The level of care in UC Irvine was immaculate. They made my fiancee and me feel very comfortable. I don't like to go into hospitals but UC Irvine is top notch. 100 times better then my local hospital by far. The RN and Doctors were so accommodating.

April 30 during graveyard shift. In the ER trauma unit. The staff just sat and never helped the patients. A couple of them wanted pain medication and the nurse told them they are low. Had a family member in there for 13 hours never gave food or water. Never cleaned the wounds from the trauma . Had dry blood all over the face. Doctors where very nice and where upset they didn't clean up. Very upset that this is what we have to take care of our loved ones.

Worst experience for us. My mom was there due to head truma. She was looked at by a team of doctors and nurses at first. Then they transported to another room and we waited and waited with no service. They did not even put on a gown for my mom. No one came by to clean her head wound. When I repeatedly asked them, the doctor came to talk to me. I kept asking her about the my mom's head wound. She said that we are waiting for test results, but there are no test results other than the CT Scan. The doctor had was unknowledgeable , rude and not caring at all. She gave my mom a whole bunch of medications to take on an empty stomach even after I told her many times that she has a problem with taking pain medications on an empty stomach. When she dressed the wound to see if they need stitching, she didn't even clean up the area to see wounded area. My elder mom was yelling that it was painful and she told me to tell her that it is going to hurt. And this is the truma emergency center? On top of that, she did not know what she was doing at all. He cleaned up the area by pouring a whole bunch of Hydrogen Perxiode on the wound to see if they needed stitching or not. He said I probably should not be using this. The doctor just kept pulling on her dry bloody hair. Shouldn't she be trained for this? I can't believe they have doctors like her. Then she discharged an elderly women with a head wound without patching it up or applying an disinfecting solution to help her. They also did not give us direction on how to care for her wound verbally nor on the discharge paper. She did not give us any medication for her pain. The front desk receptionist (tall caucasian girl) was also very rude and racist. I hope we never had to go to this horrible hospital again. No one should be treated like this. It was unhuman.

I have a medical condition that involves seizure which doctors "have not" veen able to find. The doctor told me not to drive when feeling ill. So far i need disability insurance but the doctor or anyone else does not one to approve.
One of the neurologist nurse from indranil sen gupta told me to take the bus to work or school when feeling ill. Yes thats right, she told one of the doctors patient"me" to take the bus to work when feeling ill.
I hope she either gets fired or everyone gets disciplined for treating a patient unfairly.

After getting the run around and transferred non stop UCI was a godsend. The OBGYNs here are so nice they made everything ok during this terrible experience. I will never go anywhere else ever again. Fountain valley, Huntington beach memorial, and Torrance memorial all didnt want to help us or even look at her when she was spotting but UCI helped us in our time of need. Thank you UCI for caring and doing your jobs so good, it's so important to have somewhere like this you can trust.

Utter incompetence all around, this place hire the cheapest labor around and uses medical students "probably free" to practice on YOU.

My wife went for a simple blood draw and the medical assistant couldn't find a vain after poking around with a butterfly more than ten times. Then she had the nerves to accuse my wife of having bad veins before finally calling for help. Another medical assistant came and asked her why she was using the butterfly "she didn't even know that's what it's called" and she replied "I was told to use it for thr big vials" translation - I'm new AF and don't know what I'm doing.

We also had a 11am appointment for an ultrasound, waited until 12:20 before the tech came. In the mean time a medical student was there to give a preview and practiced the ultrasound machine on my wife for a good 20 minutes until we questioned her. Then she went to check on the tech.

WTF is wrong with this place, the whole place is chaotic and filled with free and the cheapest labor money can buy. You can definitely feel the incompetency of people working there.

Really bad service from the admin staff. They tell you that they will inquire about a question you had and then they never do, or else they don't get back to you. Simple labs take too long to come back (we were there waiting for almost 10 hours) and they kept the patient without food or fluids all that time. Avoid this place if at all possible.

