The food at the lodge was reasonably priced for a resort, and rather tasty. Conditions on the slopes were not super, but that was mother nature fault. The staff did their best to keep guests happy.

A very cramped "suite" without a window in the bedroom. Clean but long corridors.

Restaurant is a 20 minute walk from the lobby. Pool has no rest rooms and changing only in basement below.

Basic shelter only.

Wisp resort is not only in a stellar location looking down onto Deep Creek Lake. It also has stellar service and summer activities. While there everyone I had to talk to was extremely nice and professional.

We spent two nights at Wisp Resort, hoping that it would become our go-to place for skiing.

Maybe this place is better for seasoned skiers, but for beginners, Wisp is awful. Our instructor was short-tempered and incompetent - after taking us to the top of the hill, he actually pushed our daughter, who fortunately managed to stop after a few feet. If she had lost control, I dread to think what would have happened. At least they refunded the cost of our lesson.

The food was generally awful, although some items on the overpriced DC Bar menu were good (I especially enjoyed the spicy chicken sandwich), but the salads were uninspired and when we ordered Eggs Benedict for breakfast, the eggs were so undercooked that the egg whites were clear and extremely runny. It seemed that the waitress did not know that the egg whites should be cooked all the way through, and there should not be any clear liquid coming out when you cut into them!

The hotel staff were hit or miss too - some were taciturn, while some were friendly.

Since we never got a proper ski lesson, and never actually got to do any skiing, the fact that we lost weight on this vacation says a lot about the quality of the food. While I appreciate the fact that we didn't gain weight, we did not go there with the intention of dieting.

Bottom line - we won't be coming back.

It was very expensive. The room design is ill planned. Some electrical outlets don't work. No hand soap was provided. No do not disturb signs or pen and paper provided. No meals are provided, free or otherwise. The internet is extremely poor, and devices like Chromecast will not work. The staff and pool are really nice though. Would not recommend staying here.

Out dated , not kepted up with as well I would think it should be. Parking lot is a rough mess. First time snowboarder and purchased the lesson and rental package. Lesson was group lesson and you have to wait of top of hour. Rental staff didn't speak English. Which language barrier was awful. I watched the guy read chart multiple times just trying to figure out what size I needed. So knowing clearly the staff don't understand that's scary and didn't make me feel comfortable. Group lesson the instructor was yelling the whole time at us, which doesn't help anyone. It was my first time, I didn't need yelling and overcrowded mountain and unsafe and uncomfortable environment. I WASTED MY MONEY! staff need to speak English the lift staff didn't even speak English that unsafe I tried asking them something. Just looked at me . I will never return back here and waste my time and money. I will travel to whitetail or even ski liberty. Hopefully there experiences are much better and staff and great

Best ski resort in Maryland! I live over 3 hours away and enjoy taking the trip to hit the slopes of Wisp Mountain in the winter. The zip line and mountain coaster are fun to do in the summer.

We stayed for a last minute, long weekend in the off-season, and were pleasantly surprised with the hospitality of the staff in off peak months.

There were two weddings on-site in the yurts when we stayed, but other than that, we enjoyed lots of time uninterrupted in the lobby, pool and hot tubs, and the fire pits outdoors.

The staff at the front desk was very helpful with local recommendations for eating and entertainment. The lodge itself is acually quaint and cozy, and off of the main roadway where the restaurants and plazas are located.

The only thing I wish were better during our stay was the breakfast each morning; light in selections, and more removed from the lodging than I would have hoped for, but otherwise okay.

Stayed here for the weekend for a wedding. They have shuttles that come in certain hours to take you to the wedding. Many attractions and fun things to do here at the resort, you can do archery, escape room, water rafting, mountain biking, mini golfing and much more. We did archery and escape room which was fun. They do have a fitness center and a pool at the lodge as well, but we didn't get a chance to check it out. Staff was very friendly and made us feel welcomed. The only problem was the room we stayed at in the lodge. There were dead flies on the ceiling, windows and a lot of them kept flying around in our room.

We participated in the escape room at wisp. The idea was fun and there was a lot to figure out. However, a page was missing which was vital to solving the puzzle. We figured this oyt and were told to skip it. The guy running the escape room was not particularly helpful and when he typed out clues there were many misspellings, which led to a lot of confusion.

