We love this Winsteads. The food is always good and service almost always comes with a smile!

I'm LOVING that chocolate milkshake from Winstead's... great service, excellent Country Club Plaza location, classic American burger milkshake fries restaurant best.

Amazing if you're craving a classic diner style burger and shake. Loved the atmosphere and service. The staff walked me through the menu and suggested the limeade. I loved it. I will definitely be back

First time was the best time! Server Melissa is the best! Their menu is short simple. I would definitely recommend. Their food comes out fast,fresh and hot! The cherry limeades are the best!

best 24/hr food and best drive thru in kc. solid breakfast and the best kc challenge with the skyscraper. get into it.

Classic. Quaint and hasn't changed since I was a child it's endearing and charming. Plus it serves decent food.

Had great service for it being midnight. Our server was on it and did great!!!

This is the best place. The wait staff are all so incredibly polite, the food is fabulous and served quickly, and the price is so reasonable. I ordered a burger with cheddar cheese and grilled onions, and it was amazing. Onion rings are also incredible and way too many for just one person. Winsted's on the Plaza is THE BEST! The gigantic shake is so fun...the teenagers in the booth next to us ordered one and had a great time sharing it.

Love Winstead's, always have. Childhood memories. Burgers are great, it has kept the diner ambience and charm, and you can share a Skyscraper shake or malt!

The portions served are very small and the food takes rather long to be given to the customers.

Fast food restaurant, but the clerk's attitude is unexpectedly good, the ice cream is rich and delicious.

Same recipe for decades. Steakburger at its finest. Great service. Kinda expensive and no combo meals. Happy hour for shakes though.

Very kind staff and a great place to hang out with friends, and a place to go to after going to a concert ( which me and my friends did.) They got good onion rings and burgers. Clean, relatively quick, and have a drive thru! Just don t mess around with their skyscrapers.

Skyscrapers will mess you up if you re unprepared.

It has a great family environment and I have loved going there for years. There frosty's are incredible

We have always loved Winsteads, but this past experience went above and beyond. Our server, Amber, was incredibly attentive and treated us better than we get treated at most 4 star restaurants in KC. Our food came out remarkably fast, and was the best steak burger in the Midwest (as always).

Nostalgic location! Classic burgers, fires, onion rings & great limeade! Check out thw whole menu. Id you go to the Plaza, you gotta go to Winstead's!

The original location of Winsteads in Kansas City. My favorite diner hamburger and fries. Onion rings are some of the best in Kansas City. Old school feel with fun energy. Great place to hit after bars on Country Club Plaza. Service is typically good. Giant ice cream sundaes are a favorite for kids.

The food came out FAST and the Food was the best that Ice ever had from a Diner. Service wasn't the best, but because of the natural 1960's atmosphere and feeling, food, and food service, I give this place 4 stars

This great dinner was recommended to me by someone at KCAI after a campus visit. What a great recommendation! Excellent hamburgers and French fries, really fast service (and Amber was an awesome server) and great prices...$2.99 for a hamburger! The place was very busy and had a fun vibe.

This place was a great find! The food was delicious and the prices were low. They also have the biggest shake I have ever seen! It is large enough for everyone in the booth to share.
The atmosphere was wonderful. I was transported back in time to a 1950's diner the minute I stepped inside the door. Neon lights, stainless steel, and booths everywhere.
This is one restaurant that I will definitely return to the next time I visit Kansas City.

Super fun atmosphere and the staff was very friendly and fast. Your food comes out with in minutes and everyone has a smile. I was visiting from out of town and will have to visit again! The food was great!

This is always my go to late night burger and cherry limeade! Affordable, fast and consistent.

Go for the shakes and the step back in time! The steakburgers were a little disappointing - tiny and you have to pay extra for addons (like lettuce and tomatoes).

I went to breakfast during covid. Everything was exceptionally clean, everyone had a mask on, every table was appropriately socially distanced. My server was attentive, friendly and my food (I had 2 eggs, hash browns, bacon and toast) was hot and delicious. The staff was extremely nice and it gave me a good feeling to have picked them in such a weird time to be eating out. I felt safe, protected, and I knew that they were going above and beyond so that I was not going to catch anything (going out to eat probably wasn't a good idea but it had been a long time and I just wanted to eat out).
Overall I think they were exceptional. I had a good time, my food was good and my service was excellent. Thank you Winsteads, a true KC restaurant that I hope stays around forever. <3

A family restaurant with a very local atmosphere. Although it is an old building, it is a good space where you can feel like a local. The person I like is the one I love.
For burgers, you can choose 1-3 patties, but since it is thin meat, you can eat it in triples at all.

The burgers where cold and to much onion the server steffani was really good though.

My favorite place to eat in KC. The Cherry Limeaid is epic.

Lovely diner- style restaurant. Similar menu items that you would find at Steak N Shake,. however much better. The servers are fast and friendly. Very clean restaurant. Food is very delicious. I highly recommend this place.

A classic place to sit down an enjoy a good meal. Service is usually fast.

I ate at Winsteads today. I ordered an egg sandwich and fries. The egg on the sandwich had to be a small egg that did not come close to the size of the bread and was paper thin. There was nothing on the sandwich other than a dry egg. No mayo...nothing.The french fries were hard. It was the worst meal I have had in years and I eat out 3 times a week. The owner should visit Spangles in Topeka to find out what a quality burger place is like.