One of the worse hospital I have ever been to in my whole life as far as labor and delivery.I delivered on Father's day and they were very low on staff. Only 1 nurse was available to help with the labor and delivery emergency department when they had tons of nurses working at the front desk and even she was not helpful attending to all the patients. She left 3 women screaming their heads off and I didn't get attention or the service that was needed until my water broke and I was in active labor. I was pretty much left in horror, and in the end they had the audicity to ask me why i came in so late when i was left waiting with no service for over an hour! Horrible service and I would NEVER recommend this place to any new mothers! EVER!

Oh and there's no free parking validation when you are going home after delivery!

Very expensive, poorly managed medical center whose focus is set on money, not their patient's well being.

I displayed numerous symptoms a life threatening condition. It took over 2 months before I was able to receive a proper scan and diagnosis. Through this time, I would be charged several hundred dollars for a simple 15 minute appointment with my doctor. Finally, my neurologist prescribes a very expensive medication (~$100 per 2 weeks).

At this point, I become fed up and go to Kaiser for a different neurologist. At Kaiser, they point out that I was prescribed one of the most expensive medications on the market and that UC Irvine appeared to be paid to promote this medication. Kaiser replaces my prescription with one nearly 1/10th the cost. Long story short, never come to UC Irvine... in the best interest if your own well-being and your wallet...

My experience with Dr. Jesse Kaplan and UCI Orthopedic center has been nothing but amazing. I broke my wrist on the first day of January 2020 while I was vacationing with my family in Cleveland, Ohio, I was so terrified and in pain, and the doctors there recommended that I have the surgery in my neck of the woods.
We came back immediately, and made an appointment with Dr. Kaplan. He took the time to explain what needs to be done and he went out of his way to find me a time slot for surgery right away. He is only one phone call away; he cared so much to check on me even on that weekend. It is refreshing to have a doctor who returns his patients calls personally, instead of their medical assistants. I highly recommend Dr. Kaplan; he is a great doctor who makes patients feel valued and respected.
Thank you Dr. Jesse Kaplan

i dont plan on returning.

parking is awful, staff is inattentive, and trying to contact the doctor is incredibly difficult. you can get messages through, but dont expect to be able to speak to them on the phone. they never call you back, even if you request callbacks.

On Wednesday June 24th I had a CT scan of my chest at Hoag Irvine. I was most uncomfortable in anticipation of the procedure. The techs, Rayl and Vil were friendly, professional, and most efficient which made the whole experience most tolerable. Congratulations on your selection of personnel Hoag Irvine.

I went it with a really bad case of food poising and the Orange, CA and nurses are very helpful. Everyone was kind and explained why they were doing or prescribing each part. I showed up about an hour before closing but they stuck around an extra 45 minutes to allow my IV bag to finish draining.

Don't choose this place, every single aspect is terrible in every department. The ER and Psychology doctors are particularly horrible at their jobs and very negative people. If they keep you overnight, the food is not fit to hand out to the homeless!

Honestly bad service I don't recommend that place to any one they made me go from room to room wait 1 then they put me in a hall waited other 8 hours then the place is so dirty not healthy then they took my blood work in the hall when they check me they didn't put glove on either

Bad service, last 12 hours in the emergency waiting room to solve something for me. A day and a half to give me a room, and apart from that they gave me a room where the bed is awful has a hole in the middle, I would sleep better on the floor. I DO NOT RECOMMEND IT!

Worse hospital for a ER service I got here by 12 noon and I'm here still but they charged me my copayment so quickly just to make sure that wasn't running away or something Copayment was $400.00 lady who charged me told
me that she needed to collect the money before service. I will how good their doctors are since never been here before and I hope never do again. I don't really recommend it because processing time is so slow host ER lobby wasn't busy what I see on back office staff waste time talking to much.

