Formally the Cathedral Church of Saint Peter and Saint Paul in the City and Diocese of Washington. A beautiful building in Washington, D.C. Chartered by Congress in 1893, construction beginning in 1907, fully completed in 1990. Most of the building is constructed using a buff-colored Indiana limestone. Resting place of President Wilson.

I am so disappointed that it was closed for some special event. I tried three times to get in there to see it no go. It's okay I will walkthrough on the internet. The grounds are stunning the outside of the building is amazing The gardens are relaxing and I enjoyed looking at the different species of flower and the way they set up the purples in the violet color it is gorgeous. A must-see in DC make sure to get the app for the gargoyles on the outside they are you just have to see him there so many there are stories behind each on app

We got there too late to be able to go inside the cathedral, but the grounds were still open. We went during the Fall and there was a small garden with flowers and plants in nice arrangements. This is a great place to take photos for friends or engagement.

I attended a Yoga Class at The Washington National Cathedral in 2018. It was an awesome experience my heart was full of joy and love. To be present in a place I cherish and sharing a Yoga Class with other yogis was the best experience. I m grateful for those who made it possible for the Yoga Community to come together and practice mindfulness and yoga.

Very nice building. If you like monuments and historic places. Don't miss it. I suggest you to get help from their tour guide to have a better understanding of the details and the history behind them.

We took the highlight tour which lasted about 40 minutes. It's well worth the $11, which helps go towards the church's earthquake repair efforts. The stained glass windows are a sight to behold. Great view of the city from a top the front tower.

Very beautiful and Rich architecture. You are able to see the upstairs and downstairs at this magnificent Church, there are many small chapels within cathedrals to pray and reflect. You can tell the clergy is not super excited to have to deal with visitors but the people working the gift shop are super nice.

Visiting the Washington national cathedral was a once in a lifetime opportunity. I was lucky enough to visit during Christmas time and it did not disappoint. I think I ended up spending over four hours here. There was SO much to see. I also browsed the gift store and found a few ornaments for my family. The staff were friendly and helpful. I look forward to my next visit. Highly recommend if you are in DC.

A classically beautiful 14th century era Gothic cathedral with modern and sometimes whimsical stained glass and carvings mixed in with the classical elements. Go during the warmer weather to experience the beautiful Gardens or at dusk to view the play of light through the windows.

Always an amazing service and the church itself is GORGEOUS! Definitely worth just coming to look at the beautiful mesmerizing stain glass but service and amazing members and warm welcome has us always going back.

Most amazing church, was so surprised at all of the various chapels and multiple floors. Also was very interested in learning that it took 83 years from the first stone was laid until completion in 1990. Also saw the effects of the 2011 earthquake which caused about $34 million in damage. Beautiful building, grounds, surrounding supporting structures and gardens. Well worth the trip and the $12 self guided tour cost.

The tour was informative, interesting and short! We were able to take our two small kids through the cathedral. There s an observation tower on the 7th floor where you can see the whole city, a LEGO recreation of the cathedral in the gift shop where you can pay to help build and even a Darth Vader gargoyle! Take time to walk the grounds!

Breathtaking in its grandeur and the unbelievable architectural structures that were built by our forefathers. Admission is $12 for adults with discounts for seniors and students. The main floor is magnificent and then you go below ground and it's more than you expect. You also get access to the observation deck on the 7th floor, just below the bell towers and is accessed by elevator. Several floors and areas that are off limits but what you do have access to will keep you busy for a few hours and then if you walk the beautifully manicured grounds you can easily spend a half day there. There are two gift shops with the one on the main floor being the smallest but it is next to the lego display of the cathedral. The gift shop in the underground level has a lot more items including food and beverages for consumption in that area. They have a very large garage underground and the location is highly visible and right off of Wisconsin Avenue. Lots of history has happened in this building with more to come for many years. Oh almost forgot, seems like they have some festival or gathering on the grounds most weekends as well as a dozen or so food trucks on festival weekends. Enjoy and be respectful as they still have worship services daily.

The Anglican Church preaches inclusive, but I had an unpleasant experience. I went at a time when it was full of students and I went inside the church to visit. I was approached and kicked stupidly by a lady who practically dragged me by the arm out. The plaque with the visiting hours is inside the Church, not being possible to know before entering. In compensation, the surrounding garden is wonderful.

Magnificent, almost done with the restoration after the earthquake. My sister is a Canon here so we got an inside guided tour. Bring binoculars so you can see the interesting, whimsical gargoyles.

Lovely cathedral. A modern version of the classic gothic cathedrals of Europe, not quite the same but impressive regardless. Modern amenities like an elevator to the top floor certainly make it easier than climbing stairs. I loved all the different gargoyles, see if you can spot the darth Vader inspired one. The only reason I did not rate it higher was I thought the admission fee was a bit high. 4 adults cost us $48. I know they are funding to fix the earthquake damage but this should be a place accessible to everyone.

Did the gargoyle & monster tower climb tour today. A really great 90 minute tour with Ken as our guide. About 12 people on the tour. Lots & lots of climbing & squeezing thru very narrow passageways on the roof. It was all worth it. Make your reservation early. We also took the free tour around the inside of the cathedral after which was interesting as well. Reservations aren't required for that tour. We parked in the underground lot & rode the elevator up.
