Went to the summer adventure area. Disc golf was fun (stick to front 9, back 9 is more expensive and much more difficult with narrow thorn-lined fairways) and the coaster was great if not a bit overpriced. Lots of other things to do and we'll surely he back to try some other activities.

We did the aerial adventures, and the staff was incredible. Fun, friendly and helpful. The sole complaint is that, despite requests to stop bouncing guests on rope bridges, some of the guides persisted.

Wisp definitely exceeded my expectations as a relaxing and easily managed ski trip weekend for some of scout group s families. I was worried that the resort would be run-down and feel dead considering the lack of snow this winter in our region, but the resort does a great job (likely with very limited resources) of making the spaces inviting and keeping the vibe energetic.

The queen deluxe rooms were quite spacious and reasonably comfortable - my 5yo slept in a sleeping bag on the couch, making it comfortable for the five of us. People were pretty friendly and the skiing amenities are literally right outside your door. It was small enough that we would periodically find other members of our group and the teenagers were mostly independent.

We lucked out with beautiful, sunny, high pressure, cold weather - there were 5-10 min maximum lines at the main lifts and in the huts. Everyone seemed to have a great time on the newly made snow. Those of us who aren t as keen on skiing really enjoyed a beautiful hike 15 minutes away followed by a good lunch at a nearby restaurant. If you can ignore the kernels of panic that arise as you observes the rapid rate acceleration of global warming/climate, then more power to you!

We came here in late spring. It was fun. Most of the staff are very friendly. We stayed in a queen suite which was kind of small. There's plenty to do...the activities aren't cheap. Overall a good experience but it's not perfect.

The resort bills itself as family-friendly but there are no activities for children under four. The snow playground is a plastic backyard playset that s iced over, they stopped offering daycare years ago but make no effort to correct or counter the google results, and the swimming pool doesn t have kid friendly areas or depths. There s literally nothing to do if you re there with very small children and it was a huge disappointment.

I called (twice) and spoke with the resort, as well as emailed the director of kids programs, and no one mentioned private lessons for two year olds as a possibility. To see your resort respond with that as an option when it is not listed on your website nor mentioned in repeated conversations is infuriating.

A google search of Wisp Resort Childcare will bring you relevant results.

I went to wisp to snowboard. I have held a season pass there for the last 4 years and it has only gotten better every year. It's really a great place to go any time of year, but especially in the winter.

Though the weather on the Friday of Presidents Day was horrible, the staff at Wisp was fantastic. We are new to snowboarding and Steve was more than willing to make sure we were able to survive on the slopes. With the accommodating staff we had that weekend, we will definitely be back.

First time to this resort and I left with the feeling of "I'll definitely be back for more".

My girlfriend had to rent skis and such and the process was quick and easy.

Didn't get to explore the lodge as we wanted as much time on the mountain as possible.

Parking was easy and the staff here are friendly and helpful.

Next time we come back we're making it a weekend adventure.

Oktoberfest at the Wisp Ski Resort in McHenry, MD. A great weather day to have Octoberfest outside. The beer was cold and flowing nicely. Something for everyone. Arts & crafts. Super day at the Wisp!

Mediocre experience. I booked a room for a get-away with my kids, primarily because this place boasted a pool. It turned out that the pool has been closed for weeks. Of course, there was no warning of this. Other than that, the place is very drab and old. Both elevators strongly smell of urine. Cleaning folks come to bang on the door at 8:30 am. Noisy in the evenings, too. Reasonable gym though. We also liked the outdoor fire pit.

My girlfriend, an experienced skier, brought me here for a day-trip and a lesson. Really good spot, even as someone who is new to skiing. Had a great lesson with a really cool instructor named Lynn!

Waited in line for 20 minutes to get a tubing pass that we had already ordered weeks ago. Then after one trip down the slope they shut it all down. I then had to wait another 30 min in line and upon reaching the desk they refused to give me a cash refund so now I m stuck with a useless 100 dollar gift card that I won t be able to use for anything. Complete waste of time and money.

A good ski resort for beginners. We took a learn to ski package which included full day lift ticket, rentals and group lesson. We got lucky that our group lesson turned out to be a individual lesson as it was snowing in the morning. Our instructor 'Mark' was really good. Thanks to him. A very nice ski resort and I would go there again. But some things need to improve. Some parts of the beginner slopes we're icy and really bad. And they stopped operating some carpet lifts after 5.