I was admitted in here quick and painless, by far one of the most comprehensive facilities in Orange County. My nurses were extremely friendly and the doctor was top-notch. It is a teaching hospital so many of these fresh faces are just learning and that's the best way to advance further in the medical field. Avoid the older hospitals (like HB, Garden Grove, or Global Med) like the plague, this place is definitely well worth the drive. It gives Hoag/St. Joe a very good run for their money

This is the best.

This is the best.
My baby boy was transferred here for a better level of care.
And honestly it was. He had surgery done after being born 8 days later.
The doctors were awesome. The staff was incredible. Those NICU are the best.
Thoa, Elise, among more nurses that were involved during my babys stay there.
It was a tough time. But those nurses deserve to be recognized way more than they are.
I was very satisfied with the care, the attention, the bed-side manners.
And when i was not present when i called to speak to the nurse in charge of taking care of my son they were always very insightful about my baby.
And everytime I was there I was greeted and always asked if I was going to pump...
Even though this place is out of network for my insurance. But it was worth every penny of the level of care for my child who was 8 days old.

I m here at UC Irvine medical Center in Orange, CA with my Ill father. We have received horrible treatment from the start. My father had to wait 4 days for a life threatening illness. Was taken to surgery multiple times only to be turned away. We voiced our concerns for our father to the nursing staff. As a result, a nurse retaliated by called the police and stated that she was physically assulted by one of our family members and that she was pregnant. This caused the police to come and investigate the claim causing my family to loose valuable time with my critical condition father. My father was also not given food and water for more than 4 days as they promised surgery for multiple days and that he could not eat. Some many things done wrong here that I feel the public must now about. After 5 days of being bumped for surgery, he finally got the procedure done at midnight last night. I have been working with a hospital social worker and senior leadership on an investigation. I feel the public must know about our treatment here in this hospital in hopes that it will inspire change so other famlies do not experience the agony that my family has endured.

I have been to this hospital for treatment and emergencies. Like any giant place there are some bad people. Trust me when I say they have far more brilliant doctors and nurses than non-brilliant. All of my surgeries were amazing outcomes and my oncology surgeon (Karen lane) was top notch as well as my plastics team (paydar). I've had a great colonoscopy (had one at hoag too, uci was much better) performed here. I could say bad things about a few Docs I have had negative experiences with but whats the point? I have had MRI's, Pet CT scans, ultrasounds ... pretty much everything. They did a stellar job as far as things go in my book.
I am lucky enough to have the ability to refer patients to their facility and I do it daily because over all a teaching hospital is always learning.

Also, the ER doc with the cowboy boots is thee best. Works his tail off and listens to everything.

I don t really care for reviews or write any at all but I feel like I have to for this one since it s my first time ever experiencing being at the hospital for 2 weeks. My boyfriend was brought here after a serious injury happened to him and of course I was staying here by his side for the last 2 weeks. The nurses were so nice and really helpful but when we would call them for something some sounded really annoyed and felt like we bothered them. I just had a feeling they weren t really checking up on him as much unless we asked them to come. They don t really explain what they re doing and why they are doing it. You really have to ask questions which I did not mind lol. Not all of them were like that though just a little. Nice place, And sometimes good service . Really helped my boyfriend out and made him feel at home through his tragic time. He got discharged today 10/8/19 and wanted to say thank you UCI for a great experience and keeping my boyfriend happy through this time and to the surgeons thank you for doing all you can!! The RN s are the best lol

I have not personally been here but I am completely baffled by the stories of the level of "care" given here. This is by far the WORST medical center I've ever heard of in my life. TOTALLY UNPROFESSIONAL, RUDE, AND HORRIBLE STAFF. DOESN'T EVEN DESERVE ONE STAR!!!!!

