Historic burger joint of Kc. I make a stop here everytime I am in town

A solid fast food cafe, with great milkshakes that leave you wanting more. Personally I would grab an order of onion rings, chicken strips, and top it off with a banana shake, but that is just me. Order whatever you like, whenever you like as they are open 24 hours a day. (keep in mind if you order chicken strips in the night, it will take about 7 minutes for them to cook, but it is well worth the wait for fresh food!)

It is great food and good service. At the plaza in Kansas city.

This is a Kansas City burger landmark, I m told. I m not a fan of thin, smashed patties and that s what you ll get here. Great onion rings but inconsistent on the cook time; some times they re perfect, sometimes they re overcooked to where the onion is shriveled to nothing. They have delicious old fashioned chocolate and vanilla shakes, but proceed with strawberry at your own risk. The cherry limeades are simply the best I ve had.

Great, fast and friendly service!! They go out of their way to make you comfortable!! The food is really good!!! I would recommend it!!!

Steak burger is my go-to meal when I'm on the Plaza. The best onion rings on the planet. You think I'm exaggerating.....nope, the best.

I go there every once in a while. They have good burgers and onion rings. I always get a limeade!

The menu is simple, the food is fast and oh so good!

We always have to eat at Winstead's when we come to Kansas City. Love the steak burgers, shakes and friendly staff. The vintage diner atmosphere is great!

It was expensive for the amount of food we had. The food was okay. I will not come back again.

Love going here when we visit KC. Linemades have sherbet lime so good. There is a happy hour shakes included. A skyscraper shake is even during happy hour. It is huge, fun great pic opt. Food is good and cooked fresh we always love it.

Winstead's is amazing! All food is great, the burgers, fries, onion rings, shakes and cherry limeades (my favorite) and the location is perfect - - right off the Plaza.

Perfect burgers every time. A Kansas City institution that never disappoints. A butterscotch shake is mandatory, and the drive-thru is lightning fast. If I'm in the Plaza area, you know I'm stopping in for a single and a shake.

Rena was a wonderful waitress and delivered excellent service. It's a shame I didn't leave a tip! :-p

Excellent service and great food. They let us celebrate birthday with no problem. Walter was the best!

The restrooms were filthy you co of smell them from the dining room. Our waitresses attitude was about the same. You couldn't enjoy your meal for all the flies and fleas. I will never eat at this place again.

This is my daughter and I favorite place to go . The food is good and onion rings are fabulous. We go and talk and enjoy the people watching..

Winsteads is a lovely place to just chill and hang out with friends, at the waiters and waitresses are super friendly and food is super tasty. Not to mention the classic skyscraper song. I've been going to winsteads since I was a little kid and it'll always be close to my heart

Cheap nice burger but you have to wait a while but other than that Great!

Burgers are trash no seasoning. Pretty expensive for burgers and no combos. But it's 24 hours

The burgers are what I'd call "sad". Service is ok but when a couple of people ordered tots, they brought fries.

The waitress was very polite and great customer service.

I love the food and the employees here, great place

We came into town pretty late so not much was open. We saw a super long line here and thought it must be good... so very wrong. We ordered a triple, a crispy chicken sandwich, 2 tator tots, and what they assume to be a cherry limeade. For waiting 45 minutes we got our meal, missing the tator tots. We called and they told they would take our name and next time we were in town we could get some... had to convince them to give them to us. Thankfully we did because it was the only thing edible. The meat was very dry on the burger and almost flavorless.

Winsteads is the main stay of the Plaza. Best hamburgers and malts in K C. Have been going there for 50+ years.

Fast service.. good food.. always a place i like to stop at when i am in Kansas City in that area..

I drove through to grab dinner on my way home. I go eat here because I love the quality and tradition this place has. I used to eat here every Sunday for brunch at the Blue Springs, MO location. This was my first encounter at this location and I felt at ease with the great service I received. My order was hot, fresh and I had a very generous amount for what I ordered. The two men at the window were very nice and patient. I will definitely be coming back to this location. Fast and friendly!

Great old diner feel to this place. The food is what you would expect and the service is excellent. Milkshakes are highly recommended.

A fabulous piece of Kansas City nostalgia. But the food has gone from good to mediocre. Consider having just a malt or shake and passing on the burgers.

Hamburgers are amazing and the decor is similar to Steak 'n Shake.

Love this place My in laws and husband took me here when i first visited Kansas city. Now we go every time! Homey little diner and great breakfast. Friendly people too!
