Ace Adventure Resort Review

Went on the Lower New River Gorge trip with Ray as our guide, and it was awesome. Great views of the New River Gorge Bridge too. Definitely recommend, and ask for Ray.

Great place to have a good time. The roads on the resort have larger pothole. So, I suggest a all wheel drive or larger vehicle. Besides that I love it all from the food to the cabins.

Great place to go rafting. Did the lower New river. Half day trip. Absolutely loved it. All the staff was very helpful and friendly. We will definitely be going back

Great facility tucked away in the West VA mountains. Lots of onsite activities, along with whitewater rafting tours. Friendly staff, good food.

The guides were great but the office staff/ manager is a crook. I was over charged for my group of 14. I asked if they have a promotion they said no. I found the promotion and they would not credit me my money back. Just sent me a rain check to be used the same month. It was there mistake should have given me the credit back to card.

Have rafted the Upper New River a couple times now. Both were day trips and had a great time! ACE handled everything very well.

Full of lots of obstacles and other fun water things to do.

Very fun for my daughter and her friends! Perfect for kids age 10 and up. They were able to be free to enjoy being young and full of energy.

Excellent facility and great whole family! Variety of activities. Camp sites are perfect: flushing toilets and showers. Will come back again.

ACE is the only place I will raft with. The guides are fun and interactive but when its time for business they are clear in their instructions to ensure you are safe but still have fun.
The resort at ACE has a lake with a ton of inflatable rafts to climb, jump and bounce on. We spent a whole day at the lake.
They have all types of lodging. I perfer the mountain top primative camping. Its quite and it has everything you need.

I had an absolute blast white water rafting! Our guide was great, lunch was good, and it was an overall good environment. We ate breakfast burritos to go before our rafting trip and were surprised at the quality- super yummy and filling before getting on the river. After our Upper trip, we ate dinner at the onsite restaurant and bar. The food was good and affordable. There were a number of other activities and attractions on their property that we would like to check out next time. I would certainly recommend ACE Adventure Resort!

Always a blast! We go to the lake every summer and my kids love it and always look forward to it. Its well staffed and well maintained. Staff is super friendly and helpful

We went to Ace Water Park with a half day pass. Had a little trouble finding the road to the resort, but other than that, getting there was easy. The kids enjoyed themselves and there were plenty of lounge chairs for everyone that was at the park that day! Food and drink available on site, as well as adult beverages. The changing rooms were just restrooms, however and they were barely big enough to change clothes in. Since we were not staying overnight at the resort, it would've been nice to have a larger changing room and showers available to day guests. Overall, we really enjoyed ourselves and I would definitely recommend this water park for physically fit youngsters and adults alike who love water sports and like to challenge themselves.

I've stayed here twice over two years, once for rafting the New River and once for Upper/Lower Gauley. Good plots for tent camping, cabins are well maintained. People are friendly and knowledgeable. Can't speak to the other activities but the Lake looks fun from the shore. Price is reasonable for the convenience of all in one service. Will return.

Another grand adventure at Ace Advancement Resort! Our guides were fun, informative, and genuinely nice good folks. The lunch was pulled chicken sandwhiches, pasta salad, potato salad, cup of fruit, chips, cookies and water. It was delicious! We rode the duckies down the upper new river which is the calmest but there were a lot of class III rapids and in those little duckies, it felt like a lot more! In a good way I mean. I highly recommend the duckies if you want more of a thrill in your trip.

Absolutely awesome & a great family atmosphere! A must go to for not only vacationers but locals to!!

It was fun! The kids loved it ! Don't wear water shoes, you won't be able to get up the floats. Also kids make it look easy.

Phenomenal!! Lake is great camping is top notch and groundskeeping takes absolutely the best care of this beautiful gem. Highly recommend

Family friendly adventure park. Awesome lake filled with slides, zip line and water slides. Activities include kayaking, rafting, and zip lines. New River Gorge has class 2 through 5 rapids. River guides are experts and share local lore. Lost Paddle restaurant and bar has good food and cold drinks. Bands on weekends. Tent camping, RV hookups, and cabins available. Friendly staff everywhere. Bottom line - this is THE place for your next adventure.

