Don't even open the door to them. I was pressured into signing a contract. I had stated I was tired and wanted time to look over things but the salesperson persisted. The first lie I was told was that I would receive the system just for the privilege of putting the sign in the front yard. I was also lied to about not being charged an installation fee. Another lie was that I would have "till Monday (4 days after my contract was signed) to change my mind". Well the contract is fully binding after 3 days and Saturday counts as a business day. I was told they would just "pop" the alarm system on the wall. They drill holes in doors and walls like it's crazy. My sales guy even lied and said my neighbors signed up. That didn't make a difference to me one way or the other. But it's shows dishonestly. To add pressure, the salesman had the technician drill holes in my wall before I had even signed the contract. I'm sure that was deliberate. You are hooked into a 5 year contract for thousands of dollars. Also, a few days after I signed I got a letter in the mail stating that my alarm system would be monitored by some no-name company and not the one that they bragged about. On top of all of this, I was billed twice due to some glitch at their office that month. Thankfully, I had a sinking feeling and started cancellation proceedings within an hour of signing the contract. If I had waited "till Monday" like the salesman told me, I wouldn't have had a leg to stand on. If you see these guys coming around, bar the door!

Don't Pay Professional Prices for Unprofessional Business

Faulty equipment, horrible installs, see the beautiful work they did with our doorbell in the attached picture.

From VP to the installers and technicians we've had nothing but a nightmare experience with this company. The experience would make a beautiful comedy screenplay one day!

The sales people are only there for the sale, once they finish they wipe their hands clean of what they just signed you up for. 18 year olds doing it for the summer arent going to make sure you're taken care of.

The technicians were trained the morning of the install, or never trained at all. (again see the picture). They began attacking the most expensive systems in our home (ac/furnace) unknowingly risking their lives, and our wallets. Fortunately, ours only ended up in 3 days of 90+ degree heat in our home (August) instead of an explosion or electrocution of the tech. When they finally called a professional HVAC specialist to fix their mistakes, he was blown away by the incompetence of the company.

Scheduling department: we wasted countless hours waiting at home all day for our 10-2 appointment, they let us know at 6pm after the period that they couldnt make it out. They did that 3 times. We waited 3 days at home, and it spanned over 2 weeks.

Account Managers: again, only in it for the sale. You get an understanding of what the actual monthly cost should be when they are begging you to stay. If you are paying anything over $45 a month for all the products and services, you are being ripped off. When I was upset, $45/month was tossed out to me with no hesitation or permission needed.

If your goal is to feel safe, smart, and have a professionally managed home, this is not the company for you.

I've had a pretty terrible experience with AMP Smart from beginning to end. When first purchasing our system and signing the contract, the salesperson said there was no fee for cancelling. Since there are no print outs of the contract, it was impossible to try and scroll on their tiny tablet to read if this was true or not. We trusted the salesperson - our first mistake.
Since having the system, we constantly have problems. The most often - our panel being "tampered" with. It typically occurs in the middle of the night, when everybody including our baby, is sleeping. The panel starts screeching and we get calls from the company asking if there is a break in. Nope, just our panel going AWOL. We've had a technician come out and "fix it" - which they initially wanted to charge for, and not but a month later, it's doing the same thing.
We constantly don't have the feed showing up from our Ring doorbell camera. We will go weeks at a time without any videos recording and then they will start working again. Any time we ask about this problem they "update" the panel remotely which supposedly fixes the problem, nevertheless, it's reoccurring.
Finally, something fell through with the paperwork we submitted to have 911 be able to dispatch if we confirm with AMP Smart it s necessary. We didn t know this until our front door was opened when we were away. It took over 30 minutes of back and forth calls with AMP Smart and they to 911 to determine they couldn t dispatch and that we needed to call authorities. They never took full responsibility, but it was eventually stated that whatever paperwork they needed to submit annually, hadn t been completed.
It s been an absolute mess having security through them. I ve tried to cancel numerous times, but each time they say I have to pay off the remaining cost of my contract. It s absurd seeing as they aren t providing the services that are part of the contract.

Scammers; came to my house, told me everything would be totally free since they were testing out my area and wanted advertising. After four hours of aggressive and pushy sales pitch and having hardware installed I find out that I'm paying $55 per month for FIVE years. I can only cancel if I pay $1,250 up front which I can't afford. I still have another 4 years to go and I'm struggling to pay the monthly fee but they could care less. FALSE sale's pitch, Aggressive salespeople. I felt totally worn down and pressured into this service!!!

