I am blessed to have the HIP insurance available to me for the past three years. I have yet to use it. I had to contact customer service for various reasons (one being I worked a seasonal job and lost my coverage because of it) and the customer service is outstanding. I am thankful that I am healthy with perfect health. Being 58 that says a lot. Thank you MDWise.

My aunt and I live d in the same house for some time. Same case number. Unfortunately we were always getting mistaken for one another. Which caused neither of us to get our redetermination papers, and both of us losing out insurance. She is on meds that keep hee alive. I was on Epclusa- the hep c cure.I called daily for 3 weeks and went into the offic 5-6 times. I could NOT get them to expedite my reinstatement before my meds ran out. Now that I'm a week without my meds, I get a paper in the mail telling me IT'S BACK ON!!! You can't start where you left off. You HAVE to start treatment over. The treatment that causes insomnia, nausea, headaches. The works. Thanks md wise for your WoNdErFuL customer service!!

i love MDwise insurance. i have it for my two grandsons and i have never had any problems with their doctors or medications. if i have a question they are there to help me figure things out. they also send me reminders for even the little things that you sometimes forget about. i wouldn't use any other insurance company. i even called one evening and talked with a nurse about one of the boys that was not feeling well and they were very helpful and helped me with my decission as to whether to go to the emergency or not. MDwise rocks.

I am totally and completely disgusted at the online service, how difficult the online system is to use, and the fact that we have tried MULTIPLE times to get my husbands "mymdwise" to work, and we can never retrieve a user name or anything. When we called (weeks ago), we were told his insurance is active, but they don't know why we can't log in. Tech support would call...it never happened...also...when we were searching and found a facility we were looking for (on the online doctor search)...come to find out...they don't TAKE MDWISE. It is still on mdwise online. It was a devestating discovery. When we are eligable to switch, we will NOT stick with this program.

MD Wise has always been helpful to me and it is easy to talk to the people there, my only complaint is that there is a brand of long acting insulin I can't take I had bad reaction to it, and they approved me for the one I was on first, but now every few months, they try to make me try it again and I have to have special approval to get it. So far they have approved it but its just irritating to have to fight with them about it every 2 or 3 months. They know I can't use it but it is cheaper than Humalog so they try to push it on me instead of giving me the humalog. Other than this issue I have had wonderful experiences with them!

Very helpful with helping me understand and direct me via phone and email with perfect continuity, meaning that the next agent already knew what my call is regarding and further helped in any concerns and questions that I had. They answered all! And set my mind at ease in clear understanding. Thank you so much! Exceptional service indeed to say the least. Keep up the great work! :)

Thank you for the affordable coverage, and for 90% of the time I do not have any major issues, but I am having problems with the claims department denying claims due to the misconception that I had other insurance coverage during a certain time period. They paid most of the claims but didn't pay some. I have called countless times about this situation and they have promised me that they are handling it, but I have been sent to collections on 2 claims now. Please help!

Worst insurance company I have ever had to deal with. There customer service reps are great but there claims department must be made up people with an IQ below 0. How many times can you mess up a claim and call it out of network when in fact it s in network. How many times can they screw up? When they stop screwing up, I will let you know. They keep processing a physical lab test as out of network. I called to question this. The customer service rep was confused to because the lab was in network, so they sent it back to claims. Once again I get the benefits breakdown and it is still saying it s out of network. It is March my physical was in August for freaking sake. Oh and I had surgery which they authorized I have the paper and everything that has the authorization number and they keep saying it wasn t authorized. It s been sent back to claims three times already. Are they retarded? Incompetent or just morons? At this point it s hard to tell. Is there even a light burning at the other end in claims?
Update: I am adding this in as of 3/27 mdwise reached out to me to help resolve some of these issues. They were very nice and helpful I am hoping they will be able to fix all these problems. I will update again if or when they resolve the problems.

i have had md wise this year, almost every claim was denied due to "out of network", while in fact it is in network. Always called before service and checked website. Then you call in and they tell you they will review, then they deny, and so it goes. Have a claim from june not settled. Finally filed complaint with indiana department of insurance, and still waiting. Worst insurance company ever!

I had medial branch block on right side which they kill the nerves in my back. Took 4 mths to get approved and now have to wait for the other side to be approved. What takes so long? I make my monthly payments which i haven't worked since March of 2013 after a failed back surgery. I call and i get the run around. Other than the long wait the insurance is good...just slow for approval.

