Usual and exhausting waiting for baggage reclaim. Bad service, bad managers!

International airport (the 3rd for importance here in Italy), not dispersive, I would say well organized.
Two Terminals (one only for the Easy jet company), the main terminal is on two levels:
- on the ground floor you will find the ARRIVALS, as well as various services such as: bar with hot table, newsagent, rent a car, bathrooms, exchange, first aid, bank ... not only the ATM but a small bank public (ragtag popular bank of Ragusa), a parapharmacy ...
- On the top floor there are the DEPARTURES, here you will check-in and board ... there is a bar, the desk for information, the business area of Alitalia ...
- inside after checking in and checking ... always bars, clothing stores, gifts, perfumery, opticians ...
I would say that nothing is missing and above all you do not have to travel long distances to cross it.

Airport which, due to the amount of traffic present and above all the future, was definitely born small. the checkpoint between the check-in desks leaves only a small corridor and it is not easy to pass between suitcases and passengers. good even if the gastronomic proposals in the various restaurants are expensive. Clean environments. the access routes are difficult. Distant car rental desks. connections with public transport to some destinations in this part of the island in addition to the alibus connection

I ve travelled extensively over a few decade but by far this is one of the worst airport I have ever been. Sunday afternoon departure terminal was a total war zone down to business/VIP lounge where it was packed with people standing and eating cheap lounge food. Savage. We somehow managed to find seats and sat in public area but there were hundreds if not thousand of people in the floor. We had a great trip in Sicily so it was a real shame and shock at the departure...

It represents exactly what Sicily is today, a place where chaos, dirt and disorganization reign. Incompetent! Rating -5!

Security officers apply rules in a very personal way, the rules are applied according to the staff on duty

Cute but small, few shops open, we wait after the crown that the situation resumes

Worst airport in the world by a long way I would wager, not equipped in any way to deal with the number of passengers using it, terrible staff, no toilet paper, no seating, I could go on. I would have scored it no stars if I could, the only positive I can find in this whole sorry affair is that I am quite proud that I have managed to control the profanity for long enough to post this review.

Terminal C just put into operation ... in addition to being small, the distribution of spaces is absurd, paradoxically the bar is larger than the 4 gates put together.

Airport in Sicily of great importance / importance (in terms of annual passengers it is considered the 4th airport in Italy).

I was about to return from the Aeolian islands and I traveled the Milazzo-Catania highway and I saw Etna erupting magma was a sight never seen.

Apart from Rome and Milan, the other airports are considerably inferior in all to that of Catania

Disorganised airport not built to deal with capacity. How hard is it to have more seating after you lock people in to gates 20-22 after (totally avoidable) queues at passport control.

Make sure you leave loads of time.

Recently built airport with practically non-functioning air conditioning. Absolutely unacceptable given the huge number of passengers and flights. Second floor departures with nowhere to sit, not even for the elderly.

Very rude staff, no assistance at all for costumers, i tried to ask for information and i just got completely ignored. flying with British Airways.

Waiting very long at the boarding gate, the plane was already on the track, empty, but although we were already late on the scheduled time, they left us almost 50 minutes standing waiting for the doors to open, a terrible heat, people complaining, old people who struggled to stand but cmq did nothing to facilitate waiting

I have always taken the plane from here to travel (being that I live in the province of Messina) and I must say that it is small enough for the influx of people.

The lanes they have created for baggage control are very narrow and you find yourself with people right and left elbow to elbow, in spite of social distancing

Airport managed in an embarrassing way!
Foreign tourists roam without understanding where departures, arrivals and various services are; absent employees also to ask for simple information.
The various baggage delivery desks are often staffed by undersized people with consequent kilometers; so as to block entry to the airport in the event of high turnout (like summer) and trigger different discussions among travelers. Security checks fast enough but always influenced by the number of users; as regards the boarding gates, this is the problem of lack of personnel and therefore inevitable delays.
Safe cannot be considered up to the turnout that they want to believe they can manage, both in terms of quantity of flights and as an attractive pole for traveling to and from Sicily.

Very bad! Very dirty, fetid baths! Arrogant and rude staff. A shame. Services at minimum terms. Unfortunately it is inevitable to use it given the position but it would be closed

Excellent international airport. Rich in internal and external services. Parking prices are excellent and cheap.

Worst airport ever. Two times have I been flying from here, both times has it been a complete mess with the check-in. Wrong information, new information, no information and nobody knows anything.

One of the worst airports I've ever been to. Lots of staff to do everything slow and chaotic. Delayed flights, but hey, I don't know if it's their fault.

Medium-sized airport, but with one of the highest passenger traffic in Italy. Excellent services, there are no transit areas and cabins for smokers. Excellent culinary products, all in all at affordable prices

Bad organization of the airport ... queues everywhere without respecting social distancing. One of the most disorganized airports in Italy

Kip of an airport. Chaotic gate organization. Poor quality overpriced shopping. You will dred and never to return.

A small airport with a mini-duty-free-shop ... but otherwise all right. Right next to the exit, the buses leave. Taxis and car hire are another way to get there.

I often use the Catanese airport and from the Sicilian living in the North, I say that compared to the past, we appreciate significant improvements in terms of service, cleanliness, waiting times at the controls and order outside in the parking lots.
Perhaps it would be necessary to insist a little more, to eradicate the scourge of illegal parking, given that you still find parking attendants to cover some areas.

The prices of the products in the airport are absurd. Ex. A small bottle of 1/2 liter water 1.70 ... more checks would be needed

Airport really too small for the number of travelers. The lounge is in his image: really tiny (8 to 10 seats to sit only), and only a few fruit juice and packet of chips, nothing more)

Airport from third world ......... dirty everywhere unpresentable toilets to be ashamed of, bars in the gate area where a group of kids try to run a service unprofessionally, I tried to eat the worst sandwich ever seen.
Truly a bad business card for a region of Sicily that deserves something else with its beauty.