He was pleasant and helpful. Jaxson was very eager to help me figure out what the problem was with the alarm. I would highly recommend him as a person to talk to when you have a problem.

Clint from Colorado Springs Smart alarm has been the best rep to work with I have ever had the pleasure to work with in any service company. Nicoli, the tech rep has been equally as good. We purchased AMP Smart to obviously monitor our home. We opened a new business and needed help protecting all our equipment and home. I have never in my life had experienced such terrible service like the one AMP Smart has given us. Since day 1 we have had problems after problems. I work full time and need to constantly be taking time to call and fix issues all the time. The service representatives are NEVER helpful and ALWAYS RUDE. At one time we have even had representatives laugh at us. The cameras DO NOT work when they need to and the doorbell camera is constantly recording falling leaves and passing cars yet failed to protect our home when items where recently stolen from our property, and you guessed it, the cameras recorded NOTHING. We tried cancelling this terrible service and are now being told we need to pay a termination fee?!!!!! We were NEVER told this was a contract service! We asked many times before signing anything if at anytime we are not satisfied if we can cancel at any time with no penalties and we were told YES. At this point my wife Graciela and I, are over the top livid with this company! If you are thinking of purchasing this service think again! I repeat, DO NOT PURCHASE SERVICE WITH THIS COMPANY! I would honestly place a -5 star review if there was the option but sadly in order to post I had to place a 1-star, which is not even deserved! Want to make things right for me AMP? Then let me cancel my service with no penalty fees, because I will not continue service no matter how much you "try" to resolve this matter.

When the salesman came to my home he told me they had a promotion going on for their system and we didn't have to pay anything for the system to set up. I asked do they pull credit because I didn't want the hard inquiry. I was told they just put your name in a database to make sure your not behind on utilities.Well that was a lie because I ended up with a hard pull the next day. Mid way through their sales pitch another rep came in that was supposedly new and they mentioned paying 200 for the police registration. That's when I started to lose interest because we were moving in a few months. They claimed I would get a 75 dollar rebate for paying the 200 and all I have to do is call to have the system moved and that was it. No mention of fees or anything. To fast forward a bit I recently called customer service because I never received that rebate and I asked about moving the system or cancelling bc our new house happen to have a system set up. That's when I was told about the 5yr contract. The salesmen never mentioned it at all and when I was on their recorded line I honestly do not remember the lady mentioning 5yrs anything or I wouldn't had signed up. I was also told its 1250 to cancel and I haven't even had the system 90 days yet. If they believed in their products they wouldn't have a 5yr contract that you may have been tricked into and have to pay ridiculous amount to get out of it or pass the nonsense on to someone else. I even had my husband call to speak with someone once I told him the ridiculous news and all the supervisor could say is well you signed the contract and their is nothing u can do about it. And they can play that back since they throw it in your face you were recorded and you signed the contract. Horrible customer services from the supervisor and it sucks I am stuck with a system I do not want and I hate to pass it on to someone else since I'm not happy with it. I let myself get talked into this crap before researching this company. Very bad on my part. No wonder they have 1 star on fb and the good reviews they have on Google was probably from their employees. Sad sad sad.

Very kind man and he cares about what he does, you can tell! And the system is everything and more that would could have asked for, it's incredible! Overall, the service was great anf I'll definitely be recommending AMP Security to my friends and family!

Deceitful sales man. Originally night house that had Guardian and then a year later got a letter stating our contract was sold to Monitronics. 2 months after that Guardian salesman, Grant Boyd, came to my door saying Guardian wanted our business backend by doing so they would up grade our system for free. All I needed to do to cancel the service we had with Monitronics was so wrote them a letter stating they would like to cancel our acct. in fact Grant wrote the letter himself on my computer with the address and information for Monitronics. Got a letter from Monitronics stating we r under contract with them till 2020 and can't cancel. Called Guardian to have them resolve and they said it wasn't them that sold me the contract but a third party call AMP Security. I had to cal them which they stated that in order to get out of their contract, I would have to pay $1250 or I would need to submit the buy out of the Monitronics contract which they may or may not pay out, since it would have to be approved by upper management. I will be getting my attorney involved. Deceitful

This is the sorriest security system ever. We have a 5 year contract with this company. They were excellent the first 3 1/2 years but now the equipment has stopped working and they will not come out to replace it or fix it. My husband has spent about an hour on the phone with this company and they refuse to replace their own equipment. They told him we could just pay the rest of our term out... REALLY??? This is NOT how companies should treat their excellent customers. We have done everything they have asked of us except to pay the entire bill in full. So, if you are considering this company for your security needs, please reconsider. They are a good company until their own equipment breaks down, then you will be paying for a service that DOES NOT WORK.

