Wisp Resort Review

Great place to ski in the mid Atlantic area. Lots of different terrain and the right number of lifts.

WISP has nice affordable friday night skiing session, fron 5pm to 9pm. Close parking to the slopes.

I had sooooo much fun I agree that the hills were icy. One of my lessons (I'm a kid) they mixed me a black skier and a biginner together in one class and we only skied one hill the whole time! Other than that it was awesome. We are going again soon I can't wait . Eeeeeee so much fun

Amazing so much to is great for your familyso many different activities places to eat comfortable beds overall it was a great experience. Me and my family would definitely be visiting here again

Just played Fantasy Valley golf course. There is a huge tree in the middle of the first fairway 150 yds from the blue tees. Unless your tee shot has an apex of 80 feet plus at that point, you are screwed. Many holes so narrow there is no room to work the ball. Canada goose problems on a few holes. Very wet when I played so cart path only. Some very interesting greens, one with a valley in it. Greens were in good shape as were the fairways just very wet in spots.

Rooms are nice, but need updating. If you are spending most of your time outside, it doesn't matter. Food is ok.

We had a really great experience here. I would rate it a 4.5 if I could. The facilities were better than acceptable, just starting to show a little wear. The pet fee was unheard of, we paid $50 for a pet room - the best I've ever encountered at any hotel. The pool and hot tub were great after a day of skiing. The resort had everything you need for hear, and the staff was helpful in getting my kids set up to go out. The food quality was the only negative we experienced. It just doesn't taste all that good, and it's resort prices. The hamburgers and ham and cheese sandwich just were ok.
So, overall, we had a great experience and will definitely go back.

A fun place for the kids and adults in the winter. I love to go sledding, I'm too chicken to try skiing. Great food too!

Friendly staff and decent slopes. We lucked out this year with fresh natural snow.

Went skiing there the week after after Christmas. It was a little pricy for the lift tickets but had a great time.

It's Mid Atlantic skiing at its best. Honestly you have got to travel far too get better. Tried all of them around, and this one has the best value. Staff is super friendly, happy to be there. The only negative is the lodge is starting to show it's age.

Went with son on school ski trip. Love the setup they have for beginners. Had a great time!

I just went to ski but the slopes were very nice. The lodge itself was pretty disorganized as far as renting equipment but as a whole it was nice

Really fun mountain for east coast skiing. Lots of options and space so doesn't feel to crowded.

We took a group adult beginner ski lesson with Jim. There were 4 of us in the class and he was really great accommodating the different skill levels. It was a great time! The mountain coaster and tubing were also a blast! Looking forward to returning next year.

The hotel needs renovation. We enjoyed our time here because of the people we were with. The food was excellent and served hot for our group of 100.

My best friend was getting married here. The day before the event they announced they had double booked and cut his room in half to do set up for a symphony coming in the next day. His wedding planners were great and did everything they could to adjust, but for management to double book like that on short notice is inexcusable.

Furthermore, in the hotel rooms pieces of trim were literally falling off the wall and half the lights didn't work. Vending and ice machines were out of order on every other floor. Total lack of attention to detail on small very fixable problems.

Decent place to ski, a little something for everyone

Great day at Wisp! We visited on a Tuesday and though the day started with the ticket booth being closed and having to hike across parking lots to the rental center, we had a blast. The staff was incredibly friendly, especially the lift operators. Nice long green runs.

Stayed for a convention. Considering the amount of people, I felt the bar should have stayed open longer, especially the first night. Nice room and facilities.

Had many fun times here. Going with family is best!

Rooms had a musty odor. By 3PM our room wasn't cleaned. Nice views and many activities

Only viable ski resort in MD. Golfing is great too.

Very well staffed resort. Plenty of trails to keep you busy. A very cool rollercoaster, and multiple after hours entertainment for adults and kids alike. The restaurant has a great menu and very reasonable prices.

Gravel parking lot, elevators were out. Went to leave with the wedding party and they were mopping the stairs.... did they stop to let us pass? No. How rude. Beautiful area though.

Great little farmers/craft market and we really enjoyed the free concert.

