A very different experience we could gain at the Vancouver international airport. They are More in to the nature, which is well appreciated.

Actually staff is very good but ammenities are not good the charger point made for only Canadian point of view washroom are so flithy
A clean and efficient airport with a bit of everything you may need from food to clothing while you wait for your flight or connection.
Great location
Great transportation links
Great selection of food and beverages
Outstanding level of service from the staff
Best airport to enjoy the views. I always love when I m here
Food options are limited, make sure to bring whatever you wanna eat before coming in. The airport is relatively small and cozy. Comfort dogs walking around all the time to relief people's stress. The duty free may randomly give you coupon receipt after checkout that only valid for the day of, so maybe it's better to buy a little first then see if you are lucky or not
Liked it more than Toronto Pearson. Feels like a small airport, but in a big city.
My number 1 airport in the whole word classy and well organized
I expected it to look aesthetically better. But it looks so poor. The infrastructure is outdated. I felt Toranto and Hong Kong airport are much better than vancouver.
Very well organised airport and easy to make your way through
Super great. Although I have only been there 3 times. I didn t have time to visit the Vancouver airport for the first time. The second time was to find the way to return to China.
Was there about 10 years ago, and must say one of the nicest airports I know. Everything was very clean, especially the toilets. TOP.
The customs/securities staff at the airport that deal with arrivals on their way out of the airport are horrible. I saw too many non-English speaking visitors get yelled at and treated horribly, simply because they couldn't understand the officer. Their tone changed when they found you to speak English fine. You should be kinder to visitors more, and help them get around... especially when they can't speak English....
It's the best Airport in North America, bar none.
The design is impressive, and the fact that the layout makes sense and is never misleading is a huge bonus.
Honestly, I come here from time to time just to hang out, because it's just that cool of a place.
Airport is nice but systems were down. I spent an hour checking in.
If you re flying to the US there might be really long lines for security and customs. Security is not particularly efficient l.
Of the best. It has very nice areas, even games for children. Which seemed very nice to me. Since you can really spend many hours at an airport and the one with these spaces makes it easier. Very good Vancouver!
One of the best airports I ve ever been to in my life.
One of the nicest hotels! Very clean, easy to get around and has many conveniences other airports don't have!
Obvious cultural diversity
Efficiency is better
International arrivals was a bit of a mess at passport control. Looked as if they were short staffed as there were only a handful of agents and plenty of empty agent kiosks that were unused.
One of the nicest airports in the world! Honestly the more you travel the more you realize how nice of an airport it is compared to so many others.
Really nice airport. It was quick to go through security and they were very thorough. Nice assortment of resteraunts and clean bathrooms!
Consistently (majorly) delayed on egress - plan accordingly. I have been traveling to and from this airport for nearly a decade now on international flights. Almost without fail, departures will be delayed even during early AM or late PM. Plan accordingly.
Efficient and organized. All airports should be operated like this.
Food was fresh, in the sense of it tasting like the usual A&W experience. Exactly what you or I would expect in an airport cafeteria.
Appreciate the hand sanitizing stations in parking and other areas.
Ice wine at the duty free. No limit for purchases heading back to the USA.
This rating is based on 2 times (in past month) for the cleanliness especially in the D55 waiting area. Surfaces clearly not kept clean, dust build up & crumbs & crud underneath seats & clearly no attempts to clean. I ve been travelling through YVR for 3 decades & it seems to me that attention to cleanliness has declined noticeably in recent couple of years.
Aesthetically one of the most beautiful airports in the world. For many it's the gateway to Asia but Vancouver city is a worthy destination in itself. Train access into the city is easy and convenient. My only issue is that customs lines can be long and Canadian officers are often very aggressive with their questioning but that's more often just part of the travel experience.
Staff are doing a great job accommodating and enforcing COVID masking requirements.
YVR is always a welcome sight, not only because it's home, but it truly is one of the, if not the best airports in North America
The staff is very kind. The airport itself has lots of shops and restaurants. But most of the time you will have to line up to get a few snacks because the airport can get packed at times. Make sure you go early so you can get through customs and security checks so you don t miss your flight. Also the airport is very clean and modern.
Always had a great experience here when going on my holidays. Pleasant staff and great range of duty free, shops and restaurants to keep me busy when waiting for my flight
Worse than a third world airport
Queue is a mile long at passport control
Take your vacation elsewhere
Dreadful
And no queue for families with young children
Easy airport to navigate and you get to fly Cathay Pacific to Hong Kong from here! I am surprised by the lack of bars for the Canadian airport. I was not surprised by the plethora of Tim Horton's. Bonus points for all of the TH's.
Beautiful airport. Going through security was even pleasant as the staff were friendly and helpful.
It is a very well organized airport, the indications from the workers and the signs are very clear, there is no problem that you can go wrong or things like that
It s a nice airport when you manage to pass through the check-in/luggage drop-off, which takes about 4 hours in itself along with rude staff.
It has a good security system and very careful check in process.
World class airport with lots of modern and artsy touches that reflect BC. Only complaint is how much airport improvement tax we still pay to finance this lux design :( Also wish more restaurants would be open earlier to accommodate those early flights. Tip: free luggage carts which is rare in international travel!
Best in Canada.
Cool native art, nice environment for an airport.
This a beautiful and calm part of the Vancouver airport. There are a lot of shops and restaurants open late at night. There is a great children s area near gate 53. It has a play equipment and children s movie area. There is a beautiful aquarium with sea urchin, starfish, and large fish. There are lovely indigenous art throughout the space.
Very large airport with many shops and very nice employees. Only the waiting time for the luggage is sometimes too long.
