Petals & Lace, Inc. Review

So Petals and Lace is where I bought my wedding dress. And things started out great. But my bad experience didn t happen until the very end when I was about to get my dress. So we added a modesty panel in the back of my dress because it was very low cut. And I told her I needed buttons on the panel since the buttons continued all the way up the back of my dress right up to the start of the modesty panel. At first she acted like it was an issue saying we never discussed buttons. But she did add them. But they were not lined up with the other buttons on the dress! When my mom pointed that out she told my mom that she should cut them off and show her where she wanted them since Both me and the seamstress think [the buttons] are straight and claimed that since the modesty panel was a floating panel that the curve of my body made them misaligned. So whatever she took a few buttons off and fixed them. They still weren t completely straight but they were better than before and she was still insisting that they were straight before. Then at the end of our time there. We were getting ready to leave, I asked if they had re-steamed my veil, since I had borrowed it for my hair trial. She then says there is significant damage to the veil. To our surprise there are three holes. One large one (about the size of three quarters!) and two smaller ones (maybe the size of a quarter). We were shocked. Not only because I had only had the bag in my car and at the salon. It was only taken out of the bag for two minutes and never touched the floor. But also because, for something that was significantly damaged she didn t mention it when we first walked in. She waited until I asked about it. Almost as if she wasn t planning on mentioning it to us. In any case. We paid an additional $30 to get the ripped part of the veil cut off and looking like it hadn t been damaged. This is not to mention the way she treated any of my bridesmaids. Or how she bullied me and my mom into paying the plus size surcharge for one of my bridesmaids, despite the fact she forgot to collect that fee when the dress was picked up, never told me or the bridesmaid for sure what the fee was, and told her mom who picked up her dress that it was paid in full. So even though my experience was fine up until the end DO NOT go here. It is not worth the hassle. It seemed like since she had already been paid she was not happy to continue to fix my dress as she should have per our contract. She finished out transaction leaving a horrible taste in my mouth. And I wouldn t recommend this place to anyone.

While the girls who worked there were so very sweet, the owner was HORRIBLY RUDE to everyone...me, my bridesmaids, and her workers. I felt so bad for the people that worked there. She was literally screaming through the store. We were ready to leave in under 5 minutes simply because of her rudeness. You simply DON'T treat people that way.

Best place to find you dream dress! I couldn't have made a better decision. I set up an appointment and when I arrived, the suite was set up and the assistants were there ready to go. I was never left without a staff member the entire time. I had already given them style numbers that I liked and they had several dresses that were very similar pulled and ready for me to try on. Karen was very sweet and very good about giving me her honest opinion. She gave us a lot of information about each dress and NEVER went over budget. She was friendly and cordial to all my family and friends that came. This was the first place I went to find a dress, and I walked out with it! Overall, they were very professional and knew exactly what they were doing!

I have now bought three bridesmaids dresses from Petals and Lace. Last year, I bought a bridesmaids dress for my friends wedding then recommended this store to my future sister in law and friend who are getting married a week apart. I recommended this store solely on the price of the dress. However, I now regret recommending my loved ones this store. Karen is absolutely rude and has terrible customer service. She orders her associates around like they are second class citizens. My future sister in law bought her dress from Karen and wanted to add a flower detail. Karen told her to email a picture of what she wants and she could make it. She made something that looked nothing like the picture and sewed it on her dress without her seeing it or getting her permission. She then charged her for this! Karen also asked her if she was an emotional eater during one of her fittings. She waited weeks to ship dressesto out of town bridesmaids for my friends wedding. Karen has discussed with me while ordering my dresses her personal life of having to raise her two ADHD grandsons. While I emphathize with her situation, that is an inappropriate topic to discuss with a customer. Do not buy from here. Go somewhere that has better customer service because it is not here.