Dylan arrived in full professional mode. I appreciated his attitude from the beginning of his presentation until we sealed the security package deal. He was straight forward in his explanation of the security package and allowed me to decide whether I wanted it or not. No pushy sales tactics and interestingly enough, Dylan was quite personable. I mentioned my son's name once and Dylan quickly implemented him into our conversation. Dylan asked relevant questions which helped me to reason on the need for AMP Smart's security system over others I have been offered. The best part of all, immediately at the conclusion of our signing the documents, my doorbell rang and the technician was there ready to install. Within two hours, my house was fully wired and ready for surveilling and security. The technician walked me through the ease of setting up and arming my home as well as viewing the doorbell camera and mounted garage camera's video footage. HIGHLY RECOMMEND this company and their fine professionals in sales and installation. Oh, the monthly monitoring price is quite affordable as well.

We had the equipment installed 12/15 and less than 4 months later the doorbell completely died. I called customer support and they told me I needed to spend $35 to have a technician come out and assess the problem. I asked that if the doorbell was the issue did I still need to pay the $35 since we have had the doorbell less than 4 months and was told yes. I wish we NEVER signed up with this company and now we are stuck with them for 56 months!

Very professional and polite. Absolutely knew what she was talking about and knows how to keep a customer happy. My contract is up soon and I was on the fence whether I should change alarm companies. She was very understanding of my special needs because I was not going to be much around so I wanted to make sure my wife felt safe with the security we were being provided. Terrible not honoring what our contract agreement. Calling only to hear we will look into why our garage sensors weren't installed. Burnt out garage door opener another day to be home. Doorbell works sometimes. Do not recommend our rep doesn't work for them anymore huh! So disappointed in this company. Think it's time to call BBB, and a lawyer to get some money back for not honoring contract.

NOT BBB Accredited... Just a BAD company in general. AMP Solicits without legal county license. Any company that thinks they are above the law is not reputable in my book.

They send kid punks soliciting without a license at 9:00 p.m. at night. Please keep these idiots in your office.

I have chased them away 3 times in 2 days. OMG. The POLICE came out twice now and found out that these obnoxious solicitors from AMP don't even have a license to sell anything in our county to be here. Lots of neighbors called the Police because of their harassment. What a bunch of hopeless losers.

We have ADT signs all outside in their sight that they have ignored. What annoying harassing little punks. I am calling Sanchez on the news. Hopefully this company will be banned from Indiana.

Cops were called by several neighbors. This is an outrage. I will SUE your AMP company. We need security from your solicitors. My next call is going to the Attorney General to see that this company cannot solicit in our neighborhood, which has great "NO SOLICITATION" signs at all entrances. STAY OUT OF HERE.

Those of you that gave this company 5 * starts are employees or the owner. NOT a 5* company. Very deceitful. We have ADT for many years now and they have been so good to us.

P.S. When you sell your home & moving out, you are no longer obligated to stay on the contract. Call your Attorney General and BBB. Make formal complaint as I am doing tomorrow. This is the worst solicitation EVER.

From start to finish AMP was incredibly sweet and professional. Angela the sales rep and Nigel were amazing. David the tech was friendly and knowledgeable. I know my husband and I are difficult to deal with when it comes to knowledge of security and negotiations of monthly rate. Your company made us feel welcomed and were happy to accommodate. I highly recommend this company. They give special treatment to military, law enforcement, teachers, and clergy. The best part is the door bell camera and touch screen alarm panel. Now I know exactly who is at the door when they ring. The panel is beautiful it shows pictures and you can add family picks. All in all just a great experience.

Update: The director of customer service (Jason) personally reached out to me to explain the issue with why my ticket was not being addressed. He was extremely polite and apologetic and went out of his way to correct the issue. Jason gave me his personal phone number in case I need anything in the future. I truly appreciate the company handling my issue so professionally.

Original review: Horrific customer service. Not only did my two year guaranteed rate increase $10 per month on the third month, I cannot get a response from customer service regarding two of the door sensors not working. I have tried twice in three weeks to contact them. They open a ticket, forward it to the correct dept, and then nothing.

