Great experience! Couldn't have asked for a nicer meal. $100 got us appetizers, cocktail drinks, a bottle of wine and meals with amazing service. Shares the parking lot with out hotel and overlooks the ocean. Inside ambiance was unbeatable.

Great food & service! Really good wine list, but i felt the prices were a bit steep. Maybe that's the price of the beautiful coastal views. Did i say the service was 1st class? It is!
Great service, excellent food, and an exceptional view. Don't forget to make reservation and ask for windows view. We got lucky to have our table within 10minutes.
The carnitas tacos are fantastic. Loved the service! We were lucky. Got there just after they opened and got a great table. It was packed with a long line when we left.
Brunch here Is wonderful, I love the bloody mary station, it was my first time trying one and i loved adding my own toppings. Fresh home made flour tortillas and waffles being made to order. Wonderful Lox bagels and shrimp!
Went there for dinner today and the experience was not pleasant . The girls at the host table told us that for a table for 2 we have to wait more than an hour . We understand that on a Friday night you should expect a wait time and we're prepared to wait too but the way they interacted with us and the tone of voice , no smile, no eye contact made us feel we are not welcome.
Easy to find just off the 101, the view is amazing. Carney Asada Nachos and the Steak Salad used the same Flank Steak, and they were terrific! It's a favorite stop when driving between SF Bay Area and Santa Barbara.
While traveling from the bay area, my husband and I stop here. At first we were disappointed with the front desk but our waiter Kiko was the best. What a great experience he provided. Thank you Kiko
Excellent claim chowder soup excellent services. We areive around 1/2 hour before they closed and they nicely greet us. You must have the Claim chowder. It was excellent. The claim was soft and tender. The ahi salad was great as well.
The view is phenomenal! That alone is worth the 5stars. Overall wonderful customer service and the food is amazing. I had the shrimp cocktail and Asada tacos. Highly recommended stopping here for lunch or dinner.
Again the view is awesome! My photos do not do justice.
Sunday brunch: The service was world-class and the food was prepared with fresh ingredients. All dishes were well-seasoned and delicious. They quickly replaced near empty pans on the buffet! The handmade tortillas were tender and cooked to perfection! The view here is remarkable. Great place for special occasions or just a regular Sunday. Value is Highly recommend.
My parents and I were extremely happy with the friendly service and the beautiful view of the beach :) The food was good, especially the sesame seared ahi salad!
Very good veggie enchaladas! That is pretty much the only thing you can eat here as a vegetarian, but it didn't dissapoint. The sunset was very pretty with a nice outside deck that had views of birds covering cliffs down below.
Adding to my review from a second visit. I was able to get a custom chimichanga with some black beans and rice inside to replace the meat. It was pretty tasty, so don't by shy to ask for accommodation if the dish doesn't list a veggie option.
Also the coconut mojito was really good. Totally smooth which could be dangerous if you keep ordering more :)
The view was amazing and the food delicious! Our waiter was extremely nice and unlike most restaurants our waiter asked if we were celebrating which we were celebrating my birthday. They brought me out a huge bowl of mud pie ice cream. It was that extra detail that put them over the top! I would definitely come back.
April waited on us and she was super friendly and very savvy on everything in the menu and bar. The food was fresh and tasty. Great atmosphere. I will definitely come again
Absolutely the best steamed clam appetizers ever! A very tasty broth that included poblano peppers and mushrooms. A seasoned slice of bread to soak up the broth; my only "complaint" is that they need to supply more bread for more dipping! Then we had carne asada and Alaskan halibut tacos. Their tortillas are hand made right there. The asada was cooked just right, nice and tender and fill of flavor. The haibut was a small fillet, not chunks. I'm a halibut snob and am telling you this was cooked perfectly. Nice sauce, shredded cabbage and three salsa choices; mild, medium and call for a flre engine. When you add in the spectacular view you've got a great place to eat! No need to look any farther in Pismo for a place to eat.
Our server was amazing and my Mimosa never went below half full. The food is usually great but today the pasta salad was not cooked the ALOT of the crab legs smelled like ammonia. Hoping this is just an anomaly.
UPDATE: We went again and everything was perfect. Yeah!
The service is terrible terrible terrible in this place!!! We wanted to try this place for the first time since we were staying at the hotel next door. We just wanted to have some wine and some appetizers and only our two year old was gonna eat dinner there. The hostess seated us in an area where basically only one table was occupied and the the place was basically not busy at all!!! The waiter came after we told him what we placed our order he told us that we need to go to the bar and get there since the two of us are not ordering entrees!!! This was the first time ever in a restaurant that we were treated ever like this! The waiter was totally rude and unfriendly! I would never recommend this horrible place to my friends and anyone else!
So yummiest. The quality of the ingredients are fresh, food is not greasy, service attentive and overall wonderful experience. Their papaya habeno salsa sauce that came with the ceviche is soooooooo good. We took the remainders home. View looks right out onto the beach. Price I thought was quite reasonable. The 4 of us had lunch and ate w/abandon (2 appetizers, 1 drink, 5 entrees), including a good tip=$150.
Terrific. Amazing view and tasty food. Had never visited this restaurant thinking that it might've been pricey. But everything is reasonably priced and very tasty. The view alone is worth a visit.