I would never give this lady my business. Karen, the owner, was actually pretty sweet to our faces. However, the way she treated her employees was disgusting. I wanted to whisper to them QUIT!!! She was constantly ordering them around without a "please" or "thank you" once. Not even "Can you hand me a pin..." just "GIVE ME THIS hand me that, find the colors in this dress, measure that, etc.".. It literally reminded me of a slave/master relationship. So so sad. I have no doubt that this lady does know her stuff really well, but the whole time she was bragging about all the famous people she's dressed, talking down on other bridal stores that "don't know how to order right", etc. I actually really did find a wedding dress I loved here, but I cannot justify giving her my business after seeing the way she treated her young employees and how she seemed better than everyone else and very entitled. Not a way to run a business.

Karen is AWESOME! I went there looking for dresses for my bridesmaids and she made the experience so easy and fun. I loved the whole atmosphere of her shop and her bridal suite was to die for. I ended up finding my wedding dress there and I couldn't be happier! I would recommend her to everyone I know!

I had an excellent purchase experience. Karen and her staff were very attentive, helpful, patient, and I even purchased a dress that Karen recommended for me. The shop is beautiful and she has an extensive amount of dresses and she very clearly has experience in the industry. However, after the purchase, the level of service went down hill from the staff. Karen was still responsive via email if I ever had a question, but the alteration experience was awful. My dress was taken in too tightly and even when I made the comment I couldn't breathe in it, it was fine. Additiinally, at two separate fitting appointments, no one assisted me in putting the dress on which had to be lifted over my head. Extremely upset, I ended up going somewhere else for alterations and paid several hundred more to have the dress fixed....and there were many, MANY, additional alterations needed. I emailed Karen, and my seamstress contacted her respectfully requesting a refund for rhe alterations but I have yet to hear back from her. In summary, purchase a dress there, but do NOT get alterations done there.

Drove 2 hours to get here definitely do not regret. very nice service very helpful if you need help with prom this is the place to go !

I ve bought many dresses here and I ve always found a dress I love! Always a pleasure to shop here and they even give you dress suggestions similar to what you like/ask for. Very nice staff and very pleasant business! Great for prom, weddings, and pageants!

I loved my whole experience here! My 3rd dress I tried on was my dress! They were good at listening at what I wanted and I would recommend this place to anyone getting married!

Awful experience. Came here wedding dress shopping with my sister. Short explanation: the facility is odd and outdated and the owner Karen is greedy, condescending and downright heartless.

For those looking for a more detailed story:

1 - The store is actually a brick house that looks nothing like a business. It's dark and cluttered with bridal and pageant dresses. The bridal room was gaudy. No effort was made to remodel the home into a dress shop so two of our party sat in a bedroom closet to view the dresses.

2 - When we told Karen that my sis changed her mind on the dress style she liked, Karen responded very sternly, "Well that's NOT what you said in your email and that's NOT what we've pulled for you to try on."

3 - She treated her employees like second-class citizens. I can't imagine they stick around for long. It was embarrassing to watch.

4 - She constantly dogged other dress shops. When she asked what brand names we'd tried and we said we weren't sure, she said, "The dress shops you went to DIDN'T EVEN KNOW THE BRANDS OF THEIR DRESSES??" We said they probably did know but we never asked because it wasn't important to us - we just wanted my sis to find a dress she loved. She said we clearly had too much energy from the last shop to actually know what we wanted.

5 - She lectured us on the importance of brand names before every dress and how no other stores carried dresses as nice as hers. She even lectured me and the other bridesmaids about how we wouldn't be able to find any bridesmaids dresses as nice as hers.

