I would wager this is the best view in the area and while the food is wonderful you are paying for the ambiance. It delivers that in spades. Everything in the place is lovely and I don't think any seat in the place is the bad seat. I had an internal table and still loved the views.

I also love that the Sunday brunch came with everything including mimosa's for no extra expense. It was $45 a person with tax, but no extra expense. Huge selection of food and I loved everything I tried.

Good service, and super pretty overlook. Cocktails were tasty also.

Sunday Brunch. Chilli Verde, 3 bowls polished and several homemade tortillas. Plus fresh lobster, crab and Bloody bar!!

We went here for our anniversary and the power went out right as our food came out. Not only did we have 10 mins to eat in the dark and get out but we had to pay full price for a meal we couldn t enjoy or finish

Had a great experience. The restaurant sits on a cliff overlooking the ocean and is a great spot for a perfect sunset. They boast a variety of exotic Margaritas that were excellent. While it was a long wait for a table on a Friday night, the bar and bartender made it seem fast with the help of a couple of awesome appetizers (nachos and an unusual but delicious presentation of a shrimp cocktail). Staff was excellent and the main course was outstanding (scallops/shrimp and ribeye). Would definitely return to this fine establishment.

I chose to bring my in-laws here for dinner during their Christmas holiday. And it was a great experience. All the guests in my party ordered something different, and everyone raved about their meal. The salmon I ordered was perfectly prepared and well appointed. And the ocean views were spectacular. Special thanks to manager Bill and our server, Nick, who was extremely knowledgeable and fun.

We had a terrific lunch at the Ventana Grill. Do have the calimari appetizer. It is huge and hugely out of this world delicious. And so is the view!!!

The tortillas are hand made... The shrimp cocktail is indescribably good. Only one way to appreciate it.

I was there in the evening, just before 9pm. You shouldn't order a starter anymore, because everything will come at the same time.

Otherwise a very nice place with a very pleasant atmosphere. There is a great view of the sea.

The staff is friendly and takes care of the guests.

Mainly marine animals, with a focus on fish. I was able to try two starters and two main courses. In terms of taste, everything has a Mexican touch, so it's a bit spicy. If that doesn't bother you, you'll enjoy this other Mexican cuisine very much.

There are some California wines, but my choice of a white wine was a mistake. It goes under along with the sharpness.

This is one of my top three favorite restaurants: #1 Republique (Beverly Hills) #2 Eight Tables by George Chen (San Francisco) #3 RN 74 (San Francisco, but it closed) & now Ventana Grill (Pismo Beach). Instead of serving you chips for your salsa, you get home made tortillas (corn and flour) with cinnamon butter and 3 different salsas. OMG- this was surprisingly delicious. My sister ordered the nachos- it was good, not anything different from other nachos I've had. She enjoyed her rib eye. We both really loved the clam chowder. The best I have ever tasted (better than San Francisco clam chowder). I ordered with no regret the Steak and Shrimp Molcajete which is a soup with chorizo, poblano peppers, skewered shrimp, flank steak, avocado slices, and full green onion bulbs. The flavor of the thick broth dances in your mouth. Don't let the bowl size fool you, this can be shared between 2 people. I can't wait to bring my family here. Although it is an upscale restaurant, casual attire is fine.

We decide to try the Ventana Grill in view of the reviews.
Home super pro and smiling as always in the USA. We could take lessons in France.
Nice and relaxed atmosphere at the bar. A bloody mary who's crazy!
Excellent spicy meal very rich. Impeccable and considerate service.
Addition (65 USD) justified by the quality and the site with a view that must be beautiful on a clear day.
To recommend !!!

Had ceviche and pasta with a glass of Malbec nice service, great view, make a reservation if you want to seat by the window

What a great place to eat with a wonderful view! Clam chowder was so delicious, Splash cafe doesn't even come close. Ventana burgers were so delicious the kids couldn't stop saying it.

View 5 star, food quality eh OK no complains but you are there for the view.

Absolutely gorgeous view, delicious food and great variety. The manager Bill White went above and beyond to make my wife's birthday great with a perfect seat. The staff are great and the service was excellent!