I had a really great lunch with my cousin we both ordered fish and chips. She requested halibut for her fish and they gave it to her it was wonderful I got the Cod was fabulous and fresh great lunch. Also comes with a side salad was very nice.
Went there for the play and dinner deal that they have with the slightly off Broadway theater group in Excelsior. That deal at ventana gives you a salad, choice from 4 entrees and a dessert along with the theater tickets.
The restaurant was busy when we arrived but we had reservations and they got us seated quite quickly. Drink orders were taken very fast, but after having the details of our package explained it took quite a long time to have our orders taken the waitress apologized and our food came quickly. We all ordered the Caesar Salad, and we were all disappointed. The salad came on a long skinny rectangle plate. Besides being pitifully small The dressing was on the side. Caesar salads in our tables opinion are best tossed, applying the dressing yourself at the table results in clumps of dressing that is less appealing. The house salads we saw looked much better. The main course offerings for he dinner and show package are very limited there are 5 choices 3 of which where variations of chicken and pasta. I don't really ever want pasta. the other 2 choices were a white fish and a smothered chicken. I chose that.
The chicken was smothered in mushrooms, onion and bacon with mashed potatoes. All very tasty, but just too small. the others in my party ordered one of the chicken and pasta meals those came with a choice of bread smothered chicken did not. The pasta filled their plates, the mashed potatoes where not even visible under the onions. Even with dessert that was great I was left hungry. I don't understand why some restaurants act like romaine lettuce and potatoes are the most expensive ingredients they have.
We celebrated our 46th wedding anniversary here. Wow! They treated us like VIPs even though we walked in without a reservation. We had the sea bass and LOVED IT! We love this place and highly recommend it to anyone.
Had a great lunch on our way back to L.A. Beautiful view, unique and delicious menu items and great staff/service. Our waitress was awesome and made excellent recommendations. We had the halibut ceviche, calimari, carne asada tacos and the plantains dessert. All were really well prepared, nicely presented and very flavorful. Would definitely go back.
This was our 2nd time in this restaurant. If you reach before the sunset then the view is amazing. Sitting is mostly sea side facing except the bar.
My order is as shown in the pictures: Coconut breeze Nachos vegetarian Fish and chips Ventana Mudpie
As a starter they serve tortilla with 3 different styles of salsa. Amazing to taste and perfect combo to start. Fish and chips are perfectly crispy and chips are one of the best I have ever eaten. Nachos comes in a huge plate so order carefully. Amazing to taste and too much cheese with beans and vegetables.
Ventana mudpie is recommended for dessert . The service is amazing and this restaurant is one of the best in town.
This is one of my favorite spots along the coast. I always stop here for lunch or dinner. Amazing views, great food and awesome staff. This place is very popular, so try reserving a table. I never reserved here but still got tables after 10-30 mins wait. They'll text you when your table is ready, so you can enjoy the view while you wait.
I am not going to lie the wings here are some of the best I have ever had in my entire life! And the jalapeno cocktail is 10/10 I really enjoyed everything this restraunt has to offer. The atmosphere is phenomenal and the prices are well worth the experience. Overall I must say one of my favorite restaurants!
Wonderful experience from beginning to end. Ashley was our server she made us feel so welcome. The food and view are fabulous. I'm a local and I will return
We absolutely loved this restaurant. Our server Kellie did an excellent job. Completely made us feel welcomed and really spent her time making sure we were happy. It was beautiful inside, very clean and the food was great. We will definitely be back!
Love this place! Make a reservation, and sit by the window. The view is outstanding! We had the crab encrusted Mahi Mahi. Delicious! Jeremy was our server and He was awesome!
sat down for a table and had our appetizers ordered and had an emergency come up so me and my wife had to leave, we got our food to go, when we unveiled our food later it was extremely old soggy salad and the portions were astronomically small!! extremely dissapointed. we felt like we got jipped cuz we had to order to go.
Nice view but terrible service! We came on a Monday afternoon, it was not busy time. They made us waited over 20 minutes for our table when there were 3 booth empty by the window. We saw no one come clean those tables for 15 mins. I don't know how the food is actually but the service turned me off already. We left ...
We had dinner there the other night (I've dined there about 1/2 dozen times). The best thing about Ventana Grill is the view, and the next best thing is their complimentary freshly made flour tortillas served with salsa served at the beginning of each meal. I had the "Asian style nachos" off the appetizer menu. It was tasty, except the won ton chips were a bit too greasy, and I would've liked more of the other ingredients, particularly seaweed salad. Also, I don't know if the online menu has changed compared to the current menu, but online it says guacamole and cilantro were part of the dish, but there wasn't either on mine. My dining companion ordered the veggie enchiladas. They were ok, but the mole sauce was too salty. The cocktails were just ok and too expensive. This was by far my worst experience (food only; the service was actually good) dining experience at Ventana Grill. I remember enjoying other meals there much more. I'm not sure if it has gone downhill, or if we just happened to order two weak menu items. I think I'll still give it another chance just in case this was an odd experience (I hope so!).
The clam chowder is really good. I love the view... You can request to sit at a window table and enjoy the view while you dine. After food check out the surrounding too.