Wow 1st a salesperson named Brandon came to are door. He stated that are home recently had security system with monotonic and amp security can upgrade are home. After a pushy sales pitch we had system installed. That night we had problems with system I called him problems never resolved. He told me he would contact xfinity to cancel my current security I would not have to anything. Next day cable and security system was cancelled and security system was alarming that front door was triggered the door was locked. I called customer service to cancel contact. I was told to hang I'll connect to rep to cancel. Next rep comes on line tells me the rep will contact me in one or two days. Received call from rep to cancel next day . I informed her the tech or Brandon took my doorbell they would need to replace. She said she would let tech know . Tech Chris shows up he knows nothing about doorbell . Needless to say here go to buy another doorbell. If you can rate this company a zero that's my rating .Don't fall victim get a good company with good service you are paying for it.

Like this time Jordan was the fourth person we call for assistance. Nonetheless, he was professional and polite and was able to understand the problem but more importantly resolve the issue.

My husband and I love the beautiful yet simple design of the system and how easy it is to connect all of our home devices into one platform. The app is easy to use, set up was a breeze, and the price is very reasonable for what you're getting. plus, they're military friendly! whenever we move, AMP smart will reinstall brand new equipment at no cost to us. Cannot recommend this company enough!

Enrique was our sales agent and he was so informative of everything that AMP Smart security has to offer that I felt I was making the right choice in hiring this company for my security needs. Enrique was so friendly that you felt that you have known him for years. I am very glad he suggested everything that he felt I needed because I feel very comforted and secured from the products I am using! The team that set all the security was amazing! Great team - very friendly, funny, and personable. Jeff, Gary, Chris, and Chayo were all professional, courteous and knowledgeable as well as helpful, especially when something malfunctioned as they came back the next day to fix it. I would definitely recommend these guys and this company to anyone wanting a home security system. It tells you something when they give you their personal cell phones in case you need anything as to how much of a valued customer you are. :)

Beware of shady business practices! Gentleman came to our house to sell when I was not home, he was interested, heard what they had to say. Then.. convinced him to sign at the bottom of a form where he asked for names of any adults living in the house and our address to see if we were eligible for any home owner discounts so he signed, next thing I know a hard inquiry to my credit appeared. Ummm, excuse me.. when did I give permission for you to pull my credit? My husband doesn t even know my social nor did he give him his.. Guy came back next day and I asked him how he got my social.. He said he didn t, but showed me at the bottom of the form where he told him to sign and it said we may pull your credit. Ok firstly, I didn t sign it, secondly, pulling my credit off my name and address?? Oh noooooo! Sorry, this should be illegal. Dropped my credit by 11 points just by them doing this. I ve worked hard on my credit to buy this house and this is just wrong! Need to train your salemen to not lie in order to get that signature. He very clearly didn t tell him that was being done..

Had a salesman stop by my door and was very pleased with his visit. He was very knowledgeable and told me that I could get a free upgrade as long as I put out a new sign advertising for him. The equipment that was provided was extremely better than what I had and I payed the same as I was paying and through in a doorbell camera :). I would definitely do business with AMP Smart/AMP Security!

Don't just walk away from this company BUT RUN LIKE HELL !!! Absolute total scam and I am garnering paperwork to report these crooks to the state attorneys office .
1st they sent out a tech that was not certified to install smoke alarms which in the state of Texas it is required . Oh and of course he did not install the smoke alarm but stated someone would be out to do it later . Well after no less than THEM setting up 12 appointments to get it installed and always calling at the last minute to reschedule we made the decision to send them a letter of cancellation . They turned it into a collection agency stating refusal of payment , laughed my butt off for that. Then when I talked with the collection agent she told me that after signing me for the fire and entry alarm system that the paperwork they sent them did not show the smoke alarm , so RUN RUN RUN AWAY FROM THESE CROOKS . NEVER DELIVERED ON WHAT WAS AGREED AND FRAUDULENTLY CHANGED MY CONTRACT TO SHOW THEY WERE NOT AT FAULT .

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE READ THIS BEFORE DOING BUSINESS WITH AMP SMART!! I am retracting my previous review and now endorsing or recommending AMP Smart. This is my choice to write this and change my stance I was not asked or bribed in any way to do so.
I had a very stressful situation concerning their system I shared here as a last resort. One of their representatives Jason reached out to me. He listened to the whole story, gave me quite a bit of information and education, but in the end came up with a plan that was more than fair to resolve my issue 100%. I truly believe the mark of a good company is how they handle issues or bad situations and Jason accepted liability, apologized for their mistakes but most importantly resolved the issue to my satisfaction. After speaking with Jason I would not hesitate to do business with him in the future.

Valerie made my choice so easy to understand and that made for a very comfortable and professional transition. My other alarm company was bought out and I was never made aware of it. I was never given any other choices whether it was to continue to be wired or have a wireless option. This is an A company. I would recommend them over and over again.
