If you want to swim in a farm pond and wait 40 minutes on $12 cold nachos, this is the place for you.

Had a great guide! First time experience here with family and young teens. The new river option is what we chose with the duckies based on our group. Had a blast!

Great place and great employees. We had a blast Raylord was our guide and sitting next to Puddin on the bus added some entertainment. Lunch was good also.

The guides at Ace are the best in the biz!! We had an amazing adventure on the New River and the Gauley! Bryce and Nugget are top notch guides!!! Can't wait to get back in the fall!!

Absolutely loved our recent weekend stay with Ace Adventures. We stayed in the Truman Lodge for a couple of nights an drafted the New River, all of which were wonderful experiences. Love the staff, and if you raft with Ace definitely request Scottie O! Not only was he an outstanding and knowledgeable River guide, he kept us all smiling the whole way. Definitely the best rafting Adventure I've ever been on, and I've been on quite a few of them. Five stars and two thumbs up

We just drove in for the river rafting trip. The rafting experience was great, felt safe the entire time, and laughed a lot! Our guide Scotty O was amazing he made the trip exciting and fun!

We did the upper New River with the duckies. It was awesome. Great guides and it was very well organized. We also had lunch during the trip. All and all we had a great time :) Even for smaller kids age 10-ish, I'd get the duckies. My son loved it.

Ace is beautiful. A wonderful family place. Great for event's. Hot tubs and cabins.

My wife called to book us a cabin because we wanted to take our kids to the waterpark for 3 or 4 days and they would not rent us one unless we purchased one of their guided tours, but we did not want to do the guided tours, we just wanted to take the kids to the Waterpark, so we decided to go to Long's Retreat Waterpark in Southern Ohio instead. It's sad that we have to spend our money in Ohio instead of the State we live in! You have lost our business forever!

I can't begin to explain how epic and heart warming the place and staff are!

The guides are awesome. They do a great job of keeping everything clean as well. Do yourself a favor and do some rafting.

ACE Adventure Resort is a large center in the middle of the mountains of West Virginia, just north of Beckley. They have campsites and also lodges to stay in, a bar and restaurant and store on-site, and a huge variety of adventure activities to participate in, including white water rafting, mountain biking, zip lining, paintball, etc. While somewhat expensive, the service is very good, with friendly staff and guides.

Staying here now with my husband and children. Booked a family tent for three nights. Grounds are NOT well kept at all. The grass around our campsite needed cut a week ago. Bath houses are not well kept. The view from our campsite is a dilapidated metal shed behind a horrible looking rickety fence. Also stacks of concrete blocks and old pallets just laying in front of our site. Do NOT let their website fool you. When you first pull in, it looks beautiful. Once you pass the entrance and lake water park it s all a total bust.

All I can say is "AWESOME!!!!!!!!! Had an incredible time at ACE. The white water rafting guides were awesome. Safety was definitely a priority. Jumping off rocks and swimming down the river was awesome. Excellent place to have outdoor fun for all ages. The lake with the inflatables you can jump off of was so much fun. It was fun to watch people getting launched off the blob into the air to plummet into the water. The cabins were just right. All you need for a week of fun. Grill, hottub, fire pit for roasroasting marshmallows or hanging out to have some brews. Will definitely come back.

The people there are fabulous! The rafting experience is like no other! We stayed in a 4 person cabin and it was ok but not great. The hot tub sucked! It was old and had a crack and was tiny! Other than that this place is awesome!!!!

Great staff and environment, everyone was very friendly and adhered to social distancing. We will be back again!

Great fun...pricey but great fun....make sure that you are in good shape...getting on those flotation floats require some skill and strength....still worth the trip....

My son and I visited for the first time and it was great Memorial Day weekend getaway. We stayed in the cabin tents and they were pretty good. The rafting trip was GREAT and the guides are as good as any other rafting company on the gorge. Ordering was pretty good... so many options that it was kinda confusing. My son & I are now planning a yearly trip Memorial Day weekend trip... SEE YOU NEXT YEAR!

