Dr. Miller is nothing short of amazing! He is helping us diagnose and treat some issues with our golden retriever that other vets could not. I am so glad we were referred to him! And the staff was super friendly too!! Very happy to have found them.

We recently had to bring in our dear Bebe cat to end her suffering. Our vet was Dr. Briley and I cannot say enough about how wonderful she, and the staff, were in helping us through this difficult time. She spent a lot of time with us, helping us as we suffered with the decision and the difficult aftermath, even though I'm sure she had other patients to see. This kind of selfless care is the reason that we go to Triangle Veterinary Hospital. We also received a wonderful card with notes from many of the vets and staff. Thank you all for taking care of all of us.

The team at Triangle Veterinary Hospital is absolutely awesome. We came to Triangle Veterinary Hospital when our dog was diagnosed with Lymphoma. The vets at Triangle Veterinary Hospital developed a comprehensive treatment plan that resulted in periods of remission of the cancer and ultimately extended the life of our puppy. The staff was phenomenal - everyone knew and loved our CG and treated her like a princess. When it came time to say goodbye, the entire staff could not have been more compassionate, caring and helpful through a very difficult time. We can't thank the vets and technicians enough for all their love and comprehensive care of our dog - and everything they did for us too!

What an absolutely wonderful place. I had to go here for the first time after being recommended by my long time vet. My dog Roscoe needed an emergency surgery late on a Friday afternoon and my doctor doesn't perform surgeries anymore. This staff, never meeting me or Roscoe, stayed late on a Friday afternoon to perform the surgery and treated all of us like family. Roscoe had to be euthanized a couple of weeks later due to cancer and one of the first calls I received was from Dr. Miller (he was actually calling to check on Roscoe, not knowing he had passed). Dr. Miller truly shared in our sadness and made my wife and I feel so much better after a rough weekend.

The staff at Triangle Veterinary Hospital is wonderful. One of our animals was a frequent flyer, and we had nothing but positive experiences - even in emergency situations. Dr. Miller and his team give exceptional care and are passionate about what they do (surgery, endoscopic procedures, routine health visits). They are attentive to the needs of both the animal and their humans. We have experienced the joy of a new puppy and the loss of a loved companion with the Triangle Veterinary Hospital staff. We have experienced other veterinarian offices in the area and would not go anywhere else!

Triangle Vet has a vet tech named Reggie who is worth his weight in gold. He is very knowledgeable about veterinary medicine, and he is both very kind and skilled about dealing with totally uncooperative, frightened cats such as my Scout. I must add that Scout's fears are in no way a result of mistreatment at Triangle Vet; they come from past trauma. Everyone at Triangle Vet is kind.

I love the people , and the dr is awesome . I just had to change vets . Triangle is to far away and Banfield put me on their savings program for a year and now my dog can get the care he deserves and not a lot of money out if pocket . I saved 515$ the last time I went and I got free dental cleanings for my baby .

What a wonderful place to take your pet. The girls at the front desk are totally professional. The office Manger is wonderful and of course Dr. Miller is my hero. He bonded with my peke, like no one I have ever known. He sits on the floor to get at the same level as my pet, to examine him. He talks to me in a language I can understand, and put me at total ease after the horrible experience from the last Vet. Hospital I left. This is not a put on. He dearly loves my dog, and I'm positive that he's this way with all of his clients and the pets he treats. Kudos to you Dr. Miller and everyone associated with Triangle Vet. Hospital.

I've been going to Triangle Vet Hospital for over 12 years. They are the absolute best in life. My dogs love everyone there. I've probably seen most everyone there at one time or another beginning with Dr. Scott until she retired and sometimes Dr. Miller and now mainly with Dr. Dickens. Always able to get an appt without trouble and never have to wait more than a few minutes. I recommend them to all my friends who have dogs.

I would definitely recommend Triangle Vet! You can expect excellent service from beginning to end. My dog has been a patient of theirs for the past 5 years and I have nothing but kind words for this hospital. Every interaction with the staff has been a friendly and professional one. From annual exams, common illnesses, unexpected emergencies, and even their boarding service - I have walked away knowing my dog Skye was placed in safe and trusting hands.
Also, special shout-out to Dr. J & Dr. Welch! Knowledge aside - they are both truly compassionate animal-lovers and that is why they excel at their jobs.

