Worst customer service EVER!! Made appointment, went in, car I went to look at was sold, put off on another sales guy who brought this filthy car to me, had no idea if price, left to get price, hour later, never returned. Told original salesman I was leaving, was told he would take care of it personally, they were busy, no excuse. Monday rolls around I text and he NEVER bothers to get back with me! Never , ever will I set foot in this dealership again! Poor poor customer service!!!

This review is about the service dept. We have an extended warranty and always keep up on my Corolla's scheduled maintenance. We bought the car in Corpus brand new and had great experiences with their very fast service dept. We've been using University Toyota for the last two years. Usually things go well. But the last two times (including today) the service leaves a lot to be desired. I don't know if the management had changed in the last 6 months or so, but it's definitely much worse where customer service is concerned. No body smiles. No body seems to like their job. I had a 930 appt. for tire rotation and oil change. I arrived at 845. At 1105 I went and asked if my car was done. The service guy brings me my papers said it was done but they found a blinker burned out. I agreed to let them fix it but I don't understand why I had to go ask. Why wasn't this brought to my attention a lot sooner. I think management needs to work on streamlining the process and do something to make it an enjoyable work place for your staff.

Pay very close attention to what they are telling you versus what is written on paper. MAKE SURE YOU READ EVERYTHING. Much additional money is made in our mistakes. Once a deal is struck at universal Toyota, they are less interested in what is or is not mentioned to the customer. Take away from my bad experience. Toyota has great cars. Just be careful when at Universal Toyota in particular.

My wife and me have bought 3 vehicles from Universal Toyota over the last several years and we have been very happy with them until we bought the last one.
My wife traded in her old Toyota with personalized license plates and was in the understanding, that Universal Toyota would order the personalized license plate as she had on the old vehicle. Today (One month after purchase), after talking with them several times by phone, text and e mail I was told, that it was probably easier if we would go to the tax office and do it ourselves. They were passing us during that time from one person to the other.
We are frustrated and not happy with them at all and will go to a different Toyota Dealership in the future.

We just love ABIOLA! He was start to finish the BEST help and guide ever. he worked hard to get us a great car and a really great deal !! He stayed in close touch by text, he fought for us and we're just so happy with our new car, with this Toyota dealership and personnel--everyone was great- - but we are especially happy with Abiloa. Just a great guy!

These guys totally reinforce the stereotype of sleazy and pushy car sales men. I was very upfront and clear about the type of vehicle I was looking for and what my budget was but they keep pushing more expensive vehicles. Do yourself a favor and don't pull into this dealership.

I would not recommend this dealership for trade-ins if you know the value of your vehicle, they cut your car value into half. This happens when i saw my vehicle posted in their website with more than 100% added price than my vehicle trade in price. Yes they paid off the old car but its not fair. Its a total rip off.

Once you buy a car you are an inconvenience to them. They do not return your calls for any information. Bought my first new car there and totaled it 10months later. When I tried to call about the gap insurance..no call back or anything. I would have gotten my car there again but since they blew me off till I showed up I went to Cavender Toyota. BETTER PRICING!!!

Dealt with many Toyota dealerships in the area, but didnt want to buy from anyone else except Daniel Ortega at Universal Toyota. His product knowledge, passion for his work, and his level of enthusiasm put him far above the rest. Noe in the finance department was very efficient and made the financing part of car buying so easy. I'm very happy with my experience at Universal Toyota. It really is home of the real deal!

We were treated excellent. The salesman who worked with us in a very easy going way, (Mr.Hans Hardin) . He worked in a very professional way. As we went thru the first stack of papers, he was prepared to answer any question we had. The financial guy continued with the same level paperwork that was also required to buy our 2015 van. He was ready to answer all of our questions.
All in all, this was the time that we received in buying a used car. I would give both men a grade of A.+.