Great place for 7 plus year old's. Spent the hold day there and never heard the words we're board.

One of a kind place! Great time for a great price! Went to the water park for the day and had more fun than I've had in a long time. We plan to camp here next year and take advantage of more of the activities they offer.

Me and my friends decided to go to the water park, well it was an absolute blast but one employee, not sure what his name is, was unbelievably rude to us, now I I understand he s got to keep it all under control for safety reasons, but there was no reason at all to treat us the way he did, we were on a particular part of the water park, and if you have never been here the rule is a max number of people are allowed on different parts of the park, well he told us 8 people were alllowed on this particular one, well my friends and I went on one, about 7 of us, well 2 more strangers decided to come on, it s not our responsibility to kick them off, well anyways, the employee came screaming over telling us that he didn t like our attitude and threatening to take our wrist bands off and kicking us out, not the way to be treated there, he was so disrespectful, and not to say that I saw him giving so much other people attitude ruining there time, I don t understand, there was just a way better way to handle things the way he did, and I hope the owners are aware, I understand you got to lay down the rules here to keep everyone safe, but the way he was was so unnecessary and uncalled for, easily could have been more polite and nice, other than that this place is an absolute blast

Spent an astounding weekend on the mountain with my beautiful wife. Mountain Music Festival is held here each year. Ace has many fun activities inclunding a water park, zip lining, paintball, and white water rafting! The have a wood fired oven for right near the water! I Go every year and will probably for the rest of my life.

We did a full day trip down the lower New and it was well worth the $$. Our group enjoyed a full day of rapids, floating, swimming and were even fed lunch! We're definitely coming back to hit the Gauley!

This place is awesome, but I'd love to go fishing aroung the toys....lol. There are bass everywhere!

My wife and I and our daughter and her family stayed at the campgrounds called woodpecker alley. Neither one of our spots were cleaned nor was he grass cut. We had water electricity and sewer hookups. The water pressure was so low you couldn't shower or use more than one facuet. Even the shower house was pathetic. They don't offer wifi. The roads were absolutely terrible. The water park itself was ok but not for the money they charge to use it. We will not go back to ace resorts and we would not recommend any of our friends or people we know to go there.we left a day early and they were kind enough to give us back our money for the day we didn't stay. I

Top notch place with some of the world's best people. Somehow each time we come down our experience is better than the last. There are some of the most kind and authentic people who run the river with this company. They will treat you like family and welcome you back time after time.

This place is called Ace for a reason, it really is ace. We camped two nights and did the Upper Gauley rafting. With regards to the camping: The check-in was quick and easy, the campsite was clean and had plenty of space, the showers were boiling hot, the communal facilities (stores, bar, etc.) were all very high standard, and the staff were extremely helpful and kind. The rafting: it was an early start, and a very cold morning (we did it on BRIDGE DAY), we rented all the clothing that was available and it really helped. Kevin was our trip leader and we were also in his raft. He gave a great history lesson / safety briefing on the bus to the 'put-in'. He was funny and kept everyone focused and attentive, but was serious when he needed to be, a true professional. We felt safe all day, despite being in Class 5 rapids swirling, dipping and diving. It was an absolutely awesome day: truly beautiful scenery, great people, so much fun, beers on the bus ride home, and a really good video at the end of it all. Thanks everyone!!

We went White Water Rafting and the Water Park. It was speechless. You can go zip lining, blobber. I went like three story's high, never lie about your weight or you'll feel the same way I did.

Great place and the river rafting is awesome! The staff is very friendly with one exception - a river guide by the name of Casey who works in the Outdoor Gear store too - he was very much a jerk on our raft trip and was constantly insulting to all the people on the raft and was downright abusive in his verbal treatment - get a guide other than Casey and you will have a better time.

