This place is absolutely incredible. We arrived at the West Gate and were welcomed by a heard of Bison walking right next to the vehicle. The landscape takes you back to a period beyond human existence. I found the environment to be the most serene experience in my lifetime. I will most definitely come back for another visit in the future.

Incredibly beautiful park. So many different types of landscapes to see. Seeing the bison and other wildlife is a treat. Old Faithful was amazing, the sulfur pots were interesting and Yellowstone lake was beautiful. There is so much more, can't do it in a day. Take your time and enjoy.

Climb the mountains and get their good tidings. Nature's peace will flow into you as sunshine flows into trees. The winds will blow their own freshness into you, and the storms their energy. #clouds #trees #river #mountains #sunset #colorful #joy #happiness #landscapephotography #nature #vm_ph0t0graphy

Quite possibly the most beautiful and incredible park in America. There's a good reason why so many people visit. Truly amazing sites to be seen here. You could easily spend a week here, or a month. I might advise going after peak season, because there's just an insane amount of people. No words can properly articulate the views or smells. Go!

It's Yellowstone, but I didn't realize what that meant before I visited. Pictures don't do it justice. See old faithful once, but check out the less trafficked areas. Leave your laptop at home.

Simply beautiful! I recommend viewing the park over several days. Even with construction traffic was not too bad. I spent 9 hours there and still missed several sights. I can't wait to come back next year.

Woah. This was AMAZING. Soooo pretty. Got to see old faithful and yellowstone lake, along with alot of other amazing wonders of nature. I uploaded a couple of photos of the prismacolor thing. It was pretty cool. Only thing that's not great is the crowds. Lots of people around the time I went. Pretty hot too.

Yellowstone National Park is an American national ...

Yellowstone National Park is an American national park located in Wyoming, Montana, and Idaho. It was established by the U.S. Congress and signed into law by President Ulysses S. Grant on March 1, 1872.Yellowstone was the first national park in the U.S. and is also widely held to be the first national park in the world.[7] The park is known for its wildlife and its many geothermal features, especially Old Faithful geyser, one of its most popular features.[8] It has many types of ecosystems, but the subalpine forest is the most abundant. It is part of the South Central Rockies forests ecoregion.
Native Americans have lived in the Yellowstone region for at least 11,000 years. Aside from visits by mountain men during the early-to-mid-19th century, organized exploration did not begin until the late 1860s. Management and control of the park originally fell under the jurisdiction of the Secretary of the Interior, the first being Columbus Delano. However, the U.S. Army was subsequently commissioned to oversee management of Yellowstone for a 30-year period between 1886 and 1916. In 1917, administration of the park was transferred to the National Park Service, which had been created the previous year. Hundreds of structures have been built and are protected for their architectural and historical significance, and researchers have examined more than a thousand archaeological sites.
National Park spans an area of 3,468.4 square miles (8,983 km2),comprising lakes, canyons, rivers and mountain ranges Yellowstone Lake is one of the largest high-elevation lakes in North America and is centered over the Yellowstone Caldera, the largest supervolcano on the continent. The caldera is considered an active volcano. It has erupted with tremendous force several times in the last two million years. Half of the world's geysers and hydrothermal featuresare in Yellowstone, fueled by this ongoing volcanism. Lava flows and rocks from volcanic eruptions cover most of the land area of Yellowstone. The park is the centerpiece of the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem, the largest remaining nearly-intact ecosystem in the Earth's northern temperate zone.In 1978, Yellowstone was named a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Hundreds of species of mammals, birds, fish, and reptiles have been documented, including several that are either endangered or threatened.[8] The vast forests and grasslands also include unique species of plants. Yellowstone Park is the largest and most famous megafauna location in the contiguous United States. Grizzly bears, wolves, and free-ranging herds of bison and elk live in this park. The Yellowstone Park bison herd is the oldest and largest public bison herd in the United States. Forest fires occur in the park each year; in the large forest fires of 1988, nearly one third of the park was burnt. Yellowstone has numerous recreational opportunities, including hiking, camping, boating, fishing and sightseeing. Paved roads provide close access to the major geothermal areas as well as some of the lakes and waterfalls. During the winter, visitors often access the park by way of guided tours that use either snow coaches or snowmobiles. The park contains the headwaters of the Yellowstone River, from which it takes its historical name. Near the end of the 18th century, French trappers named the river Roche Jaune, which is probably a translation of the Hidatsa name Mi tsi a-da-zi ("Yellow Rock River").[16] Later, American trappers rendered the French name in English as "Yellow Stone". Although it is commonly believed that the river was named for the yellow rocks seen in the Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone, the Native American name source is unclear.
The human history of the park begins at least 11,000 years ago when Native Americans began to hunt and fish in the region. During the construction of the post office in Gardiner, Montana, in the 1950s, an obsidian projectile point of Clovis origin was found that dated from approximately 11,000 years ago.[These Paleo-Indians, of the Clovis culture, used the significant amounts of obsidian

Yellowstone is absolutely beautiful. I was disappointed i hardly saw any wild life, I went the end of August. Still giving it 5 stars, it's a Gorgeous state park and I'm definitely glad I visited!