My service technician, Felix, was great ... customer service oriented, friendly and professional. The only problem I had was the extended time waiting on a part to be delivered from another dealership. There's a gap somewhere in this process with the availability of auto supplies for a major dealership. But overall, I was happy with my experience.

Salespeople have to "consult with the manager" everytime you blink your eyes. Buying a car here is a slow, time consuming process. Salesman went back to "consult with the manager " one last time. We waited 40 minutes for him to come back. I tried to locate the salesman but he was nowhere to be found. At that point, we left. Even though most of the paperwork had been completed, they never called me to follow up. I won't be back.

David showed us around and introduced us to the Head Mechanic assigned to us.

Simply an excellent Customer Service!!

Thank you David.

Took the wife to buy her a brand new car after finishing her nursing defree. So we went to a few delaeeships and ended up at here at universal Toyota. We told the salesman what we were looking for price and the necessities it had to have. He found a few but each one didn't have a feature we were looking for we finally find the right one and we go in to sign papers on jt. Once we were done signing we go out to get the car and it's not the car we signed for but they tell us just take home see if u like it and if not come back tomorrow and we get the right one. So we took home and yes we didn't like it so we took back and we got the one we wanted and everything was good until I asked for the remote start that we told them was a necessity it had to have. He told me yea it has the built in entune and to call customer support on it but it takes up to 2 months for everything to go through. So I say okay and he tells me to wait so they can detail the car.
After the detail I go look at the car. And it has 3 noticeable scratches from their detail people. So I ask to fix it and they say to bring back on later day so they can order paint. So when I brought it back again they told me they weren't able to get them out and that if I wanted they know a guy who can repaint it at decent price but yet want me to pay for it. I said this is ur mistake and I won't pay. My wife ended up talking to the manager and we had to being it back for another time for them to get 2 of the scratches out but one of them could not be fixed.
So now I have a $35k Camry with a scratch and 2 covered scratches that I can tell are there and I just called about my entune and the dang car not even equipped with entune and they want me to pay another 450 our of pocket to get it put in even tho they said it would be put in for sure

Their customer service is the worst. Never buy a new car from here they wont take care of you like other dealerships will.

I have been selling cars for 7 years and have sold Toyota for the Last two years. My brother in need of a vehicle,1500+ miles from home was in need of a car. I picked up the phone and Universal Toyota Answered the call of duty. They exhibit the same level of profession courtesy that I exhibit myself. If anyone has the highest standards from a dealership it is myself. I am proud that this level of customer service still exist in the auto industry. They got the formula right, and I will recommend Universal Toyota if you are ever in the San Antonio Area.

Vicky was a very knowledgeable and kind salesperson. She considered our preferences and was understanding of our needs. She also helped to get us the best deal possible. I normally dread car buying experiences, but she made this a lot easier and bearable.

I have bought two used vehicles from Universal Toyota. The sales representatives have been wonderful on their own. I would of given them 5 stars. It is the administrative staff where the issues are. With both cars I have had to go back several times as they could not get the paperwork correct. Both vehicles have taken a long time to get the tags. Still have not gotten them for the last car purchased in January. I do not live close to this dealership and because of the hours I work it is a total inconvenience.

It really sucked, there was a tall white guy that seemed as if he didn't want us in the building he wanted my grandson to wait outside in heat. If I had known your service was so bad I wouldn't purchased this one

Andy was amazing. I researched and looked at hundreds if cars. I got a beautiful 2015 Camry for $17, 900. The car has all leather inside and is fully loaded with 34k mi. It was the best deal out there. Thank you Andy and Toyota.

I recommend spend extra dollars somewhere else but don't go universal Toyota there croaked and there are the worst dealerships ever in my life they are highway robbery. Louis and some other manager they are really rude both managers are going to lose the money and took my 2,500$ and I am not going to recommend my friends to go to universal Toyota.