Excellent location for the campground if you are interested in whitewater rafting. Couple different cabin and camping configurations exist so you could really rough it in a tent at one end of the spectrum or go all out and have a full amenity cabin. Middle choice cabins are real good if you want to have a real camping / rustic experience. A lot of activities are organized by Ace Adventures so make sure you plan ahead - since Covid-19 capacity rules apply. It's going whitewater rafting, plan to have eight friends total with you since that comprises a full raft. The rafting guides are real good and knowledgeable.

I couldn't climb up on most things there because of the life jackets that you're not allowed to take off...

First time visiting. Good food friendly staff. Will definitely be back. Twenty dollars for 5 hours is a great deal.

THIS REVIEW IS SPECIFIC TO A ZIPLINE EXPERIENCE ONLY - We rafted through a different outfitter, see my other reviews, but absolutely loved the ziplines at Ace. Our group of fifteen, aged 9 to 50, had a great time. The diversity of the runs and awesome guides made a very memorable experience that exceeded almost everyone's expectations.

Note that our perception as outsiders to the overall Ace complex was that they have an amazing set of activities and facilities to keep their guests captive - which could be a positive to many people - if you want a 'one-stop-shop' for couples to large group outdoor fun.

Lots of fun. I liked that you can bring your own food/drink, but the options available for sale were reasonably priced and delicious. The water park never seemed too crowded even on a hot Saturday in July. Some of the inflatables needed a little TLC and I would have liked to see more lifeguards in the lake, but overall well worth the cost of admission.

Went white water rafting here with my church and had a truly wonderful experience, the staff is helpful and friendly, our river guide was awesome too! There is so much to do here, I wish we had time to try it all! If you have the chance to go, I highly recommend it.

The zip lining and rafting were incredible. All of the staff went above and beyond to make sure you had a great time. Facilities were very clean and the food was wonderful. We are already planing another trip to ACE for next year.

Did the marathon rafting trip and it was amazing! Our guide was great too. Campgrounds are separated into family, adult, and "festive" (loud), so you get to choose what is best for you. Has a restaurant on sight as well.

Went for camping and mountain biking, ended up leaving a night early. If you are there for rafting or swimming with the water toys you'll be happy but camping and mountain biking, I'd advise researching somewhere else.

So much fun! Very exciting/exhilarating experience! The river guide was very knowledgeable and entertaining, but also very professional when it came to making sure everyone was doing what they needed to do to be safe while taking on the rapids. Even when we were out of the raft and I almost got sucked into an eddy current, the guide helped to keep things calm and direct me away from the eddy and back into the main stream to get back to the boat safely ;-) Great experience!

I went with my family and another member who backed out last minute.the staff was understanding and extremely helpful. I had a great time rafting and zip lining. Can't wait to go back next year

The guide's are the best. Everyone that works at ACE that we have had to talk to deal with from the Welcome center up to management to housekeeping, have been nice friendly. This is our 2nd trip and we plan on coming back soon!!!!!

This resort was featured on the Travel Channel for wildest waterparks, which is true. The waterpark is great fun, but they offer a variety of extreme adventures for all levels, from zip lining at night, SUP, white water rafting, etc. They also offer a variety of sleeping accommodations, from mountain top tent camping to luxury cabins. If planning on staying at the resort and not "roughing it" then book early for your cabin choice.

Areas for improvement are the connectivity for cell phone. Basically your deep in the mountains at the resort with extremely limited to no service. Also the cabins do not have phones for you to call the front desk, if a problem happens, even though directions with a phone number are provided to contact the front desk there is no way to do so. The next area of improvement is trash pick up. They need to pickup trash daily from cabins, each night of out 2 days stay animals got into the trash.

Overall the experience was amazing and truly the adventure my group was looking for.

Came back this year (2018) and went whitewater rafting down the lower river (new additional picture added). We increased our stay (3 nights, 4 days), which allowed the group to really relax and enjoy the resort.

ACE is a great one stop shop for some awesome adventures, so go YOLO it up at ACE.