6 - My mom talked with Karen about our price point and after belittling us about how low she felt it was, she went in to the next room to further badger my sister about her budget and how she was going to be very limited on what she could buy, etc. She purposely cornered my sister away from my mom so she could try to talk her into spending more than she could afford. I have no doubt she has done this to many brides and pulled on quite a few parents' heart strings. Admittedly, she did have beautiful dresses. But the first dress my sister absolutely loved...was $800 over her budget. $800!!! My mother was so furious she confronted Karen when my sister left to take it off. Karen condescendingly interrupted her and said, "Okay, um, I'm the owner. Karen. Hi. I make decisions on the prices and because your daughter's future husband is military and because she is a perfect size 6, I can make sure this dress is in her price range." At that point my mother backed down and we thought, okay, she's rude, she's gruff, she cares way too much about brand names, but she's prepared to do us a solid so my sister can have the dress of her dreams and we respect that.

7 - THE KICKER: As we were leaving Karen casually said, "And remember, that price offer only lasts until 5pm today. After that I'll have to charge the extra $800." WHAT?! Because after 5pm my sister's fiance won't be military and she won't be a size 6 and Karen won't be the owner who can make decisions on prices? Mind you, we arrived around 12:30, so essentially my sister had one afternoon to make the most important wardrobe decision of her life. It was such awkward timing (I'm sure that was done on purpose) that we didn't know whether to stop and confront Karen or keep going. So we just got into our cars and left, then called each other and asked, "Did she really say that? Did anyone else hear her say that??"

My poor sister was so anxious and overwhelmed. At lunch she decided against the dress. Not because she didn't love it; not because it didn't look amazing on her; not even because of the price. But because she didn't want to have to work with Karen again.

This woman does not care about brides or the fact that these women coming to her just want to look beautiful while they make the most important commitment of their lives and not go into financial ruin to do it. She is all about the money and the brands. Don't waste your time going here. It will only be a negative mark on your wedding experience.

Much better option: Village Bridal!!

My daughter and I had been to one store, looking for a prom dress. It was not a good experience at all and we weren't looking forward to more shopping.
We came to Petals & Lace without any expectations, and I'm sure glad we did.

From the moment we walked in, we were treated like we were their only customer. They were helpful, encouraging, and made the whole experience memorable.

Their prices are fair, the selection was overwhelming but in a good way! We left with the perfect dress and I couldn't be happier.

There's a lot of places to go for formal wear, but not every store will treat you with such professionalism and genuine care.

You only get your senior prom once, I wholeheartedly recommend Petals & Lace to make the whole experience amazing.

This staff is very experienced. They always do a great job to ensure you look and feel fabulous on your special day whether it be prom, wedding, pageant or auditions. I have worked with this staff over 12 years for prom and dance audition preparation and they always do a great job of making sure I look my best and shine on my special day. :)

Karen is the best. We have been buying dresses from her forever, and have never met anyone that knows more about the industry than Ms. Karen. If it is out there she knows about it and either has it or can get it. But today was a first- we purchased a prom dress for our youngest daughters Sr prom, and a wedding dress for the older daughter. Thank you to Ms. Karen and her wonderful staff for all your help.

My daughter wanted a hard to find dress and Petals & Lace ordered the dress and altered it to fit my daughter perfectly! We live 45 minutes away, but the professionalism is worth the drive!

My family and I have been going to Petals and Lace since my mother was in high school and it s AMAZING! Karen is amazing and so are her employees. She s very straight forward and to the point. She altered my grandmother s 50+ year old wedding dress for my older sister and it was beautiful! I have personally gotten formals, my wedding dress and all of my bridesmaids dresses there! Best experience! HIGHLY RECOMMEND

