Waiting Hospital of California. Hope you emphasize...

Waiting Hospital of California. Hope you emphasize how serious your situation is because if time is a factor then walking into the ER will make ur situation worse. They take longer then they should in absolutely everything. And for a first timer nobody informed me of uncountable amount of useful information. My damm 1st room didn't even have a remote. 12+ hour wait time to be admitted and yet as I sit here in there gastronomy building right now, I'm, yes you guessed it waiting. I honestly came here because I thought they were above n beyond quality but now I see size really doesn't matter lol. Not to even mention prices because I've been to 4 hospitals and the majority of the rating I gave is due to THE ACTUAL MEDICINES n the few people who are good but unfortunately the bad service overcomes the nice good people by a LANDSLIDE. Final sentence, if time is important to you and or customer service then definitely and you'll regret it so bad if don't, but definitely DONT go to UCI Medical.

Customer service and nurses were amazing they did such a gr8 job on my procedure and was very patient with me as I was in alot of pain, the food taste great and they checked on me constantly, they made me feel so at home I didn't want to leave, thank you for taking care of me, Mrs Lucy the night time nurse on the 2nd floor is so beautiful and is great at her job as well as showing empathy when I was in pain. I would recommend anyone to this hospital for whatever procedure you need. The female urology physician is very understandable and kind and did an amazing job on my surgery god bless them all.

This place is NOT COVID-19 compliant. No proper air ventilation. Air supply and return are shared by six adjacent stalls. Shared Coffee and snacks are placed inside other patients stalls. Six combined patients in one room separated by privacy curtains ONLY. To use the restroom, you must pass through three other patients stalls. I will never go back to that place. Worst medical center I have ever had to deal with, and I've dealt with some racist ones. Been waiting over 1.5 months for them to receive authorizations that they lost in the mail and via fax (3 authorizations) just to be able to make an appointment with ENT. I waste an average of 30 minutes a day talking to these baffoons. They completely lack any kind of organizational skills! My ears have been suffering in the meantime. Go somewhere else if you have a choice!

Not even does this place deserves a star. I asked the emergency room nurse for a blanket while in the waiting room coz my brother (and the patient) is cold. The nurse said they didn't have one and if he had one and gave it to me, everyone will be asking for it. What a shame! Like seriously? What ER does not have an extra blanket in a country like America?!! What a shame! Quality health care my a**

I only gave 1 star in a way because majority of the staff were nice anyway. Just that one nurse. He ruined it!

My wife has cancer I took here to UCI ER and she has been treated like a QUEEN since day 1. Has been getting treatment for cancer for awhile now. No problems what so ever. I would recommend UCI to all people. I took her to other cancer hospitals 3 of them. Nothing but problems. Now thanks to all the wonderful doctors and nurses at UCI Hospital she is doing great. So GOD bless UCI and it's wonderful staff. Joe

I d give them 0 stars if I could, this is the worst hospital ever, they don t care about their patients at all. They kept me waiting for 3 hours just to get my x ray results while I can hear the staff sitting joking and laughing inside the room which is ridiculous! I will never go back there again! And I don t recommend anyone to go there. This is the worst experience ever and is extremely unacceptable!
Edit: if you have a life threatening condition they are gonna let you die!

I am disheartened with the care my sister has gotten so far this year. She has cancer and was scheduled for a serious treatment today. But some one dropped the ball and now she has to wait. No answers as of yet, but this is extremely upsetting to my sister as well as to me. I hope that the doctors and their staff can communicate so that my sister can get the treatment she desperately needs. Please have some compassion.

I hate this damn hospital, i would not give it zero stars. My mom had stage four Brest cancer and all these doctors did was play with her life, there were trainy doctors and medical students who didn't know anything, they suck i blame them for my late mothers life. I hope this place burns with theses doctors especially doctor Ritesh Parajuli, MD.

UCI gets 1 star for their unprofessionalism. My mo...

UCI gets 1 star for their unprofessionalism. My mother has been here for 2 weeks and 4 days today. She went from ok to worse and yesterday she finally showed a sign of recovery. She has had a long troublesome journey and many who have been treating her have said that she is a miracle because they had done all to help her but only prayer brought her back. Needless to say hence the reason why we are protective of her. A couple nurses were mean and rude to her while she was in a coma. My sister caught one nurse blasting her music from her cell phone atop my mom's stomach. Another doctor trying to get a response from mother pressed her chest on her insicion site and bent her finger backwards, raised and dropped her hand and because she wouldn't open her eyes for him, he straight out said that she was doing worse than the previous day. Today she was supposed to get dialysis but the tech was raising her voice at my mother not to move knowing fully well that she wasn't. The tech was cursing and finally left the machine beeping while she sat and entertained herself on facebook. We've reported a couple nurses and a doctor for their behavior; yes there have been many great nurses and doctors but sadly the unhumane staff have made a very terrible impression on all of us. Be careful with your loved ones, never leave them unattended, always have someone by their side. Make sure that they follow procedure, my mom caught a hospital bacteria which she has been battling for the past three days and hinestly, if I could I'd move her elsewhere.