Dr. Scott took exceptional care of our puppy after we rescued him. He had pneumonia when we adopted him from the shelter, and Dr. Scott helped him get up to speed within a week or so -- and truly saved his life. Later, Dr. Scott helped us identify the reason why our dog was limping, and referred us to an excellent veterinary surgeon who performed a completely successful surgery that has allowed our dog to run with abandon once again.

I want to edit my review to 5 stars. This vet group have been incredibly kind to my animals. Recently, our oldest lab had a bout of nausea and vomiting. They did the entire work up on her and were very thorough. We were seeing a different vet than we had previously, who was also fantastic. The kicker? Her previous vet, Dr. Tabor, would look at her tests and stop to check on her.
We wouldn t go anywhere else.

Walmart service at Nordstroms prices. I had a series of terrible experiences at this clinic. I did however like the vet as a person. I forget her name, since I only spoke with her once, but she was very nice.
So I had a puppy being treated for demodex which involved medicated baths every week. First of all, I hardly ever saw the same person twice. Someone in the front would call someone in the back on a walkie talkie who came out and took my dog away without even saying hello. I only ever saw the vet once on the first visit. On that first visit I was charged for a skin scraping which they did not perform. They gave shots and charged for them after I had told three different people I did not want the shot given. One person would tell you one thing and when you acted on that information they would act like you were the one that was stupid. I never knew who bathed my dog or how it went. I was never asked if I had any questions. I was never told what the next steps were or what to expect. I used this clinic from September through December. I HATED them after the second visit but I kept thinking, well, he's almost better I should just ride it out.
My husband thought I complained a lot but then he had the exact same experience. There is too many office staff to know what is going on, they all tell you something different, overcharge and charge for services they don't perform. They also quoted me nearly $600 to neuter a male dog! Even Banfield which is known to be insanely overpriced is $350.
Contrast with New Hope Animal Hospital, the vet I eventually switched to. Everyone in the office is lovely and introduces themselves. They took extra time with my dog since he is now traumatized by going to the vet. The same lady washed him each time. She came out to get him, she brought him out to me, and she would call me in the middle of the day to let me know how the bath went and how he was doing in the office. They also pluck hairs instead of scraping so my dog doesn't have giant scabs on his face. They also switched him to the ivermectin treatment once he was tested for a faulty gene since they said the baths don't work well. After spending $1500 at Triangle on baths that were not working, his demodex was cleared up in a month with a $20 bottle of ivermectin.

I am deeply saddened and disheartened from my experience with this hospital. I cannot comment on the actual vets as the receptionist and manager refused to let speak to them. I found an animal on the side of the road and brought him in. The receptionist recommended I take him to Raleigh, which I planned to do until he started crashing. The only thing they would do was euthanize him, which I agreed may be appropriate though I wanted to ask the vet if that was the right decision. Apparently, the vet and nurse manager was too busy to pull themselves away from their computers (there was only one other family there) and he died while I was fighting to talk to them. Upon checking into their claims of not being allowed to see wild animals, I found multiple pictures of their vets examining owls, bobcats, etc.
Their bottom line seems to be profit, not the animals' well-being. Unfortunately, they are the only after hours hospital in Durham (I've checked) so there's not really any alternative. That being said, I'll drive to Raleigh from now on.

We went there 6 years ago because we had to put our beloved dog to sleep. While it was an extremely sad event, their staff was very, very attentive. I imagined that the last thing our dog would see was a cold examination room. But they had a comfortable room with a couch, soft music and lighting, and books about death to share with kids. So our last moments with our first "child" was peaceful and special. Well done, Triangle Vet Hospital!

