Excellent white water rafting trip!!! We still keep in touch with our INCREDIBLE guide, Joe. Fantastic time, fantastic people!!!

The guides were terrific! They explained what to expect and what to do in case of trouble. They made it exciting without scaring you too much. Directions were clear. New River Gorge is a beautiful place.

Has good service, good facilities, and is great place to visit

Camped overnight with my family and had an amazing time. Weather was great and waterpark was awesome. Always a spectacular experience.

I highly recommend booking a rafting trip with Ace Adventure Resorts! We took a 12ft. raft and told our guide we wanted the wildest ride possible, and he definitely didn't disappoint!! Thanks Derek!!

From the first call for reservation till we left the grounds of Ace it was one of the best vacations ever , employees go out of their way to make sure we are taking care of , the front desk . Brenda made everything so easy simple , relaxing , the restaurant staff morning and evening are just awesome . and our guide Rambo , what a great person .

Went rafting down the Upper Gauley River last weekend with ACE. I am not kidding when I say this is the most fun thing I have ever done in my life. I wasn't prepared for Class V rapids, but our rafting guide Susan was amazing. She has been guiding this river for a long time, and from what I understand she has trained a lot of guides on the Gauley at ACE. When I go back I'm requesting her specifically. Although I wouldn't recommend it, you could go down this stretch of river with no rafting experience at all with guides like this. They also have a photographer and videographer John, who was hilarious and made a great video and photos from the trip.

As far as the resort, ACE was in incredible shape. They have everything you can do under the sun: Waterparks, mountain biking, rafting, river duckies, mountain climbing, etc. The list goes on
I am definitely coming back in a month or so for "Gauley Season," which is where they do controlled releases of the water from the Summersville dam. This makes Gauley rafting all the more fun, and I intend on finding out how much fun.
If you get the chance to come here, DO IT!!! You will not regret it.

The facility was inviting. The music and staff were welcoming. Come visit and experience an "Appalachia Getaway."

Never been previously, one of the exciting things I've done and I'm retired military. Awesome experience!!!

Lots of fun. Rent an umbrella if its sunny. Kids played so much that on the way back they were passed out with in minutes. They have a half day 9-3 or 3-8 and a full day which goes 9 AM to 8 PM. Half day are more than enough. Food there is not bad. Good place for family fun.

At first we thoight the water park was cool. But, then you realize the water is gross. Our life jacket smelled horrible from the water. Not sure how they keep it swimable.

The staff was really fun ! I wish it was a little more dangerous lol

ACE has a great setup for white water rafting. The guides are experienced and do a great job of keeping you safe! They serve a nice lunch on the water and they have good quality equipment. We had a fantastic time! My only complaints are that we felt slightly rushed between signing paperwork and then getting to our car, driving to the bus area, paying for our gear rental, trying on our gear, changing out of our clothes, returning our stuff to our car which had to be parked a decent distance away, coming back to get our life jackets, helmet, and paddle, and then getting on the bus in time to leave. I think they intend it to be enough time, but logistically we were basically running and panicked. Also at the end of the day it takes a very long time to get the video finished and by that time we couldn't stick around to watch it and there is no other way to watch it or preview it before you purchase it so sadly we just decided not to purchase it. There were also only pictures from one rapid so you don't really get a feel for your trip from just the one set. This is obviously at no disrespect to the guides, photographers, or videographers because they worked really hard and did a great job! It is just some logistical and admin things that I wish were slightly better. Overall a great experience that you will not regret! We will be coming back for more!

Took a group of 13 and camped in the primitive sites on property. The sites we're good, and close to the shower house. The shower temp was hit-or-miss on whether it was warm or cool, but the facility was good. We went river rafting (best rafting of my life!!), played paintball, visited the waterpark, ate all-you-can-eat pizza, went mountain biking, and climbed at the tower. All the activities were excellent, and well-staffed, and the staff were kind and helpful. I wholeheartedly recommend visiting this resort!

Crazy lake with all kinds of water slides and stuff to climb on, zip line, and launch bag (called the blob). Helps to be in some shape also but you can also chill while the kids go nuts. You can get food there or bring your own snacks. Might want to bring chairs unless you get there early and get a spot on the beach. All day passes are pretty cheap also...(in my opinion), but you can get half day passes. Just remember if you get the early pass it might be colder in the morning depending on when you go...

I took my boys out on an Appalachian Mountain Adventure and a whitewater trip was one of their must have items. When researching rafting companies Ace came to the top. As a former kayaker, I was very impressed by our guide and his knowledge of safety in the water. The bus ride to the river contained a very thorough but entertaining safety discussion which we all needed to hear. The rafts are well-maintained and guides very professional yet fun-loving. Our guide's name was Tyson and I would highly recommend him to anyone looking for a fun trip down the New River Gorge!

