It was a great time with good slopes and good food at the marketplace and Solstice. The only negative was the guest service and ticket selling staff who do not know how to provide customer service and made mistakes selling tickets. Someone their telling me a lift ticket was good for lifts it was not good for was MY fault for not knowing better.

Went here with my love and his buddy. Beautiful ski resort. I didn't do any skiing lol but they had a nice big fire pit with comfy chairs roundabout that I sat in and enjoyed my great hot cocoa from the coffee shop.

Pretty good ski resort. Rather expensive at around 80 bucks for a day. The food is also very expensive. The skiing is pretty good. It's the tallest mountain in the area with about 13 slopes ranging from green to double black. Sometimes a bit icy but still a good day trip.

Whitetail is terrible. We paid for tubing passes but the weather this year was terrible and we could never find time to go. Now they won t extend our pass and are throwing $300 out the window.

Great for first timers. I learned to ski and snowboard here. Weekends' daytime is very busy- lines like Disneyland. Weekday or evening are the best time to ski.

Staff are friendly and helpful.

The mountain is not huge, obviously. About 10 mins from the top and then to bottom.

compared to whitetail it is not as good and may be closed unexpectedly due to weather ,although some nice rails (5-6) not worth the money but no other option and I guess the maintenance cost them a lot so OK overall.
the ski shop is not as expensive as other places

day lift costs around 70$

Well organized, nice runs for the elevation, easy to park, change and ski. Food and restaurant service was so-so. I've never seen beer cans on the slopes before; look under the lifts on your way up - everywhere. How hard would it be to clean it up, especially when you're paying nearly west coast lift ticket prices? Also first time ever - in 25 years of skiing - where I've experienced people smoking cigarettes on the lifts. Really love that fresh mountain air. Bottom line - decent, nice and well organized resort with fun trails for the elevation; the people visiting, however.. well, let's just say rough and ill mannered.

At first, i thought it was an amazing idea for my dad to bring me skiing for the first time. I was ten and was very happy about it. We arrived at whitetails after a long 2 hour drive and were very excited, my dad, brother, step brother, step sister and I. My dad paid hundreds of dollars for the skiing and didnt buy a helmet for us because they were 20 dollars each. After that, my big brother and i took a lesson then went on an easy slope with my dad. Next thing you know, i bumped into a tree because the slopes weren't protected. I was unconscious, got a concussion, broke my tibia, broke some teeth, and had to get stitches next to my eyes. I also had to get airlifted. My dad would have sewed the place but couldnt beacause while he was signing us in, he had to sign a paper saying that he would not sew them. I almost died that day and i now cant play my favorite sport (soccer) anymore because of my concussion. Now, everytine i run my tibia hurts. Because of whitetails, i cant do the things i like anymore.
So in my opinion, i think that whitetails should be your last choice of place to go skiing.

Went snow tubing! Lots of fun! They have an outdoor fire pit & fireplace which makes for a nice contrast to the man made snow (if nature doesn't provide it herself) and they offer an active duty military discount too. Overall it was a great adventure.

Always like to visit Whitetail during snow season. Definitely a great place for locals, family and friends. Service is good, snow condition is the regular East coat snow.
I like their Advantage card program, their learn to ski package is also good for beginner. If you like to commit to Ski and/or Snowboarding, the Mountain Passport is a must have! You will get the choice to try both and as well.

This resort has many different slopes of varying difficulty for skiers and snowboarders of all skill levels. There is a great porch like area with adernondeck chairs which is good for taking a break from the snow. If you're looking for somewhere a bit warmer, there is a lodge that has food and heating. I highly recommend this resort over the competition.

It's the closest ski slope to DC. Very small compared to Seven Springs or Snowshoe, but has expanded over the years to include a pretty decent variety of runs. Often not open until well into January, due to mid-Atlantic weather. Once open, it is usually ice covered by a thin veneer of granular that gets pushed off the steep parts by noon. Overall they do a good job with what they have to work with. If you catch it after a good couple days of natural snow it can be a pleasant surprise.