If you planning to go ER please don t do and save your life and time and go another hospital , talking here specifically on the RN who was the nurse for my brother in law .. 0/10 quality of care , 0/10 patient safety . That nurse kept the patient about 3.5 hours in the time he could finish his job and let the MD dc the patient within 45 minutes...
I will file a complain about that RN and I hope I get response on it as expected.

spent quite a bit of time out in the hallway as they did not have a bed for at least a couple of hours at one point they told me they did want me to stay over night then they got super busy and I was never taken back to a bed before maybe 20 minutes they let me go home that night and I got very very very sick at my house so the fever came back and swelling came back in my arm and I'm having to go back all over again to start over so definitely definitely definitely push the issue to get into your own room if you feel like you need it

Anyone who visits this hospital should record interactions with the nurses or doctors with their cell-phones.

They took my phone away and said it was a hipaa issue but I was in a private room.

The nurses and doctors are incredibly lazy. Just showing up for the paychecks and benefits.

Terrible hospital. Waiting room is filled with dozens of very ill people for hours next to senior citizens. They put very sick patients with infectious disease in the hallways or wherever they can place them. Rude nurses who call security if people complain about long waits for service. I waiting 4 hours to see anyone and when I asked more than once was told to sit on the bed as the security guard hands were near the taser. Clogged air ducts. People gagging and coughing while the nurses sit behind desks and laugh at the patients.

The nurses are very rude and unprofessional. I called to speak to my father in law who was about to go in to surgery and his nurses told me I was the 10th person to call him and they were tired of getting up and we needed to minimize calls to only 1 person, only. I was shocked for her to respond to me that way.

I was very impressed with my first visit with my new doctor at UCI Medical Center Senior Center. My new doctor spent 1 hour with me, completed a comprehensive review of my health and made me feel like she really cared. In addition I spent 30 minutes with the pharmacist who reviewed, discussed and made recommendations regarding the medications I was taking. The clinic staff has also responded quickly to any follow-up questions I have made by phone or text. I am able to access my doctor via email which is also something I also like. I highly recommend this clinic.

Horrible billing practices. They tell you a consultation is $75, and then bill your insurance company for $1100. When you inquire as to why the discrepancy, they state, "Well, that's just the way it is." When you ask office staff what is the cost of a procedure, they will state, "We don't know. We only submit codes to billing." So basically, you play guess my bill. Never again. Hoag is the way to go.

I went there with severe back pain. Waiting time to get checked in was good but it did take a while for doctor to see me. Care provided was excellent with no unnecessary tests. Overall a very positive experience.

Avoid this place at all cost. I have not personally been a victim of this place however 3 of my family members and 3 very close friends have been. First the ER is atrocious, my wife went in with abdominal pains and waited nearly 7 hours to be helped. I used the word help but it was anything but help. The quacks whacko basically let her tell him what was bothering her and told her if it continues come back tomorrow, no examination of any kind but managed to charge our insurance $800.00 and for what sitting in a waiting room? My daughter went there and they put her on meds which she had a terrible reaction to and when she went back they told her to go to her doctor, what the hell is that? A friend is having kidney failure so he got on a donors list. Luckily another friend of his offered a kidney. She did her testing in December 2018 in August 2019 after calling numerous times to check status the ignorant girl on the phone tells him that they were not a match without even knowing his name. How in the world would she know? That s just it she didn t have any idea who she was even talking to. So I guess their very low rating is accurate because the place sucks. I think it is just plain smart to go someplace else.

Don't go to any drs who use UCI Irvine Health Med Billing. I have been waiting for bills as insurance paperworks from BlueShieldCa was received. Visits from June-Aug. Your phone answering system is the worst I have ever seen. A simple question requiring a quick answer was impossible because the phone system put me into an endless loop that was impossible to get out of. Repeated attempts at different choices still did not put me through to a human being. How can you call yourselves a professional hospital when you do not have a way for someone to answer the phone?? You should be ashamed of yourselves.

Worst possible place to go, was involved in major motorcycle accident with internal bleeding, broken ribs, shoulder and clavicle. Requested x-rays before leaving never got them and no prescription for pain meds even though they had me on morphine while I was admitted. Doctors are in no rush and are very rude. Honestly you would expect more from an accredited hospital. 0/10 do not go to this meat factory.