If I could put zero stars I would. I've never been...
If I could put zero stars I would. I've never been treated so rudely by "nurses" in my life. My roommate called 4 times yesterday to try to get a refill for her dog that she needed me to pick up because she is out of town. She was told call back later, the prescription will be ready after 3, called to make sure at 3-oh we've been busy it isn't ready yet and then finally at 4:45 I decided just to go there to see what the issue was. Plus bad storms were coming so I didn't want to be out much later. I come in and I'm very politely and with a smile on my face I say hi I'm here to pick up a prescription for Chiffy and was instantly met with hostility and told I don't know why you're here the doctor hasn't even agreed to fill your prescription(yet they've already ran her card and got the money for it that morning). Shocked with that answer and the hostility behind it, I explained well my roommate has been calling all day and was told the prescription will be ready after 3, she's actually on the phone right now. I was interrupted and talked over multiple times before I could finish that sentence. The response was just as rude and hateful and they said well if you want to wait until they get off the phone we'll see if the dr even wants to do it. At this point we're under a tornado WARNING and my dogs are home alone I said no I'll try again tomorrow. As I'm walking out the door I can hear the two nurses talking about me. I called this morning and was told to call back later, So I called at 12 because this isn't our usual vet and no one told me they were going to close at noon on my first call. So once I called back, I was instantly met with the same rude hostility as I was yesterday , which leads me to believe that Diane must be the person that was so rude to me yesterday seeing how she instantly treated me like garbage when I called this afternoon . Her response to me wasn't oh I'm sorry for the mix-up, no nothing like that. As soon as I said yes I'm just calling to check on the prescription for chiffy the response was , we told you yesterday to wait now we're closed. To which I was very shocked that that was the response I was given. This dog is on an antidepressant to which you're not supposed to discontinue use . Thus the whole reason we were trying to pick up an emergency refill because I am not the owner of the animal, the owner is out of town. Had we been told at 9-10am the day before that they couldn't help us we would have tried somewhere else. Instead This is how we were treated. And the only one who is gonna suffer is an innocent and helpless animal. Because I'm sure since Diane felt comfortable enough to treat me this way, a stranger, she obviously is allowed to act this way on a regular basis. So I'm sure no consequence will come to her or this Clinic. Even though it should! this woman should not be allowed to work with animals that cannot defend themselves if that is her behavior to people. She obviously needs to be in another job, because this is not the one for her. I'm Completely stunned, this is unacceptable and honestly shocking. I hope others see this so they can avoid the abuse I received because if She is that way with me, I can only image how she is with a sick or injured animals.

They were very nice & understanding so their staff was really good; however, I can't say that i would use them again. The prices are more than extremely high. They had the girl tell me it was $50 for cremation so I agreed to it. Then went to pay & it jumped to almost $300. My vet charged me $160 for all of that and everything comes back in a nice box. I called again today to ask for the ashes back since I paid so much. I was told that would be another $150 charge so -- $450 vs $160? That's a big difference. If I had known all of this upfront, I would have kept the little thing as comfortable as possible during the night and just took her to my vet the next morning. That was way overpriced even for an emergency situation.

After calling several vets in the local area and was at the point of giving up on my cat Gracie. She had suffered for several years what's hyperthyroidism and had lost down to barely nothing. I was actually looking for a place where I could take her and have her euthanized.
I had asked several times about surgery for her hypothyroidism and was told that it was too expensive and I wasn't able to afford it. The last place I called was Triangle veterinary. They asked that I bring Gracie and the next day so they could examine her and then we could talk about options. I wasn't expecting much and have given up all hope.
Then walks in this amazing man ... Dr. Miller he sit down on the floor with Gracie until she could get used to him so he can examine her. I was pleasantly surprised when he said I think I can do surgery on her. days later the surgery was done and completed and I pick Gracie up the next day so. Since the week from the surgery Gracie has gained over a pound.
Thank you Dr. Miller for saving my baby.

