Dinner on way home from business trip. Great service and love the thick cut onion slice on the burger.

It s ok but the menu is really limited and even though it s a diner breakfast foods aren t available in the evening/afternoon and the service at the actual counter is slow most times. The egg sandwich is affordable but the hamburgers aren t regular burger meat but almost like meatloaf ..mostly a place for teens to be able to go the plaza on the weekend

The cherry-limeade was delicious! The hamburger, dry, & just "so-so". Will definitely go back when Im craving a cherry-limeade! But,I'll steer-clear of the "steak~burger"!
*Tater Tot Review Included* This place is a classic diner with a small yet effective menu where they re good at making it all. The normal steak burger is delightful and the shakes are fun, but the tater tots are the champions. They were delightfully crunchy and tasty with a broad sauce selection, but the fact that you can get a massive plate for under $5 is unreal and why this place deserves 4* tots. Always a fan of Winstead's. The food is cheap, the service is fun, and they are open super late.
Food was inedible... couldn't choke down my onion rings because they were tripping with grease. The meat tasted off and like I might get sick from it. I have bug bites from a gnat and God knows what else swarming around and biting my leg while I was there.
Exceptional food and service!!!! The burgers are extraordinary... The onion rings I recommend they are made faint from scratch and you gotta match it all with a shake.

I couldn t figure out if the staff were tired or rude. The portion is too small. I could finish the sandwich in two bites. I m not a big eater. Also the seasoning is awful. Cheep very cheap.
The ORIGINAL steakburger in K.C. & still the best! Don't get fooled by the wanna-be imitations. Old school sundaes, great food & handmade soda drinks. Doesn't get any better

Reasonable prices, great staff, and simple hamburgers. They are famous for their steak burgers which are delicious. I suggest a milkshake as well. I've never had thicker. You pay for what you want, so don't forget to order fries or onion rings if you want them!
Burger was ok but overpriced. The onion rings were the worst I've had outside of Sonic (yuk). I guess I'm spoiled, comparing them to Paul's onion rings on Blue Ridge or Big Burger on NE Vivion probably isn't fair. The drive-thru service was excellent!!

Winstead is a cool rerto diner that has good burgers worth the try if you take a trip to Kansas city wait is a little slow to get ur food but worth it . I recommend the double Winstead with bacon .

I treat myself to a Winstead's vanilla ice cream cone every time I have to go to the doctor on the Plaza. They are the best ice cream cones I've ever eaten!
The food is honestly subpar (thus sadly only three stars) , but the milkshakes alone are WORTH IT. 5/5 on milkshakes just by themselves. The skyscraper (I prefer milkshake of course( is must-have experience all together, do not attempt alone! ;) The butterscotch milkshake is as close to heaven as I ever want to be. The cherry chocolate combo a very close second. I honestly believe they should dedicate themselves to becoming a milkshake bar.

24/7 drive through is great for someone who is up at odd hours and it doesn't matter if it's 6PM or 430AM the food is hot fresh and served with care. Plus it's one of the few places you can still get Orange Hi-C

This place was the absolutely disgusting the fries were hard and dry same goes for the tots. The chicken sandwiches where so hard and dry i had to drink almost drink my sprite after one bite but they even somehow managed to ruin sprite it was so watered down i couldn't even enjoy it. Then when i ask for another spoon because it was dirty my waiter got angry with me as though I should have just ate off it anyway. That was my first and last time going there.

Had a head of hairs in my fries disgusting! And my shake was just cottage cheese! My burger had not ketchup and instead put it on top of the bun! The drive through worker was obviously upset at something and seemed distressed but no excuse!