I am new to Orange county and never been to any of the hospitals here. Thought University is always good and isn't too pricey.

I had to go here for my allergies and won't recommend anyone to go there. It's super expensive facility... Doesn't matter what location you go to. Their charges on the name of facility fee is something which no one can explain.

Also be careful while parking your car here. If you accidentally park the vehicle in visitor parking and even if you are a patient, they won't let you park for free.

If I could give a zero star rating I would. I am ...

If I could give a zero star rating I would. I am from out of town and arrived at the ER at 10:30am. I know it can take some time to be seen at an ER but I had been in a great deal of pain over a month and it had really ramped up them week I was in Orange with my daughter whom I had to leave at the hotel we were staying at with another family while I went to the ER. Here are my issues...1) Once they took me back I met with a resident and the supervising doctor for LESS than 3 minutes while she took notes on her computer and asked questions and ordered labs and a CT. Its important to note that was the ONLY time I saw a doctor there. I was then taken to a room with chairs where triage patients arrived. I waited in this room for 8 hours - I was asked to give a urine sample and when I went to the ONLY bathroom on the ER floor I opened the door and there was blood everywhere....IN the toilet, on the walls, on the floor. I told someone about it and no one saw an urgent need to close it down and/or clean it up serious BBP issues here!!! Then after about 6 hours of waiting I finally had my CT scan done. SO I sat with patients who clearly had mental and drug issues while they came and went out of the ER and I waited and waited. At 9PM after waiting just to get my results and still not having any answers to my complaint and also not offered any water OR food (not even a lousy cracker - Thanks to the two women sitting next to me who BOUGHT me a water and a donut to eat!), I had enough, told the nurse to remove the needle that I am leaving. He came in took out the IV and said "Sorry we are busy" and left. WOW! I have never ever experienced not only a poorly ran ER but one that has major issues with cleanliness and patient safety. Go anywhere but here if you want good quality care - because this is not the place to get it if you have to go to the ER

This hospital literally saved my life. I had what ...

This hospital literally saved my life. I had what I thought was a minor sore throat but as the day went by it got worse and worse. By the middle of the night I couldn't breathe without effort and could only whisper. My boyfriend took me to UCI. While he was parking the car I was triaged and moved to a treatment room. One look down my throat and the nurse called a code blue. I was quickly seen by an ENT doctor who told me that my throat was so swollen they couldn't insert a breathing tube. He prescribed an anti-inflammatory and a pain med IV. He told me clearly that if the medications did not bring down the swelling quickly they would have to do a tracheotomy. Luckily the swelling did subside and I was soon breathing normally and the pain had vanished. He provided a course of antibiotics and advised me to schedule a tonsillectomy once I was finished with the antibiotics. Though I never did know what caused this intense swelling as I said this hospital saved my life by acting very quickly. The doctor was first rate and so was the nurse who held my hand after injecting the medications. This was especially helpful since I have had bad reactions to pain medications in the past. The injection that night felt like fire in my veins and had she not been right there telling me it was normal and would pass in a few minutes I would have truly panicked. Not being able to breathe is beyond scary so thinking the pain med might cause an allergic reaction that.might suffocate me was terrifying. She literally held my hand until the burning sensation passed and I was breathing easier. I left the hospital in the morning and was so much better we went out to breakfast. Great hospital and great staff!

I appreciate all the doctors and nurses. I came in from another hospital as a stroke victim. They were on top of things so fast my head was spining, from the ER staff to the observation rooms. I was well taken care of. Even though i tried not to have attitude, which i did, the staff was fantastic. Ty all for saving me!

This place doesn t even deserve a star. I called to schedule an appointment and the person on the phone was so rude and short. She didn t even let me talk, she hung up on me before even asking if I had any other questions. I am so glad I called because I won t be going to UCI in person. She must really hate her job.

The worst place EVER! My daughter was admitted to ...