Absolutely gorgeous! If you're interested in seeing wildlife and a nice drive, definitely head north to Mammoth. It's picturesque and amazing! We saw black bears, grizzlies, elk, pronghorn and a badger. The geothermal areas are incredible as well. Artist Paint Pots had a long line to get into park, but was worth it. Definitely take the trail to Fairy Falls to get the observation look at Grand Prismatic Spring. Gorgeous! I recommend Old Faithful and all the trails there in the evening. Beautiful, cooler temps and fewer people.

This park is a must see. We went there the end of September, right as a few spots of the park were starting to close for the winter. We stayed in Canyon Village, which is basically the east side of the middle of the figure 8. I would stay there again as we were so close to the grand canyon of Yellowstone and it was an easy drive to Lamar Valley and up to Mammoth and down to Old Faithful. Be sure and bring your swimsuit to get in the boiling river. We messed up and did not get up early except for two of our 4 mornings. The early hours is when you see most wildlife. Our last morning we saw and video recorded a bugling moose! It snowed a few minutes one morning and that was neat. We can't wait to go back in the Spring!

Most incredible and diverse place I ve ever been too. It s so well designed for tourism. Super sad the visitor centers were closed, but that s not their fault. They ve handled everything the best they could considering the situation!

Yellowstone is such a beautiful park, so many things to see. Having been there over a dozen times here is my advice. Plan for at least two days in the park to see as much as you can, it is OK to leave some things for another time. You will be driving and walking a lot so be sure to have lots of gas and comfortable shoes. The park stores are great and can help you get stocked up between stops. Camping in the park is a great experience and hearty encouraged. Remember you are in the mountains, it is cold at night and you will need lots of water during the day.

Incredible park. Certainly one of the Crown Jewels of the National Park idea. I can see why it is so popular, many of the popular attractions in Yellowstone are pretty close to the roadway and accessible to all ages.

Yellowstone is a wonder of nature and should be visited by everyone at least once their lifetime. The sights, sounds and even the smells of the place make it most unique as parks go. The campgrounds are well maintained as well of most of the facilities we visited. While the Old Faithful area can be a bit like Disneyland at times, most other area of the park are less busy, though in the middle of summer, the traffic can be intense, especially if a bison decides to take a leisurely stroll along one of the many roadways. Very late summer and early fall seem to be the best time to visit just as the park starts to wind down towards it's seasonal hiatus.

This was a truly unique experience, one I hope everyone gets to have. While my girlfriend and I were only able to visit for a day it has been placed on our very short must revisit location list! While we were there we saw buffalo, moose, elk, bears and more I felt as if I was looking through a window into the past. What an absolutely beautiful place I can not wait to go back.

This was our fourth time visiting. Where does one even begin? The pristine beauty is beyond amazing. It seems like around every turn there is something completely different--from grasslands to canyons to forests...to geothermal features, waterfalls, wildlife encounters, lakes and trout streams, and hiking trails. The visitor centers/museums are great for all ages. Tent camping is by far the best way to experience Yellowstone. You need at least a week to even put a dent in all there is to see and experience.

Loved every minute of it. Saw lots of wildlife including a grizzle bear, swans, elk , bison, mountain goats, and wolfs just to name a few. Beautiful water falls. It even snowed around old faithful.

Yellowstone National Park is the oldest national park in the world, consisting of 3,500 square miles of wild, untamed beauty left aside for the enjoyment of humankind, but also for its own protection. It is a recreation area that is spread across several states, from Wyoming to Idaho and Montana, featuring spectacular and diverse natural features fast alpine rivers, a simmering volcano displaying its power in gushing geysers and hot springs, deep canyons, dense ancient forests, snow-covered mountaintops, breathtaking vistas, and magnificent trails.

And among all that beauty there is a whole world that calls it home bears, elk, wolves, bison, and antelopes. The park is much more than a place to come and have fun, it is a precious national treasure.

My friend Debbie went here for vacation this past January and just loved it. So my family and I are visiting this year in September. We have rented two cabins and plan on fishing and just having some great family fun.

