Ace Adventure Resort Review

The resort was very well kept for the number of people in attendance.

Although the rafting was good, take the time to find a family owned raft company and support them. This very much had the feel of corporate owned. Our guide was very inexperienced and twice did not realize that he had lost a paddler.

Whitewater rafting was very fun. Did not use the other facilities.

Definitely would recommend this place to everybody! We did horseback riding and zip lining and both were very enjoyable for us! For ziplining, we had Dani and Josh, both of who were very funny, attentive, and knew what they were doing! We also did horseback riding and we were paired up with a company a bit far, but worth the drive. That company also took care of us!

I would love to visit Ace in the future again!

We have brought our 8th grade honor students to ACE Adventure Wonderland Park for the last three years and have always had a great experience. The staff are friendly and courteous to our group. Plenty of changing rooms and restrooms. However; the road going into the park is very difficult for a big bus to navigate.

Got everything in one place and lots of whitewater close by!

Did the zip line tour. Had a blast. Guides were awesome. The water park looked great. We will bring our kids once they are old enough.

There is so much they offer to do, like ziplining, rock bouldering, whitewater rafting, live music on the weekends, and so much more, and of course you have to try some of the great food!!

Sooo much fun! There isnt alot of cool things to go and do in this state! But the kids absolutely loved this place.

We went white water rafting for our first time! It was so much fun and the guides were amazing! Tim was our person guide in the raft, he was very knowledgeable about everything, not just white water rafting. He knew the history and a lot of other information! D-rock was our whole group leader, he was funny and informative. The only thing I would say is to make sure you get there about an hour before your appointment time. I would also like to say is that there are showers available, I recommend bringing extra clothes to change into and any other items you feel you need after white water rafting. We will definitely be back to do other activities!

Camped here for a week. Loved the water park it was awesome. Great for kids but also adults. Loved the zip line at water park and all the challenges it had for not ONLY kids . Its a place to interact with your kids. And just so you know the white water rafting is something to definitely do. It was one of the GREATEST experiences i had here. I was nervous cause i had never been before but after i went it is something i would love to do with all my children. Going to come back with my daughters so they can share that experience with me . It was so much fun.. so if you havent been. Its a great adventure and lots of fun try it out. I was pleased with my stay there. The people was so friendly and welcoming also.

Brought eight of us here today and had a great time. I would probably give this five stars but some of the hand grips were broken on the inflatables making it difficult if not almost impossible to climb up. Enjoyed wood fired pizza, drinks, and some adult beverages. We'll be back.

This place is amazing. My family and I had an amazing weekend. Our rafting guide Randy was absolutely wonderful. We also went zip lining, our guides were definitely 1st class. Thanks again ace, we will be back in October

Went white water rafting. Wicked fun and had a blast. Guide was awesome and we did more than just raft down the river such as jump off cliffs, surf the rapids, and swim down the current. Would do it again in a heartbeat.

My wife and I came from Michigan and spent the weekend (our anniversary) at Ace Adventure Resort. We camped at the mountain top campground, spent Friday afternoon at the water park, and did an all day rafting trip on the lower new river. Had an awesome time with everything we did!! The staff was top notch and our rafting guide (Phil) was amazing! Also the food and service at the lost paddle bar and grill was 5-star! Really wish this place wasn't 8 hours away, because we can't wait to come back! Hope to come back and do a trip down the Gauley river with Phil in the fall!

Getting a little pricey on people who aren't there to swim, but to watch our children. Used to be free. Pathetic on that part. We don't use water area, we always order pizza, but just recently started charging to sit.

Grossly Negligent - See details in TripAdvisor. Ace Guides are essentially forced to accept any sober person who has paid. You may be put on a raft with a dangerous person who has "Psychological Impairments to Swimming" by Ace's definition, doesn't follow instructions, or (morbidly) obese who causes hard work for everyone else. They even take someone who can't follow instructions because of mental disabilities or they don't speak English. DO NOT GO unless you have a full group of 8. Otherwise, they can put in weak people with you and endanger the whole group. Also, it is ILLEGAL to be injured and fail to report it -- crazy WV law. So if you are injured, no matter how small, report it immediately in writing with your name and address. Ace has many injuries due to gross negligence. If a loved one dies or is injured, sue Ace for GROSS negligence (not regular negligence that you sign away in the waiver form). They have had a huge problem for years in not allowing unsafe people to ride with you.

Great place to get away and enjoy the outdoors. Chalet was Beautiful. Staff was excellent. Plenty of things to do for the whole family. We did a trip down the Upper New River and had a great time. Ace really takes care of you, plenty of well trained guides on our river trip.

This place saved my life! As a wounded combat veteran, i appreciate this place so much. I enjoyed my time there with my brothers in the wounded warrior project. I was there as patt of their Project Odyssey retreat for combat stress recovery. I went from suicidal to loving my life. Thank you!

Went whitewater rafting for Bridge Day for the first time. It was such a great experience. Ace really does it right. The equipment is well maintained and the guides really know their stuff!! A special thanks to our awesome guide Kelly, she really made the trip memorable!!

This place was great. Went with my son's scout troop. The White Water Rafting experience was a blast, great rapids and wonderful scenery. After the rafting, the boys got to enjoy a few hours on the inflatables in the lake. Dinner buffet was very good also, enjoyed the roasted pig! Campground had a lot of space, not many people camping, so it kept it relatively quiet at night.

