Great zoo. Would be amazing if the rides we're excluded with the entry price.
Great zoo. Would be amazing if the rides we're excluded with the entry price.
My favorite was the giraffe feeding, we don't get that in st louis or dc zoo however it could have been better since its pretty pricey. ( st louis and dc, we pay parking but admissions are free.)
Best zoo/ wildlife park in AZ in my opinion. Even my brother from Seattle said it was way better than anything up there. Plus I think they've added more attractions since the last time I was there. On top of that there's a Dillon's bbq on site, you can watch the sharks swim in the tank while u eat.
They need to work on making somethings nicer and safer. It was cheaper then the Phoenix Zoo, but the zoo is much nicer, has paved paths and a nice place to eat. The food area looked like I might get tetanus. Animals looked content and seemed to have plenty of room.
They're doing a lot of construction but other than that it's the same as it has been It was awesome. Tickets are just kind of overpriced in my opinion.
Love this place. Definitely would recommend. Bring your walking shoes and some water, and visit the macaw in the aquarium, he talks sometimes!
I love coming to this zoo! So much to see and do! My family always has so much fun
Food and drink a little pricey but it helps to pay for the upkeep and animal care. Worth it!.
Huge place... We were there for over 3 hours and still only got to see half of the animals. Its and all day trip to see everything. Good cost way way way too much! What do you expect though.
There is simply so much to do here! Phenomenal environment. Active animals. The perfect size exhibits. I will say, if you need to get your steps in for the day but you want to have fun doing it, this is the place to go.
Most fun place I've been to in a long while. Spent most the day and didn't get to see everything!
Not just great food here. It's an experience with the aquarium and flamingos etc. A bit pricey but you can get amazing onion rings for like 2 bucks.
I have always enjoyed this place lots of hands on experiences with the animals, well priced, rides are fun, ive been to a lot of zoos and a lot of places and this one still remains my favorite
I went with P.H Gonzalez Elementary school kindergarteners, they loved it!! Not my first time but
Fantastic time exploring and learning about land an sea animals. Lived how close we were.
This place is huge, it has lots of animals, aquarium, rides, tram, skyride etc etc.. dont miss petting zoo kids will enjoy.. we definitely decided to go more often. Inside zoo it's dirt road, please go with your walking shoes, plan to be here for a day to cover everything
This is the absolute best zoo in the valley, hands down. It blows phoenix zoo out of the water. In all of the zoo's I've been to, this is the closest I've ever been to a tiger. Literally 5 feet away (it was sleeping at the edge of the fence). None of the exhibits have the typical setup with a moat around an enclosure that is 35 feet lower than the area you are standing at. Typically here you are nearly face to face with every animal.
Surprisingly all the negative reviews are about the pricing rather than the health of the animals. Let me start off with my favorite species that this park happens to have- axolotls.
I am a long time owner and breeder of axolotls. I obviously know about the care of these endangered guys as well as how to keep them not only happy, but healthy.
When I visited this park I was disgusted with their habitat. They had AT LEAST 7 axolotls in a tank that couldn't be more than 55 gallons. Axolotls need 20 gallons for one, and then an additional 10 gallons per axolotl- which means 7 axolotls would need 90 gallons at least.
My second point is that there are also FISH in with the axolotls- the only fish you can keep with axolotls are guppies. The axolotls will get picked on by the fish, and the axolotls will be eaten alive by the fish until the axolotls eat them. Axolotls cannot digest bones, and they will be stuck in their stomach. Fish other than guppies also have too much thiamine and fat, as well as amino acids to be healthy for axolotls to eat.
The axolotls are also on gravel, which is small rocks. When axolotls eat, they basically just inhale really deeply. When they do this, they inhale water as well as whatever substrate they are on. Axolotls can't digest rocks- so they will inhale the gravel and it will be stuck in their stomach forever, creating impaction which will cause them to stop eating and essentially die. Sand and slate are the only two safe substrates for axolotls.
I contacted the head of the aquarium, Mickey, multiple times about the care of this to try to get them fixed. I have a genuine love for this species, they are all so personable and loving. Mickey told me he didn't care and he knows what he's doing, and unless I want to buy books regarding axolotl care and personally bring them in and show him where it says these "insane accusations", he wasn't changing anything. He told me his last group of axolotls had lived between 5-7 years old. Their lifespan is 15-20 years old. He proceeded to hang up on me when I told him his. I called 3 times after that with no response.
This "zoo" clearly has no care for the animals they have. Most of the aquatics are in improper enclosures, which shows by the stressed fish. Many have stress stripes or just look unhealthy.
The birds also show signs of stress and anxiety- they've torn all of their feathers out.
All of the animals in the petting zoo are severely obese- I'm truly surprised if any of them have lived half of an expected lifespan.