Just bought two vehicles from here. Had great service and got great pricing. Look up Valerie Solis as a new car salesperson. She is wonderful and will make things flow smoothly. Even helped explaining how everything works the second time I brought my car back in.
Great dealership or I wouldn't have went back for the second car.
You just have to go here if you are looking for a new car. They will treat you right.

We were blessed to have Ezekiel Quiroz Jr as our salesman. Not only did he show the courtesy and friendliness which would have been expected, but his patience in allowing us to see and test various cars gave us the reassurance of knowing we ultimately chose the perfect car for us.

Mr. Quito also provided knowledgeable information about the individual cars we were test driving and the overall process we were experiencing. He was kind, professional, and totally facilitated our car purchasing experience.

We would highly recommend Universal Toyota, whose staff appears to work well as a team, contributing to the professionalism we experienced..

Never had such a great experience at a car dealership before. 9 times out of 10 you have salesmen who are only interested in getting you the car but with a bunch hassle not excluding how they barely fight for you best interest. Joe Gutierrez was our sales person yesterday and I have nothings ing but admiration for this gentlemen. Not only did he fight to get us the best deal possible, he was able to go above and beyond to make this deal happen. I recommend anyone seeing this to ask for him when you go to this dealership.

Came to this dealership, "loosely" car shopping...but I walked away in a brand new car on account of an unbeatable deal. Jon Henry and Luis Gonzalez are the epitome of professional, personable experts who truly has my best interest at hand. They were patient with me as I picked through every detail...even staying well past their working hours (I'm sure)...as I did not leave the lot until after 11pm. Thank you for giving me such an easy car buying experience. I'll definitely remember this...as future potential car salesmen have big shoes to fill.

I responded to a sales offer that was presented to by mail to trade in my car and get a specific discount. registered online was told to make an offer I offered the exact terms they had on the ad and they flat out refused to honor it. i escalated it to their manager who refused to honor the terms as well. I showed them the offer mailed to me still no. later I called to speak to the general manager was sent to his secretary and then to a floor manager still no one willing to help or even get back to me? Can car dealerships get away with anything they feel like? are they unaccountable? aren't there both federal and state laws about fraud and false advertising? bait and switch is bad enough but to flat out refuse to acknowledge their own advertisement sent thru a federal entity like the usps?

Looking for a new truck but a very rude security guard came up to me to tell me not to open any vehicles, do not go here or there on the property, etc. If you cannot look at the vehicles, how can they expect you to buy one. Taking my business elsewhere because of this guard.

Worst Service EVER!!! I usually come here and it's always the same. I make an appointment and they take 2 hours for an oil change. The guy that helped me was very polite and gave me insight on my truck which was wonderful but the people in the back working on my oil change is very disappointing.

Sell a great product, sales people work hard to get your business. Great service department as long as the issues are cut and dry. However, if it's an issue that must be elevated to TOYOTA and the service manager has to get involved don't count on getting anything resolved. I've bought many many vehicles at this dealership over the years but no more because of the way the service msnager has handled issued on my last purchase.

The girls that answer the phones, make appointments, etc. are super nice and friendly. But when they try to connect people with a service rep or other, they won't answer their phones. The girls are also told they have to make calls to people that are on the "Do not call list."

Subject: Salesman Mr. Robert Duncan

I went into the Toyota dealership looking for a certain Scion. As soon as I got out of my car Mr. Duncan asked if he could be of service. Very nice man. Very professional. I told him what I was looking for & he promptly took the lead. From that point to the end of my buying a new 2014 Scion XB. Robert Duncan was there explaining everything about the car. Asked if there was anything else he could do to make my experience better in any way? I was very satisfied with him & my new car. This is the second Scion I have purchased from Universal Toyota. It's because of the staff that I'll keep coming back & telling others to shop there.

Universal Toyota has amazing staff who helped us with picking out a car that my mom was interested. One of the workers there, Samson Salguero, was an amazing person who gave us correct information and wonderful service. During our time there, we did not feel any pressure to instantly get the car but rather to have an informed opinion. If you plan to get a car and need someone to help you, look for Mr. Samson Salguero.