We had such a great time at ACE and can't wait to come back for an even longer stay! The cabin was clean, air conditioned, and had a hot tub! The food at the restaurant was fantastic. And the excursion + guides were AMAZING! We did the Multi-Sport Pontoon Boat adventure with Shane and Terry and they were so friendly, and made our time in WV perfect.

As expensive as it is, you can spend the entire day here, bring a cooler, and they have a pretty decent pizza place.

My family and I went to to "Nightmare on the Gorge" at Ace this weekend and had a fantastic time. Even the walk up was creepy. But I have to say the customer service was amazing. Everyone was so friendly to begin with, but as I was walking out I looked at my phone and happened to see the notification from my bank of my ticket purchase and I had been over charged. I went to the welcome center, the lady at the ticket counter had realized her mistake soon after we walked toward the haunted houses and she couldn't find us to fix it, but they were ready to make it right as soon as we got there. Loved the event, but the service was even better.

Wow! Talk about an avdenture! Knowledgeful staff. Rafted the lower New River. Very helpful and professional. Had the privilage of having Christy as our guide. She is quite a rapid enthusiast. Knew the River like the back of her hand and knew what to do in every situation. Lunch consisted of pulled pork/ chicken sandwiches. Salads and desert. Will be coming back in the fall!

Fun place to take the kids or go with adults. Nice bar and food was delicious as well

Rafted 2 days, had amazing guides both times (Josh and D-Rock). Stayed in a cabin, was clean and comfortable. Would recommend to anyone.

Far exceeded expectations! EVERY staff member at Ace was friendly, excited and helpful and our whitewater rafting, ziplining and paintball war was great. Hope to have a family reunion there soon. Prices are reasonable. Thanks Ace!!

We had a group of 7 on our first full day trip on the lower new building over gorge. Our instructor, Kevin, was very knowledgeable and made sure all had fun but were also safe. If your looking for the most out of your trip I wouldn t book with anyone else but Ace Adventure Resort! They allowed us to surf the rapids while all of the other groups from other places floated by and weren t allowed too. The lunch they served was way better than I was expecting and they had many options to choose from. Then to top it all off the video and pictures we got were so clear and captured the best parts of our trip. Can t wait to raft with Ace again!

Planning my my fifth trip this summer. Best time ever! They take care of everything. You just need to have fun!

Absolutely stellar rafting outfit. I've visited 4 times now and have always had a tremendous experience. I've only done the rafting (both New & Gauley) but I'll soon venture into the ATVs and other options Ace provides.
ALL the guides are professional, friendly, funny, and provide a peace-of-mind inducing expertise. Always tip your guides! They do a tremendous amount for us!
And there's bar/food available at Lost Padel.

Bathrooms always dirty. Same empty shampoo bottle was on floor of shower stall for 3 days. Proving no one cleaned it. No toilet paper ot paper towel for hands. Kids blow up stuff not always available. Waterslides not available. Campsites are so closs not to mention they have cabins on the ends making it EXTREMELY DIFFICULT FOR YOU TO DRIVE YOUR RV BECAUSE cabin people always park their cars on road.

We spent 2 days at Ace. One day on the lake and the next for Whitewater rafting. They had nice facility's and very nice staff. The area was also very clean. I would definitely recommend!

My boyfriend and I drove 4 hours to get here and it was totally worth it. We spent the first day in Wonderland Waterpark. The water felt great, and the obstacles were definitely more challenging than they look! It was a lot of fun! The food is great and like everyone else says, it s reasonably priced. We camped overnight on Mountain Top and had a fantastic view of the starry night sky. The next day we went whitewater rafting on the New River. Until yesterday, I had never been rafting in my life. Our guide was Randy aka Wolfman. He was very knowledgeable about the river and its history. He was friendly and helpful as well. The rapids looked frightening, but he made it so easy for us to get through the class 4 and 5. He made my first rafting experience unforgettable. I would highly recommend Ace Adventure Resort to anyone who wants something new and exciting to do.. there s hiking, biking, rock climbing, rafting, ziplining, kayaking, fishing, paddle boarding, paintball, ATVs, rappelling.. you can t have a bad time here. We re already planning our next visit!

This place was a lot of fun. My 3 and 6 year old loved all of the inflatables.

I had so much fun with Bear . And the water park was fun . I never ever want to leave ace. My family and I may come back in the fall for wight water rafting . Can u make u stuff a little les expensed . Bye

For paying $100 a night each night for 3 nights, you would think you'd get a discount on one of their activities or even the $60 concert.

We did the Lower New River and it was great, we could've done the lower Gauley on our first time but it was still amazing. Ask for Jeff C as your guide, great guide, enjoys talking (a lot), and knows the ins and outs of the rivers. Trevor and Chris are also a great guides. Highly recommended

Excellent resort with good bar, mountaintop camping, and great adventure trips

Absolutely awesome place for the family! My kids absolutely LOVED it! And the wife and I had alot of fun too! Well worth the price and drive!

Lauren was an AWESOME guide. Spent a long time (4 hrs?) on the river, and it was gorgeous. It was really nice to have lunch provided before hand. Rapids were intense too!