Owner is very rude to not only customers but her employees too. My mom paid $600 for a dress then when it came in it was in poor condition the beads were hanging off and the back of the top pice was so poorly constructed it busted open when I tried it on but they said it was fine. I get home and re-try it on for my grandma to see and the back of the top is ripped from where it busted, and I see that they order me a 8 instead of a 10 like I had asked for when I tried on a size 6 in the beginning I asked for two sizes up because most dresses are sized evenly. The owner proceeded to tell me and my mom that maybe I had gained weight and need to loss a few pounds...... who tells a customer that!!!! Well we go back up the And my mom proceeds to tell her what needs to be fixed and the owner just keeps trying to one up my mom, by not only acting like she was better then us but compare her life to ours trying to make it like she was worse off, when she is sitting there bossing her young employees around and just sits at her desk doesn t even get up to measure me or anything. And then she tells us we have to pay more money to get it fixed after they gave it to me this way. My mom told her we would take it somewhere else and Then she told us she would send us the extra fabric and beads to fix it and took our address and number. It s been almost 2 Months and we have still not received the extra fabric and beads. We will not be going back here and we will get the word out of how bad the owner is! Don t shop here!

I have spent a lot of time thinking about how to put into words the experience my daughter and I shared at this establishment. We travelled three hours to try on a mori lee wedding gown that my daughter was nearly certain she wanted to have for her very special day.
We ordered the gown from Karen and I must say we were treated like a perspective customer on the first visit to this shop.
After the gown arrived in the shop, we returned to try on the gown to see if it fit. My daughter was treated very badly to say the least. My daughter was in tears while in the dressing room that was smaller than the dressing room of a good will store. This was due to the words that was said to her by Karen. While buttoning her gown, after having to be asked for help, her first words were and I Quote Oh, this is not Pretty. This terrified my daughter because she could not see what Karen was talking about.
Now, I don t have high expectations of others, however, my daughter and I had a once in a lifetime experience taken from us that day. My daughter is a 23 year old bride, first marriage in June and her one wedding gown for her life had this experience for the memories we had hopes of sharing.
We never dreamed that spending that kind of money, on what we were told was a custom gown would earn us such treatment.
Could have gone to Kleinfields cheaper and I m certain we would not have been treated as we were at Petals and Lace in Nashville.
So Brides rethink if this is a route you are considering.
I actually have waited three weeks since our visit before I posted this so that I would not have allowed my emotions to guide the words that I said.
Bride dress shopping is a once in a lifetime experience shared by a mother and daughter and you will not get the chance for a redo. Enter this place of business with caution.
If you do go here as we did, be aware that you may be told that you need to order now or the gown may not come in on time. Especially if you say you are going to lunch to think about it before you commit to the contract and pay for the gown.
Lesson Learned at the expense of my daughter dream wedding gown experience. :(

A wonderful experience for the COVID-era bride! I brought my cousin to Petals & Lace for her initial exploration into wedding dress shopping. They were very sweet and professional when setting up the appointment, asking great questions to understand style and preferences in advance of our appointment. They were able to accommodate our party with a private fitting room with everyone wearing masks, so we could look through gowns in a low risk environment. They pulled a variety of dresses in advance of our visit so we had a good variety of options to get us started. The staff were delightful and really ensured my cousin was well-taken care of throughout.

On top of the great customer service and pleasant environment, Petals and Lace has gorgeous dresses! My cousin was able to find several stunning gowns within her budget. Every bride should have an experience like that. Now on to the tricky part: Making a choice!!

Karen has been amazing throughout my entire process of finding 10 BRIDESMAID DRESS! YES 10! She was so knowledgeable about the ordering process and bridal fashion in general. When I wanted to customize the dresses (by adding a bow), she was all for it and willing to make it happen.

Worst place ever, nothing was altered correctly, lady that owns place is very rude. Treated her employees terrible.

The girls and Karen were all so polite and welcoming! Karen kept constant contact with me for the 3 weeks leading to my appointment. Everyone made this day and process wonderful. I cannot wait for my dress and wedding

They were AMAZING!!!! I was in a bit of a time crunch, and they took care of me and my wedding dress. They did the alterations for me, and I was so happy. I couldn t believe how beautiful my dress looked when I put it on, and I also looked 10 pounds lighter, lol!!! I highly recommend Petals & Lace for dress alterations!!!

