Decent looking hotel. Valet and food prices were overpriced for what this hotel is. You can tell they are trying to be a swanky hotel but the rooms just aren't at that quality. Overly soft pillows, broken window blinds, tv's from the mid 2000's, yellow tinted tile, lime crusted shower head and standard hotel toiletries just miss the mark.

Check-in was not smooth, there was such a long line. Service on the "roof"top bar was a solid 'meh'. Tequila selection was not bad and I appreciate the free waters in the guest lounge area on the second floor. Overnight valet is a bit steep for San Diego prices

Boutique hotel with great downtown location. Walking distance to many great sights and restaurants. The fitness center is nice but I was honestly expecting a bit more considering how new this hotel was. I really enjoyed access to a rowing machine though. There isn't a pool. The hotel is a brand new remodel, it has nice furnishings and the location is really hard to beat.

I stayed here during the I had a conference. Although the hotel feels dated, they do have many amenities found in newer hotels. For example, the fitness center has modern equipment and is maintained well. Unlike most Marriott from the Autograph collection, this one has a lounge for gold members. That is a huge plus for me. The staff was friendly and the hotel is inviting.

You could quickly forget that the Hotel Republic is a Marriott brand based on the smaller, more boutique appearance. It's just not the cookie cutter hotel you find in center of every city. The lobby looks like it was expertly designed by a top notch decorator. Every detail looks like it came from the pages of Architectural Digest.

The rooms are modern, clean and well appointed but not overstated. There is a bar on the first floor and an amazing outdoor bar with a firepit and plenty of seating in an relaxed upscale space on the second floor.

Every time I stay at a hotel for more than an overnight the attitude and interactions with the staff can result in a really great experience or turn into a reason not to come back. Sophia, one of the employees is so committed to ensuring you have the best experience possible it's almost overwhelming. Her personable, easy going nature makes you forget that you are a guest and feel like you are with family. It's people like her that make customers want come back again.

Traveled to San Diego for 7th wedding anniversary and Gabby, Miles and Sergio were excellent. They really went the extra mile to make our trip wonderful. The location is great and it's a beautiful hotel. I would stay in this hotel again and highly recommend it.

We went for Halloween with friends. We had a cabana on the rooftop. The server was good but we did not have access to all areas as v.i.p's. Security was extremely rude. it was definitely not worth the high dollar paid. We will not return.

The first room had a bad odor to it, but they gave us a new room without issue. It's not as nice as other 4 star hotels in the city but if you can get a room for a good price it is well worth it.

We had a fantastic experience. I let them know we were celebrating my husband's birthday and they took great care of us. Drinks at both Trade and Topside were fantastic and the food was good as well. My favorite were the al pastor buffalo pops. It was a great staycation?

Trendy hotel that came with a minifridge, complimentary water/tea/coffee. I loved that they didn't skimp on supplying the shampoo, conditioner and body gel. It was in a full size container for us located in the shower and not one of those travel sizes where you have to keep asking housekeeping for more. We booked a double thinking it would be queen sizes but the beds seemed a little smaller than a full size. Be mindful of this if you're sleeping two to a bed. Trendy entrance and decor. The biggest pitfall is the fact that it isn't very sound proof. I heard the pipes running at night and everytime a neighboring door slammed outside it was disturbing especially while you're trying to sleep. We were on the 8th floor. If you're a light sleeper you may have a difficult time staying asleep.

Beautiful view, in an open and large modern suite. The staff was courteous and attentive. Breakfast was delicious and freshly made. My only complaint is that the TV was not up to par with the rest of the hotel and the wifi was not complimentary.

We had a great experience! Clean modem rooms and decor, great location, and polite staff! We parked in the Columbia parking garage about 2 blocks away, $25 flat rate for 24 hours. Close and more affordable than parking at the hotel.

