International airport (the 3rd for importance here...

International airport (the 3rd for importance here in Italy), not dispersive, I would say well organized.
Two Terminals (one only for the Easy jet company), the main terminal is on two levels:
- on the ground floor you will find the ARRIVALS, as well as various services such as: bar with hot table, newsagent, rent a car, bathrooms, exchange, first aid, bank ... not only the ATM but a small bank public (ragtag popular bank of Ragusa), a parapharmacy ...
- On the top floor there are the DEPARTURES, here you will check-in and board ... there is a bar, the desk for information, the business area of Alitalia ...
- inside after checking in and checking ... always bars, clothing stores, gifts, perfumery, opticians ...
I would say that nothing is missing and above all you do not have to travel long distances to cross it.

I ve travelled extensively over a few decade but by far this is one of the worst airport I have ever been. Sunday afternoon departure terminal was a total war zone down to business/VIP lounge where it was packed with people standing and eating cheap lounge food. Savage. We somehow managed to find seats and sat in public area but there were hundreds if not thousand of people in the floor. We had a great trip in Sicily so it was a real shame and shock at the departure...

Worst airport in the world by a long way I would wager, not equipped in any way to deal with the number of passengers using it, terrible staff, no toilet paper, no seating, I could go on. I would have scored it no stars if I could, the only positive I can find in this whole sorry affair is that I am quite proud that I have managed to control the profanity for long enough to post this review.

Airport in Sicily of great importance / importance (in terms of annual passengers it is considered the 4th airport in Italy).
Efficient and well-organized structure, which welcomes almost all national and international flight operators and which allows passengers to fly to all destinations in the world.
One of the excellences of our Sicilian reality.
It is useless to add "highly recommended" given the uniqueness of the airport which has no rivals from Rome down.

Airport managed in an embarrassing way!
Foreign tourists roam without understanding where departures, arrivals and various services are; absent employees also to ask for simple information.
The various baggage delivery desks are often staffed by undersized people with consequent kilometers; so as to block entry to the airport in the event of high turnout (like summer) and trigger different discussions among travelers. Security checks fast enough but always influenced by the number of users; as regards the boarding gates, this is the problem of lack of personnel and therefore inevitable delays.
Safe cannot be considered up to the turnout that they want to believe they can manage, both in terms of quantity of flights and as an attractive pole for traveling to and from Sicily.

In the bureaucratic procedures there is a huge row at the passport control and even bigger at the return where there were only two employees and 500 people to check.
It has a decent duty free and the view from the gate is very beautiful.

Very bad experience. The control system is blocked...

Very bad experience. The control system is blocked because in my hand luggage there were cakes of almond paste of unspecified weight. I am told initially that they must be 100 grams each. Then I propose to leave the control area, cut them in half and repackage them. To which I am told no and that the only solution is to check in the baggage. Meanwhile, other controls are approaching that concern the content and tell the colleague to let me pass. Nothing to do, he claims that it is not possible because the legislation is clear.
I regret the legislation in this regard but it is not true whether it is clear. I don't think I'm the only one I imagined. What is inconceivable to me is that if I had passed by this person's colleagues they would not have seized my content. If I had drugs hidden in my luggage I would have had fewer problems than carrying almond dough.
To this crap (the checks must not be made on a subjective basis) is added the presence of numerous pigeons within the area adjacent to the gates.

It's a small airport. The food selection is ok for the size and there are enough toilets which are relatively clean as well. But the wifi doesn't work and the safety out on the streets is quite low for pedestrians/bikes. Everything is a bit more inefficient than at other airports up in northern Europe which is just a sicilian thing I guess.

The queue for security checks is always long. There are also 2 entrances for the control lane and when there are many people it is always a mess.

External viability is a nightmare especially if you have to return the rental car. There are really tight passages and the indications are not always very clear.

Toilets after security checks are placed in a lily bag. They should be rearranged.

Inside it is cool and there is good air conditioning.

Eye that almond milk powder does not pass checks in hand luggage because it is seen as explosive. Maybe even almond paste. Put them in your checked luggage to be sure.

For being an airport that boasts more than three million passengers a year, there is no way to leave a departing passenger without being swamped by a host of traffic wardens always hunting for unattended cars. If you have to accompany an invalid or a child or an elderly person or simply someone you want to be assured of starting without problems, the fine is insured! Not to mention if you wait for someone: either pay the lace for one of the countless paid parking spaces or pay the lace; there are no alternatives! Oh, I forgot, often the waiting time to pick up the baggage, and longer than the travel time!

Worst customer services even encountered. 4 days to bring a missing bag from ROMA. The 24h contact number given DOES NOT WORK. They now have the bag but refuse to bring it to customer. More than 50 calls (they have not contacted us once) and all they do is giving you another number and delegate responsibility they also refused to hand it to the courier. An embarrassment.

Poor cleaning and chaos. So much chaos both for the check-in, for the controls, and for the gate lines ... 2on2 delays and several members of the ground staff were not exactly "welcoming". On the other hand, there is a good presence of shops including pastry shops, bars, souvenirs. A few more indications on the location of essential services (car rentals, buses, enjoy, etc.) would not hurt but in the end it is a small airport, so with a little good will you can find everything.

Really one of the worst airports in Europe ... Literally crappy toilets and in the transit area, almost no one speaks English. Wifi is not even for money. Long lines everywhere. Tiny shops and hardly any places to sit. We have rarely seen such a bad airport.

Crowded, chaos, staff lacks expertise, professionalism, and interest in passenger service, people keep cutting in line as there is no one guiding them to the right check in which leads to frustration.

Example of staff being unprofessional: a check in employee used our passports as a fan to cool himself off instead of using them to check us in. And they kept shouting for people for the flight to Berlin (there were none) thus leaving a whole checkin lane empty; they could have used it to check in some of the other passengers of airberlin that needed to catch the flight to Dusseldorf.

Extra staff helping to guide the masses along and to improve expectation management, would help a tremendously.

Also, a loudspeaker that actually works would be very helpful.

My airport of departure and arrival in the dear Sicily. Excellent structure, efficient staff, clean bathrooms, excellent bus service to reach the whole of Sicily. Many dining options inside and a nice shopping area supply the Sicilian delicacies
