Just had beer and burger. It was busy. Service was a tad slow for that reason but she was nice. Burger a bit overdone and priced. Duck potstickers were off the hook though. I would go back for that.

An independent ski area with a good assortment of trails. The North Camp area has nice wide trails, more like the Rockies than New England or the Mid-Atlantic. Grooming, instructions and ski patrol are all very good. The cafeteria and adjacent restaurant (DC's) both match what you'd see at resorts from the major US ski companies but less expensive. Very friendly staff and extremely courteous locals.

It's well worth the trip from Pittsburgh, DC, Baltimore, or even Ohio.

My family and I absolutely love Wisp. It's a small resort with easy skiing. Plus, it has all of the extras like the mountain coaster and tubing. However, I didn't 5 star for a reason. The ski lifts desperately need upgraded. While they are the slow sort, a complete overhaul is not necessary. One thing can change the overall experience...Put In Foot Rests! I know I know, first world problems. But, with short slopes and slow lifts you end up spending a lot of time dangling your legs with extra weight attached. My legs and knees are not supposed to be sore from sitting on the lift. As such, by the end of the day I want to go as slowly as possible down the slopes as a reprieve from the pain. Wisp management, of you are reading this, please add foot rests to your lifts. Yeah. Otherwise it's a great place.

I have stayed here many times over the past 20 yrs. The resort is always clean and the staff is always courteous. The entire hotel has been recently remodeled and updated. Certainly recommend for company events, weddings and/or a quick getaway for the entire family.

Smells like poop as soon as you walk in. One bar of soap one rag and towel. I have no clue what that smell was on the bed. Dirty ass floors. Crumbs under the bed. And a green strawberry top on the floor next to the bed near the window. Oh yeah, dried up yellow pee on the toilet seat. ALL of this for $137 a night.

This was our second visit. We took ski and snowboarding lessons. The instructor was great with my son and very patient with me. I can't wait to see what new upgrades bring next. Great location! Great services.

Wisp is probably the only resort you will go to if you are in the DC metro area -- which leads to oppressively packed conditions and terrible skiing. However if it were purely about the mountain I would give this 4 stars as its honestly not that bad -- unfortunately my issues revolve around price point. You do not pay for what you get here -- For clarity you pay 180 for a epic day pass at vale and 75-90 for a wisp lift ticket.... Sure its double the price (which is ridiculous in its own right), but its also 1/100 of the mountain with much less infrastructure. I feel like the price point seriously needs adjustment probably down to the 50-60 range

The website is a bit confusing. We couldn't buy tickets online for Sunday on President's day. My first trip to Wisp. The conditions were frozen granular. I did a few runs and they were good. Holiday price was steep.
I have a family member who needed adaptive ski but couldn't find any information on the website. I tried to ski one on run with him, but ended up calling ski patrol to help him down. Other resorts have a very prominent adaptive ski program, including my local Liberty mtn. Food and prices are as you expect. They do have a few more options, like soup and grilled fish.

The resort is okay. The place is quite a bit run down and maybe after renovation it will be better. Slopes are okay but after a foot of snow the staff just opened one lift out of 8 with no excuse. The lines can long as they very sluggish in opening more than one lift. Otherwise staff is friendly.

I was disappointed with the Wisp. I stayed there ...

I was disappointed with the Wisp. I stayed there in the late 90's and found it quite nice but this time was a little different. We were warmly greeted after a late check in and having encountered near white out conditions. However, once we got to our room the disappointment started. We had pre-order a baby cot but it was not in the room. Also, no microwave ($25 charge for our stay). We stayed on the second floor and the closest microwave was on the lobby level by the vending machine. The Queen Suite was very small and the extra area to place things was nonexistent. We found ourselves rather overwhelmed with unpacking as extra space was simply not there. The room was rather clean, not complaints there. The fridge was very small and froze everything regardless of where it was in the fridge.
We had two more days with no complaint aside from space. Then at checkout I discovered I had been charged an additional $125 for room rates. I had booked on-line for $101 per night with 3 nights for the cost of 2. When I received the bill it was for $139 for two nights and $179 for the third. I pointed this out to the staff but it was an unnecessary headache.
Food was just OK at breakfast. Cost $20 for two omelets and a couple coffees. The
service was OK.
Best thing about being at the Wisp this time around was being able to take our two dogs. They enjoyed walks on the golf course in the snow.
I was sorry to see that the Wisp had just come out of bankruptcy and it seemed like they were still cutting corners to make up for it. The staff was overall nice but our stay was less that desirable.

A small ski resort on the East Coast. About as far south as you can ski or board in the US in the East. They really try to accomodate the guests. Wisp has recently changed ownership and I think it shows. Improvements have been made and I think there are a lot more to come. I think better times are on there way for Wisp!

SAFETY ISSUES!! DANGER!! This is regarding snow tubing. From the mouths of TWO of their employees, they were short staffed on a busy saturday evening. The top of the hill was in total chaos as they clearly sold too many tickets, people pushing and cutting their way. The crowd was pretty unruly and of course, they were all trying to blast past the safety wall at the bottom of the hill. We decided to leave early because the crowds were awful and it stopped being fun. As we returned the tubes, I got hit so hard from an out of control customer that I lost consciousness!! The so-called safety features they have at the bottom of the hill are clearly not adequate as people were getting mowed down left and right. They have 2 young people down there trying to help but its obviously not enough. As I regained consciousness, one employee came to see if I was ok but quickly had to go back to his post to make sure others weren't going to get hit.
I would chalk this up to being a freak accident but it happened more then once while we were there. If I had been an older person or a toddler, that person would have needed an ambulance. We had to leave Deep Creek early because I got a concussion due to the negligence of the management of Wisp.
Perhaps the most painful aspect of this accident was the heartless reply from management when I contacted them. They did not ask how I was feeling nor did they offer an apology, they simply said that the hill met the States safety standards for that day....COLD!
I beg of you, unless you love out of control crowds and disorganization, do NOT go here. If you have small children, DO NOT go here.

I stayed at this resort last week with a few buddies of mine. The picture on this site are very misleading. They show pictures of updated rooms while the majority of the rooms have not been refurbished at all. The pool was filled with bugs and dirt and the clean towels had dirt and hair all over them. I understand this is more of a ski resort but even so, you should have clean amenities year round if you choose to be open year round. The only good thing about this lodge is it s location. It is a perfect distance to the white water rafting places and has a mountain coaster on property. Overall, I wouldn t stay here if you didn t have to.

WISP mountain has worked really hard with snow making and grooming despite the weather to deliver some quality skiing. The resort has skiing, tubing, and a mountain coaster for the winter experience. To be upfront I'm a member of the WISP ski patrol n dedicated to safety at the resort. Snow making resumes tonight, and for the next few days.

Great place for a day trip to ski or snowboard. I've never participated in the summer sports here but I hear it's a great place for mountain biking as well. I prefer to visit during the week when because it can get very crowded on the weekends.