Suffering from chest pains and in hypertensive crisis, I was brought in by ambulance, and was seen immediately in the ER. I was then admitted and tested for heart damage and blockages. I am very impressed with all the compassionate people here. Nurses, doctors, everyone was excellent. Thank you for taking care of me.

My mother had a life-threatening condition that was time sensitive. Once we arrived in an ambulance nobody acted quickly they left her inside the room unattended to.Not one doctor or nurse came in, I asked a nurse when someone was going to come check on my mom and he had said there are 9 ppl who also have head injury. They put a neck brace on her and she started choking on her own vomit I quickly ran to the nurse to get some assistance and he said there is nothing I can do. I started yelling for a doctor in the hallway and one FINALLY showed up after 45 min into our arrival, it was the only way she started to get treatment. The doctor added the respiratory tube for prevention and was not needed which caused her to have pneumonia and she went in for a head trauma and died for pneumonia. This was the worst hospital if I could I would give a ZERO!

The pharmacy is very inefficient. Long wait times. Staff overworked and understaffed. No follow up regarding prescription pick ups.

Also, why is it that the parking lot charges for people here to meet with their doctor? They validate all but $2

Total arrogance not supported by any skill level was present during my unfortunate experience with the UCI pain management clinic. Be very wary of this office and know that the medical center protects inept doctors who give false information. Patients need to be their own advocates because this office surely doesn t advocate for patients.

I was transferred there from another hospital. I did not like the emergency room. I had a doctor call me a liar and the nurse tried to tell me he didn't. The nurses talk about you and make fun of you. Then I went upstairs and it was totally different. The nurses were very nice and compassionate

I tried to schedule a medical procedure because their ad was first on google results. The website was very informative, but when I called to actually ask questions and schedule the procedure, I was quickly lost in phone hell and when I actually got a human on the phone, they were unable to answer basic scheduling questions. I tried twice. Moving on.

I started and with my mother at three o'clock in the afternoon they indicated a tac and exams which were done at 5:30 pm, the answer was given at approximately 9:30. Again they took us to the label waiting room to ask if they would be given medication or not since my mother is a person with cancer, it is currently 12:15 am and the nurse or student has not been able to speak with the doctor, I consider that It's too long to give us an answer or a recipe. In addition, 90% of the patients who entered with us already left or were already treated, lousy service.

Can't say about the hospital, but the ER is the WORST in the area. Better go to south more for much much better hospitals. Staff are not only RUDE but also make SNARKY PATRONIZING comments. I also second one commenter on that the color spectrum of rainbow seen and respected is only one and it is not in the rainbow. I am not, but it is specially bad if your last name sounding like people from the Iberia penisula.

I come into the ER at 10:30am on a Wednesday Morning there was hardly anyone there another women came into the ER at the same time we checked in myself having horrible pain on my right side and the other land same thing I didn't get my CT Scan until 2 pm the other lady was still waiting to be seen it was now 4 pm and this women is in horrible pain and hasn't been helped I was pissed at the hospital staff was treating her so I called Patient Relations I told the girl who I spoke to I wanted a staff member to come over and find out why this women hasn't been helped then the head nurse comes up to me and starts asking me did I just call and complaint I told her no then she says is your name Aurora Loya then the other nurse says yes you are she trys to act like I was asking if I was going to be seen. Then she says show me the women who complain then the nurse goes and starts yelling talking to the women and says how can I help you didn't you just call the customer service complaining about not being helped. Then she goes on about how the hospital staff is so busy ect . I understand if a hospital gets busy but you don't go and ignore a person who has been waiting to be seen and is in horrible pain this hospital staff needs to start treating people with some respect and not yell at them because they need to be seen another thing I noticed is that a staff member was yelling at a women who was getting a ct scan and the lady was screaming in horrible pain the nurse was yelling at her saying stop that . It seems like there is abuse going on in the hospital with the staff members

The only reason I gave them 1 star because there is no option for zero star.
I have never seen such a careless nurses and MDs. They litterally don't care what is your situation. The MDs are inexperienced with no respect to the patient. I am sorry for this center and its personnel.
Stay away from this place as much as you can.

