughly inspect the damper, figured out the cause, and fixed the problem. He also went above and beyond in getting our humidifier unit up and running. AC continues to be my go-to for HVAC work. Highly recommended!

AC performed routine maintenance on our air conditioner and did a wonderful job, as always. Our technician was knowledgeable, detailed in his assessment and recommendations, and extremely friendly. We've been customers for several years now and will continue to go with them for all of our HVAC needs.

The tech that came to my parent s house David went above and beyond to get the AC working. My father s health required us to get the AC working that day and Appleton delivered. Thank you!

Updating my review. Definitely keeping the 5 stars but want to call attention to the work that Shane and Dylan did today. Just outstanding! Recommend them and Appleton Campbell tenfold.

I have used Appleton-Campbell in the past and was very happy as I was with their most recent service. Kenny was super personable and knowledgeable in locating the issues - and there were a few! Keith and Austin were very professional and took care of everything after the initial diagnosis'. I liked the extra steps they took to use drop cloths and door mats and PPE for this visit. Overall I am very pleased!

Jason and Micah did a wonderful job replacing my old builder grade HVAC system today. They explained everything they were doing (before, during, and after), answered all my questions, and were very professional and thorough in their work. They went the extra mile to make sure I was happy with my new purchase!

Chris came to do a follow up to an air/furnace he recommend and installed last year. Very thorough, knowledgeable and a pleasure to work with we are pleased with him - and the unit he installed. Even our YorkiPoo likes him.

November of this year - Had Shane, Tim, Julius and Devyn come in and replace existing Square D electric breaker with a Cutler Hammer breaker panel and breakers along with generator input and house surge protection. Also updated with system ground to gas line and outside ground rods and labeled all circuits on panel. Team was very professional, knowledgeable, and courteous cleaning up as they left.

Update 3/19/21: Reid Colbert did my binannual HSA inspection/HVAC service today; I have to once again express my gratitude for his professionalism and expertise. He took the time to explain exactly what was going on with my current system and what my options and cost would look like for a replacement. Five star customer service!
Very impressed with the well-rounded professionalism of this company! I started with a leak in my kitchen sink, which my plumber, Kenny Mills, fixed in seconds. Kenny also did a thorough inspection and patiently answered any questions I had.
Then, I ended up signing up for the Home Service Agreement including HVAC and electrical as well, and I was so glad I did! It offered me a discount on the toilet I got impeccably installed in my master bath. I didn't think it mattered, but I'm so glad I selected the Toto toilet Kenny recommended!
As it was today, my electrician, Glenn Griffin, came this morning for the HSA routine inspection and provided a report much more thorough than my pre-purchase home inspection, and he resolved two wiring issues that had been puzzling other technicians since I moved in! A loose wire had been causing my well pump to intermittently fail or be slow to turn on, and another had been causing a strobe light effect in my basement. The home service agreement was well worth it just for these fixes, but Glenn also diagnosed the reason for my HVAC system leak and helped me get scheduled for same day service! Mike Wright installed my condensate pump and routed it to drain into my laundry drainage pipe so I no longer have to stress about my floor drain clogging and overflowing again! Grateful for the time and expertise of these professionals!

Savannah answered my call with such a friendly, helpful attitude, and within an hour, she had WT at my home to help solve my well pump issue. He spent as much time as I needed, patiently answering my questions. He is so knowledgeable and professional. I will absolutely use Appleton Campbell as my first go to for plumbing and electrical needs!

Had to call Appleton Campbell due to frozen outside spigots. The temps were on in the 20's, but they sent two guys out within three hours of my call. The plumbers offered me a couple options and gave me an estimate up front. The job was done to my satisfaction, in a timely manner, and I appreciated the professional approach that was used. I would definitely call them again in the future. (Also, they like dogs and that helped a lot .)

Another great and professional job by another Appleton-Campbell team -- this time it was Ethan and Jason (Williams), a pleasure to have in our home. With a one-day notice, they replaced a faltering 25-year-old HVAC system and did so in the midst of the coldest two weeks that Northern Virginia has experienced in decades.

I had Appleton Campbell come in to install a ceiling fan and repair a bad switch. Shane and Eulises were professional and extremely helpful. They were informative of every step they took to repair our fan, going as far as letting us know that they did not need to install a box to stabilize the ceiling fan as it had already been properly installed through a different method. I sincerely recommend using this company and specifically requesting Shane and Eulises.

