The only folks making money with Etsy is Etsy. I have been designing and manufacturing my own line in NYC for more than 20 years, very successfully. I can say with confidence that Etsy is a rip off to sellers.
Etsy treated me right. I ordered a bumper sticker which not only arrived quick but didn't cost me an arm and a leg for shipping . Zazzle sold the same product with a low price and then wanted about $18.00 to ship it to me. I don't think sending a sticker in a envelope cost any where near $18.00.

Cool, personal experience. Ordered a handmade clock for my baby daughter. Seller was prompt, sent the item on time and it's hanging in the hallway near her room. It came with hand-written note. Was a great experience and pretty cheap compared to other clocks.