I had a motorcycle accident and spent two weeks in a coma. These people nursed me and gave me full mobility of every bone in my body, something I thought wouldn't happen. In fact if you see me, you can't even tell I went through a house at 60 MPH and broke my arms. I am forever grateful for all of their work and lead a normal life today. I can never thank them enough.

My father was very sick and dying of cancer. The medical staff was less worried about his pain and more worried about keeping him under an anti psychotic. The hospice care here released him to a nursing facility that was unequipped to give him his pain medication. The hospice and medical staff from UC Irvine refused to return our phone calls as we watched my father suffer, hallucinate and throw up blood. We finally fought back against the nursing facility staff and called an ambulance and had him rushed to another ER (not UC Irvine) and that hospital staff was much more helpful. No person should have to suffer this way however my father was a Veteran who served in the United States Navy for 24 years...and this is how he was treated. Shame on UC Irvine hospital. I would NEVER allow any of my family members to go there again. I am still disgusted and appalled by their incompetence and disresgard for human suffering.

I went UCIrvine Health for regular physical check on 8/7/19. The vist took less than 20 mins.

Before the visit, I injured my leg muscle in a soccer game days ago. I didn't want to talk about this but Kim Brian M.D. asked me to bend my leg for examination. I couldn't, so I have to tell him my leg was injured and he immediately wrote out a physical theraphy address on a note. Even though I did not go the theraphy, I thought he is a good person. But it turns out Kim Brian M.D. charged me $115 even after copay, just by telling me the physical therapy address which is considered as an extra medical service besides physical check! How ridiculuous it is!

Try to avoid Kim Brian as your physican if you have to visit UCI Health. Do you think a person who always thinking about abusing medical regulation and stealing the last penny from his patient is trustwhorthy?

Also disappointed of UCI billing office, not responsible, not helpful at all. I would give 0 star if there is an option.

WORST EMERGENCY ROOM/HOSPITAL EXPERIENCE EVER!!! H...

WORST EMERGENCY ROOM/HOSPITAL EXPERIENCE EVER!!! Had surgery last week and started having complications at home. Was told by my surgeons office, to go to the nearest ER to get checked out and since I had been here before to have a baby and had a wonderful experience-I didn't hesitate. I spent 4 hours seated in a slanted hard wheelchair-I received IV fluids in the ER WAITING ROOM. Next, a shot of morphine was about to be given to me-but when I told the nurse I couldn't tolerate that medication, she said she would have it changed- she never came back, later, I found out she said, I refused pain management. Every time I asked a question,( I waited hours BEFORE I decided to ask anything btw) I was told, "a nurse or doctor is on their way to talk to you right now"-no one ever showed up. I got wheeled from the waiting room, to a far off hallway, forgotten about. I had an ultrasound seated in the wheelchair, because the "learning" staff, didn't want to mess up the sheets. I was wheeled back to the ER WAITING ROOM- 6 hours into it. Finally saw doctor's 6ish hours AFTER I arrived, told I shouldn't of sat upright for so long, I could of developed blood clots- I should of been laying down and admitted by now. 930 p.m, FINALLY got a room, nurses not ready for me, took 10 minutes to find one, in total, it took 8.5-9 hours, to FINALLY get in a bed, I was told this particular wing was the quietest, so honestly ,I was so looking forward to that. Well.......The next morning early, I was booted. Still in pain and still had swollen legs from sitting hours in a wheelchair the day/night before. The wing was a nightmare-loud , laughing staff and "patients", a man who came in for graham crackers it seems, because if he didn't get them he was violent and cussed everyone out-security AND police were called-at 5 a.m, I FINALLY asked for earplugs-after TRYING to sleep for 7 hours, at 7, I was awakened and told I'd be released and I had a tray of "liquid diet" in front of me ALREADY- mind you, I arrived in my room at 9:30 p.m, the night before and was due to stay for 36 hours to ensure- #1 my pain was manageable to recover at home #2 I got rehydrated and #3 I would be able to hold down food and liquids -when all was said and done, I was a patient, in a bed, less than 13 hours in total. At 8ish, the nurse practitioner came in and told me that I was being released because I was "stable", I was shocked---I asked her if I was being mistaken for another patient, I went into the chain of events that got me to that point, showed her my swollen legs, told her, I JUST really got to sleep and was told I'd be there much longer to ensure I could recover at home, but, was cut off with-"honestly, you had your surgery at a different hospital, so in the interest of our hospital and staff we can't treat you any further-it has been decided, that you are stable enough to go home, if anything else happens, BEFORE you follow up with the surgeon-I advise you to go to the hospital you had your surgery at" (that's in part)..... I asked her if I had to leave immediately and she said ,"no I have a ton of patients, try to work on your food tray, rest, relax, we're looking to at least noon before I have your discharge paperwork submitted". She left the room, I started to cry. By 9ish I had a discharge nurse storm into the room, startling me awake, talking a mile a minute, shoving discharge paperwork in my face to sign.
I could go on, but really, do I have to----the ONLY thing I can say good is, the night shift nurse that took care of me--she really took care of me. I didn't know it at the time, but when I saw her when she gave me my home medication-her face didn't seem right, it looked like something wasn't right-I think she may have known what they were going to do to me. To her ,I say, THANK YOU SO MUCH, for being compassionate and taking care of me-I so wish I could remember your name. I appreciate you and I will NEVER forget what you did for me-my family and I , THANK YOU from the bottom of our hearts.