The service was EXCELLENT! The staff stayed with us and helped with everything! Huge selection and organized by style. The staff were so welcoming. Also my Mom loved the cupcake! Highly recommended!

Do not purchase your dress here. I will say- I found my dream dress at the shop and Karen is experienced in the industry. But- the whole entire dress experience at the shop was the worst part of my wedding planning and should be the best experience ever. The customer service by Karen was awful. She was very fake and spoke down to her employees in a very negative way as they were her workers as she just stood there and told them what to do by pointing. She was decent up until i bought the dress- then she was completely uninterested in me.
Before purchasing the dress I made it clear of the bustle i wanted and how I wanted my sleeves. Once my dress came in- Karen told me she couldn t alter my sleeves the way I wanted. She was not willing to alter the sleeves until i told her it had to be fixed and reminded her she told me they could be.
In addition- Karen said my dress would look awful with the bustle I wanted and she didn t want to be part of that. So, one of her sweet employees helped me re do my bustle for 1.5 hours. It still was not good and annoyed me all night...But the best a brand new employee and myself could come up with.
Lastly she said I would be white trash if i didn t bring her a picture. That is just unprofessional and rude. If you want to feel beautiful and have positive vibes in your wedding dress- don t go here.

I had an incredible experience shopping for a bridesmaid dress at Petals & Lace! These ladies are experienced and knowledgeable. They have a great selection and excellent customer service.

Not only is the owner unbelievably rude to her customers, she also is not good at what she does. She is a liar, a scammer, and a bully. My dress was a couple sizes too big, and when I told her that my measurements (that she had done) were written down incorrectly, she got an attitude with me. I had gained a few pounds since getting measured but she thought I had lost enough weight to lose 3 sizes. She was angry that my dress did not fit and accused and interrogated me about what I was eating, if I was exercising, even asked me what medications I was on. I was humiliated in front of other customers and my fellow bridesmaid and her employees. She continued to harass and interrogate myself and a fellow bridesmaid about our supposed weight loss for about 10 minutes until I finally gave her an answer to shut her up. She was obviously trying to bully me into thinking her mess up was somehow my fault, when she had written the measurements down wrong. I have never been treated so poorly by someone I was giving way too much money to. She also ripped the Bride s veil and denied it, she also did not tell the bride it was ripped until the bride asked to see it before leaving the shop. She had not said anything the entire time and let the bride pay for it and talk about it. She would have let the bride walk out with a ripped veil and then blame her for the rip later on. She charged the bride for things that were never received. She made the bride s mother pay for the plus size charge of the bridesmaid without talking to the bridesmaid (probably because the charge was never discussed and she made up the charge a month after telling her it was paid in full) She implied that she would not give the bride her dress if they did not pay for the bridesmaid s made up charge. She also convinced the bride we had to get the dresses that day or we would not be able to get them, even though it was almost a year before the wedding. It was absolutely a sales tactic, and it ended with us spending 3 times what we should have for dresses that didn t even fit, then having to pay even more for a seamstress to fix Karen s mistake. She body shamed one of the other bridesmaid. She loses all her paperwork and then makes up stuff when she can t remember what the agreement was. She made the bridesmaid experience so stressful for me and my fellow bridesmaids. I would never recommend this place to even my worst enemy.

Overall, she is just a liar and scammer. She did everything she could to lie and scam us for more money without delivering on anything she said she would.

