Nice, clean rooms. Great bar with happy hour deals. Friendly and helpful staff. Four stars because no fridge or microwave.
Nice, clean rooms. Great bar with happy hour deals. Friendly and helpful staff. Four stars because no fridge or microwave.
Beautiful rooms and fantastic service. Not to mention there rooftop food. It was as good as most luxury restaurants.
Very good staff. Nice size rooms. Located close to Santa Fe Station. It is a short walk to Little Italy or the Gas Lamp District. They have a nice complimentary happy hour for leveled guest.
Hotel doesn't include free wifi, or breakfast. If you are looking for hotel with a bay view this is not it. They don't have any room facing the bay, instead you will get a nice view of the brick and mortar of the surrounding buildings which makes the rooms dark and gloomy. I felt depressed staying here.
The hotel is pretty and our room was comfortable. Unfortunately, the walls were paper thin and we could hear every thing our neighbors were saying in their room. They were up all night talking. It was a terrible night of sleep for us. I was really disappointed in our stay.
Good, clean hotel. About a 15 minute walk to the convention center.
Very nice room, shame that WiFi isn't included in the room prices.
Lovely hotel it was my first time in San Diego and this hotel has everything great service comfy beds and the staff was awesome one night the internet TV service wasn't working with Netflix and the technician came in less than 5 Min fixing the TV
The atmosphere of the hotel itself is nice and the shop assistants are nice and nice. The room is surprisingly large. There were a lot of USB cable places in the room (counting roughly 6 places), so there was no need for a transformer.
Wow, So I'm a #firstguest without planning it. They converted to Hotel Replublic from Renaissance Hotel, which used to be a W Hotel (according to staff). Great look and feel of it's new Autograph Collection status. Service is good and amenities match the status. Parking is valet only and a comparable to other hotels nearby at $45/day, with in and out privilegedes. Room Rates are reasonable at this time, but I predict they will increase dramatically in a few months. Written on 11/2017. Enjoy SD!
This hotel was a good value for the price. The staff is incredibly friendly, and the rooms are well done, and since it is recently relocated, they are in excellent shape. The location is fine-- short walk to the Embarcadero or to the Convention Center or Seaport Village, but it's near lots of courts and I think a jail. The water in the shower had a slightly sulfurous odor.
In some rooms, noise could be ridiculous because of the bar downstairs. Ask for higher floors
AC doesn't really cool you off, so keep that in kind of you are particular about that.
Great place. I wish it was more kid friendly and had better selection's on food.
Clean. Comfy. Plus they have smart TVs so you can watch Netflix. Good location. Would stay again.
Very clean. Nice decoration. Slightly priced but nice. Just need some live music at lobby during all nights.
Nice modern rooms, overall clean and comfortable rooms. Love the pillows!!
Stayed only one night and it was nice. The location is the reason I stayed. Didn t get my upgrade which is a bummer. Glad I didn t park a car here as it would cost more to park than the daily rental rate! Easy access to the gas lamp district and everything pretty much downtown.
Very nice hotel but they kicked us out of the outside patio to clean so I thought that was rude.
My room shared door with another room, which was not very comfortable. Also it was too noisy from outside. Not worthy a 4-star hotel.
Great location/room. Exceptional staff going above and beyond. Overall a fantastic experience.
Very comfortable and cozy place in the most beautiful part of downtown San Diego. I do have to say that I was disappointed by the parking rules and the fact that the hotel didn't have a personal parking area. But it takes nothing away from the actual experience. The staff is extremely kind and amazing as well.
Very nice hotel great staff. The room was very comfortable and we enjoyed our stay.
The bar looked nice...The bartenders were nice and personable. The biggest red flag was the amount of fruit flies around the bar. Nothing says dirty bar like a bunch of fruit flies hanging around the garnishes.
This hotel was nice, clean, accommodating. The room service seemed over priced even for this level of hotel. There was no concierge lounge, which is one of the perks of Renaissance usually .
Very boutique experience! Began with excellent service by Aubrey at Registration, who quickly overcame a hiccup to my reservation. Great for families or even a couples getaway. Highest Recommendation!
The hotel lobby is very nice. I just walked by and took a peak.
One of the guest in our party got possessed. Lost my items in the hotel, but stay was OK.
This hotel has good bones. The rooms are modern and clean, and I appreciate that the soap dispensers in the bathroom minimize waste. My only complaints are that my windows don't provide great sound isolation, the sheets are very thin, and they were out of blankets the two nights I have requested them.
Friendly staff and a good location right between little Italy and headlamp district. No lounge for elite members.
nice place, but parking is not available. It can be a hassle.
Excelente servicen, old biuldings but near to the fashion mall
If I could give a 0 I would. I am a Titanium Elite member, yet the way they failed/refused to address my concerns makes me wonder how they would treat non-elite members.
I stayed at this hotel recently for 5 nights. Late at night, we heard very loud noises, shouting and all, in the hallway and in what we thought might be the room next to us. (The morning after another guest from the floor above mentioned they heard the loud noises too). Trying to go to sleep, I finally called the front desk to ask the unruly guests to keep it down. I waited maybe 15 mins before I called again because nothing seemed to have been addressed.
I eventually fell asleep since it was late and I was really tired, and I had to wake up early. About an hour later at 12:30 AM, someone banged on our door and shouted "Security!" a few times, startling and waking me up. As I was trying to gain the strength to get up from my deep sleep, the door banging stopped. Then the phone rang. I picked it up and it was already hung up. Very disturbed of all the midnight sleep disruptions, done by hotel staff, I dialed the front desk to ask what was going on. No one answered.
