This place is nice and affordable. For college kids, this is a great place to grab a quick meal. The devote is a nice retro style and every server is really nice. I would recommend this place for anyone with a budget.

I took the whole family to Winstead's for a night out for burgers and we enjoyed every bite the fries were perfect the Steakburgers were delicious and we enjoyed every bite I would recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a good bite to eat.

Gotta love a good steakburger. Fast friendly service, always a pleasant experience.

Retro 50s style lunch dinner. Winstead will turn 80 in 2020. What a great place! Very reasonable prices compared to other restaurants in the area.

Oh where has the old Winstead gone? The Winsteads of 30+ years ago.Just left there from picking up a drive thru order. TOTALLY DISGUSTING. The tator tots werent fresh. Tasted old and were cold. Onion rings were cold also. The grilled cheese was just plain nasty. The hamburger bun was hard and old. The only decent item was the strawberry shake. They have been scratched off my list.
Wont be wasting anymore money there.

Winstead's rocks. 1950s diner and best burger in town. 70 years old - you could see Buddy Holly here. Get the triple steak burger and onion rings.

Nostalgic atmosphere with absolutely terrific steakburgers and soda fountain treats. My daughter said she felt like she was on an episode of Riverdale. I had the tastiest burger, a triple Winstead with everything plus cheese and grilled onions, and my mother didn't stop raving about her cherry limeade. Overall a great experience.

They have a perfectly sized menu, helpful and kind staff, great and quickly made food, and plenty of comfortable seating. Great for a quick bite to eat while out on the town.

Great great burger. We wanted a burger and shake restaurant and this place did not disappoint. I ordered a double burger with a fifty fifty side and it was great. Fries and onions rings were crispy and the burger was juicy. We also ordered a large chocolate malt with hot fudge sauce. Our waitress did not go easy oh the hot fudge sauce and it tasted great. Staff was very friendly and our meal was surprisingly cheap with how much food and add on's we got. Highly recommend if you are in the kansas city area.

Happy hour is the best time to go everything get super cheap and the milk shakes are super good

This place used to be delicious. I gave it 3 stars because the tots were good. The desert dry burger deserves no stars. If it wasn't for the WHOLE onion on my burger I wouldn't have tasted anything. If they put any ketchup or mustard or anything like that it was immediately absorbed by the burger. Never in my life have I had any meat this dry. omg
Grease is badly needed. If you go here to order a burger I recommend a liquid to go with it. A lot of liquid. Its insane . I think it was some kind of cloth with onion...no...cloth would have been more moist.

Winstead's needs to be on your KC bucket list. We will be coming back again and again. The food was great and the shakes were wonderful. The skyscraper shakes are HUGE! Service was great as well. They also have 24 hour drive through and after a night out, nothing tastes better than one of their burgers.

Soda and ice cream

Amazing business for running since the 1940's. Decent drinks and ice cream soda. It opens 24 hours. Good place with friends and families. More waitresses are needed to help speed up the slow service.

The food was good like always. The decor hasn't changed in 30 yrs....could use an update. I have always gotten great service here.

Love the burgers here! Winstead's is definately The place to stop when you're hankering a good and affordable burger. The inside is really beautiful with all the lights and juke box. If you are with a group of people, get the skyscraper shake.

I ordered biscuits and gravy a yogurt parfait and hash browns.... Everything was perfect..... The wait staff was friendly and greeted me upon entering.... Good job

Awesome historic place! We had a blast visiting from out of town.

Reminds me of being a kid. It was always such a treat to go eat at Winsteads. Their malts and shakes are the best! I love the thin hamburgers and their fries are delicious!

Happy Hour for vanilla cherry limeade. Underwhelming flavor, the ingredients (vendors) have changed possibly? Not like the great history Winsteads limeade flavors.

Service was great. When the triple steakburger came the lettuce and onions were thicker then the beef and Im wondering wheres the beef?

Love a triple Winstead's burger with and extra of their side-sliced good dill pickles, ect. If you like onions there's the option of grilled onion & they have great tasting large onion rings. (Chili is a popular option also.)

This place has really gone downhill recently and the quality of their food, especially their burgers, has fallen off a lot. It's a shame because it used to be so great.

My parents have been coming here for what feels like hundreds of years. We love coming here every time we visit down!

Fries very ugly and tasteless...and the burger meat must be artificial (horse)meat gross tasteless
