Decorated lobby. Comfy bed. Environmentally friendly bathroom.

The hotel might be difficult to find since the sign is at the corner of the hotel, so make sure you put on your X-ray vision. Besides that, It is very conveniently situated, 10 min walk to the farmer market and the little Italy area.

This hotel was awesome. Loved the room and the rooftop bar and the outdoor pool. Only downside was no hot tub and no fridge in the room. The housekeeping and front desk staff were great--professional and friendly. Great location--we could walk to Gaslamp Quarter, Little Italy, and Seaport Village. (We didn't go to Kelvin Restaurant connected to the hotel--it looked overly pricey but there were so many great restaurants in walking distance!)

Stayed here when I went to CRSSD at the Waterfront Park, so the location was great. Room was clean and spacious and comfortable. I would definitely look into staying here again when I'm in the area.

Nice place, seems like the manager has seen pictures of nice places but never been inside them. Like a 10-point checklist of trendy hotels with no actual knowledge. Room wasn't very clean, no artwork, ghetto old hallways, walls like paper, bright blinking LEDs in the room, and no viable self-parking. Nice try, but I'd probably stay elsewhere next time (and every time).

Excellent hotel: great service, large clean rooms, solid gym, modern decor, great views from higher floors. Awesome lounge with free breakfast and happy hour for gold and platinum Marriott members. Location is solid -- downtown within walking distance of Waterfront, Gaslamp District and Little Italy. Valet is expensive but its easy to find free parking right nearby on weekends, weekday visitors may want to look for a cheaper lot, not hard to find within a few blocks of hotel. Highly recommend!

Overall good experience. The hotel is cute and very clean. The rooftop bar leaves a lot to be desired. The location is actually pretty good if you like food as there are a lot of great places within walking distance.

Great hotel in San Diego. The service is good and the rooms are spacious and nicely decorated. They have a pool area as well as a rooftop lounge that has DJs spinning on the weekend. Great place to be.
The location is good too, being walking distance to gaslamp quarter.

I was in San Diego for two nights and I can't imagine having a greater hotel experience than Hotel Republic. Staff, rooms, location and cleanliness were all on point. Next time I am in SD, I know exactly where I will be staying.

Stayed here 1 night during comic con weekend.. I m surprised I didn t hear any noises. I found the hotel clean, comfortable and cozy. Only downside is their Wi-Fi. Only available in the lobby, not so cool for a posh hotel..it should also be available in the rooms without charging for it! C mon It s 2019!

The lobby is beautiful and modern. The rooms were lacking and did not match the lobby. Clean, but overall was meh. Good location, walking distance to Little Italy and Gas Lamp. Very easy check-in and check-out.

Horrible bed. Tossed and turned all night. Hideous view: ripped out swimming pools under construction and only other available view was into the room of the guest adjacent to my room. No privacy whatsoever.

The room was very contemporary. We had a corner room, and though the view wasn't spectacular due to construction, the nice features of the room made up for it. There was a fairly large tub, waterfall shower, king size bed with very comfortable pillows and blanket. The tv was very nice and the brightness of the room was great.

The staff is absolutely wonderful. Everyone is friendly and so helpful. Room was clean and totally modern. I love the shades in the rooms. I didn't like the style of the shower how there was no door but that seems to be the new thing a lot of hotels I've stayed in have been that style now. I'll definitely stay again. Centrally located and within walking distance of attractions. Loved it

We stayed here for several nights for my friends wedding. The entire staff was amazing! Very accommodating and friendly. The bartenders recognized us after only one visit to bar and had remembered my drink the day before. Room was clean and bed was very comfortable. Could not have asked for better customer service. The only thing that was an issue during entire stay was elevators were slow and broke down at one point but they were quick to resolve issue. Will definitely stay here again when visiting San Diego.

Pretentious and "Over the Top" Trendy

Not good for kids or family's - more of a party type atmosphere. IMO - not good for anyone over the age of 30.

For a Westin and Starwood property, this one disappoints.

Wonderful lobby - the bar looked great, everything had a fun aesthetic. The room was mostly great - beds were comfortable, window nook was lovely, but a few things looked a bit old and unappealing. I stayed in room 801, and some of the moulding along the bathroom door looked old and worn, like it needed a fresh coat of paint. Still, I'd happily stay again in the future! Oh, VIP parking was ridiculously overpriced, too. $47.

A great hotel near downtown San Diego and Little Italy. The decor is in touch with the local community, the staff is friendly, and the lobby bar is great. There's the added bonus that this property is in the Marriott catalog, but it stands on its own as a great place.

This hotel was interesting. The location is fantastic. The views are amazing. The rooms - they tried to be modern, but it comes across as "we love IKEA!" not "modern". The furniture looked cheap. The color scheme was odd. Also it took a really long time for someone to come out of the back room at the reception desk when we checked in... that was odd.

