Ventana Grill Events Team Review

2nd time here, as we are locals here in shell beach. Food is good. Not your typical "grill " . This food is on the fancy side though most dining here are dressed pretty casually. We came for wedding anniversary. Large array of a drink menu. One pet peeve though..We ordered quesadillas as appetizer..offered lime tequila Shrimp as a side and was charged 3.00 extra on the bill. But the appetizer came WITHOUT SHRIMP ON THE SIDE. lol. Our server Brandy was great! We ordered Ventana burger entree and large shrimp entree. Like I said, very fancy. Views of the ocean are awesome!

Excellent cuisine, excellent wait staff, excellent unobstructed ocean panoramic view.

Great food..but let's talk about the view! Beautiful view from almost all the seats, but the window seats are the place to be...romantic date ? Yup, this is the spot.

Great view. Good food and service. BEST CLAM CHOWDER EVER!!! Don't miss it. Lobster mac-n-cheese is also really good.
Reservations recommended but not required.

Perfect California setting. I booked this place for the sunset view, but got so much more. Our table was ready at our reservation time, but we were early so we sat at the bar. Great bartender very friendly and I had a wonderful Manhattan. When we were seated at our table our server greeted us and took our appetizer order. While we waited for the appetizer the server invited us to enjoy the deck area for photos of the amazing view and sunset. Once back to our table our appetizer arrived which was lobster mac and cheese stuffed pepper, which was excellent. We ordered our entrees both of our meals were very good. We enjoyed the leisurely dining, no rushed feeling. Our server made us feel very comfortable. I would highly recommend this place, not just for the view but for the entire experience.

Definitely worth the visit for the brunch and the view.

Food is great. Service needs work. Communication and training would go far. A simple " someone will be right with you" would have helped alleviate the feeling that we were being completely ignored.
A female server passed by the table no less than 3 times without so much as a look or nod, and finally stopped to ask if we had been helped. Then she informed us she would be our server and bartender. She took our order and that was the very last we heard from her in spite of her passing back and forth in front of our table multiple times. Another person served our food. But we did not have any idea that he was now our server. This lack of communication made for a very unpleasant experience. I would be disinclined to return in spite of the great food. Service makes the moment.

The food was great, but you pay that ocean view price. We waited for half an hour before being seated even though half the restaurant was empty. We didn't get our food until after closing time, so I am only assuming those tables weren't reserved, and there was really no reason for the wait.

Food is very nice, fast service, seems to be always busy, great views of the sea and cliffs.

I forgot how much i appreciated really good service. I can't remember the last time our server knew the menu, understood dining, how to upsell without being annoying, etc... By far the best experience i've had in a while service wise. We ordered some of the cheaper fair that night which wasn't great but it was fresh tasting. The views were amazing. My wife and I won't soon forget this place. GET the plantains for dessert!! Even though our food wasn't as good as the service, i'll still give it a 5 star because I have a feeling if we had ordered some of the more expensive food it would have been great.

Amazing ocean views and food. Love the free home made tortillas and salsas. Seafood pasta is great.

Went to a wedding at Vantana. Perfect venue. Beautiful room with ocean view, bar, dance floor and fabulous food. Highly recommend it.

Reception my husband and I attended was wonderful. Waitstaff were all completely polite and all smiles. Love the ocean view and to be able to step out and stand at the ocean look out.

We just finished dinner here. Decided to go here as it's close to our hotel and had good reviews. I don't know what people see in this place except the restaurant itself. It's beautiful & on the water. The food was disappointing. We had to cover the fish and vegetables with the rice, beans, and salsa in order for it to have ANY flavor. I cook the majority of my family's meals so going out to eat is a treat. This was NOT a treat. The only good thing is that I'm no longer hungry. Sad!

Best Shrimp in the west coast, I love this place, great atmosphere .

Made reservations for the afternoon. It s the first time there and don t see myself going again. The place and location is beautiful and the waiter was great. Food was okay and prices were fair. Only problem was when I walked in for my reservation to have dinner for my first year anniversary with my lady, 3 waiters at the front desk completely ignored us. We walked close to the counter and didn t get any attention so we had to go in front of them and let them know we had a reservation. 2 of the 3 kept chatting it up and the other just said okay and ignored us for a second. When she decided to do her job she then took us to our table and that was it. Terrible start but the rest of the experience was great. Waiter was on top of things so I applaud him for his effort. I ll update the review on a second visit if, and I doubt it, I ever decide to give it a second shot.

Loved the food. Loved the staff. Loved the view. Check out the dozens of birds (whose name escapes me) just a quick 30 second walk south of the restaurant out on the pergola.

Good food and beautiful sunsets! Their fish is always a good option. On this visit, I got the pork chop and it was cooked perfectly.

This restaurant has amazing views overlooking the ocean. We were promptly seated. Both our appetizers and entrees were delicious. First time to go to Ventana Grill and we were impressed by the service. the food and of course the views. Definitely add it to your must try restaurants.