I've been with MdWise for YEARS, faithfully. Practically all my life. But I'm about to switch, because they suck at dental care. I 27, so full dental care is HARD to find. I am in dying need of perio deep cleaning, and 5 times I was denied, because according to them, you have to have significant bone loss, for it to be covered. I am suffering every day in pain, because they wont cover it, and it's too expensive out of pocket. A blister formed behind my two front teeth, I know is due to perio. This blister thing HURTS!!! Its red and irritating. I can't bite, chew or eat in general, because of the sharp pain it sends, when I hit it. I was prescribed a rinse that was DENIED too, and would have cost me 103 out of pocket. I didn't get it, because I could not afford it. My situation is getting worse by the day, and they dont care until you damn near toothless before jumping in. Having neurofibromatosis doesn't help, because patients like us are prone to having skeletal deformities, and this makes it harder to keep my teeth clean. I suffer from a underbite, as well as crooked teeth. Till this day, I can only chew from one side of my mouth, because the rest puts pressure on my jaws. I can kick braces, and corrective jaw surgery to correct my bite, and my declining health issues out the window too. They wont even cover a deep clean. I know the other stuff I NEED to be pain free isn't going to happen. Guess I'll have to continue to suffer, until I can switch providers. But hey, thanks for the free subway and movie.

Extremely rude customer service. Recently asked to have my cell phone number removed from their database, as they were blowing up my phone daily. Three reps and one supervisor later, I'm still getting daily calls and voice mails despite requesting my number be removed (for weeks) from their primary database. I was professional, patient, clear and soft spoken even, however, the last rep and supervisor were beyond rude. There are no excuses for unprofessionalism from a supervisor. HORRIBLE SERVICE. Run away.

THIS INSURANCE IS FOR MY SON. IT IS ABSOLUTELY A GODSEND! HE HASN'T BEEN ABLE TO WORK THE LAST FEW YEARS AND IT HAS GIVEN HIM THE COVERAGE SO HE CAN SEE THE DOCTORS NEEDED. HE IS NOW WORKING HARD TO GET BACK INTO THE WORKFORCE. HOPEFULLY HE WILL BE ON THE RIGHT TRACK SOON!

This "insurance" is a joke. Can you go visit a doctor yes. However that doctor get any say in your medical treatment... Any tests they need to do have to be pre authorized by MDWise "doctors" that have never seen you as the patient. In my case an orthopedic surgeon requested an MRI with a contrast on my shoulder to find the tear in my rotator cuff. That request was denied. Mdwise instead in their infinite wisdom of orthopedic medicine decided that physical therapy for 6 weeks was necessary before they will approve the MRI. This "insurance service" is a worthless as the paper they print the card on. The customer service is as equally worthless as the health coverage itself. Plan to spend a couple hours on the phone to accomplish nothing but learn just how impossible they are willing to make it to get the care you need.

Piece of crap system. I bet Obama runs this too. They need to get their act together. A bunch of amateurs running a system and screwing helpless Americans out of money that they don't have and that's why they went to mdwise and now mdwise is the monster causing all of the problems. Way to go, pat yourselves on the back.

I would recommend MDwise, you have just got to work with them. I was on the ACA then I got a letter saying in Indiana you got to have HIP. I like the way it's set up no copay's. I signed up to get everything by email. It took them a year to get it right. I love the rewards program too. To get people to go to the doctor. I though I did not qualify for Medicaid. I first applied for disability HIP but you can only have 2,000 in one month. So, I did not.

Now I have a clam form IU Health that went to my old one in from 2015. WHY NOW!

They are a terrible company. The phone crew is untrained, unprofessional, and highly clueless. They never follow through with anything, and every time you call back, they have no clue what it is they were supposed to be following up on. Then of course the whole process starts over and then over again and again etc. I guess a lot of patience is necessary. It usually takes 4-14 months to get a bill paid. Unfortunately ive been dumbed down enough that im starting to get accustomed to having collections letters sent to me on a regular basis. But i am always concerned about how it will reflect on my credit score. Of course, they wont answer that question.
I would absolutely LOVE to give them 1 or 0 stars, but i cant complain too much when my family of 4 gets coverage for $28 a month. I guess you get what you pay for. But still, considering i spend 30-50 hours a year on the phone with them, all while constantly worrying about my credit score, is it worth it to me?