Ace Adventure...I find a real nice resort. It has a beautiful Lake on one side of the mountain they are working on opening up and everyone I have come in contact with was nice including the owner...a great place to visit

We went white water rafting with Ace Adventure on 7/16/16 and had the time of our lives!
Bick is an awesome guide. He showed us such an amazing time with lots of laughter and fun. I also want to extend a special thanks to Bick from my friend, Lisa, who Bick caught before she flipped out of the raft on several occasions. The way Bick was able to paddle with one hand and grab Lisa with his other was hilarious!

Absolutely the worst white water rafting company I have ever been to. Terrible service. Staff at front desk didn't know about any of the trips they offer. The RV camping sites were some of the worst I have ever seen. It had a water park feature which probably the coolest thing they offered. They also, said they were voted the best pizza in the area and it was far from it. Over priced for rafting, staffing had little knowledge and I would NOT go here!

Cluxter was a fun experience... Hope more festivals continue to choose the mountain top as their venue

I've used several of ACE's services over the last few years. I've been rafting and disc golfing, played at the water Park, camping and ate at the restaurant. All of the activities are a blast and real adventures.

Fantastic experience rafting with Ace, followed by an incredible live music event with amazing food and drinks. Craig and Brennan, also known as Sir Davos seaworthy and Spicoli, are great guides. Highly recommend.

Great place, friendliest staff I have ever seen, and tons of stuff to do

Went rafting: half day trip on the New River. The boat guide was great! He gave us lots of interesting facts about the river and got is down the river safely, but challenged is as well. We'll definitely do it again!!!

I put together a 11 man bachelor party at this place and could have not been more pleased with the my choice.

The Waterpark onsite is a great place for a bunch of 30 year old men to fell like they're 20 again! Jumping and climbing off all kinds of inflatables in the pond was a BLAST!!

The Bunkhouse area is the PERFECT place to book for a bunch of guys at a bachelor party. Out of the way but still close enough to the action. My ONLY suggestion would be to somehow extend wifi to the bunkhouses/camping areas.

Our main event was whitewater rafting on the UPPER GUALEY during Gauley Season... It.. was.. a .. blast... Definitely a thrill seekers delight but I will give ALL CREDIT TO THE GUIDES. In particular:

TUG (Tall Ugly Guy), Head Guide - Great job mixing professionalism with good humor!! Loved the speeches and high energy!

Yogi, Our Guide - Thanks for "turning it up" for our raft and delivering on some epic spills and swim time!! AWESOME GUIDE!! PAY THIS MAN!!!

Jacob, Videoautographer - This was a great addition. Didn't really get it at first but man did this turn out to be a nice treat watching us spill time after time during his AWESOME video recap. Definitely a NICE TOUCH from the rest of the companies on the water. DUDE is the best hype man ever!!

All in all I definitely plan on coming back to this place in the future. Had everything I wanted and more!! Keep building and expanding ACE!!!!

This was a blast a amazing place for family get away

We originally booked the full day Lower New trip but the levels were too high so they upgraded us to the Lower Gauley (at no expense to us - yay!). It was me and three of my boys - 17 & 14 yo twins. I was very nervous because we were first timers but the staff is amazing and our guide, Tug, was the best! He gave clear directions, had stories & history to tell at different spots along the way, asked questions & got to know us and is probably one of the funniest people I've ever met! We will definitely be going back!!

Mountain Music Fest was amazing!!! Will be returning! The over all atmosphere of The Lost Paddle as well at the mountain top was relaxed and enjoyable. Had tons of fun at the lake as well

ACE is Awesome! My son and I went for the first time in June last year (rafting and zip lining) and I just booked our trip for this upcoming June (rafting, zip lining, and we've added rock climbing to this trip). The staff and guides are super! The food is great - and they have a good selection of craft beers too. We stayed in a Cozy Cabin and it was nice, very clean and comfy.

It was a TON of fun and I can't wait to go back. Yay ACE!
