Staying for the slopes, well groomed for how the weather has been this season. All around good time so far
Parking was good, easy access to mountain. Friendly staff.
Went skiing. Had a lot of fun, just pricey and a lot of people.
We absolutely love the Wisp! There are so many activities to check out no matter what season. In the winter we love to Ski and in the summer we love hiking the mountain. It s also very kid friendly with their mountain playground.
We had so much fun here,,,we went snowtrubbing and on the roller coaster ride that goes up and around the mountain,,the kids love doing something new
Skiing was great. But they got an unheard of amount of snow. Actually opened late one day.
Loved it. Nice runs, and great staff. We lucked out on enjoying 4inches of fresh powder.
Lots of runs to choose from and would honestly probably be a really good place to learn how to ski/snowboard since there are several long, easy trails.
But the place doesn't seem to be very well run. I paid for an all day lift pass and rentals. Got there around 10:30. Waited in the rental line for at least an hour and they were out of poles and children's skis. When I finally tracked some poles down, one of the straps was broken. Not a huge deal, but certainly an inconvenience.
Although we didnt stay at the resort we spent a large part of our vacation there. The activities for the children were perfect for our 3 day trip. They rode the coaster 3xs!, did some archery, ziplining and we all rode on the chair lift. They have a cute little souvenir shop and cafe area for quick eats. I was really happy that everything was so close together. The wisp was 15 mins away from our accomodations.
Deep Creek beach was about 10 mins away from Wisp. There is mini golf an arcade and go karts right around the corner from the resort too. Everything is very centrally located and everyone was very pleasant and helpful to everyone regardless of race from what I saw. (That matters to me)
I am very happy that we chose Deep Creek for our mini vacation this year- we will be back
I love the resort. Nice trails and not too much crowded.
We went skiing for the day. Monday rates were very reasonable. Slopes were in good condition with fresh powder. The lodge was clean, and staff was friendly.
Mountain coaster and ropes course is fabulous. It is a must if you are in the Deep Creek area.
We went tubing this weekend at Wisp and had a nice time. I am giving two stars because of the horrible parking conditions. Going to a nice ski resort, I did not expect the parking lot to be an absolute mud pit. Do not go on the weekend unless you want to spend the next full day washing mud off your car, boots, and clothing.
The food is alright, service is good, but you can't beat the location and all the wisp adventures right outside your door!
Great time. Wife sucks at snowboarding but I don't blame the mountain for that. :)
Rented a house for the weekend. Great relaxing getaway.
Fun slopes. Packed on a typical Saturday, but dies down immediately around dusk. Black diamonds were a bit icy, but who stops while going down black diamonds anyways?
I stayed at the Wisp for a scrapbooking retreat. We had a queen deluxe suite which slept 6. I felt the room was a little cramped but very nice for the price split 6 ways. I thought the food was a,little pricey, but I expected that being that it is a resort.
Can't wait to go back, my knees don't miss the snowboard though
If you want to learn and on a budget, come here every monday for a pretty good deal! Lots of slopes to practice on
Wisp has horrendous customer service. We were appalled at the lack of knowledge of the workers and their inability to direct skiers to where to buy tickets and rent. Wisp used to be so much better years ago but has taken a turn for the absolute worst. Prices are misleading on website and outrageously high. Workers made up what days were consider peak days and we were utterly speechless at the poor quality of every service they pretended to offer. I would adamantly recommend skiing literally anywhere else, in fact just build your own ski lift because it would be better. Manager is worst of all, don t ask for her.
I rode almost all the trails trails at the bike park. Great trails, a lot of fast technical sections. I ended up crashing and breaking my shifter so I had to cut my day a little short but I will definitely be back
The resort had a very low amount of trails open to ski on. This resort also needs new lifts.
Great stay at Wisp! Hotel rooms recently renovated but I already see rust in bathrooms. Staff was friendly and quickly upgraded our room when the A/C went out in the first room. Great place to stay for our first trip to the lake
Great evening get together sponsored by M&T Bank at the Wisp. Renew friendships and meet new friends..
What's the point of signing a waiver if they're just going to close down the snow tubing/coaster due to icy conditions. Then they refuse to offer refunds and instead give us a gift certificate for the amount we spent. No apologies nor attempts at fixing their mistake, just a waste of two hours. Definitely won't be coming back here.
No housekeeping service (consisting of only changing out the towels) until 6:30pm at night is unacceptable. Facility is dated and amenities are sub-par for the price.
Prices weren't as high as some places I've been to closer to DC. The area is decent with plenty to do for a longer stay. There are plenty of slopes to explore, general east coast fare. Lots of flat areas, which can be trouble for snowboarders. The lines at the lifts were busy for some of them, but again not as bad as places closer to DC. Snow was also a lot better than what you get closer to DC. It was pretty good for a two day trip, and I'll probably return in a future season.
10 stars if I could brick ceilings, lights were basically a code to turn on and a fold out bed it s real bad but real fun to see if you ll get bed bugs 5 stars
Played my first 9 holes of Disc Golf yesterday and had a great time with some friends. The course was a bit tricky to navigate even with the map but I think some tees were missing and the grass was a bit high. I haven't skied or tubed up her or the whitewater but it sure looks fun.
Nice environment, delicious food. Drink menu was a bit limited and it was freezing inside for being June.
