The food was fulfilling and it was quite good.

The bureaucracy of customs officers is prevalent. It took nearly two hours to enter the customs. The distribution of the electronic customs clearance system was unreasonable, and a large number of service personnel shouted their throats. During the peak period of customs clearance, only two customs officials were working.
Nice airport with complete range of transportation from and to the city. I arrived directly from Hongkong International Airport and the immigration process was smooth, no waiting. The interior design of the airport resembles much of the native people. Rental car can be founded easily in the parking building first floor. Also on your way out to the metro station/ parking building, you will see the only Japanese hotdog stall.
Only one thing. A lot of times we have to wait for the people at the gate to show up. What s up with that?. The gate is empty but ther is nobody there working. The plane is just waiting and waiting. That s usually when we come from the USA. I get it if the gate is occupied but is not.
There are many stores in the airport. Immigration was done by machine. There is a jellyfish tank, stylish
I landed here at YVR Airport, I have gone through entire immigration process which is very well layed out and Organized.
Wonderful Airport with scenic Mountain views and Pacific ocean view on landing.
Eco friendly no artificial lighting.
Beautiful wood/log art every where.
Beautiful waterfalls inside Airport.
Immigration is easy everyone is so helpful...
Automated KIOSKs are available to reduce work load for immigration officers the procedures are easy.
Drinking a coffee next to C49 in a public eating / drinking area but the floors are disgusting and look like they haven't been cleaned for a long time :-( Please see attached photos.
Extra star for all the nice carvings and displays etc. But I'd rather have no or fewer carvings and a clean floor!
Only a few fast food restaurants available. Wifi for free is a plus. But limited access to electric outlets.
Came here on a connection to Los Angeles on Air Canada. Arrived here from Calgary. Besides from some of the long lineups the airport has great food options to offer, and has also got convenient signs to help navigate you through the terminal. Also has excellent views of the downtown. Nice experience overall.
Probably the worst first world airport I've ever been too. Slow security for both arrival and departure, terrible lounges, poor choice of shops and restaurants that close early and don't even sell electrical, quiet areas dominated by airport staff watching films on loudspeakers, slow WiFi, dirty malfunctioning toilets, uncomfortable seats. I could go on but I have a flight to catch, oh wait, its delayed.
YVR is one of the more beautiful airports around. There is stunning artwork all over the airport that brings a visual pleasure to the eyes.
It is also a well run airport with people being guided and processed through in a timely and efficient manner. Drop offs and pick ups are simple enough here as well.
Inside, there is plenty of decent shopping and restaurants to pass the time between flights. There is a wide range of gifts from the standard boxes of chocolate to the more unique and even upscale.
It is strange to not see it as busy as it normally is but it will return after Covid19 dissipates.
Very peculiar airport, full of decorations that honor the first people of the region before the arrival of the British. Comfortable environment.
Very clean and modern airport. Very easy to navigate.
Airport is so small and dirty
Washroom smell really bad.
I WENT TO THE AIR CANADA SELF CHECK IN KIOSK, AND WAS HAVING TROUBLE SCANNING THE BARCODE OFF MY PHONE. WITHIN A MINUTE, AN AIR CANADA WORKER WAS THERE TO HELP!
Very very good airport, free luggage carts for you, it is very important for every traveller
Really awesome airport. You can find everything you need. Parking is too expensive.
Lovely airport with a larger variety of stores and food options. If I had to be stranded in an airport due to a delayed flight, I could do a lot worse then YVR
Was treated very courteous when i arrived to Canada. Thank you
Very simply airport. There is a train station connecting the airport which is nice.
Spacious and not very busy when I flew out on a Saturday night. On arrival a few days before, there were plenty of automated desks to process immigration meaning that delay was minimal, however there was a further 30 or more minutes to wait for luggage to reach the carousel, not really good enough these days especially late at night
Fantastic airport. There's a reason YVR is consistently ranked highest in north america. Always a great experience
Nice and clean, big but still amazingly organized. You have Skytrain from every important corner of Vancouver so you can easily reach the airport.
What kind of wonderful setting must I pass by all duty-free shops to return to China?
Gave this a three because the free wifi was really fast. The food court selection and duty free could be better, also the music in the food court is really loud and annoying. Average airport in my opinion not bad not great.
This airport is very comfortable.
There are good options to eat.
Cambio exchange store.
Car rental.
My flight departured in the exact time, without delay.
You don't have to listen to me or others here. YVR has been voted the best North American airport by many people multiple times consistently. There is everything you need inside the airport. Wifi is great; you have charging stations almost everywhere; almost all kinds of eating spots - from fast-food to fancy restaurants; washrooms within small distances; there are places for kids to play; for you to watch flight take-offs and landings. You can easily spend up to 24 hours in the airport without getting bored at all.
Kiosks have Korean and are easy to get in. Airport parking The parking fee is very expensive. $ 5 for 30 minutes ;;;
I have to say Inder and Paul offered great customer service today.
Paul was so nice and helpful. He wheeled my 90 year old grandma to the Air Canada desk. Super polite and helpful!
Thanks Paul....
Roger
It's great if you like waiting 1+ hours for baggage claim every single time you arrive at YVR. Horrible baggage management. On top of that, if you're not Canadian you will be waiting over an hour for immigration, and if you are Canadian you get to find your way through a maze of badly placed Passport-checking kiosks and then back out to the end of the line once you get your ticket. The airport itself is beautiful, and if you are departing I would give it 4+ stars, but arriving at YVR is a nightmare.
The staffs are very helpful and the nicest airport I have come across.