Food and ambience incredible! One of my favorite restaurants of all time! Brandi was exceptional with service and knowledge of specials and menu!

Great service, food was okay. I was expecting better food from recommendations, which might be why I found it just okay.

I have been here over 30 times or more. I just love this restaurant, I love their menu and I would say that the Seabass is the best you could ever have anywhere in the world!!

This also is a great place to have a birthday party, or an event which they have an event room underneath the restaurant.

I only wish you guys could deliver to Texas!! Since my relocation I have missed this place, really hoping it will be open when I go visit California!

Been here for dinner once and Thanksgiving brunch, both have been among the best dining experiences of my life. Fantastic food, incredibly friendly service, amazing atmosphere, beautiful view, all around perfect.

First time experience here. The staff are really friendly and the food was amazing! Outside dinning during this covid thing but the view was amazing! Will come back next time we visit Pismo.

Sunday brunch was most disappointing and clearly did not meet expectations based on previous weekday visits to this restaurant. Food offerings were mostly lukewarm, roast beef was more than well done, and actual menu was generally limited and not particularly appealing.

Usually give this place a 5 star. Was off today. Chowder too thick and not hot enough. Salad had too much seasoning and dressing and not as many scallops as usual, plus they used small 'bay' scallops instead of big juicy ones i usually get. Service was great however. Cant beat the view

Had their Ahi Tuna Salad, it was unbelievably fresh and delish!

Enjoyed a delectable variety of entree choices and spectacular views with visiting friends. Great service and constant good food. Great Happy hour.

This place is amazing. I've gone several times always with different people and I've never had anything but an amazing experience. Definitely 5 stars...its a well oiled machine. I always look forward to getting to go! The view, the staff, the food. Always awesome!

This place is breathtaking! The Chowder is excellent.

Service was excellent, including the random visit from the manager. This is not something I typically get when dining alone, however, my server and the rest of the staff really showed their strengths in being very attentive and friendly. Food was extremely fresh and delicious. The view, well, the view was divine!

Seems pricey but the food and drinks are great, worth the wait and price.

It is the best brunch spot. Unlimited mimosas and Bloody Marys, crab, shrimp, omelettes, homemade tortillas and my favorite, churro style French toast. Not at all bad for the price. The view puts it over the top.

Waitress was awesome. Food was very good. Best fish and chips. Peaceful with full ocean view. Prices are very reasonable.

I took my wife here for our one year anniversary. Made a reservation a few weeks prior and requested a table with the best ocean view. They delivered and with no problems. I forget what we had but everything was very good and the service was great. Good margaritas! Thank you to all the servers who work hard and know how to do their jobs.

Best clam chowder in the area, hands down. So meaty and delicious. Everything on the menu is awesome, I always end up getting something different and everything has always been excellent. We go back frequently.

Indeed the food was good and the place is good, however service needs some improvement. Before we paid the bill, the waitress was on point, yet once we paid, we decided to stay for nice talk after dinner. The waitress never came back and didn't really ask if we need water. We were completely ignored. I'm not asking for someone to wipe my mouth after dinner but really!!! They were not even busy. If food was not good I would rate 2 stars. Good luck.

Hands down best steamed clam appetizer, EVER! Mind you we live in Santa Barbara, which teems with loads of choices , and my recommendation still stands. We we're on our way home from Monterey where we ate some delicious fish and clams; vote still stands. This one comes with a delicious broth flavored with poblano chiles, etc. A generous slice of seasoned bread on the side (really needed more of the bread to soak up more of the broth)!

Then we had tacos (my wife had carne asada and i ordered Alaskan halibut). Another home run! They make their own tortillas right there. The asada was cooked just right, not over. The halibut was a small fillet in each tortilla, not chunks, covered with a great sauce and shredded cabbage with goat cheese. And you get to enjoy this while looking out the windows overlooking the Pacific. Highly recommended; most certainly will seek it out next time through. Frankly wouldn't think of going anywhere else in Pismo.

Hands down the best breakfast buffet in the Central Coast. An outstanding variety of traditional breakfast foods, seafood, salads, excellent Mexican specialties, desserts. Also, a carving station, made-to-order omelettes, fresh handmade tortillas, bottomless mimosas and a bloody mary bar, not to mention really good coffee.

Add to this, friendly, excellent service, live music, and panoramic views of the Pacific. Look for whales, dolphins, and otters or just watch seabirds floating over the rolling surf.

Best fish and chips in Pismo Beach, we have tried many other places. Yet their fish tacos and fish and chips are so yummy. Also, their selection of mixed drinks are really good as well!

Well made sopa aztec, rich and spicy. Most amazing ice berg wedge salad, a real treat. Great food and friendly staff. We used their take out option.Thanks for being covid safe!

Such great ocean views from here! I love sitting outside or along the window and watching the ocean from here! There's always birds and sometimes there is other wildlife like whales and dolphins!