Great resort...got a great deal on a cabin for the weekend

My family and I went White Water Rafting and it was so much fun! Our guide, Josh, was absolutely wonderful and made sure we had the best experience possible. We were so thankful for him. We also really enjoyed staying in their cozy cabins during our trip. I would definitely recommend checking this place out and would love to go back again!

Did the Lower Gorge all day raft trip. Stew was our guide and he was great. Funny, knowledgeable, friendly. Made our first trip an absolute blast. Planning a long weekend trip to bring the kids to the water park and zip lining; and we will definitely be scheduling another white water tour and requesting Stew!!

Its a great place to get just about everything outdoors. From water to land to air.

The rafting trip was well worth it, and our river guide (Andrew C.) was absolutely phenomenal! The trip down the upper and lower New River was tailored the way we wanted it, and he was extremely informative. Be sure to ask for him by name!
The accommodations were good, especially given how far out of the way the site is. We got a 2 bedroom chalet with a hot tub, and it had all of the usual items you would expect from a hotel. Be careful about what chalet/cottage you choose, as ours only had one bathroom. With 2 adults and 2 teens, it took a little bit of time management to get everyone in and out. Our cottage had a little mouse visitor that was able to enjoy some of our chocolate, but the front desk quickly gave us some passive traps to get rid of him. Again, considering the location, a mouse was the least of our worries with wildlife.
The kids played in the water park after rafting, and we were able to watch them from the shore/eating deck with no problem. They do serve beer and wine, which helps with relaxing.
There is WiFi around the restaurant area, but it is very slow. And cell service is almost non-existent. So if you re looking to go and spend quality time with your tablet, computer, or phone, you can just forget it!!!
Our package included food and gratuities the entire time we were there. I am dead serious when I say the food was phenomenal!!! Everything from a complete spit-bbq pig, brisket, salmon, chicken, if you can think of it, they have it! And it is done extremely well. We were very pleasantly surprised by this. The lunch on the rafting trip is also very good, as it was done by the same kitchen that makes all of your other meals.

Here is the only complaint about the entire package....

We were scheduled for rafting Saturday and water park that evening. Check out was at 10:00 am on Sunday, but our zipline canopy tour didn t start until 1:15pm. So that gave us 3 hours of water park if we wanted it. The only problem with that is there would be no way of showering or drying off due to the early check out.
This can all be avoided if you make sure to get an earlier zip line tour the day you check out. We opted not to go on ours, and just headed back home. Lesson learned.

Overall, this place is great. I recommend it for anyone and everyone! I did not give it 5 stars because that would emply absolute vacation perfection, and they just aren t quite there yet.

This is a special place. I could easily spend a week here. We stayed to nights in a rustic but comfy cabin, hiked, and explored the area.

went white water rafting. had Kevin as our guide for the upper gauley. was a fantastic time and the lunch spot at the waterfall was phenomenal and showed off how good the Ace guides were comparatively.

Coronavirus doesn't seem to exist here! Little masking, even less sanitizing. The life jackets are mildewed, the lake toys are a little scuzzy and we had to ask the waiter to wipe the crumbs off our table in the restaurant. I wiped the mattresses in the cabin tent myself and the wipes picked up Much Dirt.
That said, the cabin was spacious for our family of 4 and we had a nice time at the water park with our own social distancing efforts. It was FULL.
Bathrooms and shower houses are quite far from the cabin tents.
There was music and hubbub at the campground every evening but it quieted down between ten and midnight.
Food was Delicious and the staff were lovely, personable people.
Oh! And the Outlook/Overlook is worth the drive!

Most amazing vacation spot available in WV , outside of pitching a tent at the river! Lol

Great rafting trip! Great guides and awesome water park, cool camping areas.

I would've given a 3 and a half, but there's no half stars. There are several recreational events that you can participate at Age Adventure. There are cabins available to rent, and they need updated and improved or I would've rated hire. You can camp there or just stay for the day.

Had a great time at the resort. In particular Lauren as the guide on our full day rafting was awesome. Had a snafu with the reservation as they transitioned to a new computer system which caused our three day stay in a tent/cabin to be off by one day, but they made it right by putting us up in a cabin the last night at no extra cost. Some of the reviews looked a little sketchy but also seemed older. As far as I am concerned, the place was clean and well maintained. The food service and drinks were good and reasonably priced. I would definitely go back.

Had a wonderful time at ACE. Our tour guide, Bob - is a hillarious dude. And the rafting guide, Matt - also was pretty good with his rafting skill and history about local places.

Just no where better in the fun per dollar category

Great small town, very fun. Went in the winter so great prices on lodging but no outside activities. The nearby bridge is fun to visit, all around great trip.

This place is a great time. The water park is great for adventurous kids. The staff is helpful and friendly. We rafted the Upper New River with Sarah. She was an awesome guide. Answered the 1000 questions out kids asked. Awesome Experience. Will be back.