Good slopes for beginners and ski school; lot of families with young kids. Kind of a steep lift ticket price for such few lifts/trails, but I like that it's easy to get to (all highway driving), has a lot of gentle slopes for the wife, and the blues/blacks tend to be pretty empty. good number of ski-in/ski-out rentals available all throughout the resort as well. food here is not terrible but about what you would expect.

We didnt stay in a room, however, a wedding was hosted there and it was very nice. Got to ride the ski lift up to the ceremony, and then the grounds of the resort were nice, plenty of things to do around even though it was off season for skiing.

Little dated great view in the lodge went boarding in the rain giving an extra star for still keeping the place running during the rain storm when alot of places with lack of snow would have called it quit. Great staff as well.

We really liked our stay at the resort. Lots to do with the swimming, coaster, and whitewater rafting. The new renovations are great, really make the lobby look great. Good distance from Pittsburgh

The hotel rooms need updating. The floor of the exterior wall was soaked with what I assume was water, the toilet had a leak and the smoke detector was disconnected. There was a laminated flier for a continental breakfast in the room but we were told that it is not being provided. I know you are paying for convenience of being on the slopes but do expect things to work properly.

This is an awesome place to go for either summer or winter fun.

I have been skiing here many times over my life (but not recently in the past decade). However, I did recently take my family there to ride the mountain coaster and to ride the ski lift to the top.

The views from the lift are awesome in the summertime, and we saw black bears roaming the ski slope.

We did not have the time to do the other summer activities that they had (such as the zip line course, segways, or hiking), but it is definitely worth a stop in the summer or the winter.

Stopped at the resort to ride the mountain coaster with a group. I was hoping to also snow tube, but sadly the slopes were closed for the season early due to the warm weather this year. Fun place though!

Went skiing for the day. Amenities were nice. Was a bit disappointed in the lack of runs that were open but I understand weather plays a factor in that. Overall, family had a good time and we will be coming back for more.

The people that come here are snooty people. The slopes are great but the employees are clueless. I saw one guy fall off the chair lift and the chair ran him over and the employee didn't stop the lift until after he was already run over.

The main attraction for me is skiing. Wish is close -- 20 miles -- and inexpensive for me -- basically, free since I'm 70+. The skiing is fair what with the limited elevation drop, the weather the last two years, and the poorer snowmaking by the new management. Hard to beat the price and convenience, though.

Short story long,

Short story long,

We got to the hotel and i noticed the ski lifts weren't running. I asked the lady at check in if they'd be turning them on later and she just gave me a dumbfounded look; like i was an idiot.

So we check in, and go to our rooms, but on the way, i notice the place is pretty empty. So i say to my wife, i says, its pretty empty. Anyway, i struggled pretty hard what with my skis, my wife's skis, and my two kids skis (basically nine skis in all) because they kept poking everything on the way up to the room. The elevators dont like to wait for you very long because the door closed whilst i was only just inside and as it went up to our room, well it snapped half of our skis that were still sticking out. Just the back halves though so twasn't as bad as it could have been, still had the fronts to ski with.

Finally get to the room and the wife says, "there's not snow on the hills hun" (she can see the hills out the window, also she calls me hun, which is short for honey. She only calls me hun when she's in a hurry and its important for me to listen so i knew t'was a thing i needed to deal with).

So i run all the way to the phone in the room and called the front desk. I says, theres no snow on the hills and when are you putting snow on them? I told them the brochure had snow, and we paid a lot of money for the stay, and all the lady at the front desk said was it was July. I think she gave me another dumb look on the phone too. I could feel it.

We went to eat at the restaraunt and had to walk through a band playing puff the magic dragon for a bunch of old people or a cult or something (its ok, i covered my kids ears so them wouldn't be charmed). Restaraunt was closed, which i understand it being Sunday ( as Jesus said, "dont feed your children after 3pm on the lords day").

Anyway, we went to wash our clothes in the indoor pond and went to bed.

Won't stay here again.

I've taken groups skiing at Wisp for years and now I just recently got an email from they saying: "All facilities at Wisp Resort offer food and beverage. We do not allow food or drinks to be brought in to the resort facilities. Brown bagging is not permitted in any designated dining area or food outlet at Wisp Resort." I've never been to a ski resort where you can't bring your food in to the main lodge!! Change your policy Wisp.