I really liked this place... despite dislocating my shoulder. The camps were well provisioned, the staff friendly and the food / bar was fun. River is amazing. Look out for the "blob" though!

A lot of fun! We spent the day at the water park and the kids loved it. Even though my daughter and son are not strong swimmers, the required PFD's gave them the confidence to try new and exciting things.

This was our first trip to this water park. It was nice, the kids really enjoyed the inflatables and the zip line and blob. I really enjoyed the adult slushies, and laying in my lounge chair on the beach. They provide life vests. The pizza we ordered was really good as well. Worth the money.

Zipp Line Tour
The boss Jenni was fairly rude and rushing. We were 15 minutes early. The other 2 girls and one guy were nice/cool from the start. Jenni gave the impression that she needed us to get going and finish so she can go home. Soft skills would be a big help working in this field. Tour was overall nice and professional.

One of the best experiences of my life! The staff is the best around and are very knowledgeable. Had the best whitewater rafting guide too. Also we had issues with our tent pavilion leaking so they put us in a mountain room for the night that was awesome. The bar/resteraunt is the coolest ever and they make really good drinks! I can't say how much I loved this place! Can't wait until next time!

We had a fun vacation enjoying the zipline canopy tour, water park, and rafting the upper new. Everybody there was friendly and welcoming and knowledgeable and their areas of work. Would definitely go again.

Great place for your next getaway. Fun for adults and children of all ages. Whether you just want to relax and get away, or test your adventurous side.

ACE was a fun experiences. We drafted two days and while our first tour guide left some to be desired, the second one we had was AMAZING. We stayed in Laurel cabin which we well heated with a great hot tub. Would go back.

Kids had a great time and definitely coming back. Although the people working wanting it to rain so they can go home. That's my only complaint

Fantastic getaway from the city!! The drive from Pittsburgh was gorgeous, comfy cabin and super attractions. Will most definitely be returning

The guides were great and it resulted on a fun day of rafting. However, on ACE's website under their "COVID-19 response" they state in part, "Max number of people on the bus is capped. (Updated 6.7.2020) For full-day trips, guests will receive a prepackaged lunch on the river." Neither of these things were true for my trip. The bus was packed full and the lunch was buffet-style, served by the guides. Now, if that's how things need to operate due to having limited busses, personnel, or whatever else may be the reason, that's fine. But, these false statements should not be stated on their website which leads potential customers to believe the environment may be safer than it actually is.

Terrible. Hopefully your guides know what they are doing when they have groups of people flying though the trees. Obvious lack of training with zip line guides. Ridiculous.

This place is a lost gem. If I had to say what they specialize in it would be customer service. The resort is priced well and offers a wide range of activities for visitors to do all right on the resort or a short bus trip to their base. The facilities were well kept. We were there for a week with the scouts visiting for the world jamboree. We had a few issues and the resort took care of them and did everything could to make it right and made sure our time there was the best it could be. I want to thank them for not being like many other businesses these days and forgetting about their customers. If you are looking for a great family friendly resort where you can sit back relax and have a good time or want to go on a adventure check them out.

This park is a lot of fun. The group I was with was only there for half a day at the water park portion. It was a blast though. I wouldn't recommend the water park portion to anyone who is handicap or doesn't have a lot of upper body strength. The water park requires one to pull themselves up onto the floating raft toys. Other than that its a perfect place to spend either a full or half day. The food is also excellent at the water park.

Awesome experience in the New River with Alisa, Sam, Kelly and Susan!! Great weather, great guides and A SUPER FUN trip!! Definitely going back to do the Gauley! Camped two nights... Big fields with some trees. Good shower facilities as they were clean but didn't have hot water in the campsite area. Hoping that's just because it was early in the season.

Great staff helped our group have a fun time on the river.