Yellowstone National Park is a nearly 3,500-sq.-mile wilderness recreation area atop a volcanic hot spot. Mostly in Wyoming, the park spreads into parts of Montana and Idaho too. Yellowstone features dramatic canyons, alpine rivers, lush forests, hot springs and gushing geysers, including its most famous, Old Faithful. It's also home to hundreds of animal species, including bears, wolves, bison, elk and antelope

This is one of my most favorite National Parks! The geothermal features are just amazing and everywhere you turn they are and each one is different. We spent 4 weeks here and it still wasn't enough to see all of the features, spot all the various types of animals and drive the beautiful forest roads. This is a must see for everyone!

Wow, what natural beauty and majestic creatures. Be prepared to spend at least a few days here as it is a Massive park (3x size of Rhode Island with almost zero cell phone service). There are so many awe inspiring views and plenty of memories to be made here. Be prepared for 90 degree temps in the summer though. We checked the weather prior to going and everything was confirming mid 70s but that wasn't the case. Leave early as you'll be doing a lot of driving. Better to leave the park as the sun is setting to prevent accidents with the animals as there are no lights on the roads and the bison blend in to the pavement.

We really enjoyed 3 days camping here. Beautiful starry sky, fresh air, and interesting scenery! Our fellow campers were so nice and made our stay wonderful. There is so much to see here. The herds of elk and buffalo, even bears and coyotes, were a delight. The geysers and hot pots are interesting. There are inns to stay in, cabins to rent, or great campgrounds. They have room for trailers and tents with nice facilities for washing dishes and restrooms. We did not see many bears at all, so there was really no worry with the camping.

One of the wonders of the world, in my opinion. Old Faithful, the Grand Canyon, and Grand Prismatic Spring are a must see. The Roosevelt Arch, waterfalls, wildlife, springs, creeks, and rivers are all enjoyable at any season. Just go prepared for any weather.

Take your time, and explore all this park has to offer. You won t be able to see all you want in just one day or one visit plan for multiple days or a return trip. If you rush it, you ll regret rushing.

I only had a couple of hours to visit but I enjoyed every minute of the trip. Some of the most scenic and beautiful protected lands in the world. The diverse and unique landscapes offer numerous geological wonders that can be enjoyed by the whole family. The wildlife is abundant and amazing to see. Hot springs, geysers, natural pools, rivers, lakes, grass covered valleys, dynamic mountains; this park has it all. The maps are easy to read and roads well marked, the staff are friendly as well as helpful, and the opportunities to enjoy the outdoors are numerous if not just short of infinite.

First national park in America, that's worth something, am I right? Plus it's got more than half of the total number of geysers on planet Earth. Americans, foreigners, and outer space aliens should all visit this place.

Yellowstone is a very large and scenic park. Unfortunately like Yosemite and similar places the cost of staying there is very expensive. So start saving and enjoy the natural beauty.
If you're staying by canyon lodge near the east end of Yellowstone make sure to visit artist point about 15min drive, you'll be impressed, if you pass the upper falls and no lines go and stop there also take trail down to fall ~600' decent down but you'll be right at the fall.

So beautiful but please dont get out of your car to take a selfie with a buffalo! Its dangerous and some people don't understand that. Take a trip whenever possible. This place is magically majestic.

Wonderful park. My favorite part about it is the wide range of terrain and landscape available to see, whether it's geysers and springs or waterfalls and forests, the area is simply a treat to drive through. I highly recommend driving through Lamar Valley. Apparently there are wolves if you get there early enough. However, we woke up at 4 AM to drive there and arrive at 6, but still didn't see any wolves. Yet, it's still a gorgeous drive at sunrise and there's plenty of other wildlife like bison, deer, elk, more bison, and moose!

It's great, my only piece of advice after being there a few dozen times. Research less visited parts of the park. Avoid the tour buses full of Chinese Tourists, or school trips! Pack a picnic, and actually stop at picnic tables, and take a break to take in the wilderness! Just don't rush this park!

Ok the geologic features were a must see, wild life was far and few between. The tourist traffic was horrible, park staff was friendly to hateful depending on the person. Was disappointed with the overall experience. From finding camp sites, to having to move from one camp site to another each night.

It s a great place to visit. It might take 2 hours to finish roaming around the place. We started from teton and visited only the west thumb geyser. On the way you will get to see many animals. We got to see three bears and many elks. Lewis falls and the lake are beautiful places you are gonna find on the way. The lake was frozen and it was literally a great view.

The first, and still the best National Park in the world. Amazing views, abundance of sights and amenities, and some of the most beautiful animals all being carefully managed. The service staff is always friendly and helpful and the park service folks (from ecologists to rangers to maintenance) keep the park immaculate.