Benjamin P Wayt helped us get financed and into a barely used 2018 Kia Soul+. Worked with us every step of the way, was on point with contacting us, letting us know what we needed and how much and worked with our situation. We went from walking everywhere for 9 months into a basically brand new vehicle that runs beautifully and is reliable. We will be going back to get another car from him specifically and will recommend time and time again. He's a stellar employee and makes Toyota look fantastic!

Spent 30 minutes wandering the lot as the sales agent tried to find me the vehicle and trim I had requested. Repeatedly tried to take me to a vehicle before I pointed out a different trim was printed on the side. On top of that, multiple agents quickly asked me if I had kids. Very clearly trained to do this for sales purposes and not genuinely asking.

Have been counting all of the 1 & 2 star reviews for SA Toyota dealers. Alamo Toyota may have been in 1st place, but after gleaning the 1 & 2 star reviews for Universal Toyota, we may have a new winner.

I live in the area, but next time I need a new Toyota, I'll go to another city.
I'm not sure what's going on with SA Toyota dealers, but I see countless bait-n-switch; faulty service diagnosis/repair reviews. I expect this from the domestic dealers, but would hope to see better from Toyota.

Sad.

I've been using Universal Toyota since the day I purchased my new 2008 Tacoma. They have keeped it running like new. It has 163,000 plus miles on it and runs like the day i drove it off the lot. Thank you Universal Toyota, you guys are the best!!!

I did not get good vibes from the NEW CAR side of the dealership. I even saw a salesman with a Toyota name tag on smoking near the entrance door. But after after 4 months of looking for a car...Paul Garcia in the PRE-OWNED CAR department did exactly what he said he was going to do when he said he was going to do it.

He had the original car of interest already pulled up to the door with the keys ready to go. When that one didn't work out, he found another car that fit our needs and budget, knew exactly where it was and had the keys in seconds for a test drive. Needless to say, we purchased the car.

We had been looking for a car for 4 months and had had a string of VERY bad experiences. I was sick of being knee deep in bull, dealerships not being able to locate cars, or keys, or even my scheduled appointment time. I told Paul what I was expecting in terms of a car and customer service and he delivered in every aspect. FOUR other dealerships had wasted HOURS and HOURS of my time. Paul did not.

WE WILL BE BACK TO SEE PAUL GARCIA IN THE PRE-OWNED DEPARTMENT FOR OUR NEXT CAR PURCHASE...whenever that will be...

Jose Otero is the best salesman I've had the pleasure of buying a car from.

Shane Johnson is the friendliest and most helpful service advisor that has ever helped me at a dealership or car service place.

I know places that employ a lot of people can give you mixed results in terms of customer service. See either of these two people for your needs, and you'll be satisfied with your visit!

I went to look for a vehicle and happened to be in a tight spot and needed a car. I CANNOT BEGIN TO TELL YOU how awesome Maribel Soliz was in making what I wanted HAPPEN. She went above and beyond to do her ABSOLUTE best to get me the deal I was looking for. She went back and forth with them to get me an awesome deal and NEVER once did I feel like I was an annoyance; someone she just wanted to hurry up and get us out the door. She helped me to the extent I literally had tears of joy and gratitude for her and her help after I purchased my vehicle. I didn't feel like a customer. I felt like family. People like Maribel are the reason why I still have faith in genuine honesty. I CANNOT BEGIN to explain the help she provided my mother and I. She embodies everything that grade A, top notch quality customer service should. She made what I thought was impossible a dream come true. From the bottom of our hearts Maribel, thank you for everything! If you need a bad a** sales professional ask for Maribel Soliz! If management is watching this young woman deserves a raise and promotion!!!!