Truly a great international airport. There is a reason they've won numerous awards and it's great to see them put as much effort in the arrivals experience as the departures experience. The food choices are pretty decent and the airport is spacious. They've done a brilliant job designing it to have a lot of natural light. Duty free isn't their strong suit but it's quite comfortable if you're flying internationally. The domestic side is a bit more cramped but as far as domestic airport terminals in Canada go it's amongst the best. It can be a long walk to some gates in both terminals so give yourself time.
This is my home airport and I love it...to arrive home to. But...I m flying out on a Westjet flight and a lot of other folks are heading out to Check-in for gate B. I m sitting in White Spot (also mediocre service, but a different conversation) and I m seeing a lot of people having emotional goodbyes...only to re-embrace for the walk back to a gate that s open. I ve had this issue at YVR before where they suddenly closed Priority check-in at Gate C. Seems they run by their own rules and leave it up to the travellers to figure it out. Kinda not cool...
This is my go-to airport. I've flown out of here to go to Manitoba, Ontario; down to Seattle, over to Utah, Virginia or up to Hawaii; I've flown internationally to England and Germany. Every time, the stress of the actual flight attempts to overwhelm me, but the atmosphere of this airport brings me right back to chill. The chairs are comfortable, the Wi-fi and water are free; the windows are big and don't make you feel like you're cramped in with a ton of other people. The food is overpriced, the lines are long, and the bathrooms by the gates are cleaner than the ones in the international and domestic entrances. But it's an airport, the lines are supposed to be long (there are a lot of people to process!), the food is supposed to be over-priced (that's why you wait for your bag of peanuts on the flight).
Waiting for the luggage at the carousel takes time, every time, and going through customs with loads of other people takes time, too. The staff have always been helpful and pleasant to me, and when one of my suitcases went missing, they delivered it to my home the next evening, safe and sound (that was also a pleasant experience: reporting the suitcase, filling out paperwork, etc.). Yes, it's occasionally a long walk (or run, depending on how much time it took getting through security, who don't mind patting you down if you don't want to go through one of those horrid machines) to your gate, and definitely a long walk from your arrival gate to the exit of the airport, but the decor and the statues, the waterfall, they all make it a much better experience.
My only real complaint is about parking, which is absurdly expensive, especially if you intend on getting to the airport when the plane lands (when you're picking someone up), expect to wait (and pay for) an additional two hours before they're actually off the plane. I'm psyched that the skytrain is finally up and running, although I've not yet used it; it's just another example of how the airport, and the city, is working to improve the quality of people's experiences there.
Vancouver is a beautiful city to visit all year. Great convenient airport.
The airport itself is great. Driving there is a bit of a pain. Haven't used public transportation, yet.
I really do like YVR. It has a very interesting design, which you wouldn't get at like Heathrow or Frankfurt. Although its a big airport, it's very easy to get around. Clean terminals and bathrooms. There's a ton of art and water fountains in the international part of YVR and its all in all a great airport
Half the airport is filled with people waiting to get into the country!
Free Wifi, U. S. Custom for pre departure clearance. Great food options.
Everything fine, cool architecture, a little far to smoking/vaping area, short ways to rental cars, friendly staff and clean restrooms. We had a great stay in Vancouver and what we loved the most was the outlet mall on the premises
Friendly Officers, directions properly marked, I had no delay clearing customs, information desk & Amenities.
Great people to deal with, even the construction staff are smiling
Such a poor flight management. Flight official arrival time is 9:10 PM and flight arrived yet 8:50 PM. There are gates available but some how flight not assigned any gate for 50 minutes. Very bad
Great experience with the West Jet team as always, was travelling with pets usually it's difficult.
We had to go through check bag services because we had pets with us. We got checked in quick, taken care of quick.
The security team made it a seamless and painless experience and handled us with care.
We were given additional assistance to find out gate and relax before flight.
Boarding was great, we got in settled and the West jet team made sure our cats were comfortable
Impressive in scope and design. I had no trouble finding my way around the port and security was appropriate.
We fly out of here often. The staff are very friendly and the airport is clean.
This is the MOST organized and actually, relaxing (can't believe I just wrote that word) airport.....and I've been through MANY.
I'm sick and tired of getting price-gouged at airports, and Vancouver International is no exception to this widespread practice. The facility is clean, and nice enough, and they provide free wifi, which is positive. Another strength is that this is an easy facility to navigate, making it simple to find your departure gate.
Great Friday yvr days is kid friendly day. This airport has truly redefined what it's like to visit one. There's character and a lot of hipness to this place. It's definitely not institutional like other Airports. Here you can visit several dozen boutique stores. From the Vancouver Aquarium souvenir shop to an Apple inspired iShop. You can spend a whole day with your kids at the Public Observation Deck and there you have many telelens, an infotainment centre, a children's play area, a food court and plenty of places to sit and enjoy the airport view.
A beautiful airport just small enough not to have to worry about how far away your gates are, and the lines are never too long. Service is speedy, and food is varied and only a little overpriced.
Airport Many auto check in computer equipment, can effectively alleviate the influx of crowds, print the list after customs clearance is still put on a large queue.
Good airport with all facilities. It is also very nice, modern and clean.
The domestic terminal is pretty great overall, especially with the expansion. Just wish the Tim Hortons was more easily accessible.
this is the worse airport in the wold apart from luton airport
Great airport, well organized, fast and friendly staff. Lots of food choices and tons of seating. Great parking, there s valet parking. Rental cars are within walking distance.
It is a first class and modern international airport, you can move downtown with the skytrain.