Had a day off from work so a few of us went skiing! It was a very nice place, probably not a great place for me to learn how to skii! The main things that got me was how expensive it was $130. Which might be a normal price out here I'm not sure. Otherwise the other problem I had was how crazy busy it was for a Tuesday, which is not the resorts fault for being popular!

Nice place .check the weather before you go.you may need a 4wd if it snows.It worth going to the burger king on the way out

Went there for brews and tunes beer festival, nice buildings, great summer and winter recreation. The skiing is nice and the summer activities are generally worth the cost.

Good place to visit for activities. The mountain coaster is amazing!!! And I hate roller coasters at amusement parks but I love this one!!!

The mountain coaster. was great. We also enjoyed the spider monkey challenge.

Wisp is one of the best skiling resort in Maryland. There's lots of other activities at WISP. There are amazing natural downhill mountain biking trails at WISP. There are lots of single track trails and most of them are natural. Lift tickets are affordable. Service is super nice. I had an amazing time at wisp downhill MTB.

Excellent fun experience on the hill for family or solo visit. Lot of activities including zip lining and mountain biking for beginners, coaster, chair lift on cable with nice views and Segway.

Fun ski place. A lot of good trails to ski and wasn't too crowded. Rental gear was of good quality and the overall grounds were well taken care of. Ski group intro class was a bit basic but overall decent, probably want to take a more advanced class if you plan to start doing any trails that aren't bunny slopes. Food was very generic and a bit on the pricy side. Overall a good experience.

Went to the Subaru skiing weekend and had a great time!

Wisp resort needs better weather, but the Lord will be the only decision maker there.

Greatbllace to stay and ski. Prices are high yes but you get what you pay for. Slopes are awesome and well taken care of and the staff and service are 5 star. Food was very good

Great place to warm up after being on the slopes, nice to hang out in! Good food, beer, what's not to like?

Went there to ski and to get some lessons for my kids (ages 9 & 5). Fitting for rental skis for my kids went great, and the lessons they got were also great. Ask for Justin as an instructor, he took his time teaching my kids the basics and they had a blast!

Room was nice. A king suite. Continental breakfast left a lot to be desired. I asked for butter for the waffle and was told they had no butter! It was Thanksgiving and the resort was basically deserted, so it was pretty quiet. We had a newer room, but the older rooms were pretty dark and not inviting.

Had a few things out or order like the 2hd firepit and the pool and any dining but overall a good stay.

The main thing is there is construction all around the resort. The pool was not in service. Room 117 the door is hard to open it sticks and there is a leak above the shower. There is no info in the room about what is going on. We happen to see the fire pit In the way back. We found it by chance. It is close to many attractions. It is not on the lake. THE STAFF HAS BEEN VERY SWEET. next time we will stay some where different

Could be more people there..but depending on the weather and lots of snow...alot to do if not snowing...

Plenty of courses to choose from for all difficulty levels, also they have the best snow tubing.

I had a good time and the place is fine for Southeast skiing. The conditions aren't great but a lot of that is due to the weather which is out of their hands. Probably a good place to go right after a snowstorm, otherwise you'll be on ice or slush.

My wife and I are teachers and we got a snow day Monday so we decided to go skiing. Very nice and helpful employees, easy system to rent and return equipment and easily worth every penny.

Awesome as usual except that it was 46 and raining 4ye first week of January 2020... almost no snow.

I was there for a benefit dinner. The food was delicious and the staff was fabulous.

Mountain park was very dirty. Employees are rude. Managers are rude to customers and there employees. Ropes courses are not state certified the one board was broken and I fell off the kids one is two low to the ground on the second zipline and the coaster employees are rude and have very little experience.

Great room. The Restaurant has great food and great service! There is a lot to do.

Home to one of the only Mountain Coasters in the region. Lots of activities for all year round.

The wisp resort us very nice. Some areas are a little outdated, but the are in the middle of renovations, so that will change. Our room was clean and the bed comfortable. The bathrooms are a little on the small side, but clean, so it was ok. The pool is great!

We wenter to wisp for skiing. It is early in the season, so the conditions were not ideal, but the slope grooming left a lot to be desired.

Outstanding winter resort; great slopes and accommodations for some winter fun.