We brought our ferret in suspecting he had Adrenal Disease. We spent a lot of money for an exam and test which confirmed Adrenal Disease. Unfortunately, the vet did not have access to the necessary treatment. We followed up/waited two months and are now having to start over elsewhere where the treatment is available. We wasted a lot of time and money here.
I have gone to Triangle Veterinary Hospital three ...
I have gone to Triangle Veterinary Hospital three times since moving to North Carolina, and I will never go back.
I have an 19 week old Cavalier King Charles Spaniel who is currently 10 lbs. With the small size and gentle demeanor of a Cavalier, it is important to have a veterinarian who is well versed in low stress handling techniques to help build the puppy's confidence during a stressful time. Unfortunately, I have found the vets and technicians here to be completely lacking in these skills, and, as a consequence, my puppy is showing signs of submissive fear.
When my puppy was 16 weeks and ~8 lbs, we went in to get his last distemper/parvo booster and a nail trim. While accidents happen, Dr. Watson nicked my puppy with a needle trying to deliver this shot, and he bled. After this incident, my puppy started acting more nervous and kept trying to wiggle away from her.
After a successful second attempt at the shot, I tried to counter condition with high-value treats, but I made the mistake of not leaving the clinic; he was still behaving submissively and nervously.
The vet technicians then tried to brute force restrain him to get his nails trimmed. I was appalled that the technicians needed to restrain a small, clearly fearful puppy so forcefully, so I insisted that I just hold him to keep him calm. We were able to get his nails trimmed that way without a problem, but I spent the next several weeks using counter conditioning methods with high-value treats to get him comfortable with people touching his feet again. He had never been unhappy with nail trims before.
I again made the mistake of giving TVH another try. We went in for a nail trim and to buy flea/tick/worm prevention medication. Instead of letting me hold him to keep him calm like before, two vet technicians whisked him to the back (without his treats). When I heard my puppy screaming out, I stepped into the back room (they had left my door open), but did not see them (they must have been in another back room). I then called out for them to stop or let me hold him like before, but there was no response. Another technician came and asked me to go back into my room.
When they brought my puppy back, he was shaking, fearful, and pulling to leave.
I'll be spending a long time trying to counter condition the harm that this clinic has caused and will be looking for a new vet immediately.

Dont recommended this place if you love your pets. Took mine to check after she couldnt walk and stay still by herself. After almost a hour of waiting the vet came and told me she were fine everything were normal.. they charged me 171 dollars just to phisycal check then 2 days later she had a ear infecction and the supposed to be a vet never found it , i guess she didnt do her job and now she is about to lose her ear and have something in her skin , Dont waste your money and time on that place , find a better place where they take care of your lilttle love ones.

Absolutely terrific care in every way. Lovely people, also, by the way. They have been taking care of the pets of our family for decades, and we are so grateful.
I've lived in the neighborhood behind this hospita...
I've lived in the neighborhood behind this hospital for several years, and can personally attest that they leave the dogs they're caring for outside for the majority of the day in even the worst weather - when it's high 90s and humid and when it's freezing cold. The dogs are miserable and spend most of the day barking, which happy, content dogs don't do. They aren't allowed to expand their building because of zoning restrictions, so I suspect they put the dogs outside so they don't risk violating OSHA noise regulations for their staff during the work day, not because they honestly feel it's best for the dogs to be outside all day even in horrible weather. Others from the neighborhood and I have called the hospital to voice concerns over this, but the hospital doesn't seem to care and hasn't changed their practice. I have specifically chosen not to take my dog to TVH, despite their convenient location, because I want better treatment for her. I can't help but feel many of the loving pet parents who have reviewed them positively would feel differently if they knew their dog was outside and stressed for so much of the time that they were there.
Edit: The response below has been their standard response whenever questions have been raised about the well-being of the dogs in their care; to focus on their history and zoning status. My point in writing this review is that dogs that are barking all day are stressed, and it still shocking to me that they leave them outside in weather when I don't even feel comfortable walking my dog more than to the end of the block and back. It is now unbearably hot in July 2017 and the dogs are still being kept outside during the day.

Triangle Veterinary Hospital has been a part of our family since the 1980's through the present day. We began with Dr. Dills and met Dr. Miller as Dr. Dills was beginning to contemplate retirement. Our dogs get very excited when we say we are going to see the vet. Because of the obvious love and caring they and we know is genuine, a visit is like a visit with dear family. The medical care that they provide is top-notch and their practices are well-vetted. I appreciate the fact that they provide nontraditional treatments as well.
I can't imagine life without dogs and equally can't imagine life without Triangle Veterinary Hospital. Thank you Dr. Miller and team for all that you do for our family, two-legged and four-legged!

We've had two dogs that both have gone to Triangle Veterinary over the past 6 years. When our first baby passed away, I cannot say enough good things about how Triangle helped both us and her through that difficult time. Once we added a new family member, we knew there was only one place we could take him! Everyone is always so helpful and friendly, and genuinely loves animals- you can tell this isn't just a job for the people that work there- but their passion. And that makes a big difference in the level of care you get. We love Triangle Veterinary Hospital!