Almost none of them speak English at an international airport. Staff rude. Bring a lot of time.

Best airport in Sicily, it is not huge, but it disposes of the line well and in the restaurant area it eats fairly well

Unintuitive, especially for tourists, slow, very slow staff

Really rude shop staff. They seem to be doing you a favor, without a smile, without a greeting. Luggage arrived after a long time

The structure was organized with very precise flows in / out, arrivals / departures, unlike the Verona airport, from which we started, here we measured the fever. Unfortunately, I cannot give more because the bathrooms are dirty, no sink forbidden to keep the distance ... and in general, no one who enforces the distances.

Airport well organized on the way the ticket and suitcase checks were carried out in less than 5 min.
In the bureaucratic procedures there is a huge row at the passport control and even bigger at the return where there were only two employees and 500 people to check.
It has a decent duty free and the view from the gate is very beautiful.

Very bad experience. The control system is blocked because in my hand luggage there were cakes of almond paste of unspecified weight. I am told initially that they must be 100 grams each. Then I propose to leave the control area, cut them in half and repackage them. To which I am told no and that the only solution is to check in the baggage. Meanwhile, other controls are approaching that concern the content and tell the colleague to let me pass. Nothing to do, he claims that it is not possible because the legislation is clear.
I regret the legislation in this regard but it is not true whether it is clear. I don't think I'm the only one I imagined. What is inconceivable to me is that if I had passed by this person's colleagues they would not have seized my content. If I had drugs hidden in my luggage I would have had fewer problems than carrying almond dough.
To this crap (the checks must not be made on a subjective basis) is added the presence of numerous pigeons within the area adjacent to the gates.

It's a small airport. The food selection is ok for the size and there are enough toilets which are relatively clean as well. But the wifi doesn't work and the safety out on the streets is quite low for pedestrians/bikes. Everything is a bit more inefficient than at other airports up in northern Europe which is just a sicilian thing I guess.

Very very dirty (toilets, seats, etc.). There is pigeon poop and dirt everywhere. The staff is very slow and unfriendly.

The queue for security checks is always long. There are also 2 entrances for the control lane and when there are many people it is always a mess.

External viability is a nightmare especially if you have to return the rental car. There are really tight passages and the indications are not always very clear.

Toilets after security checks are placed in a lily bag. They should be rearranged.

Inside it is cool and there is good air conditioning.

Eye that almond milk powder does not pass checks in hand luggage because it is seen as explosive. Maybe even almond paste. Put them in your checked luggage to be sure.

For being an airport that boasts more than three million passengers a year, there is no way to leave a departing passenger without being swamped by a host of traffic wardens always hunting for unattended cars. If you have to accompany an invalid or a child or an elderly person or simply someone you want to be assured of starting without problems, the fine is insured! Not to mention if you wait for someone: either pay the lace for one of the countless paid parking spaces or pay the lace; there are no alternatives! Oh, I forgot, often the waiting time to pick up the baggage, and longer than the travel time!

It was really great but italybycar was really bad and dubious

Worst customer services even encountered. 4 days to bring a missing bag from ROMA. The 24h contact number given DOES NOT WORK. They now have the bag but refuse to bring it to customer. More than 50 calls (they have not contacted us once) and all they do is giving you another number and delegate responsibility they also refused to hand it to the courier. An embarrassment.

Poor cleaning and chaos. So much chaos both for the check-in, for the controls, and for the gate lines ... 2on2 delays and several members of the ground staff were not exactly "welcoming". On the other hand, there is a good presence of shops including pastry shops, bars, souvenirs. A few more indications on the location of essential services (car rentals, buses, enjoy, etc.) would not hurt but in the end it is a small airport, so with a little good will you can find everything.

Well organised. The only problem which however is not a problem, we had booked cars with goldcar. It is not immediately visible. It is outside the airport and the sign is hidden by large advertising panels. Clean airport interior

Very functional and modern. Easy access to parking. Excellent bus and taxi stop immediately at the exit. Well-stocked shops and new Gates. Excellent presentation of Sicily immediately upon arrival of the tourist.

Very well structured airport, handling went really well. Covid-19 test had to / were allowed to do it for free who did not have a current one. Process very well.

Really one of the worst airports in Europe ... Literally crappy toilets and in the transit area, almost no one speaks English. Wifi is not even for money. Long lines everywhere. Tiny shops and hardly any places to sit. We have rarely seen such a bad airport.

Crowded, chaos, staff lacks expertise, professionalism, and interest in passenger service, people keep cutting in line as there is no one guiding them to the right check in which leads to frustration.

Example of staff being unprofessional: a check in employee used our passports as a fan to cool himself off instead of using them to check us in. And they kept shouting for people for the flight to Berlin (there were none) thus leaving a whole checkin lane empty; they could have used it to check in some of the other passengers of airberlin that needed to catch the flight to Dusseldorf.

Extra staff helping to guide the masses along and to improve expectation management, would help a tremendously.

Also, a loudspeaker that actually works would be very helpful.

A great international airport, a reference point for all of Sicily.

Informative, understandable. Many cafes, shops, prices in the city, many places to stay.

My airport of departure and arrival in the dear Sicily. Excellent structure, efficient staff, clean bathrooms, excellent bus service to reach the whole of Sicily. Many dining options inside and a nice shopping area supply the Sicilian delicacies

Large queues at check in and security checks. Few seats. Toilets modern but dirty. Sicily is beautiful and surprising.