Booking would be good, especially since in the evening well attended, had to wait a bit. But it has a bar, time passes quickly.

Don't know how to score this because we didn't actually get to eat here, but it was a negative experience. We got on the list for a seat on Sunday for lunch. After 20 minutes, we were on our way to be seated when we discovered they were only serving brunch buffet. We're not fans...and either were the ladies waiting just ahead of us. We can't eat enough to make it worth our money. We all (8) left. They need more choice like off the menu items in addition to the buffet perhaps. Or at the very least the buffet should have been plainly posted or announced by the hostess when getting on the list.

Great food!! Never disappointed with the cuisine! Best views on the central coast. Unhappy that the blinds were drawn as we attempted to watch the sun set while we ate. If people don't want the sunset in their eyes they need to be seated elsewhere. Otherwise, excellent in every way. Definitely go!

Friendly waiter, but the food was rather bland. We got the ceviche, calamari, and mahi mahi. None stood out in flavor

Clam chowder and El Jefe margarita are very delicious way to start your lunch. Always end my meals here with the mud pie. Oh don't forget to try the Coconut mojito you wont be disappointed. The service is always pretty good.

I was at this restaurant weeks ago. Love the view plus the service. If you stop by for lunch , try out their clamp chowder

Needed a moms day away and took advantage of an open bar seat looking over the cliff onto the ocean. The views were just beautiful and off in the distance there were even whales! Service was very good and the food was outstanding! Best Asian Nachos ever. The perfect amount of Ahi Tuna and everything else. Highly recommend.

Social distancing/masks in effect. Friendly staff. Had lunch: the Clam Chowder was great. The Mahi Mahi sandwich was disappointing. No seasoning, very lightly grilled, aoli sauce was OK.

Ventana Grill is all around great! I've been twice and will be returning without question.

The lobster macaroni and cheese is delicious. The ceviche is fresh and refreshing. Chicken mole is really good, and it was filling!

Give some of their drinks a try too. The "Smoke on the Water" was a fun take on a margarita with black salt on the rim.

Anyhow, you should eat here. Also, try to make a reservation if you can.

The best thing on there menu is the shrimp cocktail.

Went there for a wedding and I can say I was very please with Ventana Grill. Looking forward to my next visit.

Visited on 3/7/19 during lunch for a birthday celebration. Food was delicious. Server was helpful and friendly.

Food selection is great service was very good. Had waiter pretty much to our selves. Only snag it was a cool day with a breeze. Only outdoor seating

I stayed at the Shore Cliff Hotel for dinner here.
It s delicious from the past. This day was a set of tortilla skin and dip.
I ordered seafood tomato pasta and squid rings, but I was full! Pasta is around shrimp, crab and mussels.

Great volume as the hotel told me!
Even if I went there alone, I could n t eat it and brought it home and the next day I had a delicious snack on the drive.

The service was also pleasant. It was a conscientious price, and if you go to the hotel, this and the set are recommended!

Love this place if you don't mind spending a few extra dollars. Trust me it's worth it. Their carne asada nachos are amazing and enough for 3 hungry people. They also have the best fish and chips in the area along with sweet homemade tortillas.

Evidentially the owners bought a home is Costa Rica and brought back the food they loved. I haven t been there myself but the food they make is always well made and tasty -just don t expect standard Mexican fare as it s not. Great bartenders as well.

Easily the best dining experience I've had. The waitress was friendly, helpful, and even talkative. The food was absolutely superb, came in very generous portions, and was plated absolutely gorgeously. There was also an equally gorgeous view to match.
My only recommendation? Make a reservation!

Unbelievable views of the Pacific ocean. The restaurant is perched in the edge of a bluff so this amazing view is unabstructed. Large event room is available for group events. This is also a location of a local wonder. The spiral staircase to nowhere, must see!

My family and I ordered for pick up dinner. When we arrived the person didn't put the order in due to transferring me to order adult beverages. We were then hung up on. We arrived to pick up order and not ready, had to reorder and wait an additional 15 min and the order wasn't correct for what I paid for.

Creative, delicious food, good wine selection, and attentive staff. The atmosphere was fun yet intimate; the view stunning. Get your reservations several days in advance!
