It was very sobering to see the house where the Frank family went into hiding. What is even more sobering is that this family and this remarkable girl were just one example of the six million Jews that were murdered by the Nazis and their supporters

A must do experience. If you're at all familiar with the Anne Frank's story being here will be a life changing experience. Buy your tickets on line and get here at least 15 minutes early. There's always a line.

The only reason I give this three stars is that I believe that more people should be informed about making their bookings online. I spoke to many people waiting who didn't even realise that was an option! As an experience it was incredible to emerge myself into Anne's world in such an organised and informative way! I would definitely recommend this experience but book in advance to spare yourself the wait!

The staff was very helpful when I had a problem with my ticket. The audio tour is very informative and I liked how it activated in every room. The only disappointment was the modern look of the new museum rooms. It would have felt more authentic to upgrade it but keep it looking like the correct timeframe. It creates a disconnect. I was happy to have gone though. It was my main reason for visiting Amsterdam.

I absolutely loved visiting the Anne Frank house! It was so interesting and a great insight into her life from a different perspective of the diary! They give you audio boxes which you can use in each room and they tell you alot of great information. There isn't too many people at once so it's not overcrowded! Make sure you book your tickets before you go to avoid missing out! I'm so glad i got to visit it!!

Definitely not to be missed when in Amsterdam. Learn the interesting story of Anne Frank by waking through the actual house.

But do remember to make an advanced booking online way ahead as it s by appointment only. Tickets also sell out really fast.

Hot Tip: Buy your ticket online to avoid 1-2hr lineups! Tickets are released about 2 months in advance (only). This is a wonderfully moving museum. Obviously heartbreaking, but worth the trip. You will see the room Anne Frank and her family lived in throughout the holocaust and read excerpts about that time. Beautifully commemorated.

A very interesting and important piece of history that is being kept up! The House itself even holds original items from the time which is very impressive. You can get an audio guide, which is available in a couple different languages and gives enough information about everything without being too long or tedious. I also like the fact that you can buy the book in many different languages in the museumshop! It was a great experience (went there for the second time now!) and I can only recommend it so that we remember History and never forget what happened.

Clean well done museum with helpful personal audio guides, an interesting place of learning. You have to book in advance, this is definitely a popular place so don't expect to get tickets without reservation.

Very moving place. Tickets are online only, 80% of the tickets are released in advance and 20% of that days tickets are released at 9am on that day. Log into the website before 9am to be placed in a queue.

The tour is done at your own pace with an audio headset. You go through the museum then in the actual spaces where the family hid. Audio and video and remnants of the families items are there to see. Definitely worth getting tickets for. Whole tour inside too just over an hour with me taking my time through each segment.

A few steep staircases and one big step to get into the hiding space.

No cameras, video, or pictures are allowed inside as of July 2019 when I went.

An emotionally and intellectually engaging experience. Anne Frank's life and the surrounding historical context are skillfully recreated throughout the house. The real-life story is truly brought to life.

Hard to get tickets but managed to get some that morning at 9am online. You have to book online. The tour itself is really good, they have it laid out so well. It lasts about 1 hour. Well worth doing in my opinion.

Nice place to learn about WWII history. However, I would say this place isnt for people with mobility impairments. You do have to walk stairs and they are narrow. Overall, a nice place to visit when in Amsterdam.

Be certain to get your tickets 60 days exactly from the day you want to visit-80% go on sale then-set your alarm for 9 am their time and grab em! Be sure to purchase the 30 minute introduction as you get VIP entrance and hopefully get a better guide than we had for the intro. Even though we know the history & evils of WWII, being here was very sobering. Every holocaust denier needs to see this. The Huis is set up very efficiently with an audio set for most of the exhibits. I would recommend the Jewish Quarter Walking Tour prior to visiting the Huis(find it on Viator)that begins at the Jewish Historical Museum and ends at the Huis.

So sad, but very thankful to get an insight into the awful history of the war and the impact on the Jewish people. Surreal being able to walk around in that house.

If you miss out on the 20min talk beforehand, you do get an audio guide which is very informative (tip: take your headphones to plug into the audio guide!)

5* is kind of not important as you cant rate this piece of history. It's not a place for kids that will scream. People need time to reflect and consider this is the outcome of war; this is where a family and friends lived to avoid persecution

Very interesting but difficult to get tickets. Reccomend booking well in advance. They also release some tickets the night before online which is how we got our tickets. Dont bother just going and standing there hoping to get tickets either because they will just tell you to go online.

To build future, you must know your past. A statement I will never forget.
It takes you back to past and makes you feeling of being human.
Go anytime, minimum waiting of queue is 30 minutes, but it is worth the wait.

Everyone says this is a must and I am going to add my review to that list too. You need to book online and you have the option of printing or using your phone to have the barcode scanned. This is a slick process and you wait no more than 10 minutes in a queue to get in. Inside it is difficult not to get caught up in the emotion of suffering and the anger that a misguided society could ever do this.

I didn't go into the museum but fron outside it was a basic canal home. Like the others which was part of its magic. Once i was there i honestly came to realize that these same streets were jam packed with Nazis once. Thats terrifying.

To get a better understanding of how Anne Frank and her family lived was an experience to be remembered. As was the lesson of hope she shared. There were sparks of humanity surrounded by evil and destruction. You felt this as you toured Anne world.