Worst customer service and management
Terrible plumbing
Bugs in room
Wifi doesn t work
Overpriced activities
Nothing to do in the resort itself
Under construction so place was dirty
Pool was overloaded with chlorine
Nice place with lots of activities. They have an article white water rafting area which looks decent and a lot safer than the real thing. Good for first timers.
Plus few other activities. Archery, two escape rooms, a coaster, etc.
From the Pittsburgh area we have several options within a two hour drive, Wisp is by far the best value. The resort amenities may be a bit more limited but there are many options around Deep Creek Lake that more than make up for it. The hotel is nice, but a bit dated. They said, there seem to be renovations ongoing. Wisp is definitely our go-to place for a skiing day trip.
We actually golfer at the wisp course and it was a great experience. Friendly people, very attentive staff, and the course was nice and fairly well kept also. Would definitely play here again.
Incredible meeting space, coupled with great views and exceptional service.
Great ski resort with long, even trails. Very accessible from I-68.
Had a great time the Resort was clean staff was friendly
Its always 5 stars here at Wisp, only place ill stay in deep creek
Good beginners ski resort. Plenty of good rooms nearby. The slopes are good for teaching and warming up for a long season.
Overall nice experience. A little overpriced for 'premium' days (aka Saturdays). The bar and cafeteria were also a little sparse. Other than that everything was nice.
Not the best on 4th of July. No coffee in lobby, only cereal for breakfast. Romm AC was broken, doors not working and grounds had all kinds of weeks.
Skiing was very fun, cool lodge and good ice cream!
Had a very good time skiing, they very good intructers who help you learn to Ski even if you have never tried skiing before.
Great experience! Didn t stay at the resort but we went skiing. For it being the first time I am amazed. Although beware if you are a beginner, some of the beginner hills are NOT for beginners; they are way more intense than they should be. Overall I had an amazing time, the staff was very friendly and the rental wasn t too expensive. I will certainly be going back.
Nice rooms, comfortable bed. Clean. Friendly staff. Onsite restaurant could use a few more menu choices.
Had one of the best experiences with friends at the wisp resort! Snow tubbing was amazing! Will definitely come back.
Kind of an old fashion place no room service and the entire place looks like it was decorated 1960s
Not a bad place all in all. Great slopes and the staff is really friendly and helpful. 4 of us rented gear, and yeah I know its rental gear but all of the boots leaked quite a bit. Food and especially drinks are way too high though. Would really be nice if they would not close the pool and hot tub area. After a long day, extra time soaking would be great. 10 pm for the hot tub (and the bars too) is way too early!!!!
Felt like I was back out in the wild west. That's what Wisp feels like, you're dangling off high mountains jumping off into the Continental Divide. Grooming excellent, trails really good for east coast skiing, and staff helpful & polite. I hope they make it through global warming!
Great service. Awesome place for the adventurous single, couple, family, or group.
The house was good, all of the steps not so good. For a handicapped individual the sofa's were too low and difficult to get out of. Everything else was great.
Stayed overnight for a wedding in the area. Friendly, helpful staff. Nice, clean room. The indoor pool was huge and heated which made up for the tiny hot tub. Great experience.
Company Christmas party. Would have been nice for the resort to be open. Very nice either way.
There was a very unpleasant smell in the room.
We told the front desk about it and the only solution offered was to add scented spray- more chemicals. We lost one paid night and preferred to drive back home.
Was a great location and many activities to do with your family.
Wisp really works with the vertical they were given. Tons of trails on every face. No true expert terrain but lots of trails at every level. Worth a look if you're in the area.
The resort has beautiful scenary! I don't golf much but they take good care of their golf course as well.
Love WISP resort during winter or summer days makes your trip lots of fun with family and friends
Generally good experience, though it is always expensive the staff is nice and the activities are fun
Not a fair judgement because it was under construction, but still felt dated.
Nothing here, you have to leave the resort for decent food
I went tubing at Wisp Resort for two hours. The setup was fantastic, and allowed for a good amount of tubing in my timeslot. I also went on the mountain coaster, which was very exciting, despite the snow that was hitting me in the face. I recommend waiting until it isn't snowing for both of those activities.
Didn't stay the night but was a little fun at the resort, had a decent number roped off but still loads of fun, plenty of fun for the day
Over all not a bad place but definitely a bit expensive (so don't need to buy any items from the shop) many many trails but even for being mid December there is 4 trails open and they are all about an inch if not more of ice not much for powder. When it went to night half the run had no lights working and visibility was minimal at best. Not being critical just things we experienced while here. Would come back will definitely be waiting till later in the season with more trails open
Wisp is slowly being updated and the results are beginning to show. The rooms have nice amenities, like a wet bar, microwave, refrigerator, and a nice flat screen. The bed was so comfy! We had a little trouble with the iron in our room, but they promptly brought us a new one that worked. We definitely enjoyed the views of the slopes from our room. In the off-season, Wisp isn't very busy, but it is definitely hopping when the snow falls.
The slopes were in pretty good shape. The lodge was pretty disappointing though.
Good skiing, well maintained facility. Nice clean rooms
Coming in the summer there is quite a few activities to do, I went on the mountain coaster a few times as well as the chair lift to the top of the mountain. There is also some mountain bike trails which looked like fun but I didnt have time to ride them.