Brought 5 kids including a almost 2 year old, we all loved the waterpark.

Took an exciting zip line tour. What a crazy, exciting adventure! Have to come back for more. Too much to do in a weekend.

Amazing place for family especially the children have a blast, its great for people of all ages and all children small or large, there is plenty to do and especially in the water whether it be a casual swim or to go out into the deeper end on the obstacles. Plenty of food variety and drink variety so long as you can afford it. Great customer service from employees and all people are required to wear a life jacket if planning to go into the deep part of the water which is something to advise anyways because some of the obstacles can leave you breathless from laughter.

Awesome time, but u better be in decent condition. Can be very tiring as you have to swim to every single thing

Did the Gauly raft ride today and it was an awesome full day trip. Guide Susan and many others made the class 3 to 5 journey eventful. I would highly recommend her and this whitewater excursion to others.

My soulmate and I took a whitewater rafting trip on July 22, 2020, first let me tell you I had been wanting to do this for 20+ years and West Virginia is the place to do it!!! Tug was our personal guide and I would raft any river anywhere in the world with this guy, Tug was funny, he was very dedicated to our safety but more importantly, he committed 1000% to everyone on our boat making sure that everyone had the experience of a lifetime. My recommendations would be to slip someone a $100 bill to ensure you are escorted down the river by TUG he is the best! Lastly and certainly not least we were blessed to have been chosen to be in the same raft with the McCarty family-sometimes part of the adventure is meeting new peeps! The McCarty family were wonderful people to live out this experience and we are thankful to have been part of their experience!

We had a fantastic time and we had the best guide!!! Bryant was AWESOME very knowledgeable about the history as well as his guide experience it was top notch!!!

Whitewater guide was awesome. Facilities blew me away compared to previous rafting trips.

We've been to Ace a few times in the last 8 years and they never disappoint. We took a group of friends White Water Rafting a couple of weekends ago and had an amazing time. Our raft guide, Tug, is the best, he was funny, informative, and really made our trip the best it could be. Looking forward to his podcast Tugs with Tug and going back soon. The cabins are nice, a/c and no wifi- that's how I like my camping. I highly recommend Ace Adventure to everyone.

It was a very fun experience and I would do it again if I have the opportunity in the future.

A group of us stayed here for 3 days last weekend for our first time for the zip lining and white water rafting package (lower new river) Our zip line guides Marianna, Kaitlyn and Mango were great as well as our white water rafting guides, Leaf, Trevor, Bobby and our Bus driver Ricky was hilarious! I was scared to death to even do this but our guide Bobby made me feel as ease, so big thank you to him. We stayed in the Cedar cabin's which were Beautiful and cozy! The food was good, staff super friendly, water park was a blast, Zip lining views were gorgeous and the White water rafting trip was so much fun. With a super yummy lunch served for lunch on the river. What can I say.... We enjoyed the trip so much we want to plan another to come back next year for longer. There was so much more that we were unable to see and do.

It was a ton of fun with a ton of activities. Well maintained facilities and clean. The only reason its a four star is I was disappointed with the paintball facility. The staff running it were great and the courses were great, but there were only two courses. We purchased a four hour paintball package and it got a little old and boring towards the end. I was hoping for a woodland course too.

My friend just got married there this past Saturday. It was so beautiful and the staff were wonderful. The friendliest, kindest people you will ever meet. The reception food from their on-site restaurant was AMAZING! Everything was perfect. Their commitment to making her day perfect was evident and was so touching to see. We stayed on the resort in a cabin and it was stunning. Immaculately clean and comfortable. I had such a good time and can't wait to go back! I highly recommend them as a wedding venue as well. The value can't be beat!

Our family had a great time! Rafting, paint ball, Zipline and water park were all great!!

I took my GF and her kids (12 and 3) to the wonderland aqua park. We had a blast on the inflatables and the "blob" great place to take the family for a day of fun in the sun.

A wonderful zip line course! Recommend for first timers or experienced zip liners. Efficiently set up to maze through the hillside above and through the tree canopies. Guides are excellent!! Other options at the resort include rafting and cabins.

Great hospitality. Love the staff and the atmosphere. There is something for everyone in the family. Secluded in WV with everything you could need on site. Great vacation spot. Tent grounds are excellent and the cabins are amazing and cozy.

Excellent staff cool place but it's built on top of an old coal mine and I imagine there is still contamination from that run off.

Just visited for 1/2 day zip and full day lower New River Rafting trip and our group of 18 family and friends had a wonderful adventure! The zipline was a lot of fun thanks to our guides - Shane, Kayla and Andrew! The rafting trip was awesome. Our guide Kevin Terrell was awesome. He was very knowledgeable about the river and all the rapids. He made the trip fun and exciting and safe! We will be going back and requesting Kevin as our guide.