All in all, this zoo is just trying to profit off of the sad and unfulfilling lives of sickly and distressed animals. I would NOT recommend spending your money here. All you're doing is feeding into the problem.
I love it there it is the best place to go for all day
Great zoo. Huge shout out to the lady who gave us the complimentary guest pass for rides on 7/29/17 on her way out. You made our day 10 times better!
Great zoo, love the up close encounters, such as with the giraffes. Wish some exhibits provided the animals with a bit more room, such as the tigers, cougars, lion and bear. No room for them to run or explore. They seem very sad and bored. A bit more forethought in their planning and design could correct this. Overall, it was fun, but not as aesthetically manicured as the Phoenix Zoo.
Sadly the last visit will be our last even with the coupon it was just way to expensive to get in then once you get in it's just as bad price wise. I really don't know how a big family can afford it.
Had a great time. This is our third visit as tourists. The park has added so much more. I do wish they hired cleanup crews as having so many schools visiting cafe areas were a terrible mess, bathrooms were just unusable.
Kids loved it ,I loved ,its a zoo whats not to love ,and its affordable.
My family really enjoys this zoo. Not only is it close by, there's so much to do & see. It's worth getting the annual membership so you can take your time rather than feeling the need to see it all in one day. They've had an expansion recently & more to come . . .can't wait too see what's to come!
I love going here. The exhibits are great and they have plenty of veriety. They have eateries place all over, so not matter where your are you can grab some food and drink. The con is the price, they are about 10 bucks more per person than the Phoenix zoo. The rides are also very expensive, 6-15 bucks per person per ride.
My family goes every thanksgiving and we love it! They seem to always be upgrading and improving the zoo. It is a great place to spend with the family and friends.
Overall it was a great experience! The price is a little high, so make sure you have a coupon! I'm giving 4 stars though because I feel like some of the enclosures are too small, like the ones for the tigers and lions.
Tons of fun. Spent 4.5hours and still did not see/do everything in the zoo. The membership is pricey but pays itself off in just 3 visits.
To many birds for me, they all started to look the same after a bit, the animal nursery was my favorite though.
Where do I start its 44 dollars to get into the park another 6 dollars to ride any of the rides and and then the food is very expensive. Also came for my son's birthday mainly to feed the Giraffe's and that was closed as well. I feel like I wasted money coming here.
Best zoo and aquarium in Phoenix, we always enjoy our visit.
So much to see!
perfect way to kill an afternoon off, only thing that felt off about this place is the fact that some of the animals didn't seem to happy about the size of the cages they were held in plus the mouse habitat kinda smelled pretty bad.
Had a great time with the family. This was my first visit to the Wildlife World Zoo. My 2 year old love it. The food prices were a little steep but the atmosphere and up close experience was great. All things considered a great place to visit. I'd recommend the Wildlife World Zoo to all.
It is a little on the pricey side but so worth it. It blew the doors off of Brookfield Zoo in Illinois. Loved feeding the giraffes and stingrays. Chairlift across parts of the park was amazing as well and little sideshows. Loved it and will go back
This zoo is the best! Ample parking, not too crowded. You get to feed giraffes for 50 cents, get up close to Kangaroos, enjoy a train ride around the animals, etc.
When it's too hot, we enjoy the indoor aquarium and indoor exhibits.
Worth the price and the drive from Phoenix!
Great experienced, amazing place to spend the day with the family.
Other than the high price, it's a good zoo, and they're growing larger with new construction
Loved it there, lots of animals to see. Lots of walking. They have a white alligator.
Kids love it I guess only advice I have is do not wear new shoes wear old pair all dirt for the most part you will leave dusty.
1.5 years ago admission was not this high. Employees look irritated, animals escaping, faulty train it broke down and we had to get off and walk. Most animals looked hungry, skinny and sad. It was awful!
So much to see, requires more time to take it all in.
Over all it s pretty nice. Animals seem to be well taken care of. Some areas of the Zoo are a little run down and over grown. Ducks, ducks everywhere they are taking the place over it would seem. Its expensive for a family of 6. You have to pay extra for the rides which is BS if you ask me
Great big zoo. Lots to see, with monkeys and birds in every area. Highlights for me were the albino alligator, turtle and feeding the giraffes. It would be nice if things inside weren't cash only and if they were included in admission like the train and gondola. Still a great visit
Rundown, dirt paths and expensive. Cost 2 adults and 1 child $80. We stayed an hr and left. Once inside expect to pay extra for any rides or attractions. Very dissappointing, we spent nearly $100 that we wish we would have somewhere else.
Fun zoo to visit. It's spread out, so wear comfy shoes. I recommend getting there early as you can see some of the animals being fed and it's cooler.
Lots of amazing animals, but it could use some updating. It looks a bit run down in some areas. Staff wasn t overly friendly. The bird feeding and petting zoo areas were hits with the kids. I have been there numerous times over the past 30 years.