Beautiful, people are polite and kind even at midnight. The architecture is amazing I didn't feel I was in an airport at all. It's the best airport I have ever seen.
You find all kinds of souvenirs, also very nice to wait for the flight
In the past 30 years of use, there have been dozens of entrances and exits to this airport, and I feel that it has been improving and changing. Art decoration feels better than Toronto International Airport.
Clean, newly renovated, and welcoming. One of my favourite airports.
Always my favorite airport, and not just because it's 10 mins from my home. Clean, efficient, fast free wifi. I also very much enjoy the waterfalls and native Canadian installations when I come back from abroad.
A place where you can reunite with your immigrant family and relatives!
My younger brother, who I met after a long time, was fluent in English and seemed strong
Great staffs, friendly service and great atmosphere to be in
The connecton from US to Japan has nice shopping opportunities and coming back from Japan to US is a comfortable transition and easy US customs. They break up the different check into multiple steps with staff guiding you down correct halls (in English though), so any one check is not long. Most staff are friendly and congenial. Airport is still new and clean. ( -)
Brings back ma memory when i first came to canada. One and only the best airport for me
I've always thought that this airport was nice. Well-maintained and operated, short enough lines, lovely artwork and decorations - jelly fish aquarium, aboriginal artwork, etc. Quite nice that it's connected to the SkyTrain. There's also a semi-secret viewing platform with free telescopes near the Whitespot! Unfortunately, some parts are beginning to feel quite outdated and in-need of renovation.
I can easily see why YVR is rated the best airport. It's how all airports should be designed.
I love that they don't blast their TVs like US airports.
During COVID it's safe to travel. The airport is very well maintained and the staff is very friendly and everyone is taking precautions with masks and gloves along with hand sanitizer everywhere.
Well organized airport. The border crossing and the associated immigration was very well implemented technically and minimized in the amount of people extremely the otherwise likely waiting time. Certainly some of this can be taken as a model for other airports.
Stopped through on an international flight, typical airport
Metro available to the airport so you can skip taxis (especially since Uber isn't available). Only bad thing is huge queues for immigration. g
This airport has an excellent view but the food options are limited in the domestic terminal so I would recommend eating before you pass through security.
I use it for Canadian skiing. Although it is an airport that has many passengers as the front door of Canada, immigration is mechanized and you just have to go through Border Xpres!
I've been in many airports all over the world and YVR has the dirtiest bathrooms I've ever been in. Taipei and Denpasar were some of the cleanest.
Not the greatest place, very rude employees. I was stuck there overnight due to Air Canada's computer system outage. Almost all of the seats were taken by people laying down, it was late and everyone was tired. I found 2 lawn chairs that were set up and sat down in them, a very rude employee told me that I needed to leave because those chairs were only there to be photographed. I reminded him that it was in fact 1 in the morning and there was very little interest from anyone to take pictures in a dark airport, that didn't matter to him at all. He forced us to leave the only open seat left in the airport.
Getting luggage might take longer then your actuall flight...
The airport screening staff began screaming repeatedly at the elderly and slower people in the line to pick up their trays and place them on the conveyor belt for X-ray screening. They were by far the rudest staff I have encountered. I was actually stunned by how little respect they treated each client and how they treated everyone without any dignity.
Kind and helpful stafff, clean nice infrastructure. Great place to meet & apart from our loved ones to meet again. This place has special place in my heart
Easy to get around. Lots of shopping and actually good place to eat.
International flights are a gong-show. For more, see my post
wish I had layovers here instead of YYZ. my home airport. beautiful, chill, lots of places to relax. different services, easy to navigate.
Toronto Pearson needs to learn from YVR
It is clear where to go. The signs are very clear on telling you where to go.
Some Chinese staff at the message counter can provide Chinese language services, and you can take a free ride to the mall from Airport Express.
Every friendly staff, the maple leaf lounge is very beautiful with free wifi and a very good view of the airport, international gates, and free food and drinks e.t.c. What a lovely airport
This review might be a tad biased because I live in Vancouver, but whatever. The airport is very clean and there s tons of shops to occupy your time while you wait for your flight. The staff are great and have a sense of humour (even though you shouldn t joke around the security staff, since they re serious). Every time I come here, there s new art, new installations. Overall, I believe it s a nice welcome to Vancouver for traveling folks.
One of your security pass member is an absolute lunatic and he shouted at me for no reason.
Domestic arrivals is very cramped sometimes however the airport itself is very clean and presentable. This also includes friendly staff, good shopping opportunities, good access to public transport and an excellent info desk including free maps, leaflets, vouchers and more.
Huge airport that was able to handle all the people in a very organized way. We got through rather quickly and on to the hotel. Nice artwork to keep you entertained. Getting a cab was the most difficult part of the day and the cost to downtown was rather high. Remember to check the exchange rate for US dollars
Air Canada is the worst airline ever. I do agree with other people who said the same. Air Canada has the worst customer service. I heard it from Air Canada staff myself: "we are union members and they cannot touch us, why should we put up with passngers B&^%% Shi&&^%, they cannot fire us so why we have waste our time for crazy and demanding customers"!!!!
As a local, I'm always happy to know that when I return home from a long trip, I get to fly into my favourite airport. Beautifully redesigned nearly a decade ago, and still feels luxurious. Short-Term Parking can be busy sometimes, but I've never driven around for longer than 5min looking for a spot. Pickup and dropoffs never feel too rushed.
Quite an efficient airport. It's not overly big making getting around less of a hassle. The staff can vary from very helpful and friendly to rude, uncaring and unwilling to help