AWFUL!!!! I've stayed at many hotels over the years and for this to be the "W" is an embarassment to the Westin Hotel chain family! I will never stay at this hotel again nor recommend to my worst enemy! I mean where do I start....
First, the hotel is small and has limited accomodations. To just have 1 front desk person for a hotel size of 250 beds is ridiculous. The room was a complete and utter mess. The grade of carpet is worse than any cheap motel you would ever stay in. There were stains all over the carpet-red one's, yellow one's...pure nasty!! I can't believe they would charge this much for a room and have such sub-par materials. The cabinets were chipped and the paint was faded and cracked. I kid you not not. There were stains on the shower curtains, like they had never been washed. The bed looked like it had not been made up, but rather the sheets were just thrown over the mattress. I could go on and on, but I do have al ife, but I wanted to take this precious moment of my time to tell anyone who was considering staying at this particular W to run and save your money, absolutely not worth it!
One last note, parking is the pits-valet option of $30 per night or metered street parking. Not a safe part of downtown, the jailhouse is across the street, I was horrified walking to my car at night.

We had the best time. Hotel was great and had awesome interior decorations and everyone was amazing and helpful. They brought everything we needed or asked for quickly. There was a yoga mat in the room we could use for their free class but since I had plans already I didn't get to check out more of the hotel. Next time. Perfect location in the middle of downtown we even walked to and from the train station. The breakfast we had was amazing. I'm definitely going to go back as soon as I can.

What a lovely little hotel. My king room was spa is with a window seat good size bath and a very comfortable bed. The roof top patio is perfect for sitting out in the evening and enjoying a glass of wine. The wait staff from the front desk to the restaurants were kind and helpful. Centrally located in downtown it is easy to get to the waterfront, gaslamp district, little Italy etc. If you are looking for great views this hotel doesn't offer that. I was on the 8th floor maybe se of the higher floors do. Very comfortable cool hotel!

Overall a very nice hotel in between Little Italy and Gaslamp Quarter. Nice room and amenities. Front lounge area has a friendly, easy to hang out atmosphere. Second floor outdoor lounging area is very nice.

The hotel was small and there is only valet parking for $50 a night. There is no pool or Jacuzzi like the pictures suggested. Our room was $200 a night and didn t come with a tub like the pictures suggested it came with a shower that had a handle that that was inverted. There was no toothpaste in our room, we decided to get drinks and they were awful. The only pleasant experience I had was french fries I bought here.

Room was very nice with comfortable beds. Staff was superior and incredibly helpful, although at times could have used additional people at the front desk. The pool was small, open 24 hours, and "heated" but I thought it was very cold. We chose to park on the street due to the cost of using the hotel's parking, but did not encounter difficulty finding places, even with it being a holiday weekend.

The rooms were very nice. I loved the comfort of the bed and the pillows were lovely. The water pressure stinks and the doors close fast, hard, and loud. Overall it was very modern, the pool and gym is open 24 hours and the customer service is great. I did book my room far in advance and put in my card info, so I thought it had been paid for when I booked it, to my surprise, it hadn't. I would stay there again. This isn't my scene, but it isn't that close to the bars/clubs if you are wanting to visit those and walk back. It will be easier to uber if you've been drinking. On the other hand, not nearly as many homeless people near the hotel, like there are closer to the bars/clubs. It's close to little Italy and the water, which was great for our trip.

Contemporary hotel that boasts of very nice rooms, lobby beautified with modern displays, unique fixtures and a bonfire with such a great design in the roof top (on a roof but not the highest level of the hotel), activities such as gym, pool, air hockey. The front desk was nice and we had very minimal needs as we only stayed there overnight. The problem i have with this hotel is that they charge $45 for valet as they dont have a parking structure due to space issues in downtown san diego. But my biggest concern was that my usb flash drive and angels baseball tickets were taken from my car. The hotel as great as it was was immediately washed with that experience. I know it was my fault to leave it in the car and be trusting but nonetheless it should not have happened. Whats worse is when i called the hotel... The hotel says that the valet is a different company and not theirs. However as i look at my credit card statements it shows clearly that the valet charge is reflected under "renaissance san diego" i was then given the valet manager's name and contact info, number and email and reached out to them both through a phone call and email and not once did i hear back from them. Such a wonderful place but with that experience i am

The staff were very friendly. But I m not recommending this place.
1. No free WiFi.
2. No coffee machine.
3. $35 a day for outdoor parking.
4. Cockroaches!! We spotted a cockroach in our room :(
5. Leaking faucet making strange noise all night.