Yeah......i guess

Worst health insurance ever. Network is limited, most doctors listed on their website we have called don't even accept mdwise... if your thinking about whether or not to get MDWISE or just pay a tax fine I would recommend you pay the tax fine. Yes they are the cheapest on the government marketplace in Indiana, but the old saying runs true with these jerkoffs, you get what you pay for.

If an insurance company could get 5 stars I would give them five. No they aren't perfect but they are the easiest I have ever had to work with. My wife and I both have them and other than the normal pre-approval stuff all insurance companies require I have no complaints. The only time we were turned down is because they wanted the doctor to do a better more expensive test which was completely covered. I was glad we had them when we had to fight cancer.

Everything was good until the doctor came in he has no patience at all and i have 5 children every single move they made he acted as if je couldn't concentrate. I have a special needs child and and he just blew up at my child. Being a doctor you ars suppose to be tolerant of things. That doctor needs to work elsewhere.

I have always been satisfied with MD Wise....I have made several calls and have always received kind and courteous people to answer my questions. Without MD Wise I could not afford my doctor visits or my medications. Thank you so much for this. I will be going on Medicare shortly but MD Wise has been a blessing to me. Thank you Indiana...

The customer service gals are always spot-on for knowledge of my benefits, issues, and support. The coverage I have is great. There are times I have to wait a longer than usual for approval of certain procedures but they get approved. When I am being taken advantage of by a provider with a billing problem I've even had opportunity to be on-line while the customer service rep called them to inform them of how the state had things laid out. It was refreshing. Though MDWise may not be perfect, but wow, the coverage gives me security and the providers really know what they are doing. All of them.

It would be nice to finally call the phone number, and make a payment to you guys, and have someone not so rude and getting mad at you because they talk so fast, and your trying to understand what they are saying. I have made my payment every month on time, and I stopped receiving bills in the mail because your reps cannot seem to get my ADDRESS correct every single time I call to make a payment and tell them the CORRECT address, so I pay on the phone, and I am greeted by a RUDE person every single time, and someone who hates their job. Make this easier for those who actually pay their BILLS!

Answers promptly and customer service is much better now they've been around a while. Wish you could always talk to the same person, since some are very intelligent and willing to go the extra to help you resolve the problem. Still some confusing issues with the overall system for sure! I give 4 stars today. Admit that some times I only get 1 or 2 stars service. One issue right now rates 0 stars, since I was directed wrongly and will be stuck with a plan, I was told to move to, till I can get someone to move it to the right one, or another remedy. Geesh!

MDWise has been awesome for me. It covers my insulin, all my other medicine as well as the visits. My reason for the 4 stars is because for the past 6 months or so I get the same notice that I am considered medically frail. It's like I have been removed from the HIP+ and they send another letter telling me I am back on it. I have received bills from 2 places stating that I owe a balance. I'm assuming this is caused from the system somehow changing my plan from HIP+ to HIP every other month.

Worst experience I've ever had. We have been trying to get an MRI approved for my son since July. Mdwise either denies it or says crazy things of why he can't have it approved. They said we need a peer to peer which is where my son's actual Dr. Calls mdwise and speaks one on one with them and explains why he NEEDS MRI done, but yet when my Dr calls she says it keeps going to voicemail and mdwise is not responding to her phone calls. Dr only have so much time. We have had to reschedule MRI 3 times now. I feel like my son's care is being jeopardized. He has does many months of therapy etc yet they still will not help us with this test to see what is causing my son's pain. I usually don't do reviews but this has been ridiculous. When I tried to call mdwise they said there is nothing I can do as a parent that the doctor's office just had to keep calling. I feel hopeless with this situation. I'm an upset and concerned parent. Why be an insurance company and not give the care patients deserve.

I agree with Justin. THE WORST INSURANCE EVER. you have to be approved for EVERYTHING!!!! I cannot believe there are no Orthopedic doctors within 75 miles in our network, so don't accidentally break a limb or need orthopedic care in Southwestern Indiana, you'll have to drive 75 miles or more to get it taken care of. I can't wait for open enrollment to switch my insurance.