If you care about yourself, your dignity, the clothes you wear, or the people you are bringing, DO NOT GO HERE. I do not understand how someone so rude to her customers and the people that work for her can still be in business. Humiliating someone giving you hundreds of dollars is not how to run a business. Her shop is crowded and unprofessional, sometimes with a kid running around. Standing around in a kitchen with dirty dishes is not how I imagined someone would want to choose a wedding dress. Especially if you live far, one bridesmaid had to drive 8+ hours total just to get her measurements and pick up her dress (3 times to get measured, once to pick up the dress. It was an hour away). If Karen knew how to take measurements, that would not have been a problem. I don t know how a seamstress is so incapable of taking measurements. I don t know how anyone, especially a person running a business that is based around clients happiness, could be so much of a bully. There was not one good thing about the entire experience. Myself and another bridesmaid ended up switching dresses because she had messed up the sizing so horribly! She then demanded more money for one of the dresses a month after we had paid in full (and gotten a receipt that said so) and had taken the dresses home. She did not even contact the owner of said dress, just demanded it from the person that was in the shop picking up the bride s dress.
HORRIBLE BUSINESS OWNER. DO NOT GO HERE.

If you buy a dress, don t ask questions and do whatever the owner wants, I m sure you ll think the place is great. If you find out she lied about the availability of a dress in order to force your hand in payment and then later very politely attempt to get your mandatory payment returned (based on the owner lying of Availability) you ll get hung up on. Would ve paid more than the minimum deposit in order to not work with that woman. Check your facts (or hers) before you order anything. She ll probably brag about being in business so long and maybe name drop but she truly is not a good person. Should have listened to previous negative reviews. A place that s been there so long and making money (even forcably) should probably have a better appearance and maybe an owner with a nicer disposition. Also unrelated but worth mentioning, someone quite literally caught themselves on fire due to her extremely hot lightbulbs (ruined their jacket and caused the old house to be filled with a burning smell) and she laughed about it and called them dumb (after they left of course) Your call if you deal with her. Don t say I didn t warn you.

I went to 2 other bridal shops before stopping here. I did not have an appointment, but Karen and her staff welcomed me in and were so helpful and friendly that I actually cancelled my appointment at another bridal shop. I had such a wonderful experience here!!
Yes, the store is a little difficult to find, but it's so worth it once you go in!

Awesome experience! Prom shopping with my daughter. She only knew what color she didn t want. The stylist helped her pick out dresses and she loved them. We left with her dress that day! The one that we purchased was one the stylist asked her to try on. We did not feel rushed and she tried on her last two picks twice. It was a group of five of her friends, four purchased dresses that day. They will not sell that same dress to anyone that attends the same school.

I found my dream dress here! It was special for me because this is the same dress shop my sister-in-law found her dress! I had gone to different dress shops before Glitz Bridal/ David s Bridal... I found pressure to buy a dress at those places or to be sold on a credit card. I had a overall great experience here !!

I was appalled at the previous post because it is so far from the truth! Karen and her staff make you feel so special while helping make your wedding ideas come to life. They take time to meet your needs with expertise without pushing an expensive product on you and the selection is great! I was overwhelmed by the amount of gorgeous dresses in my size (16 or 18) and they were a better deal than prices at bridal stores in the surrounding area. The store is very cute and tasteful, but most importantly, Karen knows her stuff!!! She designed dresses for Ms. America. Wow. Who wouldn't want a professional designer taking care of your bridal gown? Another plus is that they are one of the only carriers of Mori Lee (my favorite ) in Nashville and I can see why. The knowledge and creativity this team has is the only one I have seen that deserves to carry such a fabulous brand! I will definitely be finding a formal event to attend soon because their other dresses are gorgeous too. Probably after wedding stuff has calmed down. :)
They hit it out if the park on service. Karen is remarkable, very kind and has been in the business for thirty something years. Ladies, this store is the stuff dreams are made out of!

Great selection and pricing. Just bought the dress for my wedding!