The worst place EVER! My daughter was admitted to UCI because her brain was bleeding. One male nurse emptied her toilet and then went to put something in her IV without changing his gloves! On the day of surgery my daughter had a high fever. They had her laying on a bed of ice screaming for 4 hours before surgery. She weighed approx 86 lbs. at the time of surgery. They never fed her. After care is NON EXISTENT. We went back numerous times because of her headaches. They said they would refer us to a pain management place in our area but the place they referred us to did not work with brain patients. They said they would refer us to another place but never did. In their notes they say everything is fine and she has no headache. This could not be more WRONG. I have taken her back BECAUSE OF HEADACHES. All of her hair fell out...no mention of that. After four months she still had scabs on the incision. They said that wasn't right and to bring her in right away. We went in and they ripped the scabs off! That was their brilliant solution. She has never been the same after they did this. Because she had no more scabs (after ripping them off and making her head bleed again) The Dr said she didn't need to come back. Yes that's right, all better now. There is no mention of my daughter's permanent brain damage in their notes so I can't get a primary care dr to even listen. Why would I drive 40 miles to see the surgeon if she weren't having headaches? THAT'S WHY WE WENT THERE AFTER the hospital. Now she can't even get SSI because of these deceitful medical notes. There is so much more that I can't even get into. Animals are treated better than this.

I landed in the ER with an asthma attack. I got in within a minute, blood drawn and in a bed within 5 minutes. Fastest experience ever! I was treated with respect, doc, nurses and tech explained everything they were doing and I have to say they are 5star based on this experience. Thank you UCI

From being a patient and a employee here I don t r...

From being a patient and a employee here I don t recommend this place. At one time I felt that working for the University was a plateau and I was very disappointed because I didn t find peace until the day I left. Hostile work environment and being harassed go hard and hand if you are not the correct gender or race or religion. After a time here I realized that from the top they hire aggressive bully type managers and one particular that comes to mind even had a known history of bullying coworkers and somehow found his way to the director of imaging. Manager after manager is the same and the favored employees are very quick to be the upcoming managers favorites, continuing to favor a hostile work environment for most. This isn t light harassment because I know of another employee who had a mentally challenged child and one of favorited bully employees said to her that her behavior (the employee) must be where the child got it from? What does management do when the employee complains? Nothing at all? So this heavy set woman's bullying continues still to this day because she must be angry at the world and instead of HR protecting good workers and also employees with disabilities which I could go on more, these people are harassed and have to suffer. I m gone and fortunately for myself I no longer have to deal but my question is what kind of person and people does HR have running their hospital? Hostile work environment and taking care of very sick people do not go hand and hand. So those who complain about the poor care they receive understand those who are working hard are most likely working in a very toxic environment that is created from the top. I do find it amusing though the few employees who talk about it being a wonderful place to work are the bullies speaking the favorite children per say. The ones that are lazy and do nothing while a patient loses their kidney or life and this is how it effects the patients because this is allowed. No human empathy just some really angry disturbed souls. The more hateful, racist employees they fill this place with the more the patients will continue to feel it.

I was recently here with a badly broken clavicle sticking out. Yes the emergency room is quite slow when it comes down to serve the patients. However for those of you complaining about it, remember that is a really busy place, and even though is busy they make sure you're comfortable while you wait to be attended. Great place, great medical staff, horrible patients giving doctors and nurses a hard time which slows things down.

