Worth the visit!

I ve lived in DC for three years and this is by far my favorite place here 7th largest cathedral in the world, crazy!!!

I recommend going for one of the tours too. It s about $12 to get in and the tours are free. There are so many things that you wouldn t know about the art and architecture, but their experts do a fantastic job at explaining everything.

Sunday worship anywhere is essential but to worship at the cathedral - well, I have no words grand enough to explain. We were greeted as sisters in Christ, not as visitors. We praised Jesus in song and prayer and listened to the sermon, then praised more! I sincerely wish every person on this earth would come to know Jesus as Lord, so visit the cathedral the next time you are in DC, and visit a local church this week.

The stained glass windows were beautiful. The variety of worship spaces within the cathedral was a surprise, ranging from small intimate chapels to the prime sanctuary. Every inch of this glorious space has been decorated to bring Glory to God.

I hope you can experience it first hand soon

A must see. Take the tour And go to the top. And see all of DC. Carriage building is a great place to have lunch. Food is great. Book store is amazing. You can spend half a day there.

Definitely a must-see if you like architecture and big stone buildings. It s an amazing structure. Beautiful stained glass. You ll be staring straight up above you for a long time in and outside the Cathedral.

We were fortunate to attend the Wonderful 4th of July Concert in this most worshipful space.

Incredible Cathedral with stunning stained-glass windows and detailed engravings. I never realized we even had a national Cathedral until recently but getting to visit it was such a delight! The tours will teach anybody a lot about american history and the details of the Cathedral, I recommend that anybody visit!

America may have separation of church and state but it has a beautiful cathedral. An architectural marvel, it is used for national mourning, 9/11 remembrance, presidential funerals and the like. I visited as a tourist my first time in Washington and it is a sight to behold.

Beautiful. Well worth seeing outside downtown DC. Go to the 7th floor for a spectacular view.

Beautiful building. There was such a peace about the place. However, I thought it was exploitative to make people pay to visit and attend services, and also that they have a gift shop selling statues of other gods!

Wow! Went there at Christmas so saw their creche. Just beautiful from the moment you walk in. Excellent docent who was very good in pointing out so much. Stained glass windows are exquisite.

It's nice not to have to cross an ocean to see great architecture. And it great to see that artisan craftsmanship still exist even if it's imported.

Very beautiful place, amazing with its architecture. The building was damaged during the earthquake in 2011 and is still being restored. Unfortunately I could not get inside. To visit necessarily.

A great tour with many interesting details pointed out. Truly a "must see" for all visiting DC

1st time seeing it and it was really interesting. Take the guided tour or you will miss a lot of the hidden treasures of the place (Darth Vader, Cat & Mouse, etc.)

All the monuments and Smithsonian museums quickly reachable on foot. It makes it a very enjoyable day.

The tour is great. They need the support since this institution can't receive government assistance due to separation of church and state.

It is a very beautiful cathedral you feel an inner peace

This is one of my favorite Cathedral after San Patricio in New York, very clean , organized and the people in the front desk are very nice and friendly, they have a Military discount on the tikets and also teachers discount and that is very nice

Went on a behind the scene tour. The tour guide was fantastic. It does require a bit of walking in tight spaces and stairs without railings. I would highly recommend if you are interested in architecture.

This Cathedral is a must for absolutely anyone who appreciates stained glass or just architecture. The work on this building is astonishing. The gift shop was a little pricey, but I can't take a star off for that, because the experience I had was a once in a lifetime one.

Truly a national treasure. The only true Gothic cathedral thia side of the pond.

We visited today for the Easter Celebration. Beautiful service, and a breathtaking sanctuary. Will definitely be back soon. If you live near by, or are in DC on travel, please at WNC to your must see list. It's a lovely experience.

A beautiful must-see! I could spend hours here taking interesting photos and walking all over the property. Hauntingly stunning cathedral and beautiful landscaping all around the outside. Money well-donated.

He reminded me slightly of the notre dame, with its side arches and gargoyles. But the secondary spaces like chapels, crypts and prayer spaces are many, forming a labyrinth. The towers bring "easter eggs" in sculptured shapes. Look for dart vader in the northwest tower, but use binoculars. Was it the inspiration for the movie? Or the other way around?

I was living her for one year and this area or district has a great memory. McLean Garden.

Beautiful cathedral in a gorgeous area of the nation's capital.

The National Cathedral was full of so much love that my soul radiated and filled my spirit with hope and love. I was in town with friends to march at the March For Our Lives, and we paid respects to Parkland school at the national Vigil. While attending, after the services, I met the priest, and he was a gem. He let me know about the Pulse Vigil held at the same location, and he was also the same man that laid Matthew Shepard to rest peacefully a couple months back. So much love, faith, history, and art to experience.

OH so pretty! One of the 10 largest cathedrals in the world! Gothic architecture with stained glass throughout. Great little book store in the basement!

Really pretty, from far one would think it is a Catholic church, though it is not. No problem with that. It has a very pretty architecture and it seems like there's continuous work in it. There's an interesting shop for a church. There are Legos, and you can buy all sorts of things, ad you walk into the church you can see the seals of the states in the floor.

More than happy to take our money, tell us it closes at 5:30, but fail to tell us the observation tower and gift shop closes at 5. So much for hitting those up on our way out.
What a ripoff.

The windows are amazing. (The gargoyles and grotesques aren't bad either)

Worth the visit. Went for the organ recital..make sure u take the elevator up to see the city. Beautiful

Amazing place to be in. But not a great location to hold a concert. Been there recently to attend the yo yo ma concert. The seats were cramped and crowded. People sitting in the back could not see the artist at all. Many of the tv monitors at the back were not turned on. We had to strain our necks to catch the action on the few monitors that were turned on

So rich in history. Awesome woodwork, stone masonry and stained glass. Tour guide was informative.

One of the most beautiful churches I have ever seen!

Amazing building. It's huge! Anyone who loves Gothic architecture will be happy here.

Spectacular in its beauty and in Christ's love so evident here! A wonderful retreat from worldly stress!