My sister came in town from Salt Lake City to find a dress here in Nashville, since she is getting married here and all of her family is here. We had 4 spots at different shops. Glitz provided the full Happy bridal experience then we came here and the owner was annoyed we were there it seemed. We found a dress but still had two other appointments the next day so we went to our other appts but my sister fell in love with a dress on the rack at Petals and Lace that is discontinued. The owner Karen had the worse attitude did not help us at all with pulling dresses and helping try them on and seemed annoyed with any questions we asked about the dress and repairs to it. She told us she looked over the dress all morning but when we arrived it was missing 4 button covers still. When we asked her about it she gave us a total attitude! She was the worse I hate that we had to buy a dress from her but my sister fell in love with it and it was the only dress like it on the 2 racks of dresses they had. I would not recommend anyone shopping there. This is suppose to be a great experience for the bride and her mom and sisters, but was totally an awful experience. David's Bridal staff was better than she was! I would recommend Glitz in Bellevue if you want a great experience and a designer dress!

If I could give zero stars, I would. This store is a very unpleasant place to be. From the moment you walk in the entire store screams outdated and it smells of urine. The dresses are outdated, tacky, and just plain boring; very little selection for anyone over a size 6. Also, nothing has an order. Rather than it being arranged by size or designer, it is arranged by color which just makes the store look worse. The owner is extremely rude. She is not interested in a customer until she knows that they have money, so if you are on a budget, she does not care about your business. She is also extremely pushy and if you try on one dress she will push it on you until you feel obligated to buy it. She does not care if the customer is pleased, she just cares about getting a sale. She acts like she is the best in the dress industry of Nashville, yet she is selling out of a two story house that no one can find from the road. She is also extremely racist, because when I was in there I heard her refer to African Americans as "blacks" and that the only ones that are worth her time are the ones with money.
So at the end of the day I hope no one considers going to this store. She is a rude, nasty old woman that has very little good in her heart. She doesn't deserve your money. I know I would rather die than go back in that store and deal with her again.

I absolutely loved this place! I came across it while driving and even though I didnt have an appointment they were so helpful, kind and most of all patient because I was a nervous wreck. The woman was not pushy if I didn't like something and pulled out dresses that resembled what I described that I wanted and showed me what it would look like if I wanted a couple things altered on it. In the end I found the perfect dress and they worked with me to put it in my budget range which we all know is key when your planning a wedding because they are so expensive. I would recommend this place to anyone and I'm so happy they at least took one stresser off me through this whole ordeal.

They will absolutely make sure that you are happy with your dress here. Karen is no nonsense and to the point and will never waste your time. She's worked with a lot of big names in the entertainment industry and knows what she's doing and I appreciated her so very much for everything she did to help me! The young woman, McKenna, was incredible and took all the time I needed to help make sure that I had the right dress for me! She talked about how much she loved her job and working there and I could tell because of how much she enjoyed helping me. If you cannot find a dress here, you won't find a dress anywhere! I found the dress of my dreams and it didn't cost me an arm and a leg. She has something available for just about every budget. Now, anytime I speak with someone who is getting married, I tell them about this place.

This boutique has a great selection of beautiful dresses. The very young girls who work here are very sweet, BUT the owner Karen not so much. My daughter found a dress she thought was the one. We hesitated to commit because we had one more dress appointment we wanted to attend. The appointment was two weeks out, so as we always do we asked about the status of this dress regarding manufacturing/ shipping times. Karen then told our helper that despite this being a 2019 Morilee dress they had run out of the lace and would not be able to make more. So we put down the min deposit. We went to our next appointment where in conversation found out there is NOTHING to indicate any such issue with getting this dress! Someone is a LIAR! We found a dress my daughter loves at that appointment, so happy ending. I would have forfeited the deposit and ordered from the other shop even if it was the same dress after getting that info! While again they have ALOT of dresses, the boutique is dirty and in disrepair and clearly the owner is not exactly a trust worthy person.

Best bridal shop in Nashville! Amazing gowns, wonderful personal and private selection experience. I could not be happier. If you can't find it here, I am not sure where to go next. This has been the best part of my wedding planning.

We had the best experience at Petals and Lace! It was the only salon we went to that truly made it comfortable and personal. I would recommend to anyone!

