Quite modern airport terminal, but security was crowded when we were there and also the airside area was very crowded with too less seating possibilities. All soap on the toilets were empty, which is an absolute no go.

No smoking area after security check, toilets very dirty, roof is not leakproof, everywhere was water on the floor, seats and other thing. The airport really needs a completely refurbishment, like everything in Catania.

The main and only airprt of Catania. The second most important one in Sicily after the one of Palermo.
To reach it, you can take flixbus for 4 or just take ATM bus number 524, it's the cheapest way (1.6 )

I cannot confirm the negative reports here. The baggage is checked in and checked out quickly. So far there has been no theft and I fly to / from Catania very often. Fast connection to Catania city and also quickly accessible from the surrounding area. Transport by bus from / to the plane from the gates is also quick and easy. To non-free WiFi: people, after the roaming charges in the EU have dropped, each of you will probably be able to surf on vacation using the local data tariff. Is also faster than the most congested public wifi hotspots no matter whether Italy, Austria or Germany !!! ;-))

Super good airport and super fast service to some problem. I forgot a bag in one of the shuttle buses that take you to the plane when you do not have a finger. I told the operator in charge and called for the bus to return, all in less than 10 minutes!

The boarding area is tiny and it is very difficult to buy water. If you want to fill the bottle in the toilets it is impossible because it only comes out hot. They have a machine and it got locked when we wanted to get a bottle. We run out of water and thirsty. Embarrassing that a European airport does not have fresh water in the middle of August and at 37 degrees of temperature.

One of the main Sicilian airports well connected by road axes such as the motorway and other connections and therefore easy to reach. Equipped with large car parks of its relevance but also with numerous private car parks with shuttle service, comfortable and efficient, which are cheaper. The airport is large and well managed even if there is no smoking area and, for those who have this problem or need, it is an inconvenience to have to leave and re-enter the facility and be subjected to checks and queues again. The bars and shops inside are well stocked, not so expensive and to be considered normal. From my experience I prefer the airport of Palermo which is less claustrophobic and with more autonomous and simple connections, given the fact that there is a railway line that allows you to directly reach the airport with comfortable and modern trains.

Be careful folks they steal from you checked-in baggage even if you have a padlock on it. They break-in to steal electronics(breaking your baggage doing it. In my case iall the zips are missing so im throwing away my baggage in the middle of my vacations). Never again alitalia. By the way the people laugh at you when you complain in the baggage claiming desk if you are a tourist.

No phone chargers, dirt and trash everywhere, dirty bathrooms, impolite staff, no restaurant. Worst airport in Europe. Don t go here.

So far CTA has been the worst airport I have flown to, and I have been to many airports. Some of the most unfriendly staff you will ever meet, plus on their busiest day of the week they only have one line open on the check in. Make sure to get to this airport EARLY to make sure that you have time to deal with the extremely slow and unpleasant staff. Not to mention the bathrooms had no soap in any of the dispensers and not one stall had toilet paper. I now have a dirty bottom and my ass hurts sitting on their rock solid chairs.

Poor pedestrian walkways from rental car area. Security seems disinterested and sloppy. Limited food options. Limited seating. Awful wifi. Time to refresh.

On 7 August I waited two hours for the baggage to arrive from Linate. The airport was submerged in undelivered baggage and the rolls full of suitcases not delivered in the previous days! I had to resort to the help of the carabinieri to get the luggage that I had seen loaded onto my plane and that therefore had to have arrived with me!
Today 19 August the departing baths are unusable due to dirt and neglect; the sinks, coated in gray, probably have not been cleaned for ... millennia. The bar is dirty, on the table you don't know where to lean! The announcements that reverberate to the loudspeaker are not understandable! But can you ?!

Discreet airport but dizzying prices, everything purchased around Sicily, in the only duty free of the airport costs twice as much. This airport misses a lot of information signs and one which exists are missleading. Also it's only possible to check-in 2 hours before flight and the only "waiting area" is MacDonalds.
Business lounge is a joke: there is room for 10 people, they do have only prosecco, water, juices and chips.