Danny Rounds was our tech and he was so very helpful in answering my questions as it related to the job, knowledgeable and professional. From beginning to end a great experience! Thanks guys!

Chris did the PM on our heat pump and furnace. Very thorough ,courteous, knowledgeable, and answered my questions about a new heating and ac system. Roger, Stuart, and Zak installed the new furnace and ac compressor. There were very knowledgeable, efficient, courteous, professional, and also answered all my questions.

We have used AC for 15+ years. Their HSA program is outstanding, get biannual system inspections and priority service for emergencies. Office staff is always friendly and helpful. Technicians are real pros, know what is/ is not needed and never try to hard sell on any repairs. We are especially pleased with Ronnie and ask for him specifically for HVAC service. He is friendly, effective and efficient at his work. Always a pleasure to see him and we know the job is done right. Have seen some reviews AC is high priced. They may be compared to some other firms but in this case you get what you pay for...world class equipment and services.

20 April 2018...as part of HSA we had plumbing inspection on Wed. Danny had not been out before but we instantly want him back... he brought our newspaper in with him from front of driveway (300 from house so saved us a hike ). He spent 2 hours doing detailed look at all plumbing and left us with many good hints on keeping things flowing . Got a follow up call from office next day to check in our satisfaction. Just one more in a long line of AC world class customer service.

27 August 2018...Chad and Hollie just installed our new tankless water heater. They spent 8+ hours putting it in....right! When Chad explained they had some things to work around ( County code, house construction) and it would take more time than originally stated, I told him please take the time to do it right. He quickly agreed that AC policy is just that, don t rush just to save time it s a long term relationship with the customer. Exactly why we have been with AC for so long. Would repeat above note about being a bit more expensive than other firms but we still feel we get what we pay for...professional techs who do the job right and high quality equipment that exceeds expectations for performance and reliability. Danny was the one who came out last week to do temporary repair of 10 year old heater and who walked us thru getting the Navien NPE-240A tankless heater. In discussions on cost he was able to provide better pricing due to our HSA agreement and financing. Bottom line, another quality AC experience.

2 April 2019....and the great customer service keeps getting better. Ronnie, our long time preferred tech and Steven came out for the Spring system check. As always they were friendly and more than helpful. Ronnie went above and beyond his usual level of service. Each year we put mouse traps in the attic given the usual Winter visitors. We always clean the traps out before the techs arrive, unfortunately this year due to a recent medical procedure I could not climb the ladder so Ronnie disposed of the full traps around the HVAC unit. What world class service. He also has been monitoring mold in the unit and showed pictures of how it is expanding over the last few visits.He worked with us to get a UV light installed at a great price. What a super experience, not just someone who pushes upgrades but takes the time to monitor the problem and pass on status including when the issue reaches a tipping point. We truly trust him and AC not to just sell us stuff but to work with us for needed improvements.

My husband Buck and I are always pleased with the service of Appleton Campbell and especially with our technician Bill Dooly.

Shane, Carter and E upgraded our breaker box today and they were absolutely wonderful. Shane and Carter made a point to answer every question we had and explain every step of the process. Shane took the time with his wiring to make it very organized instead of how our original wiring was done. Every time they noticed something that the builders did incorrectly, they were quick to address it. We can t say enough good things about these guys. We have been Appleton Campbell customers for 14 years and will never go to another company.

Devlyn replaced the disconnect switch on HVAC unit and he performed a total electrical inspection throughout our home. Excellent service . We call Appleton Campbell for all of our household needs from HVAC to sump pump and beyond. They re a professional group of technicians who arrive on time, complete the job and respect your home.

We had Appleton Campbell re plumb our whole house. The houses in our neighborhood used the old Quest piping and over the years we had developed several leaks. Luckily, we had caught them in time before too much major damage had been done. A month ago, we had another one- which caved in the bathroom ceiling downstairs. Enough was enough!
Appleton Campbell did a fantastic job and the crew was exceptionally professional. I would highly recommend Appleton Campbell! And when it comes time to replace our furnace and heat pump, we'll use them again.

David Forney, Roger and Jake installed our new furnace quickly and professionally. They moved what they needed to move, put everything back, protected our carpet and cleaned everything up. They taught my husband how to use the new thermostat and were very courteous. We've used AC for 18 years and they've always been reasonable and professional.
