For young and old, young and old, male or female, fathers and mothers, grandfather and grandmother .......... There is something nice for everyone. With a little bit of rain it is a lot less crowded than with dry weather. We have been busy all day. Have been able to do just about anything. Already bought tickets by family. So only a parking coin purchased at the park.
I AM SO ABOUT THE EFTELING FOR ALL CLEARANCE!

Old-fashioned hotel. May get an update in terms of design. Not much to do in this hotel.
The great thing is that you can enter avifauna even if the park is closed, the disadvantage is that many places like the monkeys are also closed.

Beautiful bird garden. During the demonstration, many birds were allowed to fly freely and returned automatically after the show. Care is taken with love for this park and much attention has been paid to the birds but also to fun things for the guests. You will not be knocked over with souvenir shops or restaurants. It is really a bird park focused on the birds (with 2 monkey species and 1 red panda)! Highly recommended !!!

Stayed in the hotel a few times now. Beds are really comfortable and it's great that you can go around the park for free as a guest. There is a casino on the side and a good bar. Restaurant is also very good.
Issues I have found on the last two trips are that the room service menu does not have much choice and quite exspensive. And on two stays I have been badly bitten. I am not sure if these are from Gnats or mosquitos. But there where a lot of bites on both occasions, even with the window closed.

Family room: no air conditioning. Bathroom smelled like urine and had mold on the wall. There is no bulkhead behind the bed with the pillows. So your pillow falls off at night. Restaurant and reception are not in the same building. Clumsy. All in all it's ok. Little past glory. Had consumption when reporting odor and mold.

The 5 stars are especially earned for the life and cooking dinner. Two people from our company have a resp. gluten intolerance and a nut allergy. What an excellent handling of this. The chef was nothing too much to guide them in what they were allowed to eat and regularly came up with something tasty that was allergen free. The service was also super friendly. Even gluten-free sandwiches for breakfast. Nice to hear it was taken into account so well. We have already spent the night at the hotel. It is not the nicest Van der Valk hotel, somewhat outdated, but that should not spoil the fun. Always very nice in combination with the bird park.

Excellent breakfast. Customer friendliness is of paramount importance. Clean room. We were only unlucky with the weather, rain and the bird park was unfortunately closed due to Covid19. You can take a lovely walk there and enjoy nature.

One of the many Valk hotels, not the best in terms of the rooms, situated at the Avifauna bird park. Rooms are spacious but the decor is somewhat dated. The reception is not in the hotel building itself but across the street with the Avifauna cash register. Looks a bit strange and there is no control over who goes in and out of the hotel building. We have stayed here twice so far and in both cases we were not impressed by the cool business-like nature of the receptionists.
On 2 August 2019 we had dinner in the restaurant outside the bird park on the public road. The main courses, veal liver for my wife and the mussels for me were not very refined but good quality and more than adequate. The dishes were served with vegetables, baked potato slices and French fries of very poor quality. Furthermore, I must say that the condition of the men's room is no longer possible: really old junk who is far from fresh.

As true vd Valk enthusiasts, you must have "done" the primal mother of the hotel chain.
And again not disappointed.
Nice hotel, good staff and a fantastic kitchen.
The Avifauna bird park is a pleasant addition to the concept.

After the visit to the Vogelpark we went for lunch at the Van der Valk restaurant. Service was well arranged and very guest free. Our daughter of 1 had her own food at sight which we were allowed to heat up without any problems. After lunch I asked if they had a remote place to breastfeed my daughter. Unfortunately they didn't have it. Without further questions they had arranged a room through the hotel so that we could breastfeed our daughter in peace.