Stayed for 4 days at hotel Republic. Good food, friendly staff, great amenities. It is close to the airport, as well as sightseeing, and the nightlife. The members lounge had great breakfast options as well as wine and cheese to top off your evening, was beautiful and very convenient for a night in. I enjoyed the full sized items the room has to offer as well and the staff keeping my room nice and tidy. Highly recommend and I will be back myself.

Had a flight cancellation and thought American airlines was sending me to a crappy hotel. Pleasantly surprised, this hotel was amazing and aestheticly beautiful. The rooms are amazing and the staff is very professional. Great stay. Thank you

Nice place, clean rooms, good staff. The lobby bar had some tasty drinks (I recommend the Bobby Burns), and the weight room was decent. Unfortunately my experience was lacking: the bathroom sink and shower had drainage problems and the TV didn't work. Your mileage may vary.

Really enjoyed this location central to the Gaslamp district, Little Italy, and Seaport Village. Beautiful new facility with great food, nice lobby area, live music some nights, and super friendly staff. Another great Autograph Collection hotel.

Terrific service by everyone. Kyle went above and beyond to arrange a rental vehicle, could not have been an easier process. The stay was very pleasant for the short time we were there. Location was great for getting to the ferry to Coronado and for a morning run.

Great hotel and great staff. Would recommend this hotel for people to stay in. Good location not far away from the beach. Good breakfast and a great service. Staff friendly and helpful. Will definitely stay here again when I visit San Diego again. Just want to thank the staff for me. Hope I will see them all again.

Clean room and very friendly service. Great location between Gaslamp and Little Italy. We found a few alternative parking options in the area to avoid the expensive valet only option offered by the hotel. Breakfast was excellent in the lobby restaurant.

Valet parking at the front door. The check-in was so easy and seamless and the staff were so sweet! The hotel lobby is gorgeous, with a bunch of tables and booths to relax in. There's a bar in the lobby as well, and another bar on the rooftop.

The pool is a bit small, and no jacuzzi, but really it wasn't an issue. Both the pool and the fitness area are open 24 hours.

The elevator only allows you to input your floor level after swiping your room card, which feels nice and secure.

The room was beautiful, and there was a little morning nook that overlooked the San Diego skyline.

I stayed at the Hotel Republic while attending a conference at the San Diego Conference centre -- around a 20-min walk or a 5-min taxi journey away.

The greeting I received from the front desk staff was fantastic. Very warm and helpful.

There is a lovely reception area with complimentary refreshments for visitors, as well as a relaxing bar area.

My room itself was on the 17th floor with a city view, a comfortable and really big bed, plus a large-screen TV and a lovely cushioned area by the window to relax and look out over San Diego.

The hotel also has complimentary Wi-Fi which is strong, fast and reliable.

The location of the hotel is close to both the bay area and Little Italy, with plenty of restaurants and cafes nearby.

Overall, this hotel exceeded expectations. I'd definitely stay here again when I'm in San Diego!

Great Boutique Hotel in downtown Sam Diego. Location can t be better if you are a foodie. Little Italy is just a few blocks from this location . Great evening options. Hotel is very chic, staff is very professional. The only heads up would be parking is tough. They have valet as an option but it is expensive. Check out is noon which is an amazing plus but if you are coming in from the east coast and landing at 9:00, don t expect a room until that 3-4 check in time. We really enjoyed are stay! We booked to come back in October!

Liked this hotel. Great room and excellent staff. The one bad point is the elevators when it's busy. I gave up on them but some people waited more than 15 minutes. That really isn't good enough. The gym is simple but ok.

The hotel itself is super wonderful. Everything is beautiful and sparkly. Location wise, it's very convenient for doing anything in downtown San Diego. My only complaint is the hefty parking fee of $47, per night!! I'm not sure what other options there are for your car, so we had to pay it, but next time I'll be weary of booking this place if i have a car.

Came here for a night recently. The room was absolutely wonderful. We got a fantastic deal of less than $100 for the night and check out isn't until noon! The only quam I have is the shower doesn't have a door and does get the floor wet which I HATE!!! Also the fan in the bathroom was wayyy loud and the little sconse above the window seat woulndn't turn on. We also had to call the concierge because one of our remotes batteries died while we were there. Other than those small things everything was great.

The staff was super friendly and accomidating. We headed over to Karl Strauss for an appetizer and a beer. It was nice that it was so close. We were kind of taking it easy so we didn't do much "clubbing" in the lobby or at the beach but we did go up to the beach for a drink and stayed about 25 minutes or so that was enjoyable.

Love the window seat, we had fun with pillow fights with the fun ball shapped pillow. Also love the chalk board, it added a nice twist to the very clean and crisp room.

BTW Bed was SUPER comfy. Unfortunately didn't get to sleep in but I could have slept all day and not felt one bit guilty.

Nice hotel in the middle of downtown. Location is great and within walking distance of the harbour and many breweries and restaurants. Decent on site breakfast. The pitfalls are that there is no lounge and a small pool with no hot tub. The rooftop bar and pool are located on the second floor so there isn't a good view of the city- but the rooms themselves are nice.