Absolutely first class service from the time we walked into the ER Waiting room until we left. The receptionist and admissions staff were really pleasant and explained everything, they were very tolerant of tourists from NEw Zealand. All the medical staff nurses and doctors were very skilful and knowledgeable. Did everything they possibly could to make my daughter feel at ease. We left feeling extremely satisfied and reassured they had done everything they could. Nobody wants to have to go to hospital in a different country on holiday but we definitely went to the right place. Thanks everyone!!!

Terminated Position during orientation week(first ...

Terminated Position during orientation week(first day of hire) very poor communication with lab manager/supervisors.
I was assigned to apply for a position by lab supervisor Brad Pruden to apply for the per diem phlebotomist to serve in Lancaster California at two of the nursing homes as he stated he needed. My new position was Monday-Thursday 8:30am-2pm and salary was scheduled with Brad,I kept in touch with brad through the whole process. The state was having issues mailing my phlebotomy license. Brad was well aware on this and he stated I should be fine as long as it shows on the state system that I m active and to proceed with the hire process, filling me in that HR might be strict as they need to see it in person. So I did. During my health clearance I received a email from Brad asking how everything is going, any updates? we touched base right then. My first hire orientation on June 3rd had to be rescheduled Per Hannah Fisher in Human Resource she stated that they needed to see the license in person, given date options of June 17, or July 8th.I had to reschedule my orientation choosing July 8th. I have been emailing Brad keeping him inform of everything. Before proceeding any further, the weekend before my first orientation I called Brad Pruden to make sure I was still guaranteed my position. His response via email was I thought you had lost interest in the position How bizarre!! When we were both touching base during health clearance!! I went through this whole hire process and he was very aware. Then he states that he will send over my first week schedule to supervisors Katie and Claudia. After that,Brad Continued not to touched base with me or answer any of my email questions, to contact them instead.
Orientation day(first day hire)July 8th, 2019 8am-3pm, I completed my first day, going on waiting for my last day to complete orientation which was Friday. Katie calls me her first response was that I should have been in training, huh? I was confused after telling her I m in the process of orientation for the per diem phlebotomist position in Lancaster area. She seemed confused and lost herself. She stated I had to contact Claudia regarding location. But to send her an email the night of, with my schedule of availability and hours of choice for training either 3am or 5:30am. So I did. Again not feeling right about this whole process after all the trouble, this didn t feel right. I asked Katie for Claudia s contact info, the next morning Katie replied.I called Claudia and she wasn t clear that I was the per diem phlebotomist for Lancaster ca, stating two people had already taken the position. I explained to her the whole route with brad Pruden from the beginning. Although, she also seemed confused and lost, trying to convince me to work in Orange County locations because that s what they need and the pay is great and of course because their UCI She stated she would contact brad or try to convince the new employees of Lancaster ca if they would want to switch out and will get back to me.Again,I didn t apply for this in the beginning!! I knew then this wasn t good. Not sure what really happened in the mist of this all, here we go again no one contacted me to touch base, it was the day before my last day of orientation I had decided to email Katie once again asking and confirming if I will be needed for training, she replies in a quick email stating my position has been terminated because they couldn t meet my strict availability?!? This was the worst by far I ve ever experienced a hiring process and I will not look back or forward to work with UCI in my life!!! Nor do I recommend this place to anyone.
I deserve an explanation, and I am still figuring out the pieces to this awful mishap UCI has put me and my family through!!

I had a horrible experiment with the emergency here. The whole broken garage door fell on her head and she was extremely in pain so I took her to here. After the checkup with the nurses, we were put in the staging room and waited for hours before meeting the doctors. There was only one chair in there so I let my mom sit on the chair while I had to sit on the floor. My mom was so tired, dizzy, and hurt; however, we had to wait for hours for the doctor to come. I understand that there are many cases that need care before us but I think my mom at least deserved a bed for her to rest. Plus, the room we were placed next to the office which was really noisy by all the gossiping and talking from the people on there. I took 5 hours for the wait. I was so disappointed and pissed. Such a horrible experiment!

