Nice park and cozy restaurant with friendly service

Very attentive and smooth service on a very pleasant terrace

A very nice hotel, great welcoming and helpful staff at the reception and in the hotel bar. We noticed upon check in that the nice room was on the parking lot. So back to the reception asking for a park view room. No problem, the receptionist told me, I have a nice room adjacent to the ostrich residence. Only the interior is red and less new than the previous ones. This room was also very spacious, we have seen little of it, we immediately stood on the balcony and watched the ostriches and cranes. Only after two days we discovered the minibar . In addition to the great birds, wide views into the park. With bird sounds at night, which we loved. Furthermore, a nice room, all amenities, stable wifi, large safe, bath and separate shower. Because our bed did not need to be changed after one night's sleep, we received a gift voucher of 2.50 as an environmental reward. We used this in the restaurant. When we wanted to order a drink in the hotel bar on the terrace, my favorite cocktail Moscow Mule was not on the menu. However, without any effort, the bartender looked up the recipe, adjusted it in consultation and made a delicious cocktail. Really a super service from a super friendly man. In addition, it is striking that everyone from the staff from chambermaid to back office greets you nicely and makes you feel welcome. Everything with a big sincere smile. This is the case at all van der Valk hotels we have been to. Many people can take an example from this.

What I ordered from the restaurant was delivered quickly, and the food was delicious. The rooms were cozy and comfortable. I enjoyed it very much.

I think they can do something about the hotel, it's old and run down. The shower was a drama. Don't think it really works that you have to go to different buildings to eat or have breakfast. But our son has had a good time and that's what it's about

The room is austere and has a good bed that is long. The avifauna park is highly recommended. The food at the hotel is tasty and the staff is super. If you don't like an outdated room, you have a great time here

Cozy family park. At events they have tour boats. Bird park, but also other animals. Playground and various restaurants. Various shows with animals and feeding moments with explanation. In short, you can have a day there. Alphenaren have a 50% discount on the entrance fee !!

Great hotel, with some parts of the hotel physically inside the bird park Avi Fauna. They have remodelled the rooms, upped their breakfast game, and have great cleanliness. The lobby, hallway, and bar are still the original from a few decades ago, which gives a great authentic look. Rooms are clean with a large smart tv. Will stay here again.

Old junk, dramatic price quality. The rooms themselves have been nicely refurbished in terms of furniture, but the bathrooms are quiet 30 years old and have never been modernized. There is no thermostat in the room and very hot. Breakfast was very poor compared to other Vd Valk hotels. I'll never come back here.

Visited this place with the Zonnebloem guests. It was wonderfully quiet, the guests enjoyed it. Also the food. Excellent quality, friendly service.

Eaten in the restaurant. Food was downright dirty .. 2.5 hours done over 3 courses .. other than that it was piping hot in the restaurant. So if you want a day at the sauna and at the same time want to train your jaw muscles on well-cooked meat then this is the place to be.

Great van der Valk, good food good coffee. Operation very slow unfortunately.

In the strict lockdown where we are allowed to enter a store by appointment, we spent one night in this wonderful hotel. A room with a view of the park and not only that but couple ostrich also come to your balcony, great !! For this unique experience you must be in room 132, 134 or 136.
As used to at van der Valk, the rooms are neat and clean. This time no dinner in the restaurant, but in a room with a romantically set table! Breakfast in a box, not bad either.
So if you want to take a break, this is a must !! "

All a bit dated. Have breakfast in a separate location. Beds were fine for one night.

Nice room, spacious, in itself fairly clean, friendly staff. Location in Avifauna is beautiful.

Bird park is really worth going there. You can also visit the park every day if you stay at the hotel. The hotel and the rooms are neat and clean but terribly outdated. it smelled very much like the glow that we entered the room, I immediately opened the door. No air conditioning in the room. The rooms do need a makeover. The bathroom is clean and very outdated showering in a small shower cubicle with a shower tray.
The restaurant is opposite the hotel. The reception is also located in another building. (So everything is not in the same building, which is not convenient) In the restaurant you can eat very well, the food is served very hot, super friendly staff, nothing is too much for them. Everything is possible and everything is allowed. They are very customer-friendly, there are also older ladies who work there, who have more experience in this. Lovely restaurant serving really good food.

Service was a bit slow, but overall quality of the restaurant, waitress(es) was ok.

If you love nature then you really need to see avifauna. The hotel has a bird park behind it that is soooooo beautiful. The rooms are spacious, tastely furnished and with private balconies that allows you seat out and of course good food.

Very nice to be with again, a few times as a child. Bird show was very nice to see!

Been to the Dutch evening. 6-4-'18 Was very nice. Too bad for the sound quality, this was sadly adjusted. Far too loud, but more importantly, the speakers sounded like Donald Duck. That could be better than at the dinner show in December when it sounded good.

Too expensive for the quality of the room and very noisy

Good restaurant and very friendly staff.
Unfortunately it was very unclear what exactly was. And the accompanying or matching sauces were not to be found either.

Because we were there for Christmas and also had a high tea more often for Dad, this is probably more about turnover than normal space at the table.
At most vd Valk restaurants and hotels there is enough space like me: Nootdorp, Emmen and can continue for a while.

The service at the above location is mainly young boys or girls who are still training. I make this out by how they talk about their colleagues in front of customers.
Instead of a toilet visit, an employee said sorry, my colleague is shouting. Then you are there for Christmas.
A doll is nice of course but you would prefer not to hear this when flapper is on your plate.

Very nice park, was also very quiet so we could see everything. Caregivers are also very professional and can tell you everything