Played fantasy valley golf course. It was a little wet but the course layout was worth it. It is the type of course you want to play again after seeing it once. Got learned up good first time, looking forward to returning this fall.

Went for the opening day of ski season. Only a few slopes open, but the conditions were great. Minimal crowd, a few powder stashes, no ice that I could tell. Had a couple drinks at the bar. It was small, but nice. Got two local beers that were only $3.90 each, which was a pleasant surprise. Maybe it was a special I didn't know about? For a 20 minute farther drive from Pittsburgh, it was less crowded and $30 less than 7 Springs which have just priced themselves into the realm of absurdity. That place has really gone downhill since the greedy Nutting family purchased it. Wisp might be my new spot.

This is a decent place with activities for any season. We did discuss golf which was fun, but the back 9 was near impossbile and took more time searching for discs than actually playing due to the lack of cut grass.

Quite honestly, this might be the WORST ski resort in the Mid-Atlantic. Everything at the top of the mountain is flat, so you always have to push. Have ridden all over Mid-Atlantic and I have never had to push to get to side of the mountain to other like you have to here. Runs are incredibly crowded, not to mention slow. Additionally, they place staff to manage lines, which they don't. Waited in line for well over 20 minutes on Saturday while line attendants stood there (but don't worry, they got courage to speak up when people were coming off the mountain "too fast"). I do not doubt the other outdoor recreation in the Deep Creek region, I do however sincerely doubt that anyone could every consider Wisp worthwhile for the amount of money they charge. Ridiculously overpriced due to clientele they bring in from DC, VA, etc. Additionally, they do not honor seasons pass holders from other mountains who they have an agreement with. Instead of Wisp, here are places much worth going to in the Mid-Atlantic: Seven Springs, Blue Knob, Hidden Valley, Timberline, Snowshoe, Holiday Valley.

I like it here. We did not stay in the rooms, just visited the coaster in the summer. It is nice because the children can control the speed of the coaster. It makes it fun for kids and teens. There is an outdoor checkerboard and other family activities. It is nice, but the spaces have not recently been renovated. I'm sure if you are skiing, it doesn't matter and the winter slush, salt and dirt probably take a toll on the facility. It's a nice activity for the afternoon on the summer. Trip on the ski lift is fun too.

Nice slopes in the Mid Atlantic. Helpful staff and fast chairs keep the slopes. Great snow management keeps the runs open most of the season (except for 2017 where we had summer like weather in February). We like to include this on our rotation of spots including Seven Springs and Liberty (fast access from DC).

We visited multiple times as there were many activities scheduled this week that were family friendly. Tonight there was a concert with a market with some food and drink options. The weather couldn't have been better.

We did this activity here while on a 4 day vacation. The mountain coaster was a very unique experience! It went much faster than we had expected and ended up being really fun. I would highly reccomend it to everyone.

Stayed at the resort for a nearby wedding. The resort was nice and the pool was huge and the perfect temperature. I am curious what the resort would be like during ski season. The arcade was overpriced and I had to report one of the machines as being out of order.

Horrible place for beginners. Signs are terribly worded and placed. Better instructions of where the easy slopes are could have turned a stressful time into a good time. Staff is condescending to new learners.

3 stars only cause I imagine its a good place for ppl that know what they are doing but I did not enjoy my experience.

Wisp is a great local ski location. I went there to hit the slopes one Friday recently, and it wasn't very busy at all. For about $80 I got a full day lift ticket and rentals, and spent about 6 hours skiing the various trails. There are plenty for beginners and intermediates here, and you can walk right into the cafeteria when you need a snack. There's also also stuff like snow tubing but I haven't tried that here.

Avoid the rental shop at all cost. Waited in line for 2 hours with a 2 year old and a 6 year old. Once we got all our equipment it was 12:30 and kids were beat. Was an awful experience for kids trying to learn how to ski!!

Considering the weather did not cooperate this year, I thought they did a great job of keeping the trails in great shape. This is a great place to bring your family to learn to ski. Lots of trails for beginners and intermediates.