New years eve skiing under the lights until 1am. Ball drop, fireworks, and a bonfire. Absolutely awesome. Resort was super clean, organized, and well staffed. Couldn't have asked for anything better.

A great place for Snow Tubing, Skiing and Snow Boarding. They have all levels of trails for skiing and snowboarding. Also there is a cafe to fill your tummy. Snow tubing is a fun activity if you are with children. They have over 10 tracks for Snow tubing. All well maintained. $31 for Snow Tubing on weekends for 2 hours. A great resort with all the amenities. Staff is very helpful. They will make your trip more fun. The ride to the resort is quite scenic. Small mountains and plains full of snow when you go in winter.

Slopes were nice and most the staff was pretty friendly. Just know, if you pay for an 8hr lift ticket and they stop the lifts for weather they won t credit you time for the next day. Not sure how it works at other resorts but I feel like if you pay for 8 and don t get it you should be credited time.

Had a blast snow tubing with the kids. Deducted a star for food costs... Food is ok, a step up from amusement parks, but the price is on par with them - a bit steep for what you're getting. But the key is the tubing experience, which is top notch. The kids loved it!

Loved the on-site daycare and the staff was super helpful. Everyone was very nice, down to the cashiers in the cafe asking how the skiing was that day. They were working hard on getting all the trail open, so I cant fault them for that. The lines for the lifts were super short and there wasn't much of a crowd. I had a great time and paid dearly for it ($250 for 4 hours of skiing for 2) on top of the $70 daycare. But it was worth it! Tubing was fun too (but not cheap either). Daycare provides snacks and lunch but not milk or fresh food. All fruits/veggies were cooked/canned etc.

This is east coast mid Atlantic skiing, so expectations need to be tempered, but the mountain does a great job. The people are friendly and if you plan ahead and buy lift tickets and rental gear online before you get to the mountain the process is much smoother. Both of my kids went through the kids mountain camp, which was fantastic. The kids had a blast and the quality of the instruction was top notch. We have now skied out west the past two seasons and both of my kids were well prepared. We head up to whitetail about 6 times a year and always have a good time.

Came here with a bunch of friends for the weekend and it was awesome! The parking system is good and they have shuttles for those who park far. Tickets are on the pricey side, but there are numerous trails to choose from. The facilities are really clean and the staff were nice. If you are military, they give you a little discount.

The slopes were crazy crowded and the lines were long. The "guests" that were there make you feel sad about the American people. However, the staff there are absolutely awesome. The staff was friendly and helpful....they went out of their way to help me. Also, they were very helpful when my son got stuck on the slopes.

4 stars since it's the closest place to DC an alright place with quick chairs. It definitely doesn't rank high on East Coast ski resorts but at least the staff is nice. Prices are way too high but you pay the premium for proximity. Need to work out getting a bar there since there isn't much around Whitetail as far as Apres Ski goes.

Perfect day trip as it's only a couple hours from the DMV area, good variety of different slopes for different ski levels, renting equipment is fast and efficient. Cozy lodge provides a comfortable place to sit and drink hot chocolate to get away from the cold conditions.

I took my friends to whitetail for tubing on Feb 7 between 2-4pm. There were two small children in our group ages 9 & 10. We get to the top of the mountain and decide to go down #10 and thats where we met James. By looking at him he didn't look like a guy that would be friendly but as it turns out he was the nicest person. Every time we came back to the top, the children said "lets go to James row". He spun them, he pushed them, he did what ever he could to make our children have the best time and I am so thankful to have had the pleasure of meeting James and your staff that day. He is a great guy and I hope to see him up there again. Thank you Whitetail Ski Resort Tubing area

The best people made this experience amazing.

The best people made this experience amazing.

I'm no pro- and this was my first time here, so the helpful staff were really the best part.

They asked at every turn how you were doing and they were all willing to help.

They had brand new equipment that I was able to rent and really enjoyed it.

We ate at the pizza place and it was oddly delish.

We will be back for sure!

Ps: this is a dry resort!! No alcohol served here.
