I went to this store last weekend with my friend who is looking for a wedding dress that won't be needed until mid March next year. While the presentation of the dresses on display is matching of the price tag of the majority of the gowns in this store, I was taken aback by the expensive prices of the dresses and the absolutely horrible and totally uncouth demonstration of customer service. When the consultant (who did not make her name clear) arrived to talk to the bride, she footed herself in front of me and pushed me to the side. While I understand that the bride is the first to be greeted I do not understand why the consultant saw it fit to side glance me and with her back facing me, be so bold as to say "so who are you?" without any formal introduction, greeting or announcement. In addition to the lack of sheer respect and manners on behalf of the consultant, she did not do ANY of the things that one would expect from a consultant. She stood around checking her phone and looking at other customers. I was the one who had to help my friend walk across the floor with the dresses and lay out the trains for her as the consultant did neither of these things. When my friend asked about different styles of bustles that she could try with the dresses the consultant simply ignored her question and gave her no answer. I was the one who gave her a break down on bustles and even showed her what they would look like, again something the consultant should have done. When she saw that I was performing her job duties and all she could say was that they are currently hiring. Also pay close attention to the gowns they make you try on. The gowns my friend tried on were off the rack but they were extremely frayed at the seams, the beading was falling off in chunks and the appliques on the dress were torn off the bodice. When I asked if they would repair the damages on the dress or offer another one, again the consultant did not have an answer for us only that the dress was 20% off and over $1100. As if that wasn't enough insult to injury, the man whom I assume is the owner came up to us and began to pressure my friend into buying the torn, sullied and frayed wedding gown in the exact same fashion that a used car salesman would push a pitiful sale on somebody. He continued to drone on about how "such a unique dress at this steal of a price will be soon gone and you'll regret it because you won't find any others like it anywhere else", completely ignoring the massive cosmetic damages on the dress for over $1100. He went so far as to take my phone out of my hands and start scrolling through my pictures in a vain attempt to push the sale onto my friend. In addition to this, when I was alone on the sales floor the same man approached me trying to pressure me into a bridesmaid gown. I politely declined his offer and markedly stated that we were not at the store that day to make a purchase and we would NOT be making any purchases if he continued to pester us. In the end, the consultant never gave my friend her dress measurement, every dress she showed us was almost a grand over budget despite our constant reminders that she was exceeding our price range, the dress we were offered was worth $450 at best and the customer service and sales tactics of the staff are just horrible and perhaps they should reconsider a career in used car sales rather than bridal couture. Ladies, be aware that at Anya's Bridal you will be served with used car dealership courtesy, sold a used looking gown for the price of a decent used sedan and all important information such as sizing, availability and styling will be withheld from you until you cave in to their pressures of dropping over two grand on one of the most important pieces of clothing you'll ever wear. So if you like to be treated like an idiot and given the used car dealer sleazy salesman pitch, this is the bridal boutique for you. Don't be fooled by the Defoor Ave. locale., you'll be treated as if you were in a Bankhead used car dealership.