My experience at UCI medical center was absolutely amazing. I'm shocked that I don't see more reviews when it comes to the delivery of babies. My daughter was born 2 weeks ago through cesarean birth. The reason I came to this hospital is because I had 2 previous cesarean births and I wanted to try for a vaginal delivery. And this was the only hospital that would try everything that they could to make this experience possible. I was nervous because I didn't see many reviews on labor and delivery. But the nurses and the doctors relieved my worries. They were all so kind and professional. I would definitely recommend them to any family or friend. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to have a v bac like i had wanted, but they helped me feel completely comfortable about having to get a c-section with my daughter. They did every technique with me to get my cervix to open. They watched me closely and talked to me throughly about what they were going to do next. Again Thank you all so much. I will come visit soon.

I have always look up to the staff at UCI Medical Centers for being outstanding when it comes to patient cares, but it seems like recently, their level of professionalism has fallen off the chart. My Father came into the ER room with a subarachnoid hematomas due to a trauma. She doesn't speak any English. I live 2000 miles away, so I asked my mother to give the phone to one of the nurses at the ER room so I can tell her/him what is my Father's diagnosis. The Nurse flat out refused to speak with me because she doesn't know who I am. This is after I told her of my Father's English barrier and I am his Son. This is common sense folks. While I understand this nurse is busy and has many other patients to take care of, a simple phone call to find out how serious my Father's condition was is the least she could have done. I respect all Doctors at UCI, but their support staff is a joke. If you are looking for medical care, and if you're not injured physically, don't expect the folks at UCI to take you serious because they are too "high-class" for you.

Everyone knows theres bad nurses and good nurses. So today my mom is in because of surgery and her assistant nurse Trish... Or whatever was treating her very bad while I was gone to get food. I believe my mom because her tray of whatever was away from her and if she would have pushed it.. It would have fallen over. But it was nowhere near her. She told me she was changed (Menstraul) at midnight. But the assistant nurse taking care of her, told her to do it herself. Which is odd because if one nurse did it before with no problem. Why did this nurse not want to do it. She was also not connected for her leg pressure. When I got here we asked for a change of nurse. And the assistant nurse we got.. Was amazing. I will be sending flowers to this nurse for actually treating my mom with respect. Her name is CRISTINE WITH NO H... Is amazing. Current date of this is 1-20-18

It was 5 hours before he was admitted into a room with a bed. I left two hours before he was admitted, my dad took over watch, and he didn't arrive home until very late. Staff doesn't even care about you. Go somewhere else. Better than this sh*thole. If only a zero was possible.

Cannot rely on this UCI Hospital ER. My wife was in this ER for abdominal pain, nausea, and diarrhea about 2 to 3 weeks ago. They send her home and did nothing. I took my wife today at Placentia-Linda ER for the same problem because she did not get better, and found out today that she has Colitis. I don t trust UCI ER for my family s emergency needs.

Do not recommend. You will be billed north of $700 for an allergy consultation - which is essentially the doctor giving advice for 15 minutes. This provider (Dr. Asal Gharib) is in network and I am stuck with an out-of-pocket expense of $500. And they never inform you that you will be billed a 'hospital charge' for any visit when you make the appointment. I have been to other hopsitals - never seen a bill like this one for a simple consultation/office visit.

Went in with Daughter who was having a miscarriage. Everyone one was wonderful to her and very attentive . If I could remember everyone s name I would tell you how great everyone was in their special way . It was a long two days . I do however remember ER RN ODEN (if I spelled it right) who immediately helped my daughter even though it wasn t his patient. Dr. Dang and Dr. Sudario who obviously haven t forgotten why they went into medicine . Just a big thank you to all the staff who took care of my daughter from ER to out patient surgery .

I went here for one allergy consultation and got charged $600. This place was in my network! I also saw a endocrinologist for 3 years while he blindly treated me without proper diagnosis. I have thalassemia which makes me look anemic but was suffering from Hashimoto's. Doc was making me take iron pills which made situation worse. I had to diagnose myself and found a real doctor with a working brain in Newport. Thyroid condition runs in my family, this wasn't hard to look out for. I AM NOT EXAGGERATING. DO NOT GO HERE. Now I am struggling with a bill and the patient experience department is a joke. UCI is for learning doctors...not good if you need actual sound medical advice.
