Very mixed emotions are how to review. Initially used VelaPoint in the summer to sign up for short term coverage due to a job change/loss of insurance. In the beginning, the agent who spoke to me was helpful, but it ended at that phone call. Even though he offered to help if we had any questions or concerns regarding our new insurance policy, it was simply IMPOSSIBLE to get ahold of him. Two weeks straight of no returned phone calls, no return emails, etc. Some details regarding or policy were not explained properly in our eyes, and we are still being affected by it currently even though our policy is no longer in effect. I was passed around from person to person, and the customer service ladies helped to the best of their ability but were not able to answer my question(s) because it was the agent himself who I needed to speak with. Such POOR follow up.
We had to reinstate our short term medical and go with another temporary policy until open enrollment for 2019...and another agent helped me. At the end of the call, I cordially asked him... If I have an actual question, will you actually return an email or call, because my past experience was not a good one.. He assured me we wouldn t have an issue if so, and was helpful during that call. In the future I m not sure I d use VelaPoint moving forward.