The next morning I spoke to a manager, Josh, describing how I was not pleased that HOTEL STAFF caused late night disruptions, forget about the fact they never addressed the unruly guests promptly. I wanted to know why on earth would a hotel wake up its paying, ELITE guests in the middle of the night. He said he would get to the bottom of the issue. To me it seemed like poor communication between the front desk and security, perhaps they were confused who made the complaints and who misbehaved.
Later that day I received an email from Josh that was nothing but a sweep under the rug. It was the generic "we apologize for not handling well the complaints about the unruly guests" but ZERO mention about the security guard banging on my door or the phone ringing at 12:30 AM.
I asked him to address those two issues, which in my opinion is MUCH WORSE than the unruly guests. Disruptions caused by hotel staff, to me, is way more unacceptable than disruptions caused by other guests.
Josh never responded to me. This hotel staff is utterly incompetent, they refuse to take responsibility of their screw ups.
If I had gotten even just an apology and an admission that they screwed up, if they would only own up to their mistakes, I would have accepted it. But the fact they completely ignore the issues, and ignore my multiple inquiries, was just entirely unacceptable. This is Marriott. Not a 1-star motel on the side of a highway. If this is how they treat a Titanium Elite member, I feel bad for guests that have no status.
I will never stay at this hotel and I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. There are plenty other options in the area, especially nowadays. Go stay somewhere else.
Large clean rooms, very convenient location in downtown. Limited food choices and no place to buy water or snacks on site. Very friendly staff!
I was looking for somewhere to stay for a few days that had a gym and swimming pool. The gym just had treadmills and the pool was twice the size of my bath. That being said, the rooms were nice.
Attended a party at the rooftop. Slightly shabby. Good bar with friendly bartenders.
The rooms are really nice they just need some fixes and the rooftop bar needs some love but overall a really pretty hotel
This is by far the best hotel I have ever stayed in. For $200/night I felt like I was in a luxurious hotel. The best customer service I have ever experienced, great bar and entertainment, clean room...no complaints at all. I highly recommend.
I only had a short stay at the bar, but it was spacious, friendly, and full of great people!
Beautiful lobby, friendly staff, and an amazing rooftop bar.
Great customer service, amazing atmosphere and comfortable hotel quarters. Definitely a recommendation if you're looking to relax in the San Diego area.
This was by far the best Mother's Day for my wife & her sisters Family. What a great Brunch on the roof top live entertainment, great food, and endless mimosas, They treated all 8 of us like royalty.
We will definitely return & recommend..
Overall good experience here. The walls are paper thin and parking can be a hassle unless you don't mind $49 a night for valet. The rooftop bar is cool and the staff are all very helpful. I definitely recommend Hotel Republic!
Wonderful hotel, staff was extremely nice, and the hotel was very clean and comfortable. I would definitely stay here again.
Perfect location, right in between the gas lamp district and little Italy. Parking can be a bit of a pain unless you pay an arm and a leg for valet or don t mind parking in an open outdoor space. The closest parking garage we found was a few blocks away. The hotel room was very quiet. However, we had an issue with the water from both the shower and sink faucet smelling like sewage. The hotel was nice enough to put us in another room for the last night of our stay. The pillows that were used were all cotton filled instead of feathers so a little harder and cheaper than I expected. The hotel seems like it s trying to be fancy, but cuts some corners in areas. The staff was very friendly, almost too friendly but very nice. If I had the option, I would not stay here again. However it is a unique design and I appreciated the quietness of the room and the ability to rest.
Really nice hotel! Has lots of amenities and seems high class! One star taken away because I feel it is a bit overpriced for what the service is.
Rooftop dining area was well lit and had an amazing view of the city. Heat lamps were a nice addition for cooler nights.
Great bar and great service. Rooms are nice but not great.
It got 2 stars solely because of the lighting. The room and the halls had kind of a serial killer vibe because of that scarry movie lighting. It'd probably be a nice place of they used different light bulbs and didn't creep you out.
Good location if you're going to the CRSSD Music Festival. Some of the rooms required some upgrades, but the beds are pretty comfortable. I felt parking was expensive, so it might be better finding parking somewhere else.
This is a beautiful a modern hotel and everyone who works here takes a lot of care to make sure everyone enjoys their stay. The location is very close to downtown and a lot of restaurants. The hotel is just a little light on amenities. I also had the misfortune of visiting San Diego on a cold, rainy day, which might explain why there was a lot that wasn't up and running.
Issue with A/C in room first night front desk said someone would be by to fix it and never showed up waiting until 1130 and decided to just deal with it and goto bed. The next day they told us noone came to fix it and just swapped our room to another.
I stayed at the W Hotel during Memorial Day weekend and I was well pleased with my experience. I was not expecting absolute perfection upon arrival, so the minor flaws didn't bother me at all. I hated paying $39 for parking each night; More
Comfy conference room, delicious food provided, awesome service!
Despite Efforts from the staff at the reception desk to make up for some issues (room not ready despite announced check-in in late afternoon and furniture issues) the experience has been underwhelming and the general feeling is of an understaffed establishment with declining decor.
I stayed in this hotel overnight into Christmas. I was on the 5th floor which had a decent view. When you walk into the hotel initially, it has great decor and ambience. Checking in was a nightmare for me on my part coz i was coming from More
Room was clean and staff was very friendly. The only problem was that there was no lock to the bathroom.