The place is really fun. There are lots of things to do. But just about every River guide Was pretty rude. The lady running the wetsuit counter was excessively rude.

The onsite water park was absolutely amazing! There was so many inflatables to play on and then there were slides, a zip line and the blob. We had a blast all day long.

The location is nice, but wish there were better cell service. The ziplining was great! The guides were really good and funny. The cabins are well suited for what we need.

Very cool place and the only company I would go rafting with on the new or gually river! They have primitive camping with showers. A water park, restaurant bar, and a store. The offer so many options you would need a few days to do them all if not longer! Check in is easy and quick.

Me and 9 friends attend the Gritty Chix Mud Run and rented 2 of the Cedar Cabins. This was my first time at ACE and I was amazed at how big this place is. The pictures do not do it justice. We had so much fun, the cabins were perfect and the food was delicious. I look forward to going back next year!

The resort is a nice place, the food is great and not overpriced like other places, but the only problem is the cost of the cabins to stay In at and the people that work there.

ACE is a great one-stop outfit for outdoor activities in the mountains. The compound has just about everything you would need from water park and recreation, to food and beverages, even a proper restaurant with excellent adult beverage selection! We have used ACE to organize our rafting trips for the Upper and Lower New River, as well as our most recent Upper Gauley rafting trip. We always have a blast! Bar none - the experience can't be beat.

For the Lower New and Upper Gauley River trips, ACE provides an awesome spread of food for lunch - which is much needed after paddling through class 3+ rapids for 2-3 hours. I'm not talking about your standard picnic fare, no - it is essentially restaurant catering off-site and on the river bank! For the Upper Gauley trip we took shore in the "Colosseum of Carnage" after a huge drop in a Class IV to eat on a raised deck and watch other trips and river-goers. Bring your appetite because the portions are generous - but don't eat too much, because you still have more rapids to paddle through!

Kevin, our raft guide is a seasoned river-goer and outdoorsman, whose chill yet confident demeanor keeps us at ease but on-the-ready in angry water. We request him each time we put-in for the river. He knows the rivers intimately and never disappoints. His knowledge of local history, and of flora and fauna will be appreciated by the ecology enthusiast and historian alike, and will keep you engaged during flat water. This past Upper Gauley run was the best whitewater rafting experience we have had to date. Will be booking with ACE again next year!

Rafting was off the charts. Food at on-site restaurant is really good.

White Water Rafting with Skip was a lot of fun and they provided a excellent home cooked lunch for full-day rafters. Cabin tent was decently priced and we enjoyed the water park inflatables. I would definitely stay at the resort again because of all the activities provided.

It was so much fun water park with obstacle course on it and 2 big slides.

I brought my family to my hometown for the first time they never have been to West Virginia and took our kids just to show them how awesome it was here!! Well let's just say the people running the show was super phenomenal gave us a free pass so our babies could swim.... Thanks so much definitely a major highlight to our visit and drive from Oklahoma!!

Loved it, I want to go back for more when I can actually do more of the activities. They have so much there to do and all the workers were great and friendly. Cabin was just right and allowed our husky to come with us.

I can heartily recommend staying at Ace Adventure Resort. The arrangements that I made were followed through from the beginning. The website is easy to use, check in was excellently handled and our chalet was clean and cozy. The rafting experience was one that my adult children will always remember. Our raft guide, Chickenhead, made the trip for us. He was very personable, knowledgeable and so willing to help us navigate the river and the rapids. One of our servers in the Lost Paddle Restaurant was Sam and she did her best to make us feel welcome. Although I didn't go on the Zip Lining adventure, my two daughters just raved about it. Their guide was from Argentina and she instilled a lot of confidence in my daughters so that it was an experience for them. Thank you for a great time. I will always recommend your place for a family adventure!!

Can't say enough GOOD stuff about our visit! Everything was top notch! The Whitewater Rafting was incredible, but the resort was just as spectacular- clean, beautiful, great food & drink, such fun things to do!
