Worst international airport ever. I was transfer at Vancouver from Ottawa to San Francisco. My flight was 13 mins earlier and I had 1 hour and 40mins to connect to my next flight. However the safety check only open two gates for about 70 travelers. And I kept telling the airport staffs that my flight would be leaving within 30mins. The answers were same "Sorry. It's U.S. Custom". I was not the only one who was late for the flight. But the following experience was even worse. Since I missed the flight, and sadly it's my first time missing flight, I kept asking different staffs. All I got were " sorry, I don't know neither," or "You should call the security", or "I'm busy go ask the guy over there". After calling the customer center, Canada boarder, which hang out my phone after I told them my situation without any explains, and four or five staffs. I gave up and waiting for my flight carrier. An hour later the westjet staff helped me go back to the check-in spot and I was rescheduled the next available flight. By this point the time was 3.30pm and I arrived at 11.17am. I thought everything would be alright after all theses "Impressive" experience. However, again at the safety check line, I was asked to take out the liquids from my make-up bag. For all the flights I have had, I swear this was definitely first time that I already prepared a makeup bag to take out for safety check but I have to pick out all the expensive ones into a special plastic bag for check. I mean I had a one liter plastic bag prepared for checking why I have to pick out from it. I'm wondering if I brought some expensive skin cares and they couldn't fit into the tiny bag given by Vancouver airport staff, so my skin cares may end up into the staff's pocket freely? I have pass the U.S. airports checking with the same bag as well as Toronto and Ottawa airport for couple times. But at Vancouver airport, wow, so "Strict". The lady behind me said to me "All around the world, this is first time". This is my first time at Vancouver airport and I'm pretty sure this will my last time as well.