Caring & Kind
Our dog was bitten at her doggie daycare and our regular vet couldn't fit her in to repair the quarter-size gouge on her side. Triangle agreed to treat her even though she wasn't a regular client and we are in the midst of the pandemic. When we arrived we discovered they'd set up risk-prevention procedures which didn't allow anyone in the building except staff. My husband spoke on the phone to someone inside who took all the vital information and then another staff person came out wearing gloves and attempted to take our dog inside. We ended up needing a muzzle (something we sometimes use at her regular vet,) and she was able to go inside the building without too much fuss.
The vet called after an initial examination, explained what needed to be done, and the post-procedure details. We went forward with getting the wound cleaned and having five staples inserted to close it. We had arrived at 11 am and they called to let us know she was ready at noon. All went well!! By 12:30 pm we had our little pup home and resting. What a day for all of us!
Thank you, Triangle Veterinary Hospital!! Not sure what we would've done without you!!

Dr. Chuck Miller is awesome. I was referred to him by my vet to evaluate the growths in my beagle's vagina to see if he could remove them without a full invasive surgery. Due to these growths, she was having recurring urinary tract infections and was peeing in the house. He called me himself to discuss the situation and he had us scheduled to see him immediately. Once there, he was so incredible. You could tell right away that he has a deep love for animals and wants to do whatever he can to help them. He examined my baby, and explained the procedure in detail and answered all of my questions. We scheduled the procedure and it was a big success. There were 3 large growths and 2 smaller ones. He sent them all out for biopsy and, much to our relief, they were benign and the margins were good so there shouldn't be any chance of regrowth. He was there with me every step of the way, following up with me himself regarding the results. I so appreciate everything Dr. Miller did and I can't thank him enough for taking this on and helping her. This has changed her life! Since the procedure she is peeing outside and isn't having accidents in the house. Dr. Miller is a terrific veterinarian and I highly recommend him.

We recently moved to NC and had a cat who had cancer. Knowing we soon would need to say good bye we quickly researched local vets near us who would perform in home euthanasia. We decided to go with Triangle Veterinary hospital not knowing we quickly would regret that decision.
After speaking with the office about prices and procedures we booked a 4:30 in home appointment. We were told that the procedure was 1.) To insert a catheter 2.) Sedative would be given to our cat to relax her 3.) The dr and tech would step aside so we could say our final good bye 4.) The final medication would be given to end her life. THIS IS NOT WHAT WE WERE GIVEN!
First off, the Dr was 10 minutes late to our home and we live less than a half mile away from the office. 2.) The tech and the dr handled our cat in such a manner that it was painful to watch and you could hear her gasping to breath from being restrained at the scruff of the neck. The Vet tech tried repeatedly to insert a catheter into our cats paw over and over again without success. They agreed that trying in the back leg would be better and the Dr took over. So they flipped her over and once the line was established they immediately put her to sleep. NO SEDATIVE! NO WARNING! AND NO EXPLANATION! They did not follow their own procedure that they explained to us mere minutes before. I understand that they have a hard job that was only made harder by doing it in home but not too communicate with two owners standing there who were waiting for a final moment to say good bye is UNACCEPTABLE! The Dr had enough time to shave her and run a line he could have communicated to us that things weren't going as planned and that NEVER happened! My cat went from being terrified to gone while my husband and I stood helpless wondering why. The Dr offered no explination and in a second was gone. My husband and I believe they were frustrated and that they cared more about the time than the patient. What a sad and awful way to say good bye to a beloved family member. In my 40 years I've personally said good bye to 6 pets and none of them went like this. This was and is an awful way to go. Sadly we are unable to take those moments back and the last images of our cat were those of fear rather than the peaceful sedated state we were told and accustomed to.
We will no longer be using this office for our 3 other cats as they deserve better than that. Again, I understand that no situation is ever the same and that they had a difficult job to do but to not follow their own procedure and to not communicate that to us the owners standing there is beyond unacceptable!

TVH has been taking care of our cats since 1978. Doctors and staff are consistently kind, patient, and gentle with pets and humans alike. Dr. Max Gordon has been exceptionally helpful as we consider options for our two 16-year-old cats. We have moved recently, but drive all the way across town to continue with this practice, and will continue to do so.