Always a great go-to for a family outing, animals look like they're being treated well and the ability to interact with some of them is great for the little ones. The passenger train ride to see some of the larger animals is always fun. The only gripe is it can be a bit pricey but a great spot for family time!
A lot bigger than we thought, grandkids were completely wore out before we could see half the park
Mostly dirt road. A lot of animals. Big area. Not too crowded.
Place was very dirty. They had vending machines around for water and Gatorade but they took my money but were not working. It was extremely hot this day but the way the grounds are laid out you have to keep back tracking and everything was dusty. Animals were well taken care of though
My family loves this zoo! So many awesome animals to see. You could spend a whole day and not see everything.
FUN ZOO! Tons of animals, also has a lot of theme park type rides. Different food options, although it is a little pricey. No outside food or drinks are allowed, but they do allow reentry so you can eat lunch in the car, which I recommend! Two decent gift shops, but not a ton of different merchandise.
A great Zoo! I love how up close you are to all the animals! Great for children because they can see everything and it isn't a huge zoo. You can see everything in a couple hours.
I enjoyed our trip to the Wildlife World Zoo. We went early in the morning when they opened at 9 and there were so few people we could explore the park and see the animals at our leisure. As the day warmed up we visited the aquarium to cool off and finished our trip with a visit to Dylan's BBQ for some good lunch. While not on the same level as larger zoos it was still an enjoyable experience with a wide variety of animals. Would visit again.
So many animals to see but at my age my feet gave out first. We will be going back.
My family loved this zoo! Will be coming back when it cools off!
Perhaps the nicest zoo I've been to. The animals are active and kids love it!
It was an amazing experience I loved dragon world it was so much fun!
Much better then Brookfield Zoo in Chicago! Well Worth it!!
There was so many different animals and exhibits to see here. We didn't even make it through half of the place. We did get to feed the giraffes [it costs .50 cents to feed CERTAIN ANIMALS throughout the park. They have a pond with HUGE KOI FISH. You put .50 cents into a coin-operated dispenser and get a small handful of fish food. Same for the giraffes, and the ducks, and several other animal exhibits.] Sting Rays cost $3 dollars to feed. All rides cost $6 dollars per person. If you have children, YOU COULD EASILY SPEND THE ENTIRE DAY AT THIS ZOO because there's so much to see and do there!
I m a total animal lover. I was actually born on earth day and I care deeply for the planet and all of Gods creations. I couldn t think of a better way to spend my birthday than getting to encounter some wild animals. For my cons, I was a bit disappointed to see some areas of the park did close at certain times, certain animal encounters and what not. Also, very few shows seem to be happening, which is probably for the better considering our crazy heat. They had a log ride that seemed to be out of order or not running which I m sure the kids would ve enjoyed. The sky tram (I forgot the actual name) was a bit old but served its purpose, I just wish it had different stops, and took you to the front of the park.
The pros, the park is massive with animals to see at every turn. Being able to feed the giraffes was the most memorable thing to do without a doubt (bring quarters to buy the food), they re beautiful. My second favorite thing to do was feed the animals in the small petting zoo that s near the exit. The goats ran up to me soon as I entered the fenced in area and I got to feed some deer, again very memorable.
In closing, I feel every animal loving Arizona resident needs to visit the wildlife world zoo. Bring your kids and let them experience these beautiful majestic creatures and hopefully instill in them empathy and compassion for all animals.
Cool experience having dinner next to the huge fish tank with sharks, eel & stingray swimming right by you!
We have taken our family to this zoo a few times. We enjoy how close you can get to the animals. There are nice walking paths for strollers too, and the reptile and sea life buildings are neat. The reason for the lower rating is it is not cheap! Find a coupon or group on and enjoy!
The problem I have is that this zoo doesn't have a subscription with Rural Metro Fire. Basically what this means is that if you or a loved one has an emergency at the park, and need medical assistance, you better be prepared for a very expensive bill. Because the park is outside the municipality, emergency response is not covered. Make sure your health insurance covers this type of situation before you go, or at least understand what the risk is. Why doesn't the park have a subscription? I can only guess as to why. As far as the zoo itself? was not worth the risk and was dirty.
So much better than Out of Africa or the Phoenix zoo. Lots of great exhibits and it seems the staff has a genuine level of care for the animals. Very humid though due to the environment. Recommend going on the fall or after the holidays to be more enjoyable. Great experience otherwise!
My Kids loved the zoo, an excellent way to fill a day when visiting the area. We stayed most of the afternoon and only managed to see 1/2 of it! Only complaint is their admission rates are pretty high.
I love the zoo and its one of the most enjoyable things in Arizona. Best place ever <3
Greatest zoo I have ever been too.must go if in the area.worth the money...will be back again.
It's neat. Very close animal encounters. The food is terrible.