I never imagined such a bad experience when planning such a exciting event. I told Karen my budget was 900$. She almost immediately lost interest in helping me and being kind. A dress was pulled 700$ over my budget and I wasn't made aware until my mother was signing the paperwork because of coarse, I fell in love. I was really torn and a month later called to tell Karen, the owner, I didn't want to proceed 700$ over my budget. To keep this as short as possible, I lost a 500$ deposit and cannot get in touch with anyone there. I hope no bride ever goes here and is made to feel the way I ended up feeling. so sad, it used to be a wonderful place to shop.

I had the most wonderful experience here. After. Going to countless shops to find a wedding dress, and feeling in the way and pushed towards dresses I was not interested in, we stumbled upon petals and lace. Karen was AMAZING! I am a slightly bigger girl, so I knew going into this task it would be hard to find dresses in my size to try on ad most places didn't have above a size 10 in Stock. Not only did they have over 600 dresses in house by plenty in sizes well over what I needed. We didn't have an appointment as we found it just driving by but we're still helped promptly and treated like we were royalty. Let me tell you, Karen knows her stuff! I wasn't sure what I wanted exactly, but Karen listened to the few things I was looking for in a dress and kept that in mind as well as using her obvious knowledge to pick me out dresses that Complimented my figure and fit perfectly. She kept bringing me dresses that I never would have picked off the rack and every time supposed me that she knew what looked good on me better than I did! I ended up finding the perfect dress that I never would've even tried on had she not helped. The whole process was so amazing, I couldn't believe finding a wedding dress could be so easy and affordable. I was so happy with the service and price that I ended up ordering my bridesmaids dresses through her also. This was also a great experience, her assistant was great in helping us find the perfect bridesmaids dresses while Karen was nearby if we had any questions while looking through the books and even offered to videochat with a bridesmaid of mine that lived out if state to make sure everything fit and was perfect. I would recommend anyone and anyone to go to petals and lace and talk to Karen, and i promise you will not be disappointed!

I happened upon Petals and Lace on a trip I took to Nashville in search of a wedding dress. I had a very particular image in my head of what I wanted, and in fact, I had been in search of a vintage dress. I kept finding it harder and harder to get anything in my price range and style ideal. Finally, we went into Petals and Lace. While I can see where the owner may come off as rude(as these other review suggest), she is actually EXTREMELY knowledgeable, GOOD AT HER JOB and is actually a sweetheart.

I arrived at her store tired, down on my luck, and frustrated. Through her skilled questioning about what I did or didn't like about particular dresses, she was able to guide me to a dress from a magazine. Call me crazy, I ordered it: AND I LOVE IT.

She was so skilled at listening to what it was I was looking for in my wedding dress, she was able to order this dress for me and alter it to what it was I was looking for! The dress I got ended up being prettier than the one I couldn't afford.

I guess I haven't even mentioned yet that I live on the other side of the country. I was in her shop on my visit to Nashville, and she took my measurements and all of the necessaries. She then did all of the modifications without me being local- based on what we had discussed.

She literally worked a miracle. I am so lucky I found her. She is an incredible seamstress to say the very least.

The process of picking the dress and ordering was great. However, when I went to pick up the dress (which arrived late) and I was publicly shamed in the middle of the store for being too big for the dress. The dress zipped and fit just fine, but the owner Karen made me stand in the middle of the store in front of several customers to take my measurements and make comments like How did that happen? And Well you re going to bust out of the zipper . She then told me I had 3 weeks to fix it aka losing weight, and then took the chance to offer her services to do some serious alterations . It was extremely unprofessional and embarrassing. Hey Karen, the dress fit and I had a great night dancing away. I wish I could give this store 0 stars for their complete lack of empathy for women. Shame on you.

Have ordered a bridesmaid dress as well as my wedding dress from Petals and Lace. Both experiences were great! Karen and her staff are so helpful and attentive. They have a large selection of dresses for every event and their alterations are quick and affordable. Highly recommend!