I have had my new RAVA 4 for a week today. There are 2 people that need props: MR. NATHAN WHITFIELD and MR. ANTHONY ROSARIO JR. These two genetlemen were so professional and so patience with this old woman. Mr. Whitfiled took the time to explain everything to me (sometimes twice) and was so nice and helpful I felt so forturne to have gotten him to sell me this car. He understood my budget and desires and met them all- HE ROCKS! Totally outstanding. If anyone ever needs a car I will highly recommend them to him. It so refreshing not to get ripped off and be leveled with upfront. GIVE THIS MAN ANOTHER AWARD. HE WILL ALWAYS BE MY GO-TO-MAN!!!!! Mr Rosario was the finance guy also very professional and respectful AND he even showed me how to make the payments fit my buget even better. He answered all my questions and even gave me information I didnt know about. I must commend your company on hiring professional, courtsey and sweetheart men. The GM-was great too! WAY TO GO TOYOTA you have a customer for life and I will SPREAD THE WORD.

So I went in there to look at a vehicle that I had...

So I went in there to look at a vehicle that I had seen on their website. A friend of mine had also purchased a car from here a few months ago and referred me to a specific sales person. So before I get there I call and she (referred salesperson) tells me she s not there but gives me the name of someone who is there. I get there, ask for this person and they are busy (literally on their cell phone) and sends me to used cars where I can get help by someone there (the car I went to see was used). Once I m there. I m greeted by this gentleman Werner (i think that s his name). Friendly but sorta all over the place. He was also busy so he runs inside to grab yet another person for me (Nate). I tell them what I m there to see, and after a 10 min wait I m told the car is not there. Here s where things get weird. I m looking for a 2017 vehicle and when they walk me over to see another similar vehicle (a 2016/diff trim level), I ask more info on it and ask what the difference is between the one I want and the one I m now looking at and they really couldn t tell me except that this one was better . Then Werner starts saying that he doesn t think the vehicle we are looking at is really a 16 that it s most likely a 17, and that I should test drive it. Hmmmmmmm the paper stuck to the front window clearly says it s a 2016. Not sure why he would try to convince me of otherwise. So the moral of this whole story/review is that these sales guys should really learn their vehicles. They should study them so that they could be better informed when a potential buyers asks questions. And if you don t know the answer to a question DONT GUESS OR MAKE UP, simply say I can find out for you. I did not think telling me a vehicle was of a different year than what was labeled on it was clever at all. This just makes the entire dealership look like they don t know what their doing if in fact their cars are labeled wrong, which I knew wasn t the case but someone there telling me it was, was just weird. I ended up buying somewhere else the following day but I gave them 3 stars on this review because aside from that strange interaction, I ve had worst experiences.

Worst service I have recieved ever I have been coming here for 2 years now and I have never recieved service this bad I waited for 3 hours for oil change, alignment, and to check my door spoke with the service tech he said truck was done and he was gonna give Ariel my paperwork and I still waited 30 minutes for papers and additional 10 min in my truck waiting for my keys to arrive and I had to walk back in and ask for them

Not a great experience today at this place. They took two entire hours to do an oil change. An oil change. I had brought my own oil for them to use because I like synthetic. The guy said they d use it; he told me to leave it on the floor. I was wearing my military uniform. I go to pay and find out they have a military discount, but the guy didn t bother to give me the discount. I don t expect a discount just because I m military (I don t think I m special), but at least he should have gone out of his way to help me, especially after waiting two hours for a dang oil change. I get back in my car to leave, look at the floor, and my box of oil is sitting there unopened. Waste of time and energy to get your vehicle serviced here.

I had an outstanding sales rep (Cedric George) at Universal Toyota. Cedric went above and beyond my expectations. He was very professional in every aspect of the sale. He helped me transfer my belongings from my old truck to my new truck when it was hot outside. He explained all the features of the truck to me . I would highly recommend Cedric George to all my military and civilian friends. Outstanding job young man. You deserve sales rep of the month.