I arrived at the ER on 1/6/2017 around 4pm with chest pain, shortness of breath and an elevated blood pressure that peaked at 245/185. It was about a 1 hour before they did an EKG. At that time, I saw a doctor and was told some blood work and other tests would be ordered. It was approximately 2 hours before I was called back to have a chest x-ray done. Then I waited awhile longer before they called me back to insert a hep lock, draw blood and do a second EKG. By then it was 5am and I was told the there was a change in the shift and the new doctor would see me soon. All this time I waited in the ER waiting room. When I was finally seen, it was in the triage room where a bunch of other patients were. The doctor apologized and stated I was the only one left that had been there the longest number of hours. She examined me and told me I would get the next bed available in the ER and she wanted to do a CT scan with contrast of my chest. She also told me she was going to admit me to a telemetry floor for further treatment. I went back to the ER waiting room and a while later was taken to have the CT scan with contrast of my chest. Then I was brought back to the ER and put in a room until 12pm when I was taken to a room on T4 bed 14, which was not a telemetry floor. So, I spent a total of 20 hours in the ER. In the ER, I found out that there was a lack of communication skills between the people working there. Each person I saw asked me the same questions over and over and over again, which caused undo stress for me. I was in pain all the time I was sitting in the ER waiting room and I kept telling the people behind the desk and they kept telling me they would tell someone in the back, but I wasn t able to see a doctor yet. Each time I was also told it would only be another hour or before I could be seen. If they had told me I could be there overnight, I would have gone to another ER. This ER experience was unacceptable to me. Even the ER doctor I saw at 5am in the morning stated she couldn t understand why they made me wait so long.
In conclusion, I m still having problems with chest pain, shortness of breath, high blood pressure spikes, wheezing and chest congestion. I was sent home with nothing but Tylenol for pain. As you can see by this letter, my experience with UCI was very frustrating, mostly unproductive and I feel worse now than before my admission. I m afraid to go back to the ER because I don t want to sit there for another 20 hours, just to get no answers. It s apparent that the medical personnel did not listen to my medical issues and concerns. They did what they thought I needed, but I felt they never listened to my whole story. This whole situation started with a respiratory infection in Dec. 2016 while I was on a vacation in Europe and I was admitted on Dec. 28th by your ER dept. for observation and a stress test because of the same issues that I m still having, however the symptoms were not as severe. I was told the stress test couldn t be performed for at least 3 or more days because of the holiday and the lack of medical personnel to perform the test, so I was discharged to be followed up to have a stress test. The earliest stress test appointment I could get was scheduled for Jan.18th. I was told if any of my symptoms were to get worse to go to the ER, which is what I did on Jan. 7th. I m very concerned about my health because I can t drive, work, walk upstairs without severe shortness of breath and light headedness and when I do any activity at all it s a chore. I get very fatigued just taking a shower. These health issues are continuing to get worse and I need to find out what is causing them. I would really appreciate some assistance in getting these issues resolved.

I had pain on Left side and went to the ER. I waited like 10 minutes and was taken to the back where I got CT scan and meds. I can't say enough about the staff, all caring. I have never had a bad experience here.

10/11/2017. I took my mom in to UCI Emergency. Parking at Emergency parking for free (just need to provide the Parking Space number to Receptionist).
11:30 Am: Check in @ front desk. Only take about 5min for paper work and reasons why go to ER. Not a lot of patients waiting yet.
11:40: Get called in for triage. (Some nurse got a poker face which is not a big deal to me)
11:55. See Dr. Burns. He checks my mom condition for about 3-4 minutes which is considered generous. (Average time doctor see patients maybe 1-2 minutes or less). Maybe depend on how well you can communicate with the doctor, and your chief of complaint. After that, we go back to waiting area.
12:35: Get Chest Xray done
13:00: get Blood draw done. Nurse offers some pain meds also.
13:17: Nurse Practitioner/MSN Kathleen takes my mom into the room for eval. Another good 4minutes talking, checking lungs, heart, listen to patient s history. Then go to the Staging Area to get treatment (only chair here, no bed)
1330: During time in Staging area, my mom get breathing treatment, meds, IV infusion
Some of the nurse are very attentive. Especially R.N Lenci, and N.P Kathleen. They keep coming back and check on my mom multiple time which make me surprised.
Around 15:20 : Lab work, Xray results come out. Get discharge.
Total time @ UCI ER about 4 hours.
Time might be differ depend on patient s condition I guess.
Thanks UCI team
